K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-129F June Filers
I made the call today using the "RFE trick" and had great sucess. No problem getting through to Vermont. Here are the steps I followed:
Call 1-800-3755283
2, then 2, then 4, then 2, then 1, then put in your case number ( EAC AND THE NUMBER OR WAC AND THE NUMBER) then 1, and last 1....the last one will connect you with a live operator...then you say you are calling to inquire about the RFE ( request for evidence ) you got, baically you want to know what they are looking for. They will probably say that they havent issued one and thats when you ask what is the status of your case...say some dumb things like..." someone told me that after a certain amount of time waiting it meant that i have an RFE" or " My lawyer told me i had an RFE" say anything to make them think that you are not playing a trick on them.

The lady told me they are now actually moving May and June K1's, hopefully no mre than 30 days more, for NOA2.
Hope this helps.

Just spoke today to my attorney. The messege is clear, that both California and Vermont are back logged. I am being told most likely NOA2 middle to end of October. Chances for arrival in USA for Christmas are slowly fading away. I guess it will depend on how quickly the NVC in Chicago processes paperwork as well as the Embassy in Bogota!

I have been using enjoyprepaid, for some time now! The rate to call Colombia is 3 cents / minute. Here is the link.

The great thing about this internet based calling card is that they keep records of all your calls, and with an e-mail request you can obtain the records! This is great information and often requested at the interview.

I agree, and do not believe it will be 6 months! Ya never know, maybe they will kick into high gear here real soon. I am hoping by the end of September for NOA2!

We can only hope for mid September! Then we might still have a chance to be together in USA by Christmas!

Great list, thanks for taking the time to compile all this information. I believe September to be a reasonable expectation for some NOA2's from June filers as well. We can only hope that is the case. I am being told to not believe what the USCIS webpage as they are showing that they are only in processing for January.
This is an excellent tool to monitor more acuarately the timeline!

I believe all the Texas Paperwork is being forwarded to California? Not sure, but I have heard that Texas & Nebraska processing centers will be closing soon. You should be able to call the USCIS info. line for an update on these closings. Good luck, we all need some!

Interesting thought, I inquired to my attorney about just that thought on Monday! I asked him specifically if certain countries where processed quicker than others, the reply I got was "not to the best of my knowlage", yet I was also told that it appeared some countries visas went through the USCIS faster than others. So your guess is as good as mine.
It would also appear that the USCIS "pending time for K1 visas" is not accurate per cases he has filed, though Vermont has slowed down, 60 -90 days seems to be more in line with what he has been seeing. Hopefully the process will speed up once we get through the summer months, as they seem to be typically slower, (not to mention they are cutting back from 4 to 2 USCIS processing centers)!

Hi, filed my 129F on June 15 and was recieved on June 18th I am using an attorney (http://www.arctec.com/) John Roth. Though very expensive, very thorough. When I recieved notification of reciept, I am told the expected wait time for approveal (Vermont) is 30 45 days! I am also hearing the real snag is VPC, time will tell. Like other posters I am hoping Christmas will be here in New York with my Columbian fiance!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresquestion about Club Colombia
I can comment on our situation, hopefully it will help you. My wife and daughter recieved their visa's January 18th. We had a document, from the father giving the child permission to leave the country "Permantly", key word here and required. Now that being said, we hit a snag at the El Dorodo Airport in Bogota. The final DAS checkpoint, I say final, because we had to produce the document at the ticket counter as well. We where informed that the document was in fact outdated, this document WE where told was valid for 60 days, ours was 74 days old. My fiance at the time was taken into a room and had to contact the childs father via cellphone to confirm it was still okay to remove the child! This can be a major headache, she was nearly unable to leave. So be safe, yes notorized, and within two months of your departure date. Hope this helps.
P.S. They reminded my wife during her interview, she would need the document, yet never informed us of the timeframe of validity. Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHiring a lawyer, complicated case!

I have decided to go with hiring a lawyer, although it is so costly and i feel quite suspicious everytime i speak to one. However, i feel my case is complicated as my fiance is illegal in the country i met him in (UK) - illegal from beginning to end (got smuggled in the back of a lorry type of illegal, fake documents - the whole shebang). My initial consultations with attorneys seemed to me that his status in another country doesn't really matter, especially if he will be doing the interview in his native country, but i still think that gathering the necessary information might be tricky because of his status in the UK. Our relationship has been going on and strong for three years, so there is no problem proving it. The problem is that it occured in a country he was staying illegally. And we plan on being completely honest with all of this information during the process, so i would prefer to have the backing of someone who at least knows better than me.

Anybody have any comments? Lawyer or no lawyer? any good ones to recommend? I might be going with John F Roth http://www.arctec.com/. $1800 (expensive!) but he refunds your money if you dont get the visa (provided you were up front and legitimate with all the information) which i believe is a good sign and deal, especially since he is about 2x as expensive as anybody else.

Hi, I am using John Roth at the moment, yes expensive, yet so far also very professional. They have a timeline as well on there site that allows you to follow your case. I will say That although I retained Mr. Roth 3 months ago, and have yet to speak personally to him. I have been working with one of his assistant's "Chantel" She is very helpful and very professional as weill. She takes the time to explain the details and is very thorough. Before I even retained there firm, she called my fiance at my request, and spoke to her for me in spanish, I thought that was pretty special. So I would reccomend them.
