K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	April 2009 K-1 Filers	Greetings from Bogota, Colombia - the city shrowded in fog/clouds. I´m stationed exactly 2 blocks from the U.S. Embassy, but at the moment, on Carretera 70 waiting for Leidys´ Medical Exam to be completed. The city is a much different environment from the Northern Coast. Sightseeing is an activity reserved for the idle rich rather than a simple VJer like myself. For Example: A trip into the nearby mountainside to check out a trendy brew pub would cost $45USD per person each way - taking the Transmilleniu Public Transportation. A simple day trip from Barranquilla to Santa Marta del Rodadero by comparision would cost roughly $45 for two persons, meal included. Leidys and I went this morning to have her TB and blood work performed, and I checked out this cool park on the mountainside near Carrera 38. The photography speaks volumes of the local environs, just too bad it is so expensive to travel the countryside. With all of the Medical exams being completed today, Leidys and I plan to have a VJ reunion with some local Bogotans tomorrow afternoon. Wednesday morning is the Visa Interview, and we´re both anxious and excited for what is to come. WeLoveBogota.com has an excellent apartment that Leidys really loves. She keeps telling me the apartment is so nice, that it makes her feel as if we are already on our honeymoon ¨Luna de Miel¨. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	April 2009 K-1 Filers	Hello everyone, Interview-wise, Leidys and I are up next. In 48 hrs., I will be flying out of LAX into Bogotá where Leidys and I will meet up, and station ourselves 5 min. (walking distance) from the US Embassy. We have our $131 Visa fee paid, and while the US Dollar is literally plummeting on a daily basis, I hope to be in and out of Bogota before the US Dollar hits 1,500:$1. We have all of our forms ready, I just have to make copies of some Chats and process some photographs for the Embassy Interview. Leidys and I have an appointment on Oct. 7th in Bogotá. There are plenty of rented-out apartments there in town, but we scored a Master bedroom/apartment for $195/5 nights. I had to concentrate very hard, but after an hour could finally enjoy biking. I had so much fun. I'm now emailing her vaccine info, she's getting her Enterance/Exit certificate from the gov't, and I'm preparing my paperwork on my end. James James, I have never tried to get the embassy to email me anything, but the website explains that they do not due to so many people they have to deal with. You never know, and should give it a try. Leidys and I did receive our email notification that the DS-230 and DS-2100 was received. Joe Cannon also mentioned that it is one employee at the embassy that receives all of the emails, so you never know. Give it a try, amigo. The desert was feeling the effects of tropical storm Jimena yesterday. To brighten up Colombia Club, here are a couple of photos of my day with the Jeep club. This is me in front of my Jeep. I wore my Carnaval shirt because the guy on the shirt is ready to party!! Traversing Mud Hills during a desert shower can get...kinda dirty! I LOVE THIS STUFF!! Now, back to the thread... Angie Y Shane, They called you and scheduled an interview on the 8th? I guess the US Colombian embassy is having a shortfall on applicants and this is not their busy month . This can be a very good thing for everyone! Yupi yupi. Ken, thanks and Leidys was able to talk to Adriana on yahoo earlier today about the confusing DAS policy. My worry was not being able to having enough of the product to carry over for both the K3 and CR1 packages. Ill keep ya posted! james James -- Leidys has been educating herself like crazy lately. James (worried and impatient) James, Let your wife Adriana ask this when obtaining her DAS. Perhaps two DAS certificates are better than one? Just order two separate certificates and hold one for NVC? That would be my guess. Good luck on the tour, amigo. I'm hoping you can bring your wife with you.
