I got my NOA 2 on March 4th and have called the NVC no. all week and the pre-recorded recording still says no record of my case no? How long does it normally take NVC to get your NOA2 and have the voice recording changed etc?


K1's are not put in the automated system at NVC. You have to speak to a real person. If you check the automated system it will always say your information has not been received. You are probably already through NVC and on the way to the consulate.

So 3 days after NOA2 i get another touch does that maen it arrived ar the NVC



It probably means they mailed it to NVC. The petitions don't get entered into the system at NVC, so they don't have "touches"

Hmm.. I don't know about if you really need a police check from every city you've lived in for more than a year.. I think you would need a police certificate from every COUNTRY that you've lived in for more than a year, but not city... but yeah, don't know that for sure.

I have already lived in the States for a year and for my visa back then I needed a police certificate as well. I'm never home during the week and my mom got it for me from the police station in my hometown just fine, no problem at all, I didn't have to show up in person there. But I don't know about the situation in Canada.. but I think it would be crazy having to drive across the whole country for gathering numerous pieces of police certificates, one here, one there, escpecially by public transport .. there has to be an easier way I think smile.gif


Depends on the country. Turkey wants police certificate from every place lived since the age of 16.

I knew your due date was coming up, so logged on to see if there were any updates from you . SO HAPPY TO READ THE NEWS!

Hope everyone is doing well. Fuat is in Turkey at the moment.. left on Friday and will be back on Wednesday. His 14 year old sister was approved for a visitor visa, so he went home to get her and she will stay with us for the summer. :)

Making plans for New York, Virginia Beach, Grand Canyon, Vegas, Hollywood, Chicago.. only problem is I have a job so not sure how we are going to go to all the places I want to take her when that pesky job expects me to be at work once in a while :)

This is the first time Fuat and I have been apart since March 21, 2010.. so feels strange to be alone!

can't wait to hear how everyone is and Krystle, can't wait to see pictures of the new man in your life.

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would stop by and see what's going on. I miss being on here, but like everyone else I get so busy it's hard to find time to be here every day like we used to be.

KRYSTLE...the other day I thinking about all my predictions. Didn't I predict you would be the first to have a baby? I haven't gone back to look, but I think so. KAYLA... I predicted you were second, so you better watch out girl!!

Things have been going well for us. Today is one year since my surgery and I have been cancer free for 8 months ... so things are finally getting back to normal.

Kayla, wondering how things are with you and if you are enjoying your new life in your new city :)

Oh...just to get all your minds thinking... can you believe Fuat and I only have 10 1/2 months to go before we have to start filing for removal of conditions :) This is going to go by fast. I'm not sure, but I think we are the first of us to have to do it... at least the first of us still on here.

HOpe everyone is doing well.. and Krystle you are in my thoughts almost every day now. The time is coming soon MOMMA!

HEY.... Congrats on the jobs for the husbands! Fuat just went back to work at the park as well, so he's pretty happy ( me too).

Frenzy, I feel your pain.. I did the full time job/full time student thing too.

Karen, I too have that 24/7 shift with 8-10 hours of it spent in the office. Fun isn't it?

Does anyone know how to get in touch with Kayla? I sent her a message on her, but haven't heard from her. If her husband is still looking for a job we have a position he might be suited for and I want to get a job description to his ASAP.

It has gotten to the po?nt that the ?nternat?onal employees that work for me have asked me to stop com?ng to the?r country :) We w?ll see what happens ?n Jordan but my plan ?s st?ll to get on the plane tomorrow. As for work.... The park closed ?n November and Fuat has been look?ng s?nce then. No luck. Its very frustrat?ng because there seem to be hundreds of jobs ?n our area but thousands of people look?ngç,. Fortunaltey he can go back to work at the park ?n one month. He gets frustrated but then I rem?nd h?m of everyone who doesnt have a seasonal job to go back to and those of you that have been here for so long and look?ng.

