Tonight at dinner, my mother explained how nice it will be for Leidys to come into our family. She just lost her husband of 47 yrs. to cancer last month. I'm not the only one to benefit from this K-1 visa.

Haven't thought about when to get married yet. I just want him in the country first. Plus most likely it'll be small. A few friends, a cake, some champagne. Done. We want to have the BIG wedding in Africa.

we are doing the same thing, we just said we'll get married in california just as soon as they approve us, then have a big wedding back home in Australia, I've seen some really nice places on the Sunny coast for a beach wedding.
"Sigh"

Try Oceano Dunes SVRA south of Pismo Beach, CA. good.gif You'll want to stick to the north side of the park - your wedding party can park their vehicles and you'll have facilities and not too large of crowds. The place is magical and you can return there on your anniversary - or just to rent quads!! kicking.gif

Tomorrow (Monday) will have been the two week point since I mailed my K-1. On Tuesday, that will be the 2nd week since the package was received. The check has not been cashed, either.

I'll be traveling to Barranquilla in July with my mother to introduce her to my fiancee's family. How cool is that!! kicking.gif

Today, Mom asked the question, "How much longer until Leidy's gets to come here?" star_smile.gif

My fiance and I are tentatively thinking of next January.

I met the parents and asked their permission on President's Day weekend. So, that might be a fitting weekend for us to marry in 2010. I am just curious to find out how long our documents will take to be processed by the CSC. wacko.gif

I had to cook and clean for my American wife because she was sick with Systemic Lupus, and I wanted her to be a successful person in spite of it all. She joined an Eastern Cult, started making crazy (financial) demands, and went in her own direction - the divorce was a blessing. She regrets everything she caused. I'm much better off not marrying another spoiled American brat.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Petition, Photo Presentation

Hi Fellow VJ'ers

This is my first, of no doubt many, posts. So please be gentle :D My question relates to how people displayed their proof of meeting photos in the Petition. From reading these boards, I know that people have done this in different ways. Just interested to see the most popular method. And yes, i know it is only secondary evidence, so won't be printing out a whole pile. My Fiancee wants to do 2 per page secured with photo corners, with captions underneath which will be replicated on the back of each photo. Sound Good??

Thanks in advance. Let the journey begin!!

This will work just fine. Get the petition out because time's wasting!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 after having filed for k3 in the past
My wife and I endured a K-1 interview and an AOS interview (all within the past 11 months), *after* I previously filed in January'08 for a different beneficiary. Things did not work out with the other woman, she broke up with me, and I met someone else.

The K-1 Interview was about half an hour in length, and our AOS Interview was 55 minutes in length due to my wife coming from a, "High Fraud Post" (Bogota, Colombia) and because I previously filed a K-1 that I had my lawyer drop after it was approved.

My advice is to have your evidence of an on-going relationship organized, and carry plenty of evidence to your interview. Your Adjustment of Status (AOS) interview may revolve around the topic of the K-1 that ended in divorce, but it will not determine your outcome. Everyone knows that relationships sometimes end that way, and your proof of a loving relationship will not hinder your outcome because of what happened in the past. My situation was much different, and we were approved nonetheless.

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow much do you need to make

im thinking about submitting my application for my fiances visa but I am self employed and my tax return shows a negative of -$18,000. I know this year my tax return will be totally different and I will be in the positive but Im wondering what is the minimum you need to make for the application to get approved?

I think you should wait until after you file your taxes in 2011 (Feb. 2011) to also file your K-1:
http://www.visajourn...content/support

I-134 Info: http://www.uscis.gov.../form/i-134.pdf

K-1 Forms: http://www.visajourn...content/k1forms

During your Adjustment of Status meeting, you will be asked to show your joint bank balance, how much $$ is in your account, and other stuff like health insurance, and if your new wife and you are on public insurance like Med-i-Cal, for example. Just be aware that these issues could creep up, and affect your case.

Good luck,

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow did you organize your K1 packet?
This packet will follow you to your SO's embassy for the interview. Make sure it is 110% complete, and follow the 'Example Forms' and 'Visa FAQs' formats listed in the links above. I did everything myself (including the AOS) and not a problem with my paperwork (except for a missing signature on an AOS form). These guides work - just take your time and proofread the paperwork over 3-5 days. Good luck!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 April 2012 filers

We were supposed to be March filers, but I'm not done getting everything together yet! I'm in grad school and a full time teacher, so my things that have actual deadlines have been getting more notice than the application! I plan on sending it off by the end of this week though. So count me in as an April filer! (our 90 day window opened March 24th)

I had also planned on being a March filer, but my Teaching work also got in the way. Thankfully, I have this week off, so I plan on taking care of this paperwork right away. Good to see a familiar face!

