Philippines1st wedding anniv... forever ruined.. sad

sino ba mas importante? yung ibang tao or tayong nag decide na magsama come what may?
mahal natin ang isat- isa kaya nating i work out ito kahit mahirap, kahit maraming problema..
kaya natin.. basta support lang.. walang iwanan sa ere.

sis, i will keep you in my prayers.. ingatan mo lang sarili mo and the baby.. kahit ano pa
ikaw ang pinaka importante sa buhay ng asawa mo..relax..chill out and God bless!

sorry for the emotional outburst..

Don't worry you can always talk to us.

I think everyone gets ask that question, why go across the world to find someone when you can find then here. I am sure they have many different reasons. Mine is easy, I want a young hot sexy trophy wife rofl.gif Just kidding. after a fail marriage with one of the reason it fail was she was hiding the fact she was using birth control. I want a child. It kind hard to find someone my age around here that still want to have a child.

I feel family are not as close as they are in Asia. most people don't care what there family think and frankly you should not even worry about making her happy, Just your husband. As soon as she sees you make he little boy happy everything will be fine....

I can say my family loves my wife, they chat and exchange emails all the time. My mom talk more to Nan then she does me. Nan has to tell me what my mom is doing.

to all who replied..thank you so much!
i feel a little better now..i think this is just normal
to people who will get married soon... hehehe

I didn't read it as an outburst but I can see your concern.
There may be problems and maybe just a few initial bumps in the road.

Over 30 years ago I had a long term Japanese GF and my mom (who is 83 now)
got to expect Asian GFs early on so she welcomed them with open arms, treating
them ALL (including my Japanese Ex) like queens and me not as well.

I've never heard any objections from any of my other family members about me & Asians
but then again they don't give a wrat's a~~ about me either rofl.gif

You will find your own friends among his American friends and your Pinoy ones,
so remember that in the US the immediate family is everything and the extended
family is non-existant (with exceptions, primarily among Latin, African and Asian immigrants).

My long-term Japanese GF once invited my mom to have lunch at our apartment.
She was an incredible cook and spent hours to prepare a fantastic lunch.
My mom camed armed with a sandwich (I'll forgive her for that because her
taste in food is out to lunch and I've never liked her cooking my whole life)!

I could have died and gone to hell and felt I deserved it! mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

She still treated this GF better than she treated me, despite the sandwich. blush.gif blush.gif blush.gif

thank you for the reply
i hope his mom is as kind as your mom..
thinking about her wanting my fiance to find
a white gf made me feel sad really..
i hope things will be different when we meet each other in person.

I hope one that you meet her, she sees that you are the one for her son and wont care about what country you come from. It sounds like maybe its a geographical issue for his mom, not so much "find a white gf" but more like "find a CLOSER gf" Good Luck smile.gif

thank you for the reply sis!

i'm trying my best to think positive
and i will just think it that way..
like you've said maybe just a geographical issue..i understand parents..
i will try not to worry..

Just try to reassure her that there is nothing wrong with her skin color. Not matter what her color is, there will be someone who doesn't like it. And no matter what color she is she can't cover the fact that she not from America. She may face racism or xenophobia, but then again she may not. I would try to handle it organically. Don't ignore it, but talking about it too much may make her worry unnecessarily. Just address it as it comes up.

Racism was an issue for my hubby. There is discrimination in Ethiopia, but not typically based on your skin color. It was a difficult adjustment for him. I'm an African-American woman, but there are differences in the experiences of men and women in America. We just keep an open conversation about race in America. My hubby is a pretty positive guy and likes people, he's made friends with a lot of different people and he's experienced a few racists incidents. They are hurtful, but we do our best to move past them.

i guess my problem is related..

