So the cheque was chased on August 18, we got notification today and can now access the USCIS website so that I can add to my list of obsessive compulsive tasks. Yay!! So looking at the USCIS page, there is a little table with our case number listed. There is a heading called "Last Updated". Is this where you take your 'touch' dates from? And, will it always only be one line? In other words, will past touches or actions disappear once new activity takes place? OR will it show a complete history? The last date of "Last Updated" is August 19 ... does that mean our case was touched today? I have never been so happy to pay money in my life! No official NOA1 in the maaaaaaaaaaail yet but I guess late Saturday (go figure) the check was cashed and from that I found out that NOA1/reciept date was the 16th of August. YAY FOR PROGRESS! Now to settle in and wait/begin getting a nervous tic when I haven't checked my status online in over 15 minutes Ok, and excuse my ignorance, but help me to clarify something please. When you get your cheque back, and it gives you the number to check out the USCIS site and you go there and the message reads: "Your I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was received on August 16, 2006." - is that your NOA1 date? About email, you wont get messages from USCIS untill you sign up and you will need the case number that is on NOA1 inorder to sign up for the notifications. Sign up for the notice here: https://egov.immigra.../jsps/index.jsp Yup we signed up on the site about three nanoseconds after we received the EAC number from the back of the cheque. I figure that it's because we signed up on Saturday (the 19th) and the NOA date was actually the 16th, that they just did not send retroactive emails. C'est la vie! As for the touches being good or bad? How about I sign up for the 'never get touched' section and they just approve us in hmmm... 10 days. All in favour? Strangely enough - we have not received either email notification or the return slip from USPS yet. Hmm.. anyway .. who cares now?! This also confirms that we were 'touched' on Saturday. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	K-1 Visa	I am currentlyin the US and we filed from here. I'm visiting for as long as the law will allow. Be careful of just marrying 'spontaneously' if your UK fiance has already begun to put stuff in order to leave permanently. I don't know what is involved in that process (or marrying on the spur of the moment and then adjusting status) but it seemed like a risky thing to do when we were researching all options. I don't know what kind of proof they need that the marriage was indeed spontaneous (if any proof at all). Good luck. I guess i should start telling her to get all her info ready, like birth certificate, all i.d's, etc. I will jsut get online and print all the I-239f, and G-325 and bring it with me, so we wont have to get online there and fill it out (especially with all the brown-outs).
