I was under the assumption that we needed the last 3 most recent and got 2012, 2011, & 2010. Having recently recieved my 2013 I contacted the embassy because we am about to go to our interview in 2 weeks to ask do I need them all and I was instructed that they only required 2012. Once you are at the consulate stage it might be a good idea to contact them if not it is rather to be safe and go with more than needed than less. Good luck.

 

For the case number you can start calling as early as from 1 to 2 weeks after the notification of your approval.

We got approved on the 22nd Jan but have got few questions that  am not clear about.. when do we start calling NVC for our case number? secondly, do we need 2012 tax papers or 2013? we are trying to get every necessary document ready before for time... thanks all.

I just called NVC and they received our case on Friday YAY!

I've booked my medical for the 23rd January as I'm down in London on other business and it will save another 300 mile trip / £80 train fare. I just hope that I haven't booked it in too soon.

 

I didn't know we could book it so early! What do you need in order to book a medical? I thought they had to have your papers at the Embassy?

 

If we can book an appointment this early that would be fantastic for me, being able to space the appointments out would make my life a lot easier, as I will have to travel almost 700 miles (the joys of living in the Hebrides.)

Similar case, mi fiance stay illegaly in usa for 7 months, his entreview was in agost 2013 and they said he canot enter until agost 2014, we are 7 months now from that date, what we should do now?, he call to the embasy and the said not to do all the k 1 process againg, just to reprogram an entreviw, is there anybody with a similar case, i will like to know how to proced. Por favor si alguien tiene un caso similar o ha pasado por este proceso le agradecemos la ayuda que nos brinden, mi prometido estubo illegalmente en usa por 7 meses y en la entrevista le negaron la visa y le dijieron que apli ara a un waiver o perdon, el caso es que estamos solo a 7 meses de cumplir el castigo de 3 años (se cumplen en agosto del 2014), por tal razon preferimos esperar ese tiempo y volver aplicar por la visa, el llamo a la embajada y le dijieron que no tenia que volver a hacer todo el pfo eso de la visa k1 y que solo tiene que reprogramar una cita con la embajada, solo queremos saber si alguien paso por este mismo proceso pues nuestro deseo es obtener la visa el mismo agosto, agradesco de antemano la ayuda y consejos que se nos brinden

 

Was your fiancé over 18 while he was in USA for 7 months? If he was under 18 then the 7 months don't count against him because he was a minor.

I sent in my application for my fiance on July 17, 2013.  I received my NOA1 on July 25, 2013.  I was ready to wait for 5 months, like the wait time says for the California Service Center.  I just got the NOA2 in the mail the other day (August 27, 2013), saying it was approved and was being sent to the consulate in Tegucigalpa.  I am thrilled that it was so fast!! I am wondering if anyone has any insight into why it was so fast?

I'm in the same boat as you. Have been waiting for NOA2 from VSC for my wife and stepson's I-130 petitions since 7/19/2012. That's 7 months and 8 days. :(

I was feeling good when USCIS was estimating 5 months to NOA2, then had a sinking feeling when December came and went, then January, now February and still no NOA2. :crying:

It is a crime that the US government keeps families separated for such unreasonable lengths of time. I am only able to visit my wife and stepson in their country every few months, and my son hasn't been with his stepmother and stepbrother since last summer. At least there is Skype. Thank goodness for that! Still, in many ways, we all feel like our lives and our dreams are on hold. It's just not fair.

Believe me, I feel your pain. Hang in there. After this much waiting, you and me have both got to be nearing the finish line for NOA2.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionwaiting on I-751 decision for over 4 years. What to do?
Well, usually we all say don't bother with a lawyer, but in this case, I think you may need one. The first thing is to gather all your paperwork, all evidence of submitting the I-751 in the first place along with your interview letter and get yourself an infopass appointment ASAP.

Likely, your approval or denial was sent to the wrong address. Perhaps to the old lawyer? Perhaps to your mom's ex-husband. You may be very well approved and if so, then you really don't need a lawyer at all. You will simply have to file for replacement of the greencard since you never got one and good luck trying to prove that it was USCIS's error that you didn't get it after 5 years.

There is conflicting opinions on this board about whether there is a way around not having a physical GC in order to apply for citizenship - ask when you go to your infopass appt.

IF you discover that you were in fact denied, then you will need your lawyer because then you will have been considered to have overstayed and presumably have been working and living illegally here. Also, I'm guessing you want to stay, so yes, get a GOOD immigration lawyer. You are probably outside of the standard appeal window, but you should do some research on that prior to hiring a lawyer.

You all do realize that you are trying to help this man screw over his functionally illiterate wife because he does not like her behaviour when there are MANY more responsible avenues he could be taking?!?!!? NOBODY just wakes up and goes off the deep end for no reason - seriously - this woman was not just born of demon spawn or anything.

I really do hope that this thread gets moved to the "Major Effects" forum so that he can get more constructive advice that he will perhaps listen to. That, or move it to OT because it's fairly pathetic now.

Presumably you did marry this woman in good faith. Is her swearing, and you allowing yourself to be manipulated by her, worth tricking her into deportation?

We didn't block anything and on the whole, we are careful about letting 'sensitive info' get out in the trash etc. We usually shred stuff with our names, address and account info on it.

This is USCIS... they do FBI background checks and credit checks on you throughout the immigration process AND they have your SSN. If the adjudicator really wanted to... trust me .... s/he could get your info whether or not you block anything out. Besides, most identity fraud is not from people who take the money from your account but from people who pretend to be you and totally end up messing up your credit. All the info that is needed to do that (name, SSN, address, previous address and employer, mother's maiden name) is alllllll asked for and you can't block any of it out.

Usually, interviews are scheduled AFTER biometrics. Biometrics happens relatively fast. I would call again. You are outside of the processing time and the answer you were given sounds 'iffy' at best.

Residence, conditional or permanent, is granted for the immigrant to live and work continuously/permanently in the U.S. In order to keep the card valid, you have to maintain permanent residence here. In the rights and obligations information pertaining to the GC, it states that you can lose resident status if you move away from the U.S. to permanently reside in another country. Now, the question that you would need to ask and one that I have not found an answer to is, what do they consider a permanent move?

If your husband has a contract position outside of the U.S. for 3 years, clearly showing a start and end date and you two maintain bank accounts, possibly a residence, insurance etc in the US and file taxes here, then would that be sufficient since clearly the intent is not to move away permanently, but simply for an extended period.

You said that the move would happen 1 year into your conditional status. It may be in your best interest to remain here at least until you can file. But that still doesn't answer my question about whether or not you can then live outside of the U.S. for two more years as a permanent resident.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you but I will tell you that it is because of this scenario that I will be filing for citizenship as soon as is legally possible.

The OP is already out of the country - not sure if there is an office in France to give you a stamp or not. Perhaps the local embassy/consulate?

You could try contacting the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) at https://contact.tsa.....aspx?FormID=60 and ask them if they can point you to an external document that you can print off which shows what the NOA is for.

It is weird that they would not accept your NOA. It says right on the NOA what the purpose of the document is. If I were you, I would simply go to the airport extra early and if the airline folks give you a hard time, as for someone in customs or immigration. Perhaps there is a list of what is acceptable forms of documentation needed to enter the U.S. ... I'll look ... that way you could show them printed info (other than what is already on the NOA) that this is acceptable.

CSC is faster than other service centers. We were also transferred to CSC and got approved within 5 days of transfer, Alhumdulilah.
