US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionK1 visa interview they requested more info have u had this issue?
Not really! It doesnt really depend on the interviewer but rather the case. If u met online then u should be prepared to provide a bunch of chat records to prove how u met and got involved but if u met in person then its likely they would only want to see more pictures less chat logs

I think it depends on the interviewer (CO). I My interview was less than 5 minutes and he never asked for any chat record at all. Make sure to print whatever they want and bring them with you to the interview. If they need 2011-2012 chat record, give them all of it.

Just print the whole chat that they requested. I went through the same situation earlier in January after they requested our chat from 2011 to date so we provided it and then got approved afterwards. My fiancé now my wife didn't even have to show up. U can show up and still get denied if u don't have what they want so I would advice u just get ur chats together and u will be fine. Just make sure they are up to date, its important! Gud luck!

Congrats mimigrant! Really happy to see most of us december folks completing the process. Hopefully I will get there sooner than later myself :)

PASSED the Naturalization interview :)

Hey everyone - I'm happy to report that I had my interview today at Federal Plaza in Manhattan and answered all the first 6 questions correctly! I was honestly surprised as I just studied in the past few days and kept forgetting a few tricky answers. Phew, really relieved.

The interview: it took around 40 minutes in and out. They called me in 10 minutes for bio and pictures, and the super nice officer came get me to his office a few minutes later. I was his last case for the day and he told me this was not a busy day there.

He got to the questions quickly to get it out of the way, I got them all right, and then he did get specific on additional trip dates since I applied in December (I had 4 trips, in total almost a month and he made sure I didn't stay abroad longer than I should). He also wrote down my new employment place which I joined after application was sent. It seems they need to put all current information in the system. He seemed to be able to access my travel history in his computer, which was interesting.

It went really smoothly but they did not have an oath going on today, he said I will receive an oath date maximum 30 days from today. All is good. I feel my long trip is over and it's a big relief. Now, on to oath and then paying taxes forever :)

I told officer they should change this long process as they are losing all the good people to Canada where they make it easy to immigrate for qualified professionals... Seriously, they should make this process a little easier! Good luck to all and I'll keep you posted on my oath date :D

Raza123 u will be fine.there is what I can tell you go get you a certified copy of your a police report and go to see your general attorney of your county talk to him and explain him the situation cause u have to speed up the process of your case..thats what I did when I had mine and I had some reasons why so it may work for you too..and u will fine just like me.dony worry.

Thanks Kool. I plan on consulting an immigration attorney in coming week to assess what could be the best possible court decision apart from dismissal to not affect the naturalization process. And then talk to my other attorney and ask him to seek the most favorable and shortest possible conclusion to the case. Will keep the forum updated as something new happens. Once again congratulations :)

Fantastic! Glad to hear it!

I had my interview today. It lasted about 45 minutes. Officer was super nice. But Im in the same boat as you were, since I was charged with a DWI back on 12/07/13 and my case is pending till May 1st. I was hoping that it won't come up during the interview since there is no final court disposition yet, hence not part of my record. However to my dismay officer did ask about the charge and I told him that its a pending case and my court hearing is scheduled on May 1st. After that as expected he told me that decision cannot be made yet..I breezed through the civics 6 test questions and reading/writing one sentence which was "California has the most people" ... After which he printed out a paper which said that I will need to mail in the final court order before May 17th. It will be reviewed and the decision on the application will be made. If I fail to send in the court order by May 17th then the file will be closed.

Towards the end of the day I received a text and an email informing that my case status has been changed to 'evidence requested' . I asked the officer if this is considered a 'crime of moral turpitude' ? His response " This is not considered the crime of moral turpitude, unless you have endangered a child or killed somebody" . Which thankfully is not the case...So not sure at this point what to expect now....

Hang in there Kool. Hopefully you will hear back sooner than later. Might not be a bad idea to consult an immigration lawyer who deals with clients having misdeamenour on record at this moment to chalk out strategy. Please keep us posted with progress...Best wishes

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFiling I-129f with a pending I-130

Thanks Kelly!

May I ask how it is more expensive? Since we have a pending I-130 we do not need to pay the filing fee apparently.

All this stuff makes my brain swim :(

Hi there,

So our I-130 is processing and we are filing an I-129f, and I have read that we need to submit everything that we submitted with our I-130 but when looking at the form on USCIS I am not seeing that we need to include any of that.

Am I missing something?

Thanks so much for your help!

We won't know for sure how they understood the situation, but there was no deceit on our end. We knew our I-130 was accepted and waiting on its completion. We would not have done anything to affect that.

My mother was determined to be permanently inadmissible to the US due to misrepresentation. After doing some research, and discussing the issue with some vj members, I would like to pursue ways of appealing this decision. Can anyone tell me about this? What are my options, what should I be looking for in a lawyer, etc?

Hey Too Long,

Congratulations !!!! Would you mind sharing your interview experience with us please?

Happy Holidays

Interview was in the same facility I went to for my biometrics.

Once my name was called (15 minutes after appointment time but no complaints) I went into the interviewer's office and took an oath before sitting down.

