CanadaQuestion about final interview in Montreal
I went alone, and the man that interviewed me asked me why Chris couldn't attend and that was it, the rest of the questions (which were very few) were all about me!

CanadaIs it just me, or is this kind of overwhelming?
Got married on Thursday! It was simple, nothing fancy, but I managed to get emotional! Really happy! And ready to face this AOS process! Thanks for the help guys!

CanadaIs it just me, or is this kind of overwhelming?
Wow, thank you so much guys! I can't even think about how I would go through this process, or would have gone through the K-1 process without this site and everyone on this forum!

Thanks again!

CanadaIs it just me, or is this kind of overwhelming?
I feel calmer now, I just looked at everything briefly and was freaking out -nothing abnormal in my case!

Thanks for the wishes everyone, I've got butterflies now that I've calm down, I can't believe tomorrow is the day we've been waiting for for so long!

CanadaIs it just me, or is this kind of overwhelming?

The AOS was really the easiest part of the process. Set it aside and enjoy your wedding day. When you come back to it, sit down and highlight all the action items on the instructions. That will reduce it to something manageable. When you have completed each action item, cross it off. Once you have sent off your AOS, print off the Removal of Conditions instructions and highlight all those action items. You need to start collecting evidence from this point forward so it helps to be aware of the requirements.

Congratulations on your wedding!

Thanks for the tip, I'll remember that!

CanadaIs it just me, or is this kind of overwhelming?
So, I downloaded all the forms and guides this morning, and now I'm in panic mode (again?!? yeah...)

This is A LOT to do! I never thought it'd be this complicated, I guess I was being naive. Am I the only one who has had a panic attack looking at everything that needs to be done for the AOS!?! I'm getting married tomorrow, and now I feel like I'm gonna lose it instead of being happy and excited about tomorrow...

At least it's comforting to browse through the AOSers topic and see that people are going through it and staying sane!

Be ready for a flood of retarded questions coming from me in the next month or so!

CanadaEAD ( Form I-795) Question

FYI, I was basing my comment on these instructions I found:

Question #13: “Place of last entry into the U.S.” List the most recent arrival city of the airport (i.e. Boston, New York, San Francisco, etc.) where you landed from overseas. If crossing the border from Canada or Mexico, list that particular border station.

But honestly I doubt it even matters, I'm sure people have intererpted the question both ways.

Perfect! Thanks for that! No it didn't say anything... So I wrote down Montréal, Québec(flying to Atlanta Georgia)

That should be good, right?
Vero and ChrisFemaleCanada2010-09-16 09:40:00
CanadaEAD ( Form I-795) Question

#1- I left those blank since we never applied for an EAD before

#2- US City

Thanks nickbiths! I posted this on the AOS forum, and someone pointed out to me that I 'crossed' the border before getting on the plane in Montreal, so I'm gonna go ahead and put that down...

CanadaEAD ( Form I-795) Question
Hey everyone,
I have finally decided to start this AOS process, I put my pants on and am ready to face Goliath. I'm starting with what seems like the easiest, and still have a couple questions for you. I'm working on the employment authorization form right now, and here's where I'm stuck (please don't laugh at my idiotic questions! :D )

Ok, so before question 12, they ask you:

Which USCIS Office / Dates
Results (Granted or Denied - attach all documentation)

What am I to write there? Vermont Service Center? The date we sent in the I-129F? And then a copy of our NOA2?

And then, question 13:

Place of last entry into the U.S.

Here, do I write Montreal airport, or the city in which I flew in?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

CanadaA-#, I-94 # and Nonimmigrant Visa #
You know what, I think I typed in the A before the numbers, so that's probably what happened... I'll review everything today and I bet you it'll be fine!
:bonk:
Vero and ChrisFemaleCanada2010-09-17 06:20:00
CanadaA-#, I-94 # and Nonimmigrant Visa #

When you enter the number onto the I-485 form it automatically formats it with the dashes and spaces holders (zeros). At least the form did it for me automatically once I clicked outside the box! Are you filling it out on computer or by hand btw...

Really? Mummm... Mine didn't do that.... So does it put the zero after the A or not? 'Cause I'll enter it manually whatever you say... Weird...
Vero and ChrisFemaleCanada2010-09-16 16:45:00
CanadaA-#, I-94 # and Nonimmigrant Visa #
Thanks! So what would you guys do, write the one on the back of the I-94 (w/o the 0) or write the one on the NOA2 (with the 0)....
Vero and ChrisFemaleCanada2010-09-16 11:17:00
CanadaA-#, I-94 # and Nonimmigrant Visa #

ya my a# is the same A0 then the rest

Thanks! Do you guys think it is a big deal if the officer did not write the 0 after the A on the I-94? The NOA2 had the 0 though...
Vero and ChrisFemaleCanada2010-09-16 10:55:00
CanadaA-#, I-94 # and Nonimmigrant Visa #
Thanks everyone! So I guess the A# actually has a 0 after the A...

Thanks again, this helps A LOT!

CanadaA-#, I-94 # and Nonimmigrant Visa #
Hey everyone, again!

Quick questions:
- A-Number (alien registration number): Is that the one hand-written on the back of the I-94 attached to my passport?
- I-94 Number: Is that the one in bold letter written on the form attached in my passport? It has 11 numbers and the last 2 ones are seperated?
- Nonimmigrant Visa Number: Is that the red number visa in my passport? It has 8 numbers...

Thanks again!!!

CanadaQuestion about application for travel doc. - AOS
Hi everyone,
Here's another of my crazy questions...

In the I-131 application for travel document, part 7 question 1 "how many trips do you intend to use this document" the example on here says to select "more than one trip". So, in the letter I have to attach to that form, do I specify all the trips I wish to make with the document? I mean, I know I want to go back in May for a reception we're planning back home, but do I invent other ones? I don't know if I'll want to go again until I get my green card...

And also, in the supplement letter, I have a concern. The paragraph state "I have not at any time accrued 180 continuous days of unlawful presence within the U.S". Well, when I first met Chris, I spent 180 days here, flew back home on the 180th day just before filing for the I-129F. Never faced an issue at the border or at the interview, since I flew back in time. So am I ok to write that statement down on the supplement? I just didn't want to write something that might be untrue. I mean, I think I'm good but I just want to make sure that my situation is ok with that statement... Does that make any sense?

Thanks again for the help, getting closer to being done with the package, just a couple more forms, and a couple more crazy questions!

CanadaQuestion about Medical for AOS

El oh el!

i swear in french purposely so i dont offend my husband or his family...although he has picked up a few choice words and knows i must be really mad when i do that..lol.

i mean gah...i dont get people here about helathcare..seriously would def prefer you take an extra 25 or w/e off my pay..saves me from forking over soo much $$$$.

So true! I know Chris and I have to shop for insurance one of these days, but with both of us being smokers, watch out for fee! Can't wait for 2014, when at least some stupid laws will change...

And I swear in French too! Everyone here gets a kick out of it, they say it's exotic!
Vero and ChrisFemaleCanada2010-09-22 12:07:00
CanadaQuestion about Medical for AOS

You haven't seen anything yet..wait till you try getting insurance...I pay 3000 a year,a 2000 deductible and only 80 percent covered, and that's under my wife's company plan, and there's still people here that will fight you tooth and nail about free health care...

I know, I get so mad when I hear people against it, I'm like WHAT? Are you kidding? Yeah, please bill me 1500$ for stiches, that's WAY better than 10% taxes....

Oh well, I won't get started on this or I'll get all French and stuff!
Vero and ChrisFemaleCanada2010-09-22 11:41:00
CanadaQuestion about Medical for AOS

For mine I put in the letter and attached the bill from the medical that had the date and all the info stating I payed for K-1 medical etc. Also included a copy of the vaccination sheet that medisys gave me and was approved without a I-693.

I did however get one just incase there was an RFE but that was because the DR office was dicking me around and wouldnt see me untill after I had already sent the packet in. Charged me 34$ then sent me a 300$ bill in the mail for it!

Ouch! I'm gonna miss our 'free' health care I tell you that!!!

Thanks for the info!

CanadaQuestion about Medical for AOS
Good morning everyone!

So, again with the questions!

I am almost done with the AOS stuff, and I'm just about to start the medical form. I don't know if this is going to ring a bell, but a little while ago, I remember reading a post by AandB, and she was saying that she put a letter with her AOS explaining how she had just had a medical done for her interview in Montreal. From what I can remember, several members have done that for their AOS and it got approved fine...

So do I need to go see a doctor again or is this letter AandB was talking about all I need? If so, is there an example of that letter?

Thanks again for your time everyone!

Congratulations Valerie78! FINALLY some good news! Don't worry about Canada post just yet, if your item doesn't pop up on their site, it's because it hasn't been mailed yet. And the site was very accurate in my case anyways...

i just tried that number again, and it just rings and rings. goes into 'voicemail' and says that the person at this line does not subscribe to voicemail..

i don't think they answer that number anymore either.

Gosh, really? Even when you key in the "death of a US citizen"? Keep harassing your senator/congressman! They wouldn't have a job after all if it weren't for your hard earned money...

So, he hasn't received the enveloppe yet... What happens when he checks on the Canada post website? Well, I think you should consider calling the embassy at this point... This sucks, you're in my thoughts girl, hang in there! (F)

Wow, I can't believe this! You must be sooooo mad! My thoughts are with you and I hope you hear some good news soon... After all, you were told you were approved, I don't see how they can turn around and just put you in AP without even letting you know (thanks, Montreal)...
Hang in there, I guess I don't know what else to say, this must be such a pain in the ***...
