K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsInfo Taken From USCIS Vermont Stats

Because I have many months to go before my approval goes through and I'm just a little tired of all the whining on here about the service centers (I've been one of them too lol).  I found this graph on the uscis.gov website and I thought I'd share in case you haven't come across it.  This site (visa journey) only represents a fraction of applications being processed so when we see only approximately 3-5/day approvals out of Vermont, don't get discouraged. I added up all of their numbers for the  I-129F from March 2012 to February 2013 (March and April aren't posted yet).  Here's what I totaled:

Completed Applications on Average per Month:  2049

RFE's (or Awaiting Customer Action) on Average per Month:  1335

New Applications on Average per Month:  1906

It looks to me they are going through 3241 files a month and able to approve 2049.

If we take 3241 / 30 (days a month), they are on average doing 108 files a day.  (We rarely see more than 5 approvals a day on here with the RFE's)

Another thing is the completion rate vs new applications is interesting.  If there weren't so many RFE's, people would be with their fiance much sooner.  In fact, VSC would be caught up and there wouldn't be a back log.  I think they will reach their 5 month goal (at least I dream about it every day) and if you look at the next few months of applications they have to get through, it's not as many as the previous months.  January alone they completed over 5000 cases! Things are looking up!

Hope you all liked these stats.  Here's the link and you can see the numbers for yourself:  http://dashboard.usc...e=6&charttype=1

Oh, and also - YES, ROM form needs to be notarized before sending in. Our notary just signed and stamped at the bottom of the form - there's a blank space at the bottom of the page. Good Luck!!!

Hi Mike&Gina thank u so much...helps me a lot  :joy:

They changed the form since we did ROM, on the old forms they specified the wife's maiden name, with this new form it doesn't say and I didn't see any instructions.  I would lean towards using the wife's maiden name.

Yes I agree...by the way, is the ROM form really need to be notarized if submitted by mail, as stated in the requirements? But I didn't see any space for notary in the form.

Hi guys I have a question about filling up the ROM form. What do I write in wife's residence? My residence here now in the US or my residence back there in the Phil?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDo I dare say this - "But I am GLAD for the long application wait".

Either you call it rationalizations or looking on the bright side, it's a matter of semantics. And btw, there is nothing wrong with rationalizations when confronted with a hopeless situation (hopeless as in you can't speed it up).

It's certainly a complicated process to move such a distance, and there a lot of things to prepare and consider. But I would rather the timeline be determined by my fiance and me figuring out, together, what needs to be done and in what order, rather than just waiting. From timelines, it seems that things move relatively quickly after NOA2, but until then, the amount of preparation I've needed has long since gone by. :(

It would be easier if we could determine the timeline for ourselves. Unfortunately, we all fell in love with people from other countries. But, fortunately, we fell in love. I suppose talk to me when I am in your position, 4 months later, and see if I am still so accepting of the process.

Fingers crossed your NOA2 comes soon!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDo I dare say this - "But I am GLAD for the long application wait".

Rubbish. I'm fine with whatever rationalizations any of you want to employ to make the time go by better or to make it seem like a blessing in disguise, but it's BS. This wait is just the miserable byproduct of an inefficient, lazy bureaucracy that doesn't give a ####### about the people who pay for it.

None of the problems any of you have listed couldn't also be solved together, rather than on your own.

Alas, it will one day be over. But let it serve as a reminder for anybody who wants more government involvement in anything, especially health care.

It is not employing rationalizations to cope.. it is accepting the reality as it is. As it is, perhaps because of bureaucracy on all levels, things take time. All things. Ensuring that each person wishing to come here is not a threat takes time. Saying goodbye to other loved ones and securing the transfer of funds and assets to another country takes time. Making sure that my private health care that I pay way too much for, considering I have never been seriously ill in my lifetime, will cover my type 1 diabetic fiance, who up until this point has had excellent care because he comes from a country that recognizes it's citizens are worthless if they are not healthy, takes time; also, preparing for the cost increase of that takes time. If everything was rushed, and anyone could just come through, then it wouldn't be a country anyone would be proud to call home.

