No she said that they gave her a blue piece of paper with instructions to e-mail embassy to get a follow-up interview to bring in proof that i filed an I-130. They told her that when that happens then they will issue her a visa. I don't understand

I got an answer...not the best
1st they told my wife that we did'nt have enough proof b/c of pictures but she persuaded them that it is a true marriage. Now our problem is that I did'nt send Marla a copy of the I-130 NOA1 (proof of that I filed I-130)

They told her to go online and schedule another appt. --- How soon do you think we could get another appt. scheduled?

3 Days to interviews for 3 of us ---- Please pray for all of us and pray that our spouses will not be nervous and do well at the interviews. I look forward to sharing the good news of an approval on Tues.

Also, when do they let you know the status of the medical results?

My wife will fly over on Delta out of Kingston. Tickets vary from $288 TO $326. That's one way to Atlanta.
Also, she got her medical appt. on Feb. 28, which is 11 days before her interview, should that be okay?

I know it does'nt matter but actually our interview is at 8am
Also, I am praying that somehow my wife will get her visa 2-3 days after her interview, b/c our 1yr anniv. is March 15th.

We got an Interview Date ------------------- March 11, 2008 @ 8:00am

I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

QUESTION CONCERNING INTERVIEW?????????????????

1. Does my SO's child have to go to the interview?

2. Does my SO's child have to get a medical as well?

We filed K-3 and her daughter is a K-4

Sorry 1 more question?????????

How many days past the interview should I plan on before she can come to America?

Need to buy plane tickets and I want to be safe.

J.,

1).We are taking my step-son to be with us.

2). We are making sure that we have my step-son-to-be's shot card and medical history with us.

3). From former Yardie filers I see an average of 7-10 business days til SO gets the actual visa in hand!

The medical question about child is a good one. I will call the 202 number I gave you and ask.

I filed a K1 & K2.

I CAN'T BELIEVE WE HAVE THE SAME DATE!!!!

That's awesome...GOOD LUCK J!!!! How did you find out?

Bless,
Gill

I called the 202# you gave me

Wanted to start a thread for Jamaica VJ'ers who are about to be scheduled an interview or who has been scheduled an interview in Jamaica.

My SO talked to the embassy on 1-21-08 and they told her that we would have an interview scheduled by late Feb. or early March. But still no word yet.

Has anyone been scheduled an interview yet for the months of Feb., March, or even April?

Sorry you have to go through this Clairern, but do know that God's timing is perfect, you may never know the reason but His timing is perfect. Me and Marla went through the same ordeal with backwards embassy and had to wait an additional 6 weeks but we got through it. I wish you the best and stay strong for one another.

Jason, Mike said the same thing to me today after I was so very distraught about the whole thing. He said God knows best and every dissapointment is for a good. I wish I had his inner calm and peace and his patience. He has been waiting 8 years to get to this point and I felt really bad that this had happened.

Unlike Marla's interview, he had a very nice CO who was very kind and even encouraged him to go ahead andfill out DS-230 for his daughter who he had following to join. She turns 21 in October and they encourage him and had him fill out the papers right then and there.

Thanks for the reassurance though. When is Marla coming? Has she even received the visa yet?

Hopefully she will be here Fri. night. I called the 202# today and they told me that the visa is approved and is waiting to get prinited. i hope she gets it tomorrow, we both want to be together by this weekend.

Hello Ladies,

I have'nt been on here in a few, but wanted to share what happened to us lastnight. Marla was cooking and turned the oven eye off but really she turned it on high. Next thing I knew my kithcen was on fire. Probbaly done about $3000 in damage and luckily ins. will cover it. Marla was very upset and more embarressed than anything. But after confirming to her that it happens to alot of people she was fine.

Engy, good luck ...you are in my prayers for a call back for an interview!

Irie, you must be so excited! When is Louis coming?

Shrewdie, I'm sorry Chica...hang in there...I just don't understand what is taking so darn long!

Kimmy, how yuh doing darling? Yuh still going to classes? How's likkle Mama Mora doing?

Tre & Wakey...onnuh ready...your big day is coming! You will both be fine!

Sus-ie...how was Yard?

