CanadaApproved November Filers - The Wait for Interview

Hi guys I called Service Canada thismorning to inquire about the EI when we move down. The lady was so nice, she said we can definatly claim, as long as we file within 30 days of leaving our jobs, then continue to fill out the EI report every week even though we are not receiving payments as this will keep the file open. Then when the EAD comes they will start paying benefits from the date we moved to the USA, so you don't lose any weeks if you are entitled to the full 36 weeks they will give you 36 weeks. Also they can deposit it into a USA account.

Have a good day

What??? That's real good news!!! What's the EAD?
That's awesome because I'll be out of work when school stops in June, so I was wondering about EI when I move... Thanks beantown for the info!

Just called DOS, quickest call ever: only rang twice! But... P3 still not logged in yet :crying: I guess I can't worry yet, it's only been 3 business days... I just thought that with everyone having their interviews, maybe they would have sped up the process... I guess not!
Please please, I want in in June too!!!

Oh, and congrats Valerie!!! If you need help with it, let us know!!!

Hey everyone...
Was talking with star shine and just wondering... What does the expiration date on the noa2 stands for anyways? Does that mean that if I don't have an interview date by that date, well I'm f*****???
Man, I just wish I could stop worrying about something one of these days...
Thanks for taking the time to answer...

Well well well,
Someone just got an interview for June!!! That's awesome, we're next! Maybe we won't be stuck here all summer after all! Yeah!
Question: where are you gonna go for your medical, those of you who are in Montreal?

Kizza: I think we're all there! If we forgot you, let us know!

Valerie 78: If you need anything for your P3, let us know!

I think I'm gonna wait for next Friday to call to see if we're logged in! Pray for me!!!

Hopefully we'll have interview before august, that'd be nice!
Have a good weekend everyone!

CanadaApproved November Filers - The Wait for Interview

Vero & Chris, don't worry about it, i send it by express post too without a signature. I sent it on march 18th, it was delivered in MTL on march 19th at 7am, and i only got logged on march 26th. If it says it was delivered, you're ok!!

And if you call tomorrow as you said, you'll only know if your P3 was logged or not, not really if interview dates were set up yet, unless you're really lucky, and if it's the case, tell us so we can call too! :P

Yeah, I was thinking that too after I posted that, I was like : 'man wouldn't that be nice if it was logged and had an interview date on the same day!'... But I'll call next Friday I think to see if it's been logged, so someone can go ahead and call tomorrow to see if there's any interview dates yet!

Keep us posted!!!

That's an awesome idea to call on different days! I can call tomorrow at 11:30 if ya'll want! They just received mine today, so I know it's not logged in, but I can spare 20 minutes of my time!

I'm pretty sure that police certificate are good for 1 year. I posted a question on that a little while ago, and a senior member said they were good for a year... I'll double check in my P3 to make sure though...

You know, I was gonna wait for the P4 for my medical too, but I'm scared the office will be closed at some point during summer, and with our luck, it'll be right in the middle of our P4s and interviews... I didn't see anything anywhere that states it has to be more recent than 3 months, so I was thinking of booking an appointment in June. Which office are you guys going to go with?

So, I have a little worry (because we already don't have enough of those) I sent my P3 through Xpress Post, but did not require a signature... I sent it to the adress on the P3, like asked. Do you guys think I should have requested a signature, or am I just trying too hard to find problems?

Let me know what ya'll think!
And I'll call DOS tomorrow to keep you posted!

Ah, that's awesome! Things are moving along, aren't they! I sure wish it'd go faster, but, he, the longest part of our wait is being us now!
J & J, if you need anything, let us know, and good luck with filling out everything!

Thanks AandB, I was gonna put 50 years too, but I got so frustrated after a while! I thought about that question so long I had to redo the whole thing because the application time had expired!

Valerie78, don't worry too much, Montreal seems a little slow (that's an understatement) and there was Easter weekend too not long ago, so, that could be a reason why it's slow. Keep bugging DOS!

Well, I'm so happy we're all keeping each other posted! I don't feel alone in the world anymore!
Cheers!

Alright,
So I just sent off my P3, priority mail. They should be receiving it tomorrow according to the lady at the post office.
J & J, did you receive your P3 yet?
I'm glad this step is done, and I hope with all my heart that we're all gonna get our interview dates in 3 months (which seems to be the average right now after P3 is logged in) rather than the 4 to 6 months written in their letter!

