US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDoes the appointment letter from the embassy really matter???

Hello guys need your help again...I have checked my case status and it's "READY" for interview. I would like to schedule an appointment online without the appointment letter yet or the packet 4 but my concern is that what if it will not  arrive until my chosen scheduled date? Is it possible to go for a medical and interview without the appointment letter from the embassy?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionReport of Marriage

Oh, and also - YES, ROM form needs to be notarized before sending in. Our notary just signed and stamped at the bottom of the form - there's a blank space at the bottom of the page. Good Luck!!!

Hi Mike&Gina thank u so much...helps me a lot  :joy:

They changed the form since we did ROM, on the old forms they specified the wife's maiden name, with this new form it doesn't say and I didn't see any instructions.  I would lean towards using the wife's maiden name.

Yes I agree...by the way, is the ROM form really need to be notarized if submitted by mail, as stated in the requirements? But I didn't see any space for notary in the form.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionK1 Visa interview in Casablanca Morocco, Are the odds against us?

Yes, I can say that a fast moving relationship is a red flag to them. It is understandable they see it this way though, as is it known that marriage fraud is a real thing.  It is a challenge for sure to convey what you want to them about your relationship and keep it as business as you can! But I know, the people who handle our cases, are real people with a job to do, and I believe they  look at the facts, and do their best to make the best decision. Hicham and I have been together for a while, and this separation is torture, so I understand your desire to t to get married and start your family ASAP ! :)

I don't have an answer exactly, but as long as you addressed all of your red flags in your petition, then you did the best that you can do. Hope everything works out. Very handsome couple :)

US Citizenship General DiscussionBecoming a USC
I posted this in General Immigration Related Discussion because I am not sure where else to post. My friendfrom the Netherlands has been in the US as a green card holder for 13 years now, she is fully legal , just keeps renewing her GC status , she is now thinking about becoming a USC and her only worry is when she was a teenager here living in America, she got a misdameanor charge for shoplifting. I can't answer her honestly if this is a major issue in becoming a USC , so I told her I would ask here first before she seeks legal counsel. So, is a misdemeanor such a signifigant offence that it would require some kind of waiver or anything to become a USC? Thanks so much for your help you guys :)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCONFUSED...I GOT THIS EMAIL FROM THE US EMBASSY BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO MAKE OF IT

From what am reading on ur post, you just got ur petition approved by USCIS, Your next stage is the NVC. USCIS is going to forward ur petition to the NVC for them to assign you a case number before forwarding it to the embassy. It usually takes about 1-8weeks for USCIS to receive and assign a case number but once they assign it, they usually ship it to the consulate within a week or two. so what you have to do now is wait for about a week or two and start calling NVC for ur case number, you can call them atleast next week and see if they have received ur petition and assigned a case number. from there you can check ur case number on https://ceac.state.g...er/Status.aspx? to check the status of your case.Once the consulate receives it then u can send them a mail within a week to ask when you can receive ur packets which includes ur interview date. Good luck!

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionghana consulate interview. is this normal??

Whole Facebook chat? If I brought my whole Google Chat it would be over a thousand pages? Will you be able to fit it all through the window? That has me rethinking how much I submit.

well if you guys met online then I would advice you bring ur chat from when u first started talking all through to how ur relationship started.I realised that the Accra consulate is very particular abt that if you met online but if you met in person then that is a different case all together, you can just provide sample chats but make sure you provide lots of ur pictures together with family and friends at different locations. you should be fine if ur relationship is real! nothing to stress abt!

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionghana consulate interview. is this normal??

well i was asked abt six questions. . . .

1.who petitioned for u?  2.how did u meet?  3.when?   4.when did she arrive in Ghana   5. How long did she stay?   6.how did the relationship start?  That was it! Then she asked me when my fiancee arrived  this time and when she would be leaving  then gave me a paper saying we should come back with more evidence  cuz she  doesn't  believe we have a romantic  relationship(with attitude n rudness). I don't have a problem if additional  evidence is needed but the fact that she was very rude and had an attitude got my fiancee  upset so she made a complaint  to a supervisor the next day.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionghana consulate interview. is this normal??

I have researched the Ghana interview thread and came up with a list of possible questions at the K1 interview so here goes:

How did you meet?
Where does petitioner work?
What does petitioner do for a living?
When did petitioner first come to the US?
What floor does petitioner work on?
What is petitioner?s address?

When did the man propose?

When do you plan to get married?
How many hours does petitioner work?
How many days does petitioner work?
How many times has petitioner come to Ghana?
How long did petitioner stay (each visit)?

What are the names of petitioner?s siblings, parents?

Have you met petitioner?s children/parents?

What are the names of petitioner?s children and how old are they?

What are the names of petitioner?s pets?

(If previously married)

What was petitioner?s husband/wife?s name?

How long were they married?

If you previously applied for a B2 visa for the same person you are going to be asked why you did so and were you planning of getting married on the B2 visa?

You are also going to be asked to write down your fiance(e)?s name on piece of paper (with no hesitation) so be prepared with spelling, etc.

So sorry to hear this. I went through a similar experience at the same Embassy 3 months ago with my fiance and mine did not end well but I wish you nothing but the best.

Just go back on the date assigned and hand them everything you brought plus anything else you can think of. If you are going with the petitioner please display as much affection as you can and also please hand in evidence to the person that comes through when you are in line so that the CO will have it by the time you get to the window. Best of Luck to you and yours.

well we provided that to prove that I was going to be on her insurance after we get married, her work knows about that already thats why that was included so I dont think that should have been a problem, just the CO been mean!

Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding, but to me that would be a bit weird.
You're not her spouse yet, you're her fiance.  Is there any
chance the CO is thinking you've already married, if you're claiming her
already as your spouse, when a K-1 cannot yet be married.  Just
noticed that, but I dunno what the norm is for your embassy.[/quote]

Yh we have a new interview date on 2nd January.i would make sure we submit double wat we sent earlier and add all our money gram receipts and receipt of where we are currently lodging together and more letters  of support. Maybe someone  on here can give me more ideas of what to add. Personally I think the co was just being rude n mean cuz she barley went through everything before making a decision. U might get lucky n meet a co who is mch patient

Well we submitted 100 pages of whatsapp chat, 20 screen shots of Facebook  chat and pictures showing engagement and all the comments, 12 pages of yahoo screen shots,15 pages of phone records showing calls made back and forth (clearly highlighted),63 album pictures of me and her with families and friends, letters of support from her sis, my mom and cousin, proof of me stated as her spouse and emergency contact on her employee profile , card I sent her on Val's day, receipt of restaurant that we had lunch plus she was with me at the embassy  but the rude and mean co wasn't satisfied. I wonder what she wants to see, crazy!

So I had my interview yesterday and was given a 221g form by CO requesting for additional evidence of relationship but then I checked my application online and realised that it had changed from Ready to Administrative processing. Does anyone given a 221g form goes under administrative processing??am just wondering...............

Aybee&SylviaMaleGhana2013-12-10 04:42:00
US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionK1 visa interview they requested more info have u had this issue?
Not really! It doesnt really depend on the interviewer but rather the case. If u met online then u should be prepared to provide a bunch of chat records to prove how u met and got involved but if u met in person then its likely they would only want to see more pictures less chat logs

I think it depends on the interviewer (CO). I My interview was less than 5 minutes and he never asked for any chat record at all. Make sure to print whatever they want and bring them with you to the interview. If they need 2011-2012 chat record, give them all of it.
