K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsRFE response that they received new information.

It was a long time and the worst wait of this whole journey. But as they say some things are worth it. I have my interview on Monday Aug 12 at 12pm. I am flying to Costa Rica tomorrow morning to attend the interview with my baby.. pray for us :) and keep looking on visa journey or my facebook Stephanie P Quesada or xlsweetstufflx@aol.com. pura vida

How exciting! You're almost there! I'll be praying for you two :-)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsRFE response that they received new information.

My RFE was from April 26th and I finally received my NOA2 on July 8th... It was honestly the longest wait of the entire process.. kind of like a teeter totter... Your there, but not... horrible wait..

If you do call, they will tell you to wait, even though  I did call every other day and bugged them, I like to believe they cleared me quckly because I was annoying.. ;p

Good Luck

That's a long time... I really hope it doesn't take that long for me. Do you guys have an interview date yet? I would love to hear about your experience at the embassy :-)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsRFE response that they received new information.
Is this normal? I thought the case would be updated only once it was approved. Is it normal to get a message that they received my response to the RFE.

"On August 5, 2013, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use the processing time information on our website to estimate when this case will be done. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

Maybe I worry too much :(

Thanks everyone! When I get back to the states this week, I'll call again. Hopefully with good news!!! Seems a bit exaggerated that it would take this long to get from the CSC to the NVC.... But we've waited this long, a little longer won't kill us ;-)

My k-1 petition was approved August 14th at the CSC, but I've yet to received any further notifications that it's been received by the NVC.... Is this normal? This week will be 7 weeks since the petition was approved. Is it possible that it's been sent to the embassy in Costa Rica without any notifications? (Emails, texts, or updates on the USCIS website)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionChronopost Envelope

Hi I was wondering if someone could help me out with this my fiance is a portuguese citizen and we will be going to the Paris embassy for her interview as they are no longer doing those in the Portugal embassy. Anyway according to the Paris embassy website "Each applicant is required to provide a Chronopost envelope (2 kg) 25x36cm for the delivery of his or her visa by mail.  Those resident in Portugal must purchase a Chrono Express European Union (2kg).  Envelopes can be purchased at La Poste in France."

I don't speak French and my fiancee's is limited but she said the only envelope that seems to fit this request, is not really an envelope but a box (http://timbres.lapos...rsist=&nbItems=)

Can anyone that has been through this process confirm if this is the correct 'envelope' and if we can buy it online through the laposte.fr website or if it is only possible to do so in an actual physical post office in Paris?

Many thanks in advance  for your help

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsinvalid application ID?

Go to: https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

Click on Check My Visa Application Status under the IMMIGRANT category

Make sure your you enter the correct case #.

This is the format: ABC0123456789

(3 letters + 10 numbers)

Like mine is is MNL2014522### (edited last 3 numbers for security reasons)

Yeah that's what I have. So I assume that it is not normal for it to not be in the system by this point? It's been 5 days now since they mailed her the 3rd package. I guess i'll call the NVC back and confirm the ID # for a 3rd time. Maybe have her email the embassy to see what's up.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsinvalid application ID?

Where are you at where you have to put in a country. Here is the link just to be sure you are at right place.

https://ceac.state.g...AKjMWCuebHqOw==

I was under non-immigrant visa, but even under immigrant visa it just says "your search did not return any data" :/ I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be immigrant or non-immigrant, so I googled it and it said a K-1 visa was non-immigrant so that's where I've been going. But I've been trying both daily.

laurenandmarisaNot TellingPortugal2014-01-24 01:25:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsinvalid application ID?

So I called the NVC and got my case number and it wasn't working on the CEAC site. Called back, the woman told me that's because the embassy had not recieved our case yet. It has been 2 weeks since it had left the NVC and finally I had my fiancee email the embassy to see if they recieved it as i've been putting our case number in on the CEAC site daily to see if they had recieved it, and when she got the reply it said that it had been recieved and package 3 had been sent out on Monday. Is this normal? She lives in Portugal but their embassy doesn't process visas anymore so the case is in Paris. The non immigrant visa section has the location option but I dont know if i should be clicking France, Paris or Portugal, Lisbon. I assume its France as that's where our case is but no matter what I click it gives me an invalid application ID or case number. I got this case number from 2 seperate people so I don't think its the wrong case number. Should I just wait for it to show up in the system or should it already be in the system as they've sent the package already.

