Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Perhaps a Dumb Question...
Hi all,

I'm curious... when someone is put on AP, are they given a paper from the consulate stating this?

Thanks!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)I864 or I864EZ
Yeah... but I filed I-864ez (because I met the qualifications to do so), but at my husband's interview they wanted me to send them I-864... doesn't make sense, and they haven't emailed me back as to why. I mailed it off anyways (all the same info as on the "ez") to my husband to take to them....

I don't know why they wouldn't want the ez. The NVC didn't send any RFE's.

It's probably not the correct forum to write about this but o well.

Now I know that it probably sounds like something crazy but I just don't feel like waiting until who knows when to be with my husband. I never thought this would turn out to be SOOO hard.

Now I know that in order to get him over here I need to show proof that I'm working here but I just don't feel like going through this whole process.

They will most probably drop / deny our case when they get to it, huh? Unless through some miracle with a good affidavit they approve it.

Your feedback, encouragements and comments will be greatly appreciated.

It's horrible to be away... it's been almost 8 months for my husband and I, and we've only seen each other 1 week this time when I was finally able to take a few days off of my new job.... I hit rock bottom about 2 months being away.... it gets easier. I think it just becomes more routine to feel like your life is on hold and feel crummy most of the time apart. Now.. his interview is in 1 week (!!!!!!!!!!!), and we hope so much that he will be here in2 weeks.... we'll move into a new apartment I just found... finally get on with our lives together!!!

Only you can decide what is best for your family. Will staying in US, working, possibly saving money... will this be better for you both in the long-run? Would it be just as easy to live in the Dominican for a while and do DCF when able?

Spend some time on visajourney thoughout the process... it's helpful to be connected (even if you don't write anything!) to others going through it and who understand what this feels like. It will be over someday, and I actually believe that it may help the relationship in the long-run.

I know, many people have told me that ithis can be looked at as sort of a test to our love. To see how strong it is and how much it can take. And in a way it's true but to be totoally honest I care to find out. I just got married and I would really like to build a good foundation for us to have a family on. And to think that I have to wait til who know when to do that to then have a family. I mean I don't want to have a child when I'm like 30, lol, but i would like to enjoy my marriage before I have a baby. and this way it's just going to take so much longer.

I just get mad at the fact that people have to put their hopes and dreams basically on hold until USCIS and who ever else decides to aprove a piece of paper so one can be with their loved one. I just don't feel like I want to do that.

Sorry, I'm just venting over here. LOL.

Noone wants to do this. If moving there is a solid option for you, and only you two can determine that, then do what you need to do. Make sure to learn everything that would be involved (i.e. DCF) before you make the decision.

The system does take too long, but this is the system we have to work with... the sooner you deal with this anger the better- you can't let it eat at you. When I'm totally irritated, I try to remember that I choose this- we fell in love and had to be together, but I choose to marry him and begin the immigration process. And there are good reasons WHY it takes so long... but if you complete everything correct the first time around, respond quickly, particularly at NVC, it will move along. Waiting for the NOA2 is the worst.

If you choose to stay in the states, plan a trip that you can look forward to. Talk as much as possible. Maintain your hope by never forgetting to envision the wonderful future.

I would guess almost everyone on here has felt or feels like you do; I know I do. But I just keep thinking about him walking off that plane..... kicking.gif good.gif

It'll happen.

Consular officer can demand anything, just give them what they want.

Is this code for "get a cosponsor"? I have no idea. I hope they can clarify specifically what we need.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview this am- Need Help!
My husband had his interview in Tirana, Albania this morning. He said everything went great and the officer told him that all the paperwork is fine, but that they need "I-864 instead of I-864ez", and that they need another police report from Italy.

My husband is going to fax me the paper, so I don't have exactly what the officer wrote... once I get that I will post agian, but please help.
Why on earth would they want me to do I-864 instead the I-864ez that was submitted??
The NVC accepted the police report from Italy as meeting post standards- why would they want another one?

I'm so confused and frustrated! I emailed the consulate for clarification too.

Any thoughts?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNeed to change I-864 information??
My husband had his interview today. The consular officer told my husband that I must fill out the I-864 (I already submitted I-864ez to NVC-I was eligible to use it).

My question is: Do you think I should just fill it out with the same information I did for I-864 ez, or do I need to add 2008 now? I have my W-2's, but I haven't filed yet, because.. well, I haven't... we have until April. Should I just leave it with 2005, 2006, 2007? They already have my tax transcripts for those 3 years, so I assume they do not need W-2 from 2007.

It just seems so silly to redo it when everything will be the same. I will give them what they want, but I don't know what to do about 08.

Any thoughts? Thank you!