To the rest of the Fam...much love always!

Bless-ed love always,

P.S.- I don't know if we touched on this yesterday...but Tuesday night I was even more proud to be an American!!! Wow, I honestly never thought I would live to see the day that a man of African descent would earn a nomination to be President of th U.S.A! Wow...that is definitely going to be a "Where were you when" moment for me! I'm not going to lie...I bawled like a baby...not for Obama...but because another opportunity just opened up for our sons to strive for!

OBAMA '08...I'm back on that grind!!! good.gif

Good Morning Gill! I can't wait to see wedding pics! I am glad to hear Mr likes NY... Louis will be here on the 14th and I am so excited. He is so calm and swears he will be fine. He has no problems leaving St Lucia and is so sure everything is going to be A-OK! I really hope he likes Maine - says he can't wait for our drives together (we always drove around St Lucia together)...

I was watching GMA this morning and Obama's family from Africa was on there and soooo happy for him. I was bawling myself, mind you I am always emotional, but amidst all the ####### going on in this world today this is so inspiring.
I have a lotus flower tattoed on my arm and the symbalism of it is very similar to how I feel about Obama becoming president....

A lotus flower grows in the dark mud of a pond and becomes a beautiful flower that cleans the water around it. I hope that Obama can clean all the "water around him" and become a great leader!

Goodevening Ladies,

My thoughts on Obama.

He may be the next President of the United States and he may not. I am undecided as to who I am going to vote for. I'm not saying anyone on here is voting for him because he is black, but I get that impression from alot of people and it could just be the media. But I hope our society looks past the color of skin and look at the person and their issues.

Me and Marla are doing great and they are having a great time. We have had some issues (small arguements) but we look back at them at day's end and laugh about it. Part of the adjusting period I guess.

I am going to apply for an EAD soon so she will able to work. Also, today Marla is looking for a hair dresser and I don't anything about it, so wish her luck. Saturday my brother is going to keep Amoy and we are going to have our 1st date in America. Don't know where were going yet but it is her birthday so I gotta take her somewhere nice. And we get the whole night to ourselves!

I need help on how to obtain a SS# for Marla and Amoy. I have info on applying for work permit and AOS but nothing on SS#.

Marla and Amoy are having a good time here with me. They met my family and at 1st marla was very nervous but everything went great. She was'nt so happy at church, I think b/c everyone was coming up to her and it was very overwhelming. But do pray for them, they are missing home some and I have to work 10hrs a day and they have to sit at home all day.

Has anyone heard from Jason? Did Marla make it to Atlanta ok last night?

Busy catching up I assume.. blush.gif blush.gif

Marla did make it to the airport ok, other than the flight being delayed by 2hrs. She said she had no problem with customs or immigration and made it through very easy. We made it home about 2:30am and we were very tired. My son (8yr) met her and Amoy (3yr old step-daughter) for the first time and he really liked them and they liked him.

Next morning I made her breakfast in bed, then we went shopping. Went to the Jamaica food store, then to Wal-Mart. Marla loved Wal-Mart, she said it was big and very good selection, I had to tell her we could'nt buy the whole store.

Everything is going great, Marla said she loves it here so far. But I can see there will be alot of adjusting to do. She is cold here (which it was only 68 here yesterday). Also, she says it is pretty here and very spacious, she could'nt believe all the roads we have and the traffic. Anyways, she met my 2 brothers yesterday and tonight we are going to my mom's house then to Red Lobster and tomorrow we are going to church.

We both are so so happy that this day has arrived and we feel like our lives are complete and we can go forward. I can truly say that we are in love!

Also, the best thing is we don't have to talk on the phone to each other.

Finally, Marla got her visa yesterday evening. Her flight leaves Jamaica today at 4:30 and arrives in Atlanta at 8:30 tonight. Please pray for safe travel.

I am so excited that this waiting is coming to an end. Praise the Lord!!!

The Embassy told us we would have our visa last friday, but guess what?....no visa and still today there is no visa. I talked to the lady at the Dept. of State yesterday and she assured me that the visas were printed last Thurs and she said the embassy in Kingston is very slow. I have tried to e-mail the embassy serveral times and no response from them. They hold people lives on hold like its no deal.