Oh, and thanks Kizza for the reassurance! I was freaking out a little last nice with that question! Glad I wasn't the only one who thought it was kind of pointless!

Cheers!

Holy sh***...
I just completed everything for the P3, and my head feels like it's gonna spilt in half! It all went well, uploading the picture and everything - thanks for the tip about cropping it though :)! I am just a little concerned about the question on the online form: how long to you intend to stay? What kind of trick question is that!!!??? I wanted to put down forever, but I had no idea what to do! I ended up writing 3 years because I'll have to come back to Quebec then to celebrate my parents' 50th anniversary...

Do you guys think that'll be ok if I wrote down 3 years???

Gosh... I hope they're not gonna make a big deal out of it...

But at least it's all done and ready to be sent priority tomorrow...

Exhausted! :sleepy:

Got the P3 today! I hope that I can fill up everything tonight! I have a passport picture on a CD, but saw yesterday that it's actually two, one side by side... Hopefully I'll be able to upload it alright... Wish me luck!

Hey there,

Im not a November filer, but I sure am waiting for an interview.

I heard that browsers like firefox only print the first 3 pages. It took me hours to fill in the form ds-160, and had to upgrade Internet Explorer to version 8. It did work in the end, accepted my photo, but I got a lot of error and run-time messages before it did. Save your file often.

At the end, you get the option to print the whole form, print the confirmation page, or email the confirmation page, which I did, just in case. But I think this is your one chance to print the whole form.

Thanks Kizza!
Explorer it will be then! Gosh I hope it comes today!! This is driving me nuts!

Thanks AandB for the useful info!
I did hear somewhere that some people were able to send the form without the passport picture, but as to how they did it, I'm clueless too.
I got passport pictures done recently and paid extra for them to put one on a CD. So I'll see how it goes when it comes to uploading it. Should be fine though (well, I hope!)

Just with you guys, I feel 10 times better, knowing I'm not alone goint through Montreal! I have a tendency to freak myself out over stupid stuff, so your support is awesome!

I'll keep you posted if I get the P3 tomorrow (knock on wood!)

Sounds Great! Wouldn't mind having a June interview

AandB did you have a hard time with the online forms? I'm nervous about it..lol When your finished logging in all your info in the forms do they have a print button to print out ALL the pages plus the conformation page? or should you use your print button from internet explore tab once your finished logging your info in on each page? I heard some people had some problems with printing and I'm hoping I don't have the same problem.

I'm probably worrying for nothing......

Hey ya'll!
J &J: I'm worried about it too!!! Heard so much about people having a hard time with it... Insight on that one needed on my end too!!!

Checked my mail box today....STILL no P3 :clock:

Hey again!
So this is what I read on a forum somewhere on here two weeks ago: people that had their P3 logged in in February were getting interviews in May. They were saying that if it turns out to be a trend, people that get their P3 logged in in March could get their interview in June and so forth.
Gosh I can't wait!!!

Called DOS today, and they said that my P3 was mailed in late March. So I hope I'll get it this week!
I'll keep you posted!

Cheers! :energy:

Bonjour, hello November filers!

Just thought I'd start a topic for all of us whose petitions were approved and who are now waiting for their P3 and interview.

I'd be awesome if we could all keep each other posted on when we got our P3 (in my case, not yet!), when it was logged, and P4s and interviews!

So, I'll start sharing!
NVC forwarded our file to Montreal on March 24th. Still no P3. Hopefully next week, or I'll call by Thursday. How is calling the DOS like? Long wait?

Well, good luck everyone!
Cheers and Happy Easter!

CanadaForms Montreal Consulate requires before K1 Visa interview is set
Hi!
When I received my P3 in April, I basically sent the forms you said, and am bringing the rest at the interview. I don't know if the letter has changed, but on the cover letter, it is said to NOT send in the forms on the checklist, but to check the checklist and send it signed. I don't know if it helps!
People that recently had their interview did it this way, and it's fine.
Good luck!
Vero and ChrisFemaleCanada2010-06-27 19:32:00

Wow! Congratulations on getting through with them!
That's good news! You should be getting it this week if not early next week!
Vero and ChrisFemaleCanada2010-07-06 11:32:00
CanadaVisa still not printed
Hey!
Congratulations on being approved! So at the interview, you were told "your visa is approved"? If so, then it's probably a matter of bureaucracy (hope you can say that in English!).
When you think about it, there was a holiday the day after your interview, which means the consulate people were off. Then the 1st of July, which means again they were off. And today they're not working because the 4th of July was yesterday, a Sunday... They'll be off today because of that (mother in law works for the US governement and she's off today)...
So technically, the consulate has had only 5 work days since your interview...Try not to worry too much, give it another week and see what happens.

