K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance's end of the K-1 Fiance Visa

Hello there. I am also a DH here in HK from Philippines. We are on the process of gathering documents for our I-129F application. My Fiance will soon file his petition for me maybe mid of December and i decided to have my interview here in USEM HK.

Good Luck!

Thanks that sounds good!  I'll have to look, to see if the mailing address is the same as the resident address has to be the same.  Her employers can get to her mail (don't understand why or how), and they like to snoop around.

To everyone:

Thanks.  She's a legal DH in HK that started a new 2 year term contract.  The reason, wanted specific information about this subject, is because it's dealing with a bureaucracy.  I'd like things to go as smoothly as possible.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance's end of the K-1 Fiance Visa

When filing the I-129F petition, you do MOST of the paperwork, you fiancee will need to complete the G-325A, a letter of intent to marry, and provide a 2X2 passport photo (white background)   See the GUIDES for the K-1 process.

Now for a question.  Does your fiancee plan to complete the actual visa application in Hong Kong or will she be flying back to the Philippines once the petition is approved?  I ask because if she is planning to stay in Hong Kong, list that address, if she plans to fly back to the Philippines list her address in the Philippines -   NVC will send the file to the embassy in whichever country you list for her address.

Well that's what I'm trying to figure out, if she needs to go back to the Philipines or not.  I'm still confused on the answers people are giving.

Here is the guide for new starter.

Good luck.

Anyone can post a link, you wanna make some comments on where I should read that address my specific questions?  I also didn't see anything relating to what I asked in the guide.

Thanks.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance's end of the K-1 Fiance Visa

Hello Again,

When I start to file for the K-1 Visa, what does my Fiance have to do?  I don't quite understand what she needs to do.  She's from the Philippines, but she works at as a domestic helper in Hong Kong.  Does she need to go back to the Philippines once I start the Visa?  Or is all the work done on my end?

-Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNo Passport Stamps

So what I have read, I need to submit copies of my passport and my stamps.  They did not stamp my passport, they gave me small slips of paper.  Will submitting copies of those cause problems?  I only ask because it seem new/different, and when that happens someone is always confused.

-Jason

PhilippinesManny Pacquiao: 30 things you didn’t know about him
By Gareth A Davies, Boxing Correspondent
Last Updated: 4:53PM BST 01 May 2009

His name is Emmanuel 'Manny' Dapidran Pacquiao.

Pacquiao owns fighting cocks

Sylvester Stallone wants to act alongside him in a movie

His fourth child – a daughter named Queen Elizabeth (or 'Queenie') – has dual nationality as she was born in the US. The infant also has 48 godparents

He plays ‘Manny Pacquiao’ in a soap opera in The Philippines

A close friend says “He’s a terrible actor”.

He is the only Filipino boxer to appear on a postage stamp

He carried the flag for The Philippines at the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games

He has had three hit ‘singles’ in The Philippines

He gives education scholarships for 250 children through his foundation

He has had the titles ‘National Fist’ and ‘National Treasure’ bestowed upon him by the Philippines government

There have been kidnap threats on his children

It is written into Philippine law that the army will go to Pacquiao's aid if his family is in danger.

He is a close friend of President Gloria Arroyo, and was visited by Bill Clinton this week

He trains for his fights up until one day before he goes into the ring

In 14 years as a professional, Pacquiao has won world titles in four weight divisions – from 7st 8lb to 9st 9lb, at flyweight, super bantamweight, super featherweight and lightweight. He has also fought at the 10st 7lb limit.

In a Time magazine online poll to find the 100 most influential people of 2009, Pacquiao has so far garnered more than 20 million votes.

His early life was spent living in a shanty town, sleeping on cardboard boxes.

In 1990, he witnessed James 'Buster' Douglas defeat the seemingly invincible Mike Tyson in Tokyo – Pacquiao's first encounter with boxing, which led him to dream of a career in the ring.

He made his first punchbag out of a cardboard box stuffed with clothes

He has worked as a gardener and construction worker, and sold donuts and iced water on the streets.

He turned professional at 17, and became a rising star on a televised weekly boxing show in the Philippines called Blow by Blow.

He won the World Boxing Council flyweight belt in Thailand, against Chatchai Sasakul, in December 1998, at the age of 19.

He first fought at the MGM Grand in 2001 a late replacement against the International Boxing Federation super bantamweight champion Lehlohonolo 'Hands of Stone' Ledwaba. Pacquiao stopped the South African Ledwaba in the sixth round.

Since 2001 only four of Pacquiao's 18 fights have taken place in his native country, with half of them in Vegas, the world's fight capital.

He has a Jack Russell terrier - with whom he shares the nickname 'Pacman'. The dog comes with him on training runs. When he was younger, his pet dog was cooked and eaten by a friend of his father’s.

Pacquiao lives in a presidential-style mansion in General Santos City, Mindanao, with his wife, Jinkee, and their four children. The compound is manned 24/7 by armed security guards.