While I know this process takes longer than we wish and it is naturally harder for some than it is for others, just because of the distance and circumstances involved, please don't assume that those of us who are OK with waiting are desperately employing rationalizations to cope. I accept that it is harder for you and wish you the best. I see you filed in June.. hopefully your NOA2 will be coming any day now Posted Image

yeah its pretty hard being apart for this long but i hope to hear something very soon from USCIS. i am the beneficiary and i do have a tourist visa that i can use to go visit but its cost lots of money. and we all know money its hard to come by these days. ha

That it is! When was the last time you were able to see her, if you don't mind me asking?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDo I dare say this - "But I am GLAD for the long application wait".

i understand the long wait might be a blessing for some of us here, but for me and my fiancee it isn't a blessing to us. we don't have anything to take care of before we get to be together for good. the wait is actually making it difficult for us to make some life long final decisions in our lives. all we want is just to be together NOW. this wait is awful. but well...it is what it is and we are still waiting.

I think it is made easier for me personally because my loved one is right across the border in Canada. Anytime we are too lonely he hops a train (plane tickets over time add up) and comes down here. I can not begin to imagine how hard it must be when your love is so so far away. But I saw your timeline and your NOA2 should (hopefully) be coming soon Posted Image. That's awesome!

Indeed it is a test. When we get whiny about it we remind ourselves how this is the hard part. We get through this part, and everything else will seem so much easier once we can tackle it together hand in hand; and also, we will appreciate just being able to hug each other everyday. It is those little things that other couples may take for granted that I do not think (or at least hope) we ever will.

Mmm, definitely agree. It is also a good, real test of the strength of your relationship. The wait is worth it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsDo I dare say this - "But I am GLAD for the long application wait".
I completely agree. Yes, we too are madly in love and hate the time away from each other and are very very eager to begin our everyday lives together. But, there is so much to take care of, on both sides. If it were just a thing of applying for the visa then a month later you get it and have 90 days to get married, no way would we be able to make all the arrangements involved in completely relocating a person from one country to another. I hate waiting but at the same time I am grateful for the time so that we can do our best to prepare and make the transition easier.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVermont Service Center USCIS Website Updates

Does the USCIS Website work for anyone who is going through the Vermont Service Center?

Please only post if your visa if being processed by the Vermont Service Center.

If you are going through the Vermont Service Center. How long did it take for your case to show on the website? It has been over 2 months since my NOA 1 and still says case number is not in the system.

Just like to know if it works for anyone else who is being processed by the Vermont Service Center.

We are about 2 months in as well. A few weeks ago I called USCIS just to double check because ours wasn't showing up either. She looked up our case and reassured me everything was fine and that it is sort of hit and miss when it comes to cases showing up online.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMost recent NVC case numbers.......timeline?

Got our NOA2 approval Jan 13. Yesterday I called the NVC and was told they don't have us in the system yet, call back later. The woman I spoke to made it sound like it would be a 1-2 month wait (which didn't seem right). If you recently found out your case number from the NVC what was your NOA2 date? Wondering how long this stage will take and trying to send package 3 soon!

I just got off the phone. My petition was approved January 6. They received it yesterday and have assigned a case number and the gentleman told me it usually take 2-4 weeks to leave for the consulate, though sometimes it is sooner than that.

But why is CSC so slow? there has to be a reason. Vermont is approving all the time...hmm weird

Well, what it has seemed like to me after the months of looking at Igor's list nearly everyday is that while Vermont starts processing the next month's applications once it is around 50% though one month's applications, California seems to try and complete one full month before moving on to the next months. So not necessarily that they are slower, just perhaps more organized or something of the sort?

Holy #######! I was reading a post about someone not being able to check their case status online and I was like, guess i'll check mine even though I know its pointless because it hasn't shown up at all and probably won't until I am approved.. and I go look and On January 6, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! And it couldn't have come at a better time because I am taking Jordan to the airport to fly back home to Canada tonight and we were so bummed but now there are literally happy dances going on. Yay! Hoping that all the other September filers here something soon as well!

So many Aug filers for VSC. Everyone approved on Igor's list brings Sept filers closer. I think as we see Aug approvals inch closer to 50% Sept filers will begin to appear!