i was so excited to tell my fiance that i will give his mom
bags and some stuff from my native country
a good present to his relatives when i get to the US.. but he told me
not to waste time on such things coz
we will just buy her mom things when i get to the US
after meeting them..
He told me he doesn't want
his mother to get shock if she will learn that
we will get married..he doesn't want to surprise her,
i am the first asian or not an american
to join their family.. his mother knows we are gf/bf
but still told him why not find a girl from their place instead.
my fiance told me his mom cannot understand why
he needs to find a gf from asia when there are
lots of white girls in their area.
but the good thing is my fiance reassured me
he loves me and he don't care if they will not like me
he said the important thing is we will build our own family
and he will depend me..but i'm still worried.
i'm thinking how will he tell them that we will get married?
this made me feel sad...and now i don't know how will i react
when i see them in person..

to vj friends thepizzadude and Haole who answered our question
i thank you both so very much! kicking.gif

i always assist my fiance in preparing documents because
when it comes to paper works he doesn't have long patience.

i will forward your messages and suggestions to him about that tax..

so, we will write his new company name and address to the I-134 and will attach
his employment certificate..together with the paystubs and others...

He said if we will attach documents to our I-134 we dont need to write his annual income (the figure)
at the provided blank there.. is that right?

gosh! i'm worried!! headbonk.gif .. we dont want to commit errors here..

oh, by the way.. i would like to share the good news today..
My dad is working as a chef in a reefer ship and when jamie my fiance
visited me last year in manila he never met him because my dad is still at work that time.
My father is enjoying his vacation now but he will leave the country again on Aug 29.
Jamie decided to talk to my dad online using the mic and
with the speaker on.. he will ask my hand for marriage... gosh!

imagine.. i woke up very early so i could catch up for his time in texas before he sleeps, to finish arranging
documents that he will send me including researching about I-134..and i'm checking VJ from time
to time if there is anybody who replied to our question..then waited for my dad to wake up to tell him
jamie wants to talk to him..
to make my noble short..sorry..long explanation headbonk.gif
they had a good conversation and i know both of them are really nervous..
my mom just smiled very noisy here earlier ...funny(both jamie and dad lost their tongue hehehe. lolz!)
my father gave us his blessings cool! kicking.gif and told jamie to take care and love me.

im so happy!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

we sent our I-129F package first week of March this year
and after two weeks
my fiance resigned from his job.
he spent 3 years working at that company
and then accepted a new job..

is it ok if we put his new company name and address at the I-134?
or the old one?
because we filled our K-1 during the time that he is still working at his old job.
and at the G-325A form that we sent his old company name and address is written.
we are confused on what company and address to write at our I-134.

anybody can enlighten us? we will highly appreciate if you could help us!

thank you and God bless to all!

USCIS knows people have lives and sometimes things change during this process.
That said use the new job and send the taxes, w-2's from last year. Also, make sure to take a few months worth of paystubs so they can see what type of income he now has. It would be well if you could also get a letter from the new employer.

Good Luck

Thank you for your reply good.gif

we have his employment certificate from his new job
stating the date when he started, his performance and at the same time
how much they pay him per hour..i will ask him about his paystubs.
also we have his w-2's since 2006 up to 2008 ready..
he is worried about sending the original copy of w-2
is it ok if he will just send me the photocopy of his w-2?

thank you so much for taking time to answer my query

God bless!

I have problems to answer the following questions on the DS 156 document. Maybe someone can help me.

Question 14:
what is the National Identification number? Where can I find it?
we did not put any..or try none or N/A

Question 22:
When do You Intend to Arrive in the U.S.?
- I don’t know a specific date now. I just now it will be in March or April 2010. What should I write?
Me and my fiance agreed to put a date like oct.31 but he wants me to fly earlier than that..

About Question 26, 27, 28 and 32 I am really confused. Are these questions even important for K1 applications?

Question 26:
How long do you intend to stay in the U.S.?
- I mean I want to get married and live there. What should I write?

as a K1 we put there ..K1 visa process for permanent residence.
Question 27:
What is the purpose of your trip?
- ???
to marry my fiance/ to get married

Question 28:
Who will pay for your trip?
- I will pay for it. Do I have to provide any evidence for it?
my fiance told me to put his name on it.