Last September he was sworn in as a member of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's Free Filipino party.

On May 17 2007 Pacquiao was defeated in the congressional elections by Darlene Antonino-Custodio, running for the Nationalist People's Coalition, who received 139,061 votes to Pacquiao's 75,908.

He intends to run for congress in The Philippines in 2010.

PhilippinesCultural Differences? Or, are we really that different?
Differences between people within any given nation or culture are much greater than differences between groups. Education, social standing, religion, personality, belief structure, past experience, affection shown in the home, and a myriad of other factors will affect human behavior and culture.

As we interact with others of different cultures, there is no good substitute for receptiveness to interpersonal feedback, good observation skills, effective questions, and some horse sense. There is much to be gained by observing how people of the same culture interact with each other. Don't be afraid to ask questions as most people respond very positively to inquiries about their culture. Ask a variety of people so you can get a balanced view.

Making a genuine effort to find the positive historical, literary, and cultural contributions of a society; learning a few polite expressions in another person's language; and showing appreciation for the food and music of another culture can have especially positive effects.

My contention, then, is not that there are no cultural differences. These differences between cultures and peoples are real and can add richness (and humor) to the fabric of life. My assertion is that people everywhere have much in common, such as a need for affiliation and love, participation, and contribution. When the exterior is peeled off, there are not so many differences after all.

PhilippinesPhilippine senator angered by Alec Baldwin's joke
May 18, 2009 --- 1 hr 31 mins ago

MANILA, Philippines – Alec Baldwin's joke about getting a Filipino mail-order bride provoked a sharp response in the Philippines, with one senator saying Monday that the "30 Rock" star faces violence if he ever visits.

Baldwin, 51, who is divorced with a teenage daughter, said in a May 12 interview on "The Late Show" with David Letterman that he would love to have more children.

The Emmy-winning actor quipped that he was "thinking about getting a Filipino mail-order bride at this point ... or a Russian one."

Baldwin has been involved in a bitter dispute with his ex-wife, Oscar-winning actress Kim Basinger, over custody of their 13-year-old daughter, Ireland.

Philippine Sen. Ramon Revilla said Monday that Baldwin's comment was "insensitive and uncalled for" and an insult to millions of Filipinos.

He called the actor "arrogant" and said he is apparently unaware that the Philippines has a law against mail-order brides.

"Let him try to come here in the Philippines and he'll see mayhem," Revilla said, using a local idiom that implies the speaker will personally administer a beating.

The senator is a former action-movie star who occasionally still appears on Philippine TV.

My Filipina rocks! Here's an example; I let her hear and read the lyrics to that old song, "My Filipino Baby". Afterwards i started referring to her as "my treasure and my pet". She just giggles and tells me that she IS my pet, but that i am her treasure!
If i tried calling a western girl my pet, her attitude would suffocate me!
My girl puts me ahead of herself, and in doing so i put her ahead of me....she's my queen, i'm her king. She knows this and glories in it. From what i've experienced, Filipinas indeed make the best wives in the world!

I heart.gif U SWEETY!!!

welcome to the philippine forum, please do stop by more often, we have some interesting people and issues here whistling.gif

I do stop by on occasion, but I find that many threads are in Tagalog (I presume). That makes it tough to follow the conversation.

And what is a Warai?

hello Brad and Vika! so nice to see you here. Waray is a language spoken in some provinces of the phils : http://en.wikipedia....-Waray_language

What does that have to do with swearing and hitting? Are Waray people bad-tempered. No disrespect intended, but the earlier poster seemed to think that bad temper was common for Waray/Warai.

LOL i am not familiar with the waray people but all i know is that all over the world, there are bad tempered people and cool headed people so we really cannot generalize based on a province, city or country.

my mother is from leyte she's a waray who some refers them as bad tempered people while my dad is from
iloilo province where some says that people there are sweet and soft spoken..
my mother is the best mother in the world with good morals she's very caring and loving same as my dad and been married for 32 years..and they are still sweet with each other and i admire them.
in my opinion wherever you're from, there are bad tempered people..
I agree.. we cannot generalize people based on where they from..
even if you live in a castle if one have a bad attitude nobody can change that..

PHILIPPINES

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is located about 50 km north of the city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines. It features a limestone karst mountain landscape with an 8.2 km. navigable underground river. A distinguishing feature of the river is that it winds through a cave before flowing directly into the South China Sea. It includes major formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and several large chambers. The lower portion of the river is subject to tidal influences. The underground river is reputed to be the world's longest. At the mouth of the cave, a clear lagoon is framed by ancient trees growing right to the water's edge. Monkeys, large monitor lizards, and squirrels find their niche on the beach near the cave.

"Baby, what's wrong? You okay?"

"Look!"

"What?"

"My skin!"

"What's wrong?"

"It got darker! I hate it!" showing a slight tanline one her arms.

"Maybe it will come off in the shower. Maybe it's just dirt."