Yep, that's what I have noticed over the past few months. Just waiting for that 50% mark :)

Anyone else meeting up over the Christmas holidays? She'll be traveling to the US for Christmas!

Yep! He got here a week ago and is staying for the entire holiday season.. leaving a week after the New Year. I was worried that they would give him him some trouble at the border, but nope. He had all of his necessary information to prove ties to Canada, including his return ticket which showed he intended to be here for 2 months and they had no issue. Posted Image

:) September filer here. Hope everything goes smoothly for everyone.

Feel like I might get a RFE after re-scrutinizing everything.. Only thing I put in for evidence was the usual letter of intent, 5-6 photos of us and boarding passes. Kept it short and sweet for that question 18 just entailing when and where we traveled back and forth.. What do you guys think?

I had the same feeling for the first few days after I sent mine in and was worrying myself to death, even though I was so meticulous with everything and know that everything was done correctly. Reading around on VisaJourney and seeing problems that others had certainly didn't help any. But, I finally realized there isn't anything I can do about it now but just relax and wait and deal with it if it happens. Fingers crossed that neither of us have issues. Posted Image

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA2 Approved!!
Holy cow, it can't be so......I saw that my NOA2 was sent today with the word typed as "Approved". :D

What should I expect next? I haven't received the instructions yet, but do I start gathering the documents for the I-134 form and then send it to my fiance in Taiwan with more photos, a letter of intent to marry, a copy of the 129F package, and a copy of the NOA1 and the NOA2? Do I have to do anything else?

Will the US Consulate in Taiwan contact my fiance once they receive the package and then schedule an interview and a medical with her?

Also, my fiance is going to China from mid March to mid April for a business trip. Do some countries have a timeframe of when a medical or interview has to be scheduled by? Should this be a problem?

Thanks for any help!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsis California Service Center moving faster than the other centers?
I thought that living in Rhode Island, that my I-130 petition would be sent to Vermont, being the closer state to where I live but I was THANKING GOD when I found out that it was being processed by Cali. I've got serious circumstances where I NEED my husband here ASAP. Bun in the oven. :-) And he's about to be done baking in about 1 month. Really hope they approve the expedite based on financial hardship. God knows I ain't got a dime to my name and hubby can't help me with a 6x currency exchange difference. If he sent me half his salary for a month it would only equal $150. But when he gets here, he can improve his salary as a Mechanical Engineer by probably 30 times more. lol And that means we pay lots o taxes which the US will be happy to take. :-p

Philippines221g "Wait until you will hear from us"
Embassy saw something that needs additional review with your documents, I was put on AP before but only for 1 day and changed to Issued the next day, just my son's late medical submission from st. Luke's. But anyway no paper was handed to me. Now, you can call the embassy at around 3pm...i did that before, search for the direct number, i did that before cause I am impatient at times. This is better than sitting there with a big question mark on your head, when you inquire your case status, they ask for your case number and actually on ceac the date updates, means somebody check it for you, who knows they will do something about it soon, sometimes it sits for a while. It's been over a month now, you will get it soon I hope. Good thing, they keep your passport. Good luck..

PhilippinesI need some comments...
Oh understandable, having previous denial sometimes the nervousness is overwhelming. Of course the approval depends on how visa is eligible , if everything is good, well paperworks sent passed and you're qualified, now the last is just kind of formality the interview, they wanna confirm everything is true and your intention with your application , of course the best way is done personally, and while everyone got through with it with flying colors , yes you can do it too,.. a big yes. And being with fiancée boast your confidence and your mood is great having him around so you will be perfectly fine. Good luck !!
reginaglennFemalePhilippines2013-12-04 12:41:00
PhilippinesChild passport
I was not required to show the passport during visa payment at the bank.. Nothing , just a form you need to print online , a copy for the bank and your personal copy ,just one page. This is the only one they need. Yes, you will need the passport when you get your MNL this us when you can start to register at st Luke's online and then scheduling interview at USEM.

Oh ,I'm just wondering what is written in your Cemar .. Because the two names the bride's and the groom's should appear. How could NSO office issued a Cemar when there's no husband's name on file?
