K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March 2009 k-1 people	As JEDI's defined it--> TOUCH QUOTE Any time your application is handled by someone at a Service Centre, the barcode is scanned, which results in an update to the "last date" for your case on the USCIS website. When the date changes, this mean that someone has physically handled or "touched" your case. There are many reasons your application may be "touched" - from simply being moved from one desk to another, to RFE's, to being approved. There are 2 kinds of touches. There are the ones that show some kind of update, there are the ones that don't bring a new message. By logging into the account, take a look at the date that shows next to your case number. If it's changed, you've been touched. By clicking on the case number, you get to check whether it was an update touch or not. The ones that don't show updates are connected with some kind of work done with regard to your case - it merely shows that they've taken a look at it somehow. What? Case number? Account? Hang on, let me explain it. smile.gif How do I get to check it out? First thing is, get your receipt number (or case number). You can find it online on the back of the check you used to pay for the filing of the application when it's been cashed. If you can't do that, wait for the NOA1 in the mail. It'll be there. There are 3 ways to check for updates. 1. By searching online: https://egov.uscis.g.../jsps/index.jsp - you'll just need the receipt number. 2. By logging into your account. To register on the USCIS site: https://egov.uscis.g...ntextType=CU_EN 3. By e-mail (once you have registered and clicked on the "E-mail on" button. Options 1 and 3 are good if you only wish to check for status update. Option number 2 shows the mysterious touches (somebody worked on your case but we can't be sure what has been done). Option 2 in detail: Log into your account: https://egov.uscis.g.../jsps/login.jsp It'll show a table: Receipt Number | E-mail | Last Updated | (mm/dd/yyyy) | Form # |Form Title Take a look at the date in the "last updated" box. Then go to "Receipt Number" and check the message. Is it different from the last update you got? Yes: smile.gif Great! You got an update that changes the status of your case. No: sad.gif Aw. They have just worked on your case... Please note that the date on the update notices don't change. For example, if you got a message saying your petition was approved on JUNE 20, 2006, that date will never change. The ones that might change are the ones you get to see at the chart when you log into the account. Do I really need to check the mysterious touches? Not at all. Only obsessive people like me, for example, will do it. I find it comforting to know that someone's been working on my case smile.gif Also, you only get to check the status before your petition is fowarded to the NVC... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Can't get on the	I can log in to the USCIS website and i can easily check my case status no problem i was suprised i had a 2nd touch this early month too trying to help a fellow vj friend here on checking her case but she's having an error i wish i am physically there to help her. i'm not sure if there is a connection between having multiple account on that page i asked myself if there's a big difference between logging a customer or the representative? i'm using only 1 account and i click customer instead of representative. or is it the internet provider? hmm how about the location? if some cannot check their case online be positive.. a friend told me they got their paper approved without this online update. I hope this problem will have a solution very soon so we all can check our cases online if not then a surprise mail(good news) waiting for us tomorrow in our mailbox... We feel worried about not receiving our noa1 but we also think that they sent the mail at my my other address. my home address is in LA (nobody there) and work address here in TX. We are trying to give the USCIS time to send our letter..you know more patience and it's hard to do...it makes us feel worried.. i received a call this morning from my cousin. There is no minimum, but the more you can provide the less likely you are that you will receive an RFE. 1. Copies of all airline boarding passes, train passes, itineraries, hotel receipts, passport stamps (make sure you can read the dates on the stamps), and other documentary evidence that you have met within the last two years. You may want to highlight or place post-it notes indicating the dates and locations on the copies (to make the adjudication easier) for the person reviewing your file. 2. Color Photo's of you and your fiance(e) together. Make sure you write your names, date, and location on the back of every photo. Provide two to five photo's. If you only have a single copy of the photo, then make a color copy and send that. If it is a digital photo, have it printed at a company such as kodakgallery.com. You can also make duplicates of photo's at your local photo store (Walgreeens, CVS, etc). Place photo's in a plastic bag or photo sheet and label the sheet. Note that you may not receive originals of photo's back. 3. The following items will not typically show proof of having met in the last two years however will show proof of an ongoing relationship: Copies of phone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can edit personal info with a marker), letters (edit personal info also), stamps on the letters (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Philippines	Meeting my Fiance in another Country	Hi-   I was originally meeting my fiance in Cebu for a couple weeks, to meet her family and her in person.  However, she took a job in Macau to help pay for her siblings school, it pays about 4 times what she'd make in Cebu.  Her new job is great, but turns out they don't give much time off.    Does this complicate things if I meet her in person in Macau instead of Cebu?  From what friends told me, meeting family is important.    I just want to make sure after I come back, I'll have no problems with the k-1 visa.   -Thanks. We are on the process of gathering documents for our I-129F application. My Fiance will soon file his petition for me maybe mid of December and i decided to have my interview here in USEM HK.