Our first one together was so nice :):)

Tomorrow we leave for Turkey and Jordan. Fuat's mom will be surprised when we walk through the door on Thursday .. then we have a job fair Friday and Saturday and will leave Turkey for Jordan on the 24th.. we fly back here on March 1. Hopefully everything will go well.

I just wanted to check in and say hi and I am definetly going to try to be around more now that things are getting better with my health, with Fuat, with my job...praying it stays that way.

I'm still here!!! Sooo busy and have been ill lately. But I just had to drop in to let you all know I am still here.

Fuat is still here too.. but there are those days. He has almost left a few times, gotten tickets twice, went to the airport once.. but didn't leave. We want to make this work.. so hopefully we will.

We actually leave for Turkey and Jordan next week ( provided Jordan doesn't end up like Egypt and it's not safe to go)... going on work trips and will spend a few extra days in Turkey.

Things have been so rough lately I will not be surprised if he doesn't come back.. but so far he is still here.

I apologize for my long absence.. but please know I think about all of you almost every day and and soon as I can get back on a normal schedule I will be around more often.

and Krystle.. I want at LEAST a Cyber Shower. Can you also let me know your mailing address.

Hi. Sorry I haven't posted.. I knew you would all be worried, but I am glad to see Karen remembered the site my sister and I had and was able to read that Fuat was still here.

Long story, but he had a funny feeling about my friend on Sunday and insisted we go to her apartment to see if she was ok. She didn't answer the door and I insisted she was probably just taking her regular sunday afternoon nap.. Fuat insisted something was wrong and we finally called the police a few hours later.

The police found her lying half on her bed and half on the floor. Two annuerisms and a blood clot. I have been at the hospital with her most of the past few days.. several surgeries and she still isn't awake, so don't know how much brain damage has been done.

Fuat did not get on the plane monday. I thank GOD he had that feeling that somethignw as wrong and we had to go.

I don't have much time to write but I will fill you in later. For the moment he is still here.

Love you all and I am sorry to keep you all worried and not letting you know what's happening. I will write when I can

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't been around for a few weeks. It's been hectic..

We got home from the Turkey/Michigan trip and had to head right to Singapore.Then back to Michigan for Christmas. Cancelled the Vegas/New Years part of our trip ( I will tell you why in a minute). We have traveled too much, and was supposed to leave for Jamaica next week, but cancelled that too.

Christmas was nice.. it was Fuat's first christmas ever and he was like a 4 year old waiting for santa. It was soooo cute to see him run to the tree in the morning to see all the gifts. :) My whole family loved it.. and it felt like we had a true "santa" type christmas like when you have young kids in the house.

Kayla, what happened with the job search in Iowa

Karen, do you have the greencard yet? I didnt' see you post anything about it.

Maggie, congrats on the biometrics appointment

Krystle, I don't know what to say except that God is with you and you will have a beautiful baby.. regardless.

Frenzy.. how are things on your end?

OK.. now for my news... I was going to wait until after the first of the year, but just really needed to talk to all of you this morning so decided not to wait. I don't want to depress anyone on New Year's eve.. so forgive me for not waiting...

Fuat has decided to leave. He bought his ticket yesterday and goes home on January 10th.

We haven't had it easy.. and he has said a few times that he was going to go home. Just couldn't take the cultural differences any more.. but this time he actually bought a ticket.

A part of me wishes he had gotten one and left immediately, so I wouldn't have to sit and count down the days to when he is going to leave me... It gives me 10 more days of suffering while I watch him pack, etc.

I can only pray he changes his mind, or that he will come back.. but I know the truth. He won't. He is used to a culture where women don't work, or only work in part time jobs in retail stores, etc. He is not used to women in executive positions, who aren't home to cook dinner at a certain time and who get business calls when they are not at work.. can't always answer the phone when they are at work because they are in meetings, etc.

My job has been a huge problem for us... I have been looking for a new job, preferrably in Michigan near my family, but he doesn't understand why I have to look for director or VP jobs.. why can't I just get a job as a sales person somewhere an work part time.