Questions were straightforward but I only remember four of them:

- Name of longest river (1 of 2)

- Date of Declaration of Independence

- Current speaker of house

- Who lived in America before Colonists arrived

Then I was told to read a sentence and write a sentence (mine were about Lincoln).

After that we went through the N-400 pretty much line by line and the interviewer repeated the questions almost exactly as worded.

Then I got form with the "recommended for approval" box checked and after some small talk (I asked how Gov't shutdown affected them - answer was it didn't) I was on my way!

Australia and New ZealandHoneymoon in New Zealand!

One of me and my husband's (who is the Kiwi) favorite trips we flew from Auckland to Christchurch and relocated an RV from Christchurch to Auckland in 5 days.
I concur with the South Island tip. Its amazing. Queenstown is a MUST. Fly down to Christchurch, drive to Queenstown with a stop at the magnificent Lake Tekapo. Over to Dunedin and back up seeing the Blue Penguins and stone buildings in Oamaru.

If you could push it past 10 days, it would be ideal. My mother came over for two weeks and it just felt like we were rushed in everything!

If you want some budgeting ideas, we used transfercar.co.nz a LOT. Also grabaseat.co.nz for flight deals.

Thank you for the helpful links!

Is two days for traveling (flying from the States) a good estimate?

Australia and New ZealandHoneymoon in New Zealand!
Hello everyone,
My husband and I haven't been on our honeymoon yet, and we'd like to plan ahead and go to New Zealand. I was wondering if anyone would like to share any tips or ideas with me. I have some questions too, any help would be greatly appreciated!
- I'd like to go in March; is that a nice time of year or would October be better?
- Is 10 days enough to cover both the South Island and North Island?
- If limited by time and money, which island should we focus on?
- Any stops we should be sure not to miss?
- Any specific suggestions? We like hiking, I'd love to go kayaking somewhere, and hang out by a beach or a lake for a couple days.

Thank you again for the help! We'd like to go in 2014, so knock on wood for us!

I was thinking case creation date should be the interview date.( though i'm not sure with this). Anyway sometimes mix-up in the system is normal.  The good thing is they keep updating your case. Exactly! CSC was always faster than VSC by months, but when they started slowing to VSC rates they all screamed loudly. Now they (CSC) have of approval rates...over 20 a day? That says they have stopped all other types and are only working on the K1s in CSC. Now VSC has slowed to a trickle...wonder where all those DACAs went to that were slowing down CSC......?????

I found this helpful: http://www.immigrati...-service-center
Always stay positive. EVERYONE has to wait. I'm going to keep the "faith" as the expression goes that Vermont is going to stay steady AND try to beat their goal and put all the other centers to shame, making them amp up their pace too.

I had to wait for a divorce certificate. Waited 7 months without being with my man. Now we have to wait another 5-7 months for VSC (just filed a couple weeks ago) and then I have to wait another 3 months for my interview. If someone's relationship can't take 2 months apart then consider it a blessing it ended now. I miss him so much. And to top it all off, I don't have ONE family member and my "friends" left me because they don't like my "lifestyle" anymore. I am alone just waiting to be with my true family, my fiance. I hate that VSC has stalled but I will look at is that they are remaining steady and approving people who aren't on this site. Be positive my friends. Today is one more day you can put behind you, one day closer to being with your love.

USCIS Service Centers15 approved petition everyday?

129fcomparison.gif

This is the graph I had mentioned.  It shows the total approvals for that month for each center.  Some people have a problem with me pointing this out.  Mostly it comes from the CSC people, but there is a large difference in approvals for seven months.  This is the "ammo" I can bring with me to my appointment.  I don't believe anyone can argue that fact that CSC has been faster than VSC historically.  I would pay to have my petition at CSC, even with a 2 month shutdown, they are making up for it in leaps and bounds.

I disagree that this is personal, the fact is VSC has slowed in the past few weeks to a crawl.  But everytime this is mentioned by anyone on the site, a CSC person seems to chime in...now why is that?  I can find over a dozen threads on CSC's slowdown and the frustration it was taking on the CSC people.

We all are waiting and both centers have people waiting more than the center's goals, so instead of attacking the accuracy of the delays occuring at VSC, why not either offer some positive words or just not comment?

Well said. Bravo!  I would pay whatever uscis wants if they would process it like an expedite.

Hannah777FemaleCanada2013-04-28 19:04:00
USCIS Service Centers15 approved petition everyday?

I don't know why I even bother reading these threads, I just get annoyed.  VCS is nowhere near their 5 months goal.  Minimum 6 months without an RFE and most are getting stupid RFE's over not checking a box of "N/A". So at least 7 months.   CSC is going through December's files already.  While I feel bad for those still stuck from July-Sept-I think there must have been something really nuts going on at the centre for that to happen. (DACA cases, flood, july vacations-staff being low, etc) Yet the same thing is happening at VCS, they just haven't voiced the usual negativity you hear on here.  There are definitely still files from that time frame still being processed.

VSC is slow.  Yet it's CSC customers ALWAYS complaining on here.  Pisses me off, we all have to wait.  You aren't getting sympathy from me today.  Gotta love (sarcastic) the "i would take slow and steady over unreliability"-until they get approved after 4 months...bet they change their mind then.  Slow and steady just means we KNOW we have to wait longer than CSC.
