K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI 134 with Tax Return????

I have pay stubs for the past 3 months, and a letter from my employer, as well as a letter from my past employer (in honduras) saying how much I made.  I am thinking I am going to have my mom fill out a I 134 too, just in case they will need a co-sponser.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI 134 with Tax Return????

My fiance has his interview in a week and a half, so I am trying to figure this Affidavit for support paper out.  It says that I need to attach last years Tax Return (1040) to the form.  The problem is that I wasn't working in the country last year, or the year before.  So, I do not have one.... What should I do?!?!?!

Can one have their interview in the U.S.? Or does that have to take place in the émigré's home country?

My girl friend will be visiting on a tourist visa. If all goes well and we do decide to wed I am curious if she would have to return to Manila for her interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresResidence question
Have you filed the I-129F yet? If not then I would just say to go back where you can make money. If you filed a while ago then you never know, things could be approved and the way sooner than you think. Regardless, am I correct in thinking that you will have to return to the UK anyway for the interview and medical etc? As well, I have heard that it can take 40+ days to get your police clearance. So these are expenses you will have to incur anyway.

Sorry, I don't see a timeline for you so I'm not too sure about your particular situation. If you fill it in, people may be able to give you more help.

I am in the US now too - same VWP, but am thinking of going back before the 6 month mark is up to earn some money.

Your choice - good luck regardless.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurespls help

Why do you need to put an address on the letters of intent?

In the sample letters we have available to us at VJ, the address is on the letters. To the OP - we used the same address on everything, including the cover letter.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurescertified translations (birthcertificates...) where?
To the best of my understanding (meaning what I have read here) translations do not have to be done by a certified translator but by someone who is competent to translate them. You may want to check out this possibility before forking over that $200.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEvidence documentation.....
The receipts we gave were already marked similar to this:

xxxxxxxxxxxx1234

so we found no need to block out any of the Visa or M/C numbers.

Even if we had given in full credit card or bank statements though, I don't think we would have blocked them out.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSetting a Date?
Hi both of you,

Be careful of doing a 'ceremony' only wedding in Trinidad. You do not want to get caught out at the interview by someone thinking that you are already married. It is VERY easy for the interviewer to simply make a phone call to Trinidad and for the wrong person to say ' yes, it was a lovely wedding' and get a big fat denial stamp. Simply not having a Red House marriage license may not be enough.

By the way, I looked at your photo and don't recognize you, but I grew up in Trini too, so just wanted to say an extra hello to you.

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresand Photos...

The way I put my evidence together is a bit different so I hope it works. I had a cover page for each set of evidence/event (trip, dinner out, party, resort, etc.) Cover page example says: "Trip to Beijing". It has the date of the trip, a little explanation if needed (ex. meet her parents) and bullet points of what is in the set ex. Plane tickets, boarding pass, hotel receipts, restaurant receipts, shopping receipt, etc. Then I had copies of these receipts made fitting as much in letter size paper. Then had the 4 in one photo page all clipped together. So I didn't have all photos grouped together, rather I had all evidences grouped by event. All of the pages are same size to make filing easier. I think that's spoon feeding them enough.

Love it!!
Gotta love the ####### organized people! Our evidence was also numbered and explained on a separate sheet, and then each 'section' of evidence was referenced back!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresand Photos...
Hi Bruce,

I asked this same question when we were organizing our package. What was recommended to me was this ... though this would make sense to you and me and most other people here, you have to assume that the person examining your petition needs to be spoon fed, and as such, will not see multiple pictures printed on letter size paper as fitting their criteria. Wanting to play it safe as much as possible, I simply got prints made from K-mart (honestly though - they would have looked better had I printed them at home ). Part of the 'evidence' portion of our petition was a list of every photo included. The list was numbered, dated and included brief descriptions which tied in to our answer for Q.18. Then we numbered, dated and titled the back of each photo, put all the photos into a labelled ziplock bag and, of course, attached the bag to a blank page. It was the last page of the entire packet.

Just walk the person /reader through your packet and evidence, and as Andy said, make sure to include some primary evidence which ideally, should tie in to your photos.

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Question
We put either N/A or None on any and all lines that couldn't be answered. I simply felt better knowing that I had passed along the understanding that yes, we had seen the question and not that we were not ignoring it, or had missed it. I did not want to leave anything open that could be ambiguous.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEvidence of meeting

Hi Mo, actually Richard is the USC and I'm the beneficiary so it's him who will sign most stuff, I'll just be pencilling in a lot of X's to mark the spots.

Maggie

Sooo sorry Maggie. For some reason I thought you were the petitioner and a guy! Aarrgh.. ok.. I'm removing foot from mouth and retreating to my corner. Round 1 to Maggie, lol

Just be sure that that statement also comes from you. As the USC petitioner, you are the one filling, not your fiancee. I had David (my SO / USC beneficiary :D ) sign and date every page that was not a government form.

Cheers!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEvidence of meeting
Just a note to add my agreement that you should keep the phone bills, emails and chats for the interview process. USCIS is looking for specific things in order to approve your file or not. If you start adding unnecessary items then to me, it would seem to do two things. 1. aggravate the officer to have to wade through your stuff and 2. throw up a red flag making the person think you don't have enough primary evidence.

And primary evidence is somethign you definately do have! If you are worried about your evidence only placing you and not your fiancee (garnered this from your question about the hotel receipt) then do as another member suggested and take a picture in front of a landmark of some sort and/or get something of hers to show that she lives in the area (credit card receipt, utility bill etc.).

Regardless, in my humble opinion, you are in good shape.

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBirth certificate seal?
If you are nervous about your birth certificate, another option is to simply send in a copy of your passport to prove citizenship. Just be sure to copy all pages, even if there is nothing on them. Some people have received RFEs for not having all pages copied.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApproved...NOA2
Wanting to file early, giving yourself lots of times for possible RFE's, processing delays, extra security checks and general hiccups IN NO WAY constitutes an 'hey I'm selfish, let's screw everyone else over' attitude.

If you were using the USCIS or VJ timelines to try to guesstimate when your visa would be approved, up to about 2 weeks ago people would have been advising the OP NOT to plan a wedding in August 2007, saying instead that some people have been waiting 8 months and more to get to the NOA2 stage.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApproved...NOA2

Sorry but Hornet and others have every right to be upset.

To the OP, you had a long standing relations for over 2 years, some parts for 5-6 months together at a time and you still haven't developed "normalcy" in your relationship yet ?

Sounds like you planned to have $XXX amount saved up before you were married.

You never should have filed, you wasted valuable time that could have been used on another person's case.

It's like the idiots on the other forum asking if the interview will be denied since their income is barely above the poverty level.

Hello dumbass, if you are barely supporting yourself above poverty level, why are you wasting everyones time trying to bring someone into this country ?

I am very sorry if this is the general opinion. There is nothing wrong with trying to do things responsibly so as not to add to the already overwhelming debt in the US. There is an absolutely lovely person on this board who has also filed but does not intend to immigrate until July 07 because that is when her US fiance will be back from military service. Have they wasted valuable time too? Will you be the one to look them in their face and tell them that? To the OP - congrats to you - both for receiving your approval and for withstanding attacks like these.