Oh.. I dont' know.. let me see. Because we need to eat! Pay morgage, etc. Yes, let's have me leave a $100K a year job, with insurance, bonuses, 401K & Profit sharing to be a sales person somewhere part time.

OH.. forgive my ranting. I am just so heartbroken and have no one to turn to.

I haven't told most of my family yet. Just my mom.. and she's heartbroken too, but told me if he is going to be like that I have to let him go.

I can't be a village girl, from Turkey, who sits at home waiting for him. Spends the day cleaning and cooking and doesn't go out of the house without him. HE didn't even grow up in the village, he lives in Istanbul, but his parents are from the "Village" and that's how their life is.

We both thought he could adjust.. but I guess he can't.

OK.. now that I have dumped all that one you...

Hi Everyone,

Sorry to be away so long! The trip to Turkey was so nice, but we ended up having to leave 3 days early! My grandmother passed away and we had to change our plans and fly to Michigan, so we lost 3 days with his family.

Don't feel bad for my grandmother, she was 87.. had a great life and was ready to be with my grandfather! Of course we are all sad, but we are happy too. She was pretty lonely the past few years.

We just got back two days ago and now have to fly to Singapore tomorrow. I normally wouldn't complain, but we were away from home for two weeks when we were only planning on one.. and now gone for another week.. then home for a week.. then back to Michigan and Nevada for Christmas. We feel like we haven't been home at all.

The parks closed, so Fuat is not working now and he can't even really look for work because we are gone so much. He's bored when we are home and it drives him crazy.

Hope all is well with everyone.. I will write again when we get back from this Singapore recruiting trip.

So Karen, Seb and A and D filed in June and are still waiting.... Krystle and Kayla filed in July and they are done? Strange... but I guess we saw it with the K1 also.

One more day until we leave on our trip. Feeling really tired, but going to try to relax when we are in Turkey. The day after we get back my Mom comes for thanksgiving.. the day after my mom leaves we get on a plane to Singapore.

I decided to take the other recruiting trip and see how it goes. I've never been to Singapore before, so really wanted to try to make it. If I am tired or get sick.. serves me right :)

I will let everyone know how it goes and will hopefully be able to check in on all of you while I am in Istanbul!!

Oh Jenn that's just about the best news ever! I'm so happy to hear that I could cry!

And you'll be happy to know that Richmond is now back in the running. I withdrew from the job in Lexington because Mathew just wasn't finding enough jobs there. So he's looking for stuff in Richmond and Cleveland. So I guess we'll see!

His GC came in the mail today. Pretty snazzy looking. The date on the card says 10-6, but the notice that came with it was 10-10 so I guess we were updated later than what we should have been. It was probably already in the mail when we were notified that he was approved. But at least we got it!


HEY CONGRATS ON THE GC! Now, what is up with A & D and Karen? We know Frenzy won't have it yet ( looks like she's choosing to be last with everything :) ) Ladies? Any news yet.

Kayla that is great that Richmond is back in the running. Guess what.. I lived in Cleveland for 13 years. I moved here from there. Just what exactly does Matthew do? You never know, I may have some connections! Let me know!

Well, I am back in the game as far as my business trips are concerned. My doctor cleared me for travel, so.... My first trip is in 3 days.. goign to the Philippines ( and yes taking Fuat with me). 7 months ago he had never been out of Turkey, now he's taking business trips to Manila :):)

I am a little worried about it, because my energy level is sooooo low... but we'll see how my body handles the time change and 22 hours traveling time. At least Fuat will be there with me if I have a hard time and I can always have him do the interviews with the students if I am too exhausted.

If this trip doesn't do me in, then we are going to try to go to Turkey the week before Thanksgiving. Surprise his family. The day after we get back from Turkey, my mom will come for Thanksgiving and then 3 days after she leaves... it's off to Singapore. A week after we return from Singapore, it's time to head to Michigan for Christmas and then fly out to Vegas to spend New Years with my Dad.

