I HAVE DECIDED THAT,

1. I WILL CALL CIUDAD JUAREZ TODAY...TO SEE IF THEY HAVE SENT THE OFFICIAL LETTER/PACKAGE 3

2. NOVEMBER WILL BE A VERY HOLIDAY FILLED MONTH......AND SO THE FIRST WEEK OF NOVEMBER FROM 2-6 LOOKS ALRIGHT, I WILL CALL JUAREZ TO KNOW WHAT DAYS THEY WILL BE CLOSED FOR THAT MONTH.

3. I AM PREDICTING/ASSUMING THAT THE LETTER WILL PROBABLY GET TO ME/US SOME TIME THIS WEEK.......IF NOT, THEN.....

4. MOST LIKELY, I WILL RESERVE HOTEL AND FLIGHTS TO ARRIVE IN CIUDAD JUAREZ ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST. IF I DON'T HAVE THE LETTER, THEN I WILL ASK FOR IT AT THE WINDOW (CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO GO EXACTLY ABOUT THIS? WHAT TO SAY? ETC?).

5. I MIGHT JUST WAIT FOR WEEK OF NOVEMBER 9-14.

IT WILL JUST DEPEND ON HOW THINGS GO.

SEE YA GUYS,

ERNESTO

Ernesto,
You just go to the information window and ask them to print it out. I think I will be doing this as soon as they give me the green light. I was hoping I could go either the week of the 9th or 16th.

I called NVC today and they said Juarez still has not received my paper work. I am starting to get depressed and I am trying not to lose faith but it is hard. I just want to scream girlwerewolf2xn.gif

I hope I hear good news soon.

Andrea

Andrea,

I will most likely go the week of the 9th. You mean give you the green light....when they say they have finished processing and they have sent out the letter right?

I hope you hear good news.

I will call Juarez today after 5 pm. I will keep you guys updated.

Thanks and take care

Thanks everyone,

I think he is wrong in my case as well as Chinman and Genny we all received the letter in the US first.

Don't worry....

Yeah, I guess we just have to wait and see. He did say, however, that it would be sent either in 10 days or that it would take 10 days to deliver (I couldn't remember what that was).

How long did it take you guys to receive the letter in the U.S. after it was sent from Ciudad Juarez (after processing)?

Thanks,

Thanks everyone! We are ready, and that's all we can do is prepare. We practiced all the questions, and I have everything organized in a binder, with divider pockets, we also practiced finding the documents they will be asking for.

Just wanted to mention that they told her to come back at 2:00 to get the medical results, but we got there at 1:30 and they are already started to let people go around back to get their results.

If Juarez wasn't on the news for violence (don't turn on the news when you're here) I would swear I was in Monterrey, to walk to the consulate and back is not bad, and we went to the mall across the street a couple times today, so just go where you need to go, be alert, and you'll be fine!

I'm sorry that he is still waiting for DHL, how come some people get it the same day?

That is a DHL issue, I'm pretty sure his visa was ready since friday or yesterday because was weekend ... DHL guy told me the process and admited that sometimes they have "little delays" to pick them up from Consulate ... unfortunately we don't have choice or way to know where the visa is.

Do you guys know if we can pay extra at DHL to get the Visa delivered faster....in other words, if DHL offers different delivery options?

Is this DHL the same DHL we know here in the U.S.?

Ernesto,
You should really pay attention to up coming holidays. There are quite a few in November. I know on Nov. 16th they are closed. November is not the best month to go to Juarez, but what choice do we have.

Andrea

Andrea,

You are right about that. Why are they closed Nov. 16th? I know Nov. 20th is Revolution Day. But yeah, I am really watching out for those....for instance...I know I will not go during Thanksgiving week. Juarez observes both U.S. and Mexico holidays.

btw, I like the way your are thinking.....that we are very likely to go during next month (November). Hopes are free after all.

Ernesto,
I figured I would wait as well. I don't have plans on going until the 16th so I figured I will have it by then. When do you plan on going?

Andrea,

I think we should be able to get it by then..hopefully. I plan on going ASAP after I get the letter since we have everything. Most likely a week after or so.

I want to get there on Sunday so that we can go to the medical on Monday....and interview on Tuesday....then give it Tuesday, Wed., Thursday, and Friday in case my gf waits for the visa at DHL.

Andrea,

Yeah, last time I called Juarez was about 2 weeks ago. I called NVC last week, and still got the rude/mean ladies on the phone telling me the same thing. So, I will probably call Juarez this Friday (maybe, im getting a little tired of hearing the same thing for $7 a call....sometimes it makes me think that they are saying the same so that I keep calling and getting charged....besides....if our case is processing or not....they don't care).