Hope this helps!

CanadaI-134: 2 small Questions!
Hey everyone,

I'm trying to get the support form ready and I have two questions. Also, we are using a co-sponsor and one of the question is relevant to this.

So #1: Question 11 reads: I intend/do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3.

So the example on VJ says to put "N/A K-1 visa process for permanent residence". Is this still correct? Has anyone had problems when writing this? (Of course I would have read it, but I'm just double-checking because I AM this an*l) And do you leave the boxes empty?

#2: When the co-sponsor fills in the form, I guess she will put "None" to questions 8 (dependent persons),9 (previously submitted affidavit) and 10 (submitted visa petitions)? But where does she specifies that she is co-sponsoring me as the petitioner's mother? In question 11? Then does she still leave the boxes empty (see #1)?

Thank you so much for taking the time to clarify this for me, I'm a little confused, and I want to make sure I get this form right before leaving for my interview!
Thanks!

CanadaEmergency!! really need useful advise on this, please

Hi guys,

still the criminal record check issue.

My fiancee has lived in 2 cities in Canada more than 1 year, so should she obtain 2 criminal record check from those 2 cities or obtain 1 criminal record check from RCMP?

When you go to the RCMP, they will issue a criminal check that says, quote: " This certifies that a search, based on the above name and date of birth, failed to disclose any such person with a record of criminal convictions in the national repository for criminal records in Canada.

CanadaGetting an Interview Date in Montreal

Looks like it is picking up. The timelines similar to mine (NOA2 from June) have interview dates in August...... if I can get an interview date by the end of August I'll probably sh*t my pants because it means we can have the wedding we want in Sept. I'm just trying to find the right number to call Montreal and confirm if they have received our package from NVC... should be there!

Montreal does not accept phone inquiries... I know you probably heard this a million times, but try to stay patient with Montreal... Your P3s will come, it just takes them a while to get to their mail!
Last time they gave out interview dates, they literally skipped a month, and people like me had to wait a good 60 days after our P3 were logged in to get a date from DOS! And I know A LOT of CR-1 are still waiting on interview dates, and from like March-April! Crazy!!!
Hopefully you guys will hear something by the end of July for September or something. But don't worry if you don't, it means it will be in August for interviews in October... That's what happened to our bunch. And now, time is flying by for us and we don't think back about being so mad at waiting for Montreal all this time!
Good luck with everything, and stay patient  !
Vero and ChrisFemaleCanada2010-07-16 06:46:00
CanadaGetting an Interview Date in Montreal
Peachy is right, don't expect a date soon. In fact, you can expect to wait 50-70 days before DOS gives you an interview date, and that date could end up being 4 to 8 weeks from the time you find out.
Look at other people's timeline, it'll help you see what you can expect.

Good luck!

CanadaNew I-134 Form - Signature
Rose416, if you ask your fiance to fill it in and then mail it to you, wouldn't that work?
I'm sure if you printed out the page of the USCIS website, and brought that with you, that would work too (the one that states that it's ok to use the old form)...

Anyone else has toughts about the new I-134 form?

CanadaNew I-134 Form - Signature
Hey everyone,
I have a question regarding the new I-134 form for K-1 visas. At the very end, were the sponsor signs, there is a space provided, and when you leave the cursor on it, it says : "Enter Relationship". It's weird because it's right in the middle of the text, and seems to have no relation to the text itself...

The example on here is the old version, so it does not help with the problem, but has anyone else noticed that? And what exactly do you put there?

Thank you so much for answering, I'm trying to complete eveything before my interview, and that's the last problem I'm facing!
Vero and ChrisFemaleCanada2010-07-18 10:51:00
CanadaWhen should I worry?
Don't worry about it, DOS told me they had sent my P3, and after 2 weeks I finally received it. On the enveloppe, it actually was mailed a week after DOS told me... Montreal probably logs in mail out way before they do mail it out I guess...
