I don't recollect seeing in any thread of anyone doing it - you can be one of the first ones to try it. Let's know the outcome - remember to take passport also.

 

By the way I tried checking the case status using the reference number from the biometric letter and the system didn't recognize it yet - probably will after the biometrics are done. Let's know if any others have similar or different experience.

 

Thank you Navyk. I will try going to a different ASU(Once I receive the Biometrics letter) and keep everyone posted about the outcome.

We had a similar situation where even though we had completed AR-11 online after our move more than an year ago, our "reminder" letter was initially sent to our old address (and routed back to USCIS, came to new address with an AR-11 form attached).

 

I called USCIS and was told to just list the correct address on the ROC forms when submitting them and fill out the AR11 form attached and mail it in as instructed on the form. I was also told that the only way to check which address was on file (currently) with our case was to make an infopass appointment with a local office and check in person (which we were not going to do).

 

We had the correct address listed on all forms and mailed in the AR11 form again just to be safe. From then on we received NOA letters, approval letter, GC all at our current address. Hope this helps, good luck!

Hi everyone,

We got a text/email with usps tracking# on 8/20/13 and our card came in the mail yesterday (8/22/13). I hope everyone else gets good news soon.

 

Just as reference, some of the things we included in our packet...

 

-mortgage statement/hud-1 settlement statement/copy with both our names

-apartment lease contract with both our names for the past 3 years until we purchased our home this year

-DL showing the same address over the course of our marriage

-statements from joint checking account (all pages, every other month) over the course of our marriage

-joint tax returns (not transcripts) for past 2 years

-various insurance (car, home, liability) policies with both our names (included all pages of statements)

-flight tickets/itineraries of domestic/international vacation taken together

-sworn affidavit from 2 friends

-photos through out our marriage with friends, families

We went and got my husband's biometrics done on 6/12 as scheduled (arrived an hour early, in and out in 30 min).

We finally got our NOA letter last weekend with one year extension (notice date was 5/17/13) so sometime biometrics appointment letter could be issued ahead of the receipt NOA letter as another member pointed out smile.png

You still have time before they even stamp the passport.  If you call prior to 30 days, they just ask you to wait 30 days and call them again...I called them with regard to my BIO appointment and the fact that I hadn't received the letter after 27 days, and they told me to wait 30 days.  I waited 30 days and called again....was eventually told that no BIO appointment needed due to an earlier application that reguired BIO last summer! 

 

Thank you for that information, I'll definitely wait 30 days before calling. I'm glad to know that it is possible to receive an NOA letter before the biometrics appt letter. Will be watching the mailbox as well. Thanks!

Hi everyone,

 

My husband became eligible to apply for ROC on 4/25/2013 and here is our current progress.

We have mailed out our I - 751 packet on 4/27 which arrived at the Vermont Service Center on 4/29. Our check cleared on 5/10 and I-797C NOA for a biometrics appointment for 6/12 arrived today (notice date 5/15).

 

We never received our first NOA letter and would like to find out if anyone has suggestions on how to recover that first NOA. Planning on calling the customer center on Monday but wasn't sure what else to do.

Well the test they were waiting for came back negative so they are going to do the brain biopsy today. But I won't get the results of that until Friday.

My brother had a brain tumor when he was in his 20s, and today he's as healthy as they come. You and your wife are in our prayers, and let us know how everything goes please! (F)

Chris' mom works for the governement, and she was telling me that she has so many hours of leave she needs to take before 2011 or else she'll loose them. I can only imagine how many other government workers are in her situation, so I'm not expecting much to happen with my case until the new year... I guess they'll worry about their Christmas before ours, sadly...

Gosh, what does the USCIS website say? I have no clue, I know it was supposed to go up, but I don't know how much it is now...

Alright, just went and looked it up on there site, and here's the answer:

No warnings really. I was feeling semi nauseous the while day but that isn't out if the ordinary for me (started a few weeks before I got married so I assumed it was just stress associated with that).

This really isn't too relevant to this thread but I wanted to let my VJ friends know what's going on. I was taken to the er and admitted into the hospital last night for a seizure. I've never had one before and it really freaked my wife out. I'm waiting for some more tests right now as the first batch was inconclusive.