I MIGHT JUST WAIT FOR THE LETTER/PACKAGE TO GET TO MY MAIL AND NOT HAVE TO THINK ABOUT IT. I DONT THINK IT SHOULD BE THAT LONG ANYWAY.

IT HURTS to find out that my gf will prob. not get her visa the same day. I will be going down there and so I will have to steal vacation days from next year. It depends though.

Take care everyone,

Isi,
I am not sure how much the shots cost in the US but I am sure Roberto is going to have to get some there. He is missing only about 3. Here in Juarez the shots he would have needed cost between 30 and 50 dollars each. They didn't even give him the option of shots because he was in a K1 line. They put K1 no vaccines on his letter from the very beginning in the morning. So when we get to KY he will get the shots there as soon as possible.

Margaret,
I am so happy we are at this hotel. It is so convenient and has free internet. We have gone back and forth between here and the clinic, the consulate and the mall for the past few days. I was so happy we stayed in a hotel this close when we forgot the copies of the DS 156.

Roberto has been in there for two and a half hours, which was just enough time to fill out most of the AOS forms smile.gif

Ernesto,
I think this is what they always say. The NVC knows nothing until the letter has been sent out from Juarez. Several of us called the NVC on a Thursday and the letter was sent out the day before. My advice is don't call Juarez anymore and waste your money. Just keep calling the NVC. In fact call tomorrow afternoon...you never know you might hear some great news!

Sandi

Thanks Sandi,

In other words, does NVC have access to the same information that Ciudad Juarez does? And so, NVC should be able to tell me if Ciudad Juarez has sent out the official letter/package 3? Ciudad Juarez keeps saying "Being Processed" and NVC just told me yesterday that the physical copy has not reached Ciudad Juarez yet. But you are right, I hate to be wasting money on bad news.

Take care,

Ernesto

Hey guys, just wanted to let ya'll know that my SO and I went to Juarez without the appt letter. I called on Friday Sept 18th and they said they finished processing our paperwork and that they would send a copy to my attorney etc. I repeated what she said just to make sure I had heard correctley and she said yes, you can come to Juarez. So I hopped on the bus and left for Mexico on Friday. We letf from Monterrey on Saturday night and arrived on Sunday afternoon. We checked into the hotel and around 6:30 the next morning we left for the information window at the consulate. I was so nervous that the trip would be for nothing. That they would tell us...sorry you need to wait til the appt letter is mailed to you. But no, they gave us a copy. I don't know why more people have not done this. it was such a relief and I was so excited smile.gif

Hope this makes the wait a little shorter and best of luck to everyone smile.gif

I will keep updating this.....it is very interesting, but we hate to wait.

I dont think we want to go to Juarez if they say it is still processing........if they say "no" once there.....I would probably die if i say goodbye to my fiancee for the 5th time.....it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!

Congrats epifreak!!!!

After all that stress before and during the interview and finally being approved I got back to the hotel to take a nap. When I woke up it was around 2 and I checked the DHL website and to my surprise the VISA was ready and waiting for me. I just got back from going and picking it up. I'm just so surprised about how lightning fast the interview and getting the visa was. The medical was another story but whatever it's done.

To answer some of the recent questions.
They are still not using the DS-160.
They did ask me for the DS-157.
At the clinic you can pay with pesos or dollars for the medical exam.
For the visa fee at the bank you have to use pesos.

Regarding the questions about the interview. It's pretty much what everyone have posted. In my case it was very fast. I think it was that fast because we sent a huge I-129F that the interviewer was reviewing. The only thing extra he asked were pictures. That was my case, either way come prepared with lots of things.

Cheers everyone and good luck!

Here someone who went in May was asked for the DS-157.

Whew, thanks Andrea,
Roberto and I just filled it out over Skype. Recently all of our dates are over immigration forms. How romantic smile.gif

Congratulations!

Just a note of clarification: your fiancee's K-1 has not yet been approved. The I-129F petition was approved, which means that your fiancee can apply for a K-1 visa at the consulate (you mentioned Mexico, so it would be in Ciudad Juarez) once the approved I-129F is received there. It first has to go through NVC, however, which can take anywhere from days to weeks—usually days, sometimes much more.

Moving to K-1 Progress Reports...

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!!!

AND THANKS FOR THE INFO

GOD BLESS

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProcessing Times
I'm a little confused about how to read the Processing Times chart. Being a K-1, under the Vermont Service Center is states that it takes an average of 106 days to get from NOA1 through NOA2. Under the National Benefits Center it states that it takes an average of 130 days to get from NOA1 through NOA2.

Does the 130 days stated in the NBC average time include the 106 days at VSC or do I add the two together to get the average time before the application is forwarded to Guangzhou?

Which is correct?