USCIS Service CentersToday on Barak Obama FB page. Let's Storm it!
I posted on there too. Said that the purpose of fiance and spousal visa is to reunite families as well and that many people could post pictures and stories that are just as heartbreaking. Said that it´s not fair that legal immigrants are being punished for choosing the legal route with unreasonably long waiting times and referred to CSC.
I said all of this in a very civilized way though :) I know we all want to vent but I think one is more likely to be taken seriously if they express themselves eloquently and respectfully.

USCIS Service CentersCSC some sign of life

Agreed. Call me a conspiricist but I agree that the reason we are seeing more and more dec filers approved is so they can balance out their averages for their regulator or ombusman. Lucky for those guys I guess. And outrageous for those on 7,8,9 months since NOA1

Totally! I mean, it´s ok for a corporation to have that kind of a businessy approach, but a government agency??? :wow:
Jaz&BryFemaleGermany2013-04-10 06:39:00
USCIS Service CentersCSC some sign of life

At least two of the four have posted here saying they were NOT expedited and did not do anything special and were quite surprised by the fast approvals.

I really don't know what to think about the December approvals ... other than the possibility with the flooding ("plumbing issues") if they moved stacks of applications around in a hurry to prevent damage, then it's possible that some officer simply grabbed the topmost stack, or that the files are now completely chaotically arranged?

Not that there can be anything more chaotic than CSC already was!

I think they just want to achieve their 7.5 months average. That´s why they throw in some more recent filers. It gets them closer to that goal in a short amount of time instead of just going ahead processing the old cases in correct order. Not saying that is ok or even fair. It´s all "cosmetics" to make the numbers look better.

USCIS Service Centerstrying to understand the CSC

i agree. it is addictive. but i can't blame anybody for checking daily. we are all in the same boat, banging our heads against the walls.
time wouldn't matter so much, if we could wait with our loved ones at our sides. but it's not that easy to combine two lives across the globe WITHOUT that visa. it's the epitome of frustration.

I´m officially addicted too! Don´t even recognize myself anymore, I´m on this site all the time, it´s the first thing I think about when I wake up, how terrible is that!
But Narnia, I think it´s a good sign that CSC has actually started working on K1s again and is able to crank out that many in just one day. You will be up soon! And me too, a few months later, and we will be with our sweethearts in Cali!
Viel Glück (F)

USCIS Service CentersUSCIS processing times website

My question is, after they finish these Nov-Dec files to adjudicate, will they move to adjudicate January filers or will they go backwards? I'm soooo curious now:P
And another question...when they'll update their charts and processing times for April, if they include the Nov-Dec approvals, how are the processing times going to look like? 1st of December? If it's gonna be around that date, a lot of people could put in a service request then.

That´s exactly what I asked myself, too. (I´m a January filer).

After they´ve decreased their average processing time by approving those December filers, I think they will most likely return to working on the old 2012 cases before continuing on to January.

But who really knows? It´s extremely unpredictable. I am tired of guessing and making assumptions that only turn out to be wrong.
I am simply glad they´re back to working on K1s again.
Jaz&BryFemaleGermany2013-04-13 10:19:00
USCIS Service CentersDid k1 CSC PROCESSING TIME JUST CHANGE?

It's not necessarily a bad sign... as blindly optimistic as this may sound. It took them a LONG time to update last time, and this time it was only a few weeks later. We all knew the wait times were crazy long and not being reflected properly. Now they have owned up to it. If what some members have been reporting from emails received from the ombudsman is true, then CSC is preparing to place emphasis on I-129f again. In the past (much of last year), CSC has shown that they CAN crank these applications out pretty fast. The glass half full hope is that now they are ready to hit the backlog, have updated the averages, and will proceed to get them down as much as possible.

Is that too optimistic? maybe. maybe not.

Thank you for saying that!!! That´s what the optimist in me is thinking and hoping too! Once CSC focusses its attention back on I-129Fs again, they may just crank them out en masse.
At least they´re being more realistic now with the 7.5 months, that way new filers have a better grasp of what to expect as far as waiting times go....
unlike some of us who were completely stunned by the sudden delay and had to come up with a plan B as to what to do with our lives when actually we were supposed to be with our partners already.
Jaz&BryFemaleGermany2013-04-04 16:32:00
USCIS Service CentersThe CSC I-129F Frenzy

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the petitioner. I am a naturalized citizen and I used to have an alien registration number. I can't remember but I think the I-129f form asks for your alien registration number. It could be that the system is deleting the alien registration number of the petitioner. Did anyone get this message who is not a naturalized citizen and never had an alien registration number? In any event I would be very surprised if you didn't get a case update today.