I married my wife 14 months ago and we did K-3 visa and she is still not here with me. I am so disgusted with the embassy that it just makes me sick. The Americans that work at that embassy, give America a bad name. They really need to fire everyone there and start over. I'm sorry, but I am so freaking mad right now that I can't see straight.

Thanks for letting vent.

That's good news Jason. When you e-mail the embassy with your question, did you put in the subject line 2nd Inquiry, 3rd Inquiry and so on? I know they're sick of me, but I don't care....that's what WE pay taxes for.

Yes each time I put in the # of inquiry in the subject line.

Hey Yardies waiting on airpak to deliver their visas. You can track your visa delivery at airpak.

Website is airpakexpress.com and click on visa tracking. It allows you to enter your ticket number first and lst name and visa type. If anyone uses it and is successful let us know

You can also email them at pickups@cwjamaica.com

Human resources/customet service tsmith@cwjamaica.com

Thanks for the link to the web site but the visa tracking link does not work. I did use the e-mail address, just have to see if they will respond. I e-mailed the embassy 3x yesterday and still no resonse. I cannot stand the people at the embassy.

Yesterday i also called the Dept. of State 2x. The 1st time they told me the visa is approved and waiting to be printed, I called later in the day and that woman told me its still in review. Do these people really know what they are doing. Most backwards people I have ever seen are the people that work for the gov't.

Are there any other American men that have married or going to marry a Jamaican? Or is everyone on here an American woman marrying a Jamaican man?

There were 3 that I remember...........Eric and for the life of me I can't remember the other 2 names right now.

My JA SIL married a guy from NY about 5 years ago.

There was one ...not too long ago ...from NY! What was his name again? I want to say she came up in August -September 2007

Gill

There was Eric Drewry - And Trinilad - There is an incredible love story here about an American man who married his JA love, they've been married for 19 years

http://www.negril.co...html?1209264286

That was a great story...I think it is so great how God brings us to the ones we love. I know it only had to be God who brought Marla into my life,

JASON! If I was near you I would give you a GREAT BIG HUG! You're wonderful MAN! I wish you all the best in life. I don't know you, but from the things you've typed I know you are.

Thank you for the kind words and i need a hug....tomorrow is my b-day and no Marla to be with me. But hopefully in 10 days she will be here.

And I owe the credit to Marla, she makes me a wonderful man. My life is so happy with her in it.

There was Eric Drewry - And Trinilad - There is an incredible love story here about an American man who married his JA love, they've been married for 19 years

That was a great story...I think it is so great how God brings us to the ones we love. I know it only had to be God who brought Marla into my life,

Does anyone know the email address for the Embassy in Kingston? I want to contact them to inquire if they are wheelchair accessible. I am planning ahead just in case my broken ankle is not totally healed by then.

Has anyone's SO doing the IR/CR process, ever attended the interview by themselves and has a good outcome? I want so much to be there and I am hoping and praying I can attend.

Thanks

My SO went to the interview by her self and they gave her a difficult time. Mainly because we did'nt have any pics and they gave her the blue sheet (means you have to come back for another interview) because she did'nt have a copy of the I-130 NOA1. But the second time she went back (without me again) they were very nice and she was approved without any problems. I think the embassy like when the American SO comes to the interview but they won't and can't deny you if you can't make it.

Anyone have any good ideas (even if small) as to what I can do to welcome Marla home? Me and my son (8yr old - whom she has never met) will be going to pick her up at the airport and then we are going to Red Lobster (she has always heard about it and wants to eat there - she loves shrimp) and then home. I planned on having some roses there for her. Any other great ideas?

Ah.....Red Lobster. Hubby loved it the first time we went. Hated it the second and now refuses to go anymore.

How about some pampering items? My husband had no opportunites to take a bath in JA. He loved his first bath with bubbles, a bath bomb, lotion, a glass of wine and some music in the bathroom. He still does this on a fairly regular basis.

We also took the long way home from the airport so he could get a short look at the city on the way home.

I'm glad you mentioned that....b/c I just bought a new house and it has this big garden tub w/ jacuzzi. I will some candles, music, bubbles, and flowers in there.
