With all of the other October and November NOA2s coming through, I am now officially addicted to this and the USCIS website. This is just plain torturous.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA Touch?

Hi Guys - I check on my status and the "last updated" date is for today. Does this count as a touch?!?!

It concerns me because of the * below.

* Note on "Last Updated" date:
Your case may have a new "Last Updated" date and you may receive an Email Notification of your case being updated, without the status of the case changing. This is due to internal USCIS processing being performed on your Case. This will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date, but may not result in a different status message.

I pray to GOD this is a touch!!!

This may be it, I will keep my fingers crossed. Good luck!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOctober and waiting...

Not that I'm a regular poster but I'm a late October filer (24/10). I've been stressing out waiting, looking at the Texas timelines and seeing I was the only one left in October not to have received my NOA2 ... then just about half an hour ago I received three emails to say it had arrived!!! No touches at all. So yours MUST be coming very soon. I know how you feel though, wondering how you managed to get in the slow pile. It seemed like everyone was getting approved before me! Seems like a very odd filing system is used at the CSC, that's all I can think!

Since the last thread started by and for October NOA1s still waiting, it appears as though I'm the only October (regular poster) who is still waiting.

Am I alone?

I know it's all about patience, but when you are the only person you know left, and they've seemed to move quickly in November, you gotta wonder.

No touches, no nothing.

:(

We were the same time frame, mine just came yesterday. I was beginning to wonder the same thing. Keeping my fingers crossed for ya.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRound trip ticket required for entry with a K1?
If you buy tickets on Delta, using their 800 number, you can get e-tickets so no need to mail. Also, they don't ask for any of the passport info as they must show their passport at the airport. If she is far from Moscow and needs internal Russian flights that may be a different story. It is usually cheaper to buy round trip tickets, but not required. Many travel agencies in Russia still are following a lot of the old Soviet rules, so this may just be their interpretation of the rules.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG325A Error Made - Worried!
My advise would be complete a new set of G325A for yourself, sign them, date them with the date you actually sign them and send them to your fiance'. That way, if there is an RFE, he has them in his possession and can forward to the Service Center as soon as he gets the RFE. That way, he doesn't have to wait on you to send the documents, they are in his possession and it will minimize the delay, if they do indeed give you and RFE.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBank Statements
If you are just filing the I129F you need proof that you have met within the past 2 years. This is best done with passport stamps, or plane tickets and pictures of you two together. Typically, a bank statement would not show this. The bank statement would come in handy at the interview however, but that is a few months away.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestions about RFE
The most important evidence was what you did not send, that was the entrance and exit stamps on your visa. Send that and a couple more pics of yourself and your fiance and write when and where the picture was taken on the back, will suffice. You need to make sure your copies of the visa are prominent....all the other stuff that you are talking about collecting isn't that important.

Since I won't return I am in doubt about the rules.
How and what do this Immigration Officer look at this?
Is there any limit to return?

You can only do a return 331 days from todays date.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhy doesn't my fiance have to give me a birth certificate when I file the I-129F?

Why doesn't my fiance have to give me a birth certificate when I file the I-129F? I see the guidelines listed here only ask for my birth certificate.

The birth certificate in the I-129F is for verification of your US citizenship....., but it doesn't have be a birth certificate. You can send a copy of all the pages of your passport. But you have to provide somethings that proves you are a US citizen. (if a naturalized citizen, you could also submit certificate of naturalization)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 Question
I am bringing my fiance and her daughter over on a K-1 visa and the instruction say to fill out a form for each person. The child who is only 12 is listed on the I-134 that I did for her mother, but the instructions say one for each person. So, I need to fill out one each for mother and daughter? Warsaw is the consulate where our case resides.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNVC Adminastrative REVEIW

I just found out we are in Adminastrative review.. What is this? and why? :help:

I have read in some of the threads or maybe on the Moscow embassy website (don't remember exactly), that it is not uncommon for some of Russian Beneficiaries to take up to one month to clear the background check. I know you don't want to hear be patient, but from what I have read, I wouldn't worry until the one month mark.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTexas to California service center
Texas and Nebraska SC don't process K-1's anymore, so TSC and NSC applications are sent to the CSC. On average, it is about a 3 month wait for the NOA2 approval. Trust me, none of us like to wait and we get addicted to checking VJ and the USCIS websites. Try to be patient (I know it isn't easy) and the best of luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPassport notarizing
You don't have to have the passport notarized. You need only the copies of the passport pages. I used my birth certificate, but some have said on here they only sent pages that contained official documentation....everything except the blank pages.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurestimeline..can be like this?
My advise is to believe the timelines, but realize that sometimes certain peoples get delayed for no known reason. When this happens, it frustrates because the expectation is that the process will be just like everyone else. Patience is a virtue in this process.
DanNNinaMaleBelarus2007-04-07 18:49:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMisspelled middle name, kind of!!!
I don't think it will be a problem. My fiance's daughter was spell differently on the English translation of her birth certificate and her passport. It wasn't mentioned until I brought it up at the embassy. They said they will spell the visa like the spelling on the passport. I am not sure they would have caught it at all if I hadn't said something. So, I don't think it is any big deal

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGot REF, need some help...
When I submitted my documents I also printed out a copy of my Frequent Flier information. If you are a member of a Frequent Flier Program, points are given for the flights actually flown, and for the most part can be used as evidence that the flights were actually taken. Especially if your passport has the same dates stamped in them.

I disagree, I have had the USCIS lose things, only to miraculously to be found after months of inquiry. It is only through persistence that you can assure that things stay on track. Follow up.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresk-2 question

For sure!!! So your best suggestion is to leave behind my son! -.-! :bonk:

I'm not offering a suggestion. If you want your child with you in the US, he must come in as a citizen. If you don't want him to be a citizen, then he must stay in Peru. You have 4 choices:

1. Move to the US with your child and be with your fiance.
2. Move to the US and be with your fiance and leave your child in Peru.
3. Stay in Peru with your child and leave your fiance in the US.
4. Stay in Peru with your child and have your fiance move to Peru.

The first option requires your child to claim US citizenship.
The last 3 options allows your child to not claim his US citizenship.

Those are your choices, not my suggestions.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresk-2 question
Your child has a claim to US Citizenship. He cannot enter the US on a Visa, he will not be issued a visa. If he enters the US it will be with a US passport because he is a US Citizen. If you don't want him to decide until he is 18, he will not be able to enter the US until he is 18. If you don't want him to be US Citizen, then leave the child in Peru. Very simple, this is not complicated.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 and US citizen child
Once you child has a US passport, and you have your visa, you both can enter. There won't be an issue.

Delta is a cashless airline once you enter the US. Once in the US they will not accept cash.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFrustrated with USCIS
In my experience, the USCIS handles changes of addresses very poorly. My wife's nephew won the green card lottery, and I sponsored him, but we moved a month after his arrival in the country. We sent in a change of address to get his green card forwarded. I had moved to Chicago, about 6 blocks from the Immigration office there. It took 3 INFO trips to the immigration office, including having fingerprints taken and supplying passport photos (3X). Since he was required to register with the selective service, and they were able to keep track of his presence, I asked if I would need to bring the media when we returned? I stated he was here legally and the USCIS wasn't able to keep track of him or his location and they had no records of his previous INFO Pass appointments (we did and the name of the IO we spoke to). I was offered a supervisor and she said that there was an issue in the El Paso and we weren't the only ones complaining (She said it had become a black hole, things went in and never came out). She asked me to give them 3 weeks. Thirteen months after he arrived in the country he finally received his Green Card.....and 3 "Welcome to America" letters.