I don´t think the alien registration number relates to the petitioner. My fiance is a USC through birth in the US and we still got the same message.

I assume the beneficiary is assigned that number since he/she is the alien.

I think only since the beginning of the new year they change the alien reg, number immediately after receipt of the petition.

Back in 2012, they did not change it before they actually picked up the file and worked on it.

So if a 2012 filer receives that message, it could mean their NOA2 is coming up.

For 2013 filers, it doesn´t really mean anything, I believe, since it comes shortly after NOA1.

USCIS Service CentersPossible cause of service center slowdown?

So I hope I am not correct but looks like H2B visa were delayed because of a court order, and now they are allowed to approve. They will also allow premium processing starting today.

I can't help and think this is why CSC is slowing down in the last 2 days. The timing seems right.

Again I really hope I am wrong, and someone can prove me wrong but for now.. sad.png

USCIS Link -> H2B visa news release (click me)

Let´s not give up hope yet and continue watching what they do until the end of the week.

I thought there could be a correlation with the VJ site not working properly and people being unable to update their timelines for a couple of days. Right when this site was being updated is when we stopped seeing that huge amount of approvals.  I am assuming that not everybody checks this site several times a day and possibly thought they´ll come back later when it´s working again,

Just a thought, but we can only guess.

Jaz&BryFemaleGermany2013-05-01 15:01:00
USCIS Service Centers15 approved petition everyday?

It's been over 20 a day recently for I-129F petitions, which is unusually/absurdly fast. VJ members only represent about 5-10% of all applicants per visa class, remember. Just a few weeks ago, we had 0 approvals per day for many many days (less approvals per month January-March than per day for the last week). At this rate, I've calculated that December should be roughly finished up in about 2.6 weeks, which means CSC will be operating within their 5 month timeframe again. If the current rate continues, of course.

Once the backlog is clear, CSC approvals will most likely drop again to a steady rate to keep in line with the 5 month goal.

Yup, CSC is moving insanely fast at the moment!

No reason to complain whatsoever if they keep up that pace.

Don´t know how correct your estimate is though. I think it´s really hard to tell and CSC has been extremely unpredictable lately. It´s good to have hope though!

Hope things speed up for VSC people again, too.

I just looked at those WAC numbers on the USCIS site and I see quite a few alleged "address changes" among those cases! It´s not plausible that all of those people actually changed their address, is it?

I´ve read several times on VJ how the website shows illogical info that doesn´t make any sense.
But does it mean that those cases at least have been touched then?

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)German people...rührt euch!!

So, ein mal auf Englisch weil es schneller und einfacher ist für mich. smile.png

We haven't had the interview for my husband's visa yet, and his medical is this coming Friday in Berlin, but I've already started pricing how much it will be to send boxes from Germany (Dresden) to California. We are not taking all of our belongings, but some things that hold sentimental value will be brought with us.

I'm already afraid that we will not be able to fit all of our clothes in our bags, so it looks like we will have extra baggage regardless of if we bring sentimental things with us.

In any case, did anybody else send boxes to the USA? If so, what company did you use? Or did you pay for extra baggage to be brought on the plane with you? The prices just seem outrageous right now! With Lufthansa (our preferred airline), it looks like it's going to cost 150?-450? per box. And shipping with FedEdx or UPS will be 250? or more per box. This is for a box 18*18*25, with an estimated weight of 10kg. That just seems ridiculous to me.

Any advice would be awesome. Und auf deutsch geht auch. smile.png

Hi Veronica,

I used DHL to send some boxes with clothing and household goods to California. A box that weighs up to 10 kg costs 47 ?, a box up to 20 kg costs 68?. The measurements can be up to 120x60x60 cm, that is huge,  I did not even use boxes that big because they would have gotten too heavy to be properly packed and stable. That´s why I split up my stuff and mailed 6 different boxes. Take a look at the website www.dhl.de.

Also, some airlines offer 50% off on additional bags if you pay online beforehand. I am flying with KLM and my extra bag only cost 56 ?!

Where in Cali will you be staying?

Liebe Grüße,

Jasmin