Question 32:
Do you intend to work in the U.S.? (If yes, give the name and complete addresses of U.S. employers)
- of course I want to work in the U.S., but I want to start searching for a job once I will be there, so of course I don’t know where I will work yet. What should I write?

the purpose of the visa is to marry your fiance when u get there when ur applying for K1
so better to be safe than sorry.. u can plan on working or studying after you marry

Hi guys!
I have problems to answer the following questions on the DS 156 document. Maybe someone can help me.

Question 14:
what is the National Identification number? Where can I find it?

i leave it blank or put N/A coz i dont have it
Question 22:
When do You Intend to Arrive in the U.S.?
- I don’t know a specific date now. I just now it will be in March or April 2010. What should I write?

well, me and my fiance agreed to put end of october date there.. but we really not sure about that date.
because we might buy ticket early

About Question 26, 27, 28 and 32 I am really confused. Are these questions even important for K1 applications?

Question 26:
How long do you intend to stay in the U.S.?
- I mean I want to get married and live there. What should I write? we put here K1 visa process

we just put no.. because first the purpose of the K1 visa is to marry your fiance
we don't want to commit any trouble answering our papers..so better to be safe than sorry.
after we get married we can talk about working or studying anyway..and we both agreed on this.

Thanks for your help.

US Citizenship General DiscussionUSC Spouse presence at the interview
i think it will help your wife if you will attend
she will feel more at ease compared to going
in an interview alone.

but for me.. i think what matters most is how
you answered the question clearly and correctly and how you prepared the
necessary documents that they asked you.

i wish you and your wife all the best! God will bless you
the approval for sure!

US Citizenship General DiscussionVacation from my country for 3 weeks, will this change the date of filling the N-400??

You don't have to apply the N400 within 90 days as you have a 10 years green card. You become eligible in the 90 days which in your case that means 4/28/2013. You have 10 years now, whenever you want to apply you can. Good luck.

wow! that is a very good news! money is always tight and one way to come up with the right amount of

fee for this N-400 is to save. that is what i am doing right now. so i will probably stick to my plan to apply

in August or September to be more prepared.

Thank you so much for the big help! God bless you!

US Citizenship General DiscussionVacation from my country for 3 weeks, will this change the date of filling the N-400??

SO this means that i can apply N-400 anytime now?  within 90 days? April,May and June??

we are still saving money for the fee because i thought it will still be in August before i can apply.

Hmmm..or i can wait to apply anytime this year??? if i can file early as this i will find the way to come up

for the fee.

Thank you guys for the information! I highly appreciate it.

US Citizenship General DiscussionVacation from my country for 3 weeks, will this change the date of filling the N-400??

Got my 10 year greencard last April. I was wondering if I am correct in my calculation on filling for the N-400 this coming August.

I am a little confused since I had traveled back to the Philippines last year for just 3 weeks vacation.

My question is, will this affect my filling date? Somebody said that i just need to deduct the 20 days or 21 days of not being physically

present here in the US. Is this true? like for example my residence started 07/27/2010 in my greencard.

I hope somebody will correct my calculation if I am wrong.

So this coming July 27,2013 it will be my 3rd year permanent resident anniversary.

So the earlist filling of N-400 will be July 28,2013.. and since somebody said that i left the US for 3 weeks vacation,

that i need to deduct the date i spent outside the US..  for example : instead of July 28..

i need to file the N-400 in August( like Aug. 19,2013 will be a safe day since that day is Monday). Is this correct?

I am starting to worry. I sent my packet on March 6 and the check was cashed on Mar. 10, until now, no NOA1 nor biometric appointment letter. How long does it usually takes to get it? I know the site says an average of 7 days and I have been reading some of the posts here. I need an advice. Thanks to those who will respond.