Let's hope my body can handle the travling. Fuat is so excited about all these trips that I don't want to have to decide it's just too much for me right now.

Frenzy.. Congrats on the wedding !!!! We didn't really get a wedding night either, but made up for it later :) Yes, I believe you are the last of our group to get married!

Krystal.. COngrats on the GC and Kayla congrats on the notification that yours is coming. What about Karen? What about A &D? Any news on them yet?

I should have posted to you all more than a week ago, but for some reason I thougth I already had. Now I realize I didn't. The CT Scan showed everythign is clear. As far as my doctor is concerned I am cancer free!! Now I will just have follow up visits with him every two months for a year. He says the 5 year survival rate for someone with my outcome is 90% ... I'll take it!!!

I started to cry when we left the doctors office.. no one can really understand unless they've been through it, but essentially I was just given my life back.

Thank GOD it's all over and we can start our normal life now!! Now we just pray that little 10% doesn't creep back in somewhere ! I'm determined that it won't.

The hair is starting to grow back.. soon I should be able to at least look like I have a Jamie Curtis haircut instead of looking like I have cancer. :):) Hey.. at least I have hair now.

For Kayla.. I predict you will have EAD and AP by September 15th.. Green Card will be approved by October 3rd. You will have AP hard copy in hand a week after approval. Green card will arrive in the mail a week after approval.. EAD will arrive two days after Green card.

For Krystal... I predict you will have EAD and AP by September 30th... Green card will be approved on October 12th. For the others.. AP Hard copy will come in the mail 5 days after approval... EAD will arrive 14 days after approval. Green card will arrive 6 days after approval.



Well, it looks like I had things backwards. :) Congrats.. Kayla, A & D, Karen I am sure yours will come soon.

A & D why do you have to wait to get the license? That was the first thing Fuat got, even before the Social Security number. Must be something different about your state's requirements.

Krystle did I read you are pregnant??? CONGRATS! Kayla, congrats on the house, but I am sorry to hear it is in Lexington and not Richmond.

Things are going OK for me at the moment. I had my first follow up CT scan and will get the results on Thursday. Hopefully the doctor will tell me there is not sign of anything and I don't have to go back for more chemo cocktails. That's the plan anyway.

Did anyone else feel a little strange, or sad, at seeing the 2010 September Filers thread? I know it sounds weird, but I saw that thread and felt a little heartache.. they are just starting out, getting to know each other, starting to stress togther, mail out fingers and toes, etc... and we are almost at the end of our Journey.

Just a few more Green Cards to go... It will be one year, this week, for Kayla, Karen, Krystle and me... come on ladies. I want to see one of you get the GC on the anniversary of your NOA1.

I know money is a little tight for some people right now, but what would you think of us actually trying to get together after everyone has AOS done? It might be too hard for some people, like Frenzy, who are so far away.. but Krystle, Kayla, Karen and I aren't THAT far from each other. We could pick some place in the middle and meet..

Atlantic City? Washington DC ( Ok.. that's pretty close for me... but just throwing places out there).

What do you think??

I am great at finding cheap places to stay, and cheap ways to get there... so for those people who are tryign to rely on one income right now ( or family) we could do this cheaply and have a nice weekend!

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to pop in and say Hi while I was still well enough to do it. The LAST chemo session was this past Friday. It better be the last.. that was the plan and I told the doctor we had better stick to it.

I will go for a CT Scan on October 1 and if all still looks well, then it's just a few scans a year. If not, then it's back to the chemo cocktails.

I have a pretty busy fall planned, so we can't deviate from the chemo ending plan. NO NO NO NO NO

I can fell this time is gonig to be the worst I think. Trying not to feel that way, but only two days out and it's not looking good.

Krystle.. from what I have read it sounds like things aren't smooth sailing for you right now. Read what Karen, A & D and everyone else writes. It's not easy for any of us. Just today Fuat and I had another huge fight... it's hard enough to adjust to this new life without having to deal with the chemo, or not being able to apply for AOS like 4lovewelive and the coutnless other problems we all have.

