Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	Got back from my trip to Canada, just wanted to let ya'll know that my expired G/C with extention letter worked fine, just handed them to the border patrol, he read over the NOA and asked some simple questons and let us through with no troubles. So if anyone is planning a trip soon, it's not a pain at all to use. Glad everyones biometrics went well Good to know it's that simple! How long were you in Canada? Did you get a lot of snow? I'm going to the DMV to attempt getting my driver's license renewed; last time I was there two years ago with the I757 (or something like that) I had to go to two different offices because they said I wasn't allowed to drive. We were 3 hours early, but they took me in anyways. It was a brand new facility in Norfolk, VA. The staff was so nice, very friendly. We were in and out in 10 minutes. Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	Hey guys, I just posted this on the removing conditions thread in the Canada forum, but I thought I'd post it here too in case someone can help: Hey everyone, just a quick question! I'm finished and ready to send my documents. In early December we had ordered checks with our new address, but for some reason, there was a mistake in the printing, and as a result, I won't have our new checks until mid-January. Can I pay using a check with our old address or will they see that as an issue? Our bank doesn't issue money order, would a cashier's check work? At first we had paperclips, but it seemed to bulky, so we changed it to coloured tabs and topped it off with a large clip on the top of the whole package. Got my Biometrics appointment in the mail Saturday for Jan 2! Hopefully I'll get over this flu soon Yeah! That's quick too! Oh no! You're sick? Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	How long did it take you to get your passport back? Starting to freak out now...working around vacation planning and ROC timelines, fun! Not. It was super quick actually... Don't worry about the passport expiring during the ROC, I was sure I read that somewhere and I cannot find it now... From sending it to receiving it back, it took two weeks to the day, and I was changing my name too. If you're going up during Xmas, you can get your pictures done, that's what I did since I was up during the summer. Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	Hi everyone! Glad to hear from you Brenda2010!!! Glad that everything is going well! When we renew our Green Card, our passport needs to be valid for at least another 6 months, or something along those lines. I renewed mine because by the time I send in my ROC package, my passport would have only been valid until July. Plus, I wanted to change my name on the passport so it matches the Green Card. Wow, only half an hour away! Nice! I have to drive two hours to go to the closest office. Not fun... J&J, let me know when you do send it in, I'll update our chart So my address change documents were received on 10/15/2012, and I still haven't received a notice or confirmation of some sort... Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	Wow this thread is still active--nice!! Seems like everyone is doing pretty well. Katrina is working now as a Lab Technician in major hospital around here. She is underemployed from what she could be doing in Canada (needs a degree here to do the same job) and she might go back to school and finish it at some point, but at least she's working. You may recall from earlier in this thread when I was in the hospital; 2 years later I still do not have a diagnosis but it looks like I have multiple sclerosis. I am doing OK but am on constant medication. Umm what else... we went on a cruise last month but it was cut short and rerouted because of Issac but we still had a good time. I think that's about it... I mailed in Katrina's I-751 form on Monday, now the waiting process begins again! I wonder if we'll need to do another interview or not. Hi nickbits!!! Glad to hear from you! I'm sorry about your health issues, are you doing OK in general? Are you in a lot of pain? I know, I felt the same way at first when I started working, thinking gosh I could be making so much more money! But at least we have work, right? Congratulations on sending in the form! Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	looks like people are able to file for naturalization before they get ROC completed.. i'm just worried about evidence. all we do is work pretty much, we haven't gone on any vacations and the one we went on last summer, we didn't take any pictures.. we're not picture people awesome about your house vero we finally got into a house last october, we're renting. it's a hundred times better than that damn townhouse with a ten year old, a 100lb dog and three cats - there was no room left!!!! Wow, yeah, seems like it's going pretty slow. That makes me nervous; what if we have to travel during that time, what happens then? Do you have bills under his name? I guess anything that proves you're both at the same adress will work. It's more proof than pictures, in my book! You guys have anything fun planned for the long weekend? Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	Hello all! Mailed passport application yesterday! Knock on wood for me! We're supposed to close on the house today, but we're not sure yet. It could be tomorrow or Friday. We're waiting on the seller, and since it's a foreclosure, it's the biggest headache you can imagine... I'm not moving for the next 40 years, I swear! Hey everyone. Been a while since I've been on here. Vero, my niece that was visiting is 13 years old. She was such a big help around here with Alex and she made me breakfast every day. It was wonderful and I miss her a lot. Alex told me today that he misses her and is sad. We are hoping to go visit for Canadian thanksgiving. My nieces and nephew are like siblings to Alex because we lived with them for 2 and a half years of his life. He is always talking about them and asking when we are going to visit them. I love that they have that strong bond. How is everything with your house going? I hope you get the keys to it soon. J&J how are things with you? Your son is lucky to be so close with his cousins! So I just sent my original. Yeah, I read it last night, and it's on there. It's a good thing I read your post or I would have completely forgotten about that! Canada	August Interviews Crew - AOS Journey	Yes Ma'am, I sent it UPS so I sent it to the Courier address: BY COURIER Passport Canada 22 de Varennes Street Gatineau QC J8T 8R1 CANADA I sent my filled in form, with the guarantor section all signed. 2 passport photos, one with the guarantors signature. My original Birth certificate and original marriage certificate and valid passport. Sent copies of my Permanent resident card and Texas id card front and back with my guarantors signature and date on it. Yeah, they have a number made with tiny pin holes on every page but the front. So excited to hear about the closing of the house, i'm wishing all goes well next Wednesday, i'll be thinking of ya'll and keeping my fingers crossed I know!!! I'm so excited too!!! I have to send mine in now, I had to wait until July ended because the expiration date was July 2013, and apparently you can send a form when there's a year left on the passport. I'll keep you posted! Chris and I are closing on our house next Wednesday if all is OK (foreclosures can be complicated I hear, and so far, it's been a nightmare!)I was doing good as far as not getting ahead of myself and being too excited... But I can't believe that a week from now, I might have the keys to our house!!! And we bought a couch too last weekend! I'll let you guys know how it all turns out!
