Does the Packet 3 shortcut apply to your Consulate in Senegal? That's where you fax pertinent info to the Consulate there in anticipation of attaining an interview much sooner. I have been told it can cut 30 days from your Interview time.
Never heard of a shortcut.

This is in reference to faxing information that will be requested by your Consulate in order to get your Interview date sooner. In the "Colombia Club II" thread there is lots of discussion about this (US Embassy and Consulate Discussion).

I can't bear to think that it might be another 5-6 months before I see Lamine. I can't.....Senegal has about 60 days between NOA2 and interviews, but I'm going to cling to the thought that some of those people just weren't ready to submit all the paperwork, etc. I know it's not very realistic, but for the sake of my sanity, I'm clinging to that thought.

"April is the cruelest month" - TS Elliot

In April, my father urged me to file my K-1 so that he could meet my fiancee Leidys. He died 1 week later in the hospital of Cancer, and a few days after his funeral, I completed my K-1 package, and the next day I shipped it via USPS.

Now, my mother is holding her breath along with me over our NOA2.

USAGroom, I applaud your vigilance in keeping us informed about processing dates with the CSC as I am too busy to focus on any 1 thing at a time (Master's Degree on-line, 40 hr. work/wk, tending to 2 households, etc.).

After I return from Barranquilla in late July, I'll start focusing on that NOA2, and Packet 3.

-Ken

Sorry to hear about yr Dad, that mut suck big time!

In a couple of weeks, my Mother will experience a change of pace while Leidys' family will become introduced to an important part of my family. I'll keep everyone here posted with a few photos of our coming together, and I hope the NOA 2 arrives soon as well.

I will be leaving in exactly 3 weeks with Mom to visit Leidys and introduce my Mother to Leidys' family. I wanted to be on stand-by all summer, saving what I could for our wedding, but my Mother is depressed and now angry about my Father's passing in April. This visit couldn't come at a better time. rose.gif

I feel exactly the same way. Leidys and I keep skipping fun things to do alone, because we would prefer to do them together. Plus, going alone just isn't much fun. For instance, next weekend, I want to see the Electric Daisy Carnival, but going alone is the pits. I still might go, because it is painful having to always do things alone - if I get out to do them at all. My friends have outgrown this sort of thing, but I still love the music, and listen to it everyday. Leidys would go with me, so I still have the option of waiting until next year. We would just avoid the scarry rides! wacko.gif

Question: Do on-line notices arrive before written NOA2s? Leidys is going to prepare by getting her Passport in advance so that we can Fax the biological info to the Consulate when the NOA2 arrives. We have some additional papers to file with Packet 3 that we will begin signing as well.

I've had a few years of intensive Spanish review with help from co-workers on the job. When I met Leidys' family, they all asked me, "What part of Barranquilla do you come from?" So, the accent, vocabulary, and verb tenses all work fluidly...almost. I want Leidys to learn English, but I figure its best for one of us to be able to communicate 100% with the other before we start studying different languages. You must be looking at something else because I just went to Hotwire.com and cheapest was $2010 for one stop RT flight, $1587 for 2 stops. I have no idea what you see but I leave mid-July and come back mid-August. Unfortunately that is not a cheap time to fly to China.

If you are departing on a weekend and returning on a Sunday, your airfare is typically higher. Demand drives prices, and not many travelers are vacationing in ColOmbia. Reservations for hotels are not necessary unless you are traveling during NYE or February (during Carnivales).

Oh, and you keep spelling the name of the country incorrectly.

I see my girl twice a day and we talk for hours. We are not kids, we are older and can wait for things. Money does not grow on trees and it costs me about $3000-$5000 per trip. Did I mention she lives 7000 miles away in a communist country? While other maybe can jaunt to their girls, going to China is an expensive ordeal. 15 months does feel like an eternity but if our family can save $5000 by waiting 3 more months then you understand the dilemma.

Example:
Chicago to Bogota, Columbia= $385
Chicago to Guangzhou, China= $1969