At least once a week I am sure FUat is getting on a plane and sometimes.. I wonder if it woudln't be better.. but that's just the stress and chemo talking.

DON'T let this get the best of you... you love each other. You fought for this.. you just have to keep fighting for a while.

Going to go lay down now.. hopefully will be back on tomorrow or in a few days.

You are all still in my thoughts.

For Kayla.. I predict you will have EAD and AP by September 15th.. Green Card will be approved by October 3rd. You will have AP hard copy in hand a week after approval. Green card will arrive in the mail a week after approval.. EAD will arrive two days after Green card.

For Krystal... I predict you will have EAD and AP by September 30th... Green card will be approved on October 12th. For the others.. AP Hard copy will come in the mail 5 days after approval... EAD will arrive 14 days after approval. Green card will arrive 6 days after approval.

OK... I am going to love to see how this works out. As for the lottery numbers.. those are all mine. And if I win.. we can ALL retire :)



Well.... I was correct but I was WAY OFF. I said you would have EAD and AP by September 15th.. which is true, but wow you were a lot earlier than I thought you would be. I will stick with my other predications. You will have AP hard copy in hand in one week.. your are going to get Green Card approval by October 3rd.. and it's going to show up before the EAD does. So.. you should plan on getting GC aproval within the next 14 days ( HEY.. it's still before October 3 :)

Krystal, I am sticking with my original predictions for you. But to be honest, I think you are goign to be early as well.

NVC has notified me that our packet has been sent to Ankara. We're getting our documents ready, but I have some questions and this group is probably the best to ask.

I have found that some of the "senior" people in the main forums really jump down your throat, or make snide comments to you, if you ask a question that THEY think is stupid. Any time I have asked something, I hold my breath reading the responses, waiting to see if I am going to have some stinging comment thrown my way.. so, I guess my best bet is to ask my questions here.. and if I get laughed at, or get lovely remarks made, at least it's coming from people who have gone through this at my own consulate and know, for sure, what Ankara wants smile.gif

So.. here are my questions for the night.. stupid or otherwise..

#1. Once the packet reaches Ankara, how long does it generally take before we would get packet # 3?

#2. Fuat's passport is valid for another 6 months and we know it must have 6 months validity at the time he would go to the interview. We know we need to extend, and want to get at least a 3 year extention, but I am sure you all know how expensive that is in Turkey. We will obviously have it extended in time for the interview. If it is several more weeks before we sent in packet # 3 his passport would only be valid for 5 months. Does it have to have at least 6 months on it when we send in the copy of his passport with packet # 3 or can we send it in with only 5 months on it.. and then just make sure it is extended before we go to the actual interview?

I have had people say that it has to be extended before you get scheduled for the interview, but the are going through consulates that you can just walk in to interview, or call ahead.. not where the consulate is scheduling the interview for you.

#3. There is a number above Fuat's name on the NOA2. It starts out at A087 *** *** Is this his alien registration number? If so, should we be including this on the DS forms that ask for it? Some people have told me the Alien Registration number is only 8 digits, so would we write it without the A0 ?

Nope, go to the web site and down load the packet. We had ours done and ready way before we got the notice.

I do a lot of international travel, for my job, in the winter and am going to have to be prepared to do some juggling of trips and sending other people in my place if need be. The hard part is that most of my trips will be scheduled within the next month and I highly doubt we will have an interview date before I have to make my other travel plans..

I agree with Erika. Sometimes you put so much expectation on that "moment" and it can never live up to what you imagined. I think if you have the chance to fly back together, I would do that.

I remember when Yilmaz came through those doors, I had envisioned this romantic scene right out of the movies, and of course it was nothing like that!!


I am sure it would not be what either one of us has in our heads smile.gif If the logistics work out for us, then I will try have us travel together. I think I would more stressed out thinking about him missing a connecting flight than I will be about the interview.