Philippinesawaiting k1 interview and uncertain what we must do to get it scheduled

I tried a k-1 visa several years ago and things did not work out for my fiancee at the time and I. I brought her over but it seems she had other plans that she came over for instead of marrying me. but at that time the Manila Embassy sent an actual physical packet of forms and list of doccuments your filipina fiancee needed for the interview, and detailed instructions,to her along with the notification she was eligible for scheduling, and then scheduled the medical appointment and interview a week apart a couple of months in the future, to give her time to get all the papers together prior to her interview. so all we had to do after the packet arrived was complete the forms gather the necessary supporting documents and wait. thats what the talk about recieving a packet is about. some of us didnt realize they'd stopped sending packets. Thanks from all of us playing catch up to the new way of doing things, for the heads up. The embassy is very closed mouthed about it. too bad they didnt say on thier website.

In any case I now have a new fiancee, a really good woman i love dearly and miss very much. we spent last summer, the most beautiful of my life, together, on her beautiful island basking in the sun. and want to be together again soon. we were worried about the same issues, of when will we have our interivew scheduled, as the whole process went really fast UP TO TO THE LETTER FROM THE EMBASSY 9 july 2010, stating my fiancee was eligible for scheduling an interview, then all stopped, dead in the water, like an aircraft carrier with all but one mmr dead and the rudder stuck in a hard right turn. we were waiting for the packet to arrive and to be told an interview was scheduled, and checking the website where you can enter your case number to see if you have an interview, for 4 months, til the other day it stoped opening when clicked. we had no idea what had happened to our case. because up to that point it'd been just like the first time i did it, only much faster. now we were very lost and disappointed. we did eventually download and complete the online packet, and somone told us that case number check site hadn't worked since 2008. but the Embassy could save everyone a lot of heartache, panic, and unnecessary research by prominently posting big procedural changes like this on thier website. those of you who now know the embassy no longer sends a packet, are you saying they no longer schedule the medical exam and interivew anylonger either, without us calling them on thier toll line? that line existed the first time too but then just to accelerate the process. now it seems like were being told how long before the interview we need to schedule the medical exam, as if were the ones to do the scheduling, instead of being told when its scheduled. if thats true its ok but we need to know these things, in order to be doing them, in a timely fashion, instead of just sitting idly waiting for something that isnt comming.

one site also says we should complete and send some of the papers back to the embassy. I just saw that today. the first time the embassy said dont send any papers, just bring them all to the interview. So are we supposed to send any papers, now or just bring them all to the interview, like before?

is it now a necessity for us to call the toll number in order to get an interview? I have also seen mention of a ds-230. is that something we now do for what is technically a nonimmigrant visa?

someone asked me the other day if military retirement and social security are sufficient for income as long as they meet the poverty guidelines, and i didnt know the answer, so id like to ask that too.

I looked at hundreds of timelines today on other peoples cases, and the time from NOA2 to interview ranged from 3 weeks (extremely short) to 5 months (very long) normally most were between 2 and 3 months, so i guess the answer to how long is between 3 weeks and 5 months, now that were pushing 5 months we got worried, because we saw little hints here and there that we may need to call. and the downloaded poacket seems very different from what many people say is required. also since its been soo long waiting for interview, some of our papers are becomming old. i did the affidsavit of support, I-134 when i first started the process and its now 8 months old. does anyone know if thats ok?

Daag and Jane timeline: 9 Apr 2010 submitted petition, NOA1 13 Apr 2010, NOA2 15 Jun 2010, letter from NVC 24 Jun 2010 sending package to Manila US Embassy, 9 July letter from Embassy stating fiancee eligible for scheduling of interview. then silence for 4 1/2 months. thats the last we heard.

My opinion is that if you are going to mail something internationally, and you want it to arrive, it had better be sent with tracking data. I sent my fiancee a letter and a t-shirt, and it never arrived, and I chose not to have the package tracked nor insured. Lesson learned.

Cool. Drink your 6 pack, then get out and away from the computer. Focus on an activity away from the relationship so that you don't think about this setback too much. What helps me is that I am active in my 4WD club both in the San Diego area as well as in Tijuana, Mexico. Tomorrow is a big event, and I'm producing the event video. This is helping speed things up. Since I can't speak to Onelis at the moment (because her barrio's phone system doesn't work), I am out, not stressing over her cities poor infrastructure - stuff I cannot do anything about.

Go out and rent a DVD or buy a CD, hang out with your friends, but also feel free to vent when you need to...

We had a wonderful time, and the guests said this was their favorite wedding ever. Suzanne made all of the flowers by traveling into Downtown L.A. to the flower Market to buy all of the materials, and she made the corsages and bouquets herself. Everything was 1st rate, an inexpensive because we cut out so many "middle-men."

Always remember, when you call somewhere and say the word, "Wedding" the price multiplies.