106 days at VSC + 130 days at NBC + 94 days at Guangzhou = 330 days

or

106 days at VSC + 24 days at NBC + 94 days at Guangzhou = 224 days

Thanks! good.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurescancellation of k1 application
If/when you get your P3 packet from the Consulate in your country, return it with a letter stating that this petition is not longer needed. Explain why. The outcome you hope for is that YOU are not flagged as a fraudulent beneficiary, so that in the future, if you find yourself in need to file again, you are not automatically denied. This may or may not work, but it is your only shot if your ex-fiance won't cancel the petition.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaMexico Passport (Problems with Birth Certificate)
QUOTE (eric_and_teresa @ Sep 8 2009, 07:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I'm not sure if it works the same in México but in some Latin American countries, you can request a Notary (you will find him at a law office) to do what they call "Documento de Identificación de Persona" (Document of Person's I.D.) which is basically a legal document saying that the notary certifies that the person is declaring under oath, that she has also used, or responded to the following names: Rosa, Rosa Maria, or any other combination of her name whether is using one or two names or last names, etc. It wouldn't hurt to ask your fiance to contact a mexican law office and ask if they can do that. Once you have that document, they can go to the Passport's Office and present the mother's I.D. together with the Identificacion de Persona.

The other option is to have the birth ceritificate corrected, but that might take longer, your best option is to contact a mexican lawyer on this.

Contacting a U.S. Congressman wont help. This has to do with the Mexican Government Every country is sovereign and part of the Sovereignty, means that they enforce their own laws, without any other country's intervention.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the great responses.......I will get with Yadi and ask her to inquire about "Documento de Identificación de Persona" which may or may not help.....but it is def. worth a try.

Yeah, for the birth certificate correction.....it will take aprox. 8-12 months (and we should be approved sometime late this month or next month)

Thanks everyone for your responses and keep up the good work.

btw I am feeling better with the community here helping out. Thanks again

Wow that really sucks. Unfortunately, I know of nothing the US government could do to help your fiancee get a Mexican passport. TBone suggests contacting your congressman (which can't hurt) but I struggle to see how the US government could intervene in helping a Mexican citizen get a Mexican passport!!

Honestly I think that if anything is to be done it will have to be done on the Mexican side. Really is there no way to make this take less time? I live in Brazil and there is one way always works when you need things to go quickly...which isn't fair, but if it's an option where she lives then go for it! If you know what I mean.

Yeah I know what you mean.....but unfortunately....she is down there and I am up here. It makes things difficult by not being there. I have emailed the director of the institution and have also emailed their appropriate department for this. We are waiting to hear back, since we were told that if you showed proof that you had an immigration process then they would make an exception.

We will keep praying and ask you guys to pray for us too.

Thanks

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaMexico Passport (Problems with Birth Certificate)
We are going through some difficult times sad.gif

First of all, my fiancee is 17 and has been required to have her parents accompany her during passport request. (She is considered a minor)

My fiancee went to get her Mexico Passport and was told by one of the officers that they would not process it.....due to her mother's name being incorrect on my fiancee's birth certificate. In other words, her mother's name is Rosa Maria +Father's last name + Mother's last name and on my fiancee's birth certificate it appears as only Rosa+Father's last name + Mother's last name.........(SO WITHOUT THE MARIA second name).

AND DUE TO THIS!!!!!! THEY DID NOT CONSIDER HER MOM (PRESENT WITH MY FIANCEE) AS HER MOM.

NOW, IN ORDER TO FIX MY FIANCEE'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE......IT WILL REQUIRE 1 YEAR OF PROCESSING....AND WE ARE VERY CLOSE (MAYBE 1 MONTH OR 2) OF GETTING APPROVED. SHE HAS TO HAVE HER PASSPORT IN ORDER TO GET THE K1 VISA IN CIUDAD JUAREZ CONSULATE.

SO, IT IS NOT THAT THERE IS A MISTAKE/ERROR ON HER MOM'S CREDENTIALS......SO WE HAVE TRIED GETTING DIFFERENT WAYS OF IDENTIFYING HER MOM....BUT SINCE THE ID'S NEED TO BE OFFICIAL....THEY ALWAYS MAKE REFERENCE TO THE MOTHER'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND IT IS CORRECT WITH: Rosa Maria +Father's last name + Mother's last name................SO THE PROBLEM WOULD HAVE TO BE FIXED ON MY FIANCEE'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

IS THERE ANY WAY TO HAVE EITHER USCIS OR CIUDAD JUAREZ CONSULATE ISSUE LIKE AN AUTHORIZATION/SEND A LETTER TO MEXICO'S PASSPORT PROCESSING INSTITUTION SO THAT THEY CAN MAKE AN EXCEPTION TO MY FIANCEE'S CIRCUMSTANCE?

OR DO YOU GUYS KNOW OF ANY OTHER ADVICE?

ANY HELP/GUIDANCE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR STUFF.