Thanks for the info! I want to have everything ready to go when he gets the letter. I have so much relationship "stuff" to show that I think it would cost a fortune to send it all smile.gif I was thinking about sending a few samples of each kind ( email, phone bills, chat logs), from each month, from the time we filed to the time we send the packet.. and then taking the rest with us to the interview ( Along with everything they should already have from the packet I sent to USCIS). I think I am going to need a small suitcase to take it all smile.gif Unfortunately, I won't have any new pictures to send with the packet.. since we were approved so quickly, but I should have more to take with us by the time we get the interview. I'm supposed to be going on a trip there soon, but may have to send another manager in my place because of another project that came up.

I have a business trip to Turkey, at the end of February, so ideally one of two things would happen:

1. Our interview would be at the same time I am already in Ankara.. and he could follow me home shortly afterward.

2. Our interview would be before this, and he could come back with me.

We are really torn on how we want to do this.. because for two years we have talked and dreamed about the day he could come to visit and how much we want that "moment" when he walks through those doors at the airport. If he flies back with me, he doesn't have to figure out all this stuff alone.. and the only time he's ever been in the airport is to pick me up or take me back smile.gif.. never gone past the ticket counter.

But if he flies back with me.. we aren't going to have that moment we've dreamed of because I will be walking through those doors with him instead of standing on the other side of them when he walks through. Kind of a silly thing not to want to give up, but we've struggled for some long to get him here.. that moment has become almost more important than getting married smile.gif

As far as my other trips, I think I would be safe in planning not to go on any of the trips after February. I can't imagine getting through all of this before that.

Even if it takes longer than that, I don't want to take the risk of having him here by then.. and then having to say, "welcome home, here's your house key, I'm off to China.. see you next week" smile.gif

WE JUST GOT OUR NOA2. It only took 25 days!!!

I didn't think I would be THIS excited, but maybe I am more shocked than I thought because it came so late at night. I just checked our status 45 minutes ago and it showed no change. Then my phone beeped, about 20 minutes after I checked the status and I had a text from USCIS that we were approved. I couldn't believe it when I went back and checked our case and saw that it actually had been approved.

The text came at 9:19pm.. Is VSC really working that late to get caught up or maybe the updates and texts are just delayed? I don't know.. I don't care smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif

I told Fuat I would let him know the minute it happened.. but it's 4:30am there and I have to wake him for work in 2 hours.. my heart tells me to call him.. my brain tells me to let him sleep and tell him in two hours.

I just can't believe it.

And I am going to apologize now.. because I know I am going to start driving everyone crazy about the forms and getting ready for Ankara smile.gifsmile.gif

When I told him he would have to have certified translations, and he could not do the translation himself, he said he does not know where he would go to have this done. He'll have his birth certificate, police record and military record ( showing his vaccinations).. but they will all be in Turkish and he has been told, by at least one of the offices, they cannot give him an English translation.

Any suggestions where he can go for "certified" translation? He is living in Istanbul.


you can tell him to go to a certified translation office ( yeminli tercüme bürosu is what it is in Turkish smile.gif ) there are plenty of them in istanbul smile.gif I don't know where he lives but I went to the one in Besiktas called 'Global Tercüme'. they are pretty good.

Thanks for the link! I had read about him, in the Hurriyet news, a while back and was interested in seeing more of his photos.

I just found out I will be going on a business trip to Istanbul, next month (YEAH), and wasn't planning on being able to go back until we actually had an interview. So this was a nice surprise. While I am there, we want to work on getting stuff together and ready, for when Fuat get's packet # 3. I've looked over a lot of the information on the Ankara Consulate web site and have a question about the birth certificate.

It say's "One original and certified copy"..

How should I be reading this? Do they want the original and then a certified copy? Or is it just the one copy.. Original and certified..

We already have the original. I'm just wondering we also need to get a certified copy of it. Maybe all my research and reading is making me read more into things than I need to!