Moral of the story: don't cheap out on health insurance. I can only imagine the bill will be around 10k and I really wouldn't want to have to pay that myself.


Gosh, nickbits, that's scary! Are you better? What caused it, do they know? Will you have to take medication? How long did you have to stay in? Did you have symptoms before?

Vero, I forgot to tell you that I received my EAD and AP in the mail. AP arrived November 22nd, and EAD on the 23rd.
Actually, I almost never got it!
My landlady accidentally grabbed it in her pile of penny savers ads. She was about to throw the ads away when she noticed a white envelope poking out. I couldn't believe it when she told me! Of all things to lose, that is probably the most important to me right now!


Hahaha! Gosh, that was close!!! I would have been so mad at her!!! At least she realized it before it was too late!!! Congratulations on receiving them both! That's good news!

Ya the AOS is definitely easier because it's the 2nd time around. The only thing that confused me was the medical junk. VJ made it unclear so I went by what the application said and others confirmed.

Yes RFE was sent back last week. UPS confirmed it was received on Nov 24 however USCIS website has not listed any touches or updates. Really hope I get AP before Xmas! It's also getting annoying how a different family member emails or texts daily asking if I had have my GC yet. I've explained to them umpteen times what I am waiting for and how it works haha they act like I am keeping a secret, but it's USCIS that's keeping a secret hehehe. :lol:


Gosh, tell me about it! I have 3 brothers and 1 sisters, I get asked that A LOT! :lol:

Glad to hear from you mandaNchris! Glad everything went well!
As for the AOS, like ken and kate said it's not as hard as the I-129 package, but it was still a pain in the b*tt to assemble. A lot of it you already have from the K-1... It takes a day or so to fill in everything, it's just all the other stuff they want with it that takes a little bit. But you'll be fine, don't worry! And feel free to ask all the questions you want!

we've received the email notifications and the check was cashed - no hard copy noa1 yet...anyday now.

i will say that waiting together is much better than waiting apart..i still find myself in shock kind of, like - is that all really behind us???

You know, as much as there is a lot of uncertainty with this AOS stuff, I'm so glad to be home and be done with the waiting on Montreal part... Such a relief!!!
Did you guys notice that there doesn't seem to be a lot of interviews for November and December? I guess with people setting up their own interview dates, we won't hear as much about it...

We had a good thanksgiving, but like many holidays like that, Chris' family has a hard time since Chris lost his brother a year ago. But we managed ok, thanks to several 7&7s and glasses of wine! Christmas will be even harder since he was born on December 24th.

Went for my biometrics appointment yesterday. Everything went well, it was so quick I couldn't believe it! I got there one hour and a half ahead of time and they took me anyways. Didn't really care much for the 2 hours drive there, but glad it's over!
I was expecting a touch or something after driving back home, but nothing yet. I guess with thanksgiving, a lot of employees probably had days off and what not.
Oh and for those of you that haven't gone through it yet, I was asked for a piece of ID with my married name on it. I didn't know that, but I had my DL with me, so I was ok...

I feel like a weight's been lifted off my back; just received FOUR identical emails telling me USCIS has received my AOS/EAD package :D Was just starting to get worried it got lost in the mail. I guess my case hasn't been officially received yet, since the receipt number cannot be found on uscis.gov .. oh well, gotta give them time :)


Same thing happened to me, I think I was in there system when I got the actual paper notice if I remember... Not too worry, from what others have said their website is not the most accurate/updated... So I'll put your notice date as today, you did receive the e-mails today, right?

Gosh what a mess! I can't believe you actually waited on hold for that long, I would have riped the phone out of its socket! Is there an IRS office close to you? You could always go and get the forms you need if you don't have them... I guess include in you cover sheet for your RFE that your resubmitting the forms you sent in the first place... Who knows, maybe they got lost on someone's desk (how convenient would that be!!!)
Keep us posted, and sorry you went through all that... I put the right date on the chart, not that it matters really...

I mean, why does it even matter at this point, you need the damn thing to have an interview at the consulate, so obviously you got one!!! It's completely backwards! EEFF! I got an RFE. Just received the email notice this morning. I have no idea what it could be for since I sent them everything they ask for and more. Ugh. Frustrating. Hopefully it's something silly. Annoying though because I was hoping I could make it home for Xmas and an RFE will likely make that not possible :crying:
