Jenn, you too? I'm shocked! Is that what you guys think of me: Krystle is Ms. 'Do It" Alot  Not nice guys!
But seriously speaking I honestly don't intend to use BC, if it happens it happens coz I believe God makes no mistakes...

LMAO @ the ice-packs!
Yes please refill your BC because then you too will have the title of Ms. Do It Alot! Eventhough it only takes one time :star:

HEYYYY.. I never said that Krystle :):).. and to be honest, I wasn't even thinking that.. I just have a strange feeling that you are going to be the first one to be posting baby news

Don't be in a big hurry though..as you said if it's meant to happen it will.. but try to have at least a week or two together before you start having a family :)

 Well Ms. Two Months, I won't promise yah, but if it happens it happens! Oh darn I won't even be using BC, I'll be saving $25/month

And that's exactly why I don't dring, one sip and I'm giggling like a darn fool and falling asleep the next minute!

HA! I was thinking the same thing.. I give it two months. Actually, I am willing to bet you will be giving us baby news before Fuat even get's here :):).. OK.. I don't want to wish that on you, so I will stop. You do need a LITTLE time together before "JR" comes along.

OH I think I MUST try this rum creme..

BOOO!! Maggie, did that take care of the hiccups?

Probably not.. I think it only works on people :)

Get them to show you a copy of the new lease, but also check to see if there is a relocation clause. I don't know if it will work for marriage, but I got out of a lease once because I was being relocated to a job that was more than 60 miles away from my apartment. There has to be a way around this.

You lucky people and tax time.. I usually get about $150 back from federal and that just about covers what I owe for state taxes. It's my own fault of course.. that's what I get for claiming 2 dependents on my tax forms ( My cat.. and my plants).. get more money now, but can't claim them when I actually file of course, so end up not getting much of a refund.. No problem. I would rather have more money now, in each check, than a big check later ( though that IS fun).

Fuat's sister has just announced that she's pregnant :):) YEAH! I'm so excited.. I just want to run out and buy tons of stuff for cute, little Turkish babies :) He's excited too, though I know him well enough to know that he wanted to be first ( he's older).. either way.. I get to go shopping for cute baby stuff!

Goodmorning everyone :star:
Snowy day today in Jersey
I wish everyone a happy wednesday!
AandD: don't stress about your case getting to the consulate, keep on celebrating NOA2 and just know that it won't take months to get there.
Jenn: your time is coming closer and I'm as anxious for you as much as I am for myself, I'm happy to say that I'm now confident that we ARE going to get it because after I went over everything, there's no reason to deny us and my consulate isn't that bad, except for 1 male CO

:joy: 5 Days Til I See My Boo, 8 Days Til Interview :joy:

Good morning everyone. Snowy, rainy day here too.. Krystle I am so happy this is going to be over for you soon. Please everyone keep posting good news! I am trying so hard not to get depressed and this group helps a lot :)

Things have not been going well the past few days, but I am hoping we don't let the stress get the best of us... and.. I just heard from the couple that recently had their interview. The man had lived in this country 22 years.. had a green card ( expired now of course or they wouldn't be applying).. Moved back to Turkey before his Green Card even expired.. had every piece of documentation you could hope for... And they were put in AP.

It seems to be happening only with the males and pretty much with all the males. I really am trying to stay positive, trying to have patience and faith.. but I have to prepare myself for what is probably going to happen... and what will most likely happen if we have another 4-6 month delay.

Going to get ready for work now and I hope I can keep myself busy .. and warm :):)

After 3 visits to the embassy, and a bit of a bumpy road, I can officially say APPROVED! ***Said like the Target cashier on Saturday Night Live****

We had a 2nd appointment yesterday, and I got to be there for the interview. Fernando went back this morning to wrap up a loose end and officially gets his visa in hand on Thursday! I feel like someone just took a ton of bricks off my chest. Now, just to introduce him to the parents and get married 3 days later. . . .

GREAT NEWS!! Congratulations!!!!!

Ughhhh...I am still in the clouds, but starting to prepare the things for my interview. Our embassy in Croatia, in my home city Zagreb, is well known like a very professional and I hope that I will not have a problems.
Plus I applied only once for turist visa (December 16 last year) and they approved me without problem.
I called today to check for the police certificates and a lady was so nice and gave me the whole information about all the papers I need and wish me a luck. She checked if I am already in the system, but I was not, so our papers are still on a way to the NVC.

It is nice to see Luis back here... :star: I am sure Luis you are sooooo happyyy... :star:

And Krystal...only 8 days and you are with Glenoi...wau...great!

Jenn...I do not have doubts that everything will be perfect with Fuat on interview...you are a strong lady and you will do all to help him. :star:

It's great being in the clouds isn't it?? :) But.. time to get to work and get those papers ready :)

I hope you are right about the interview. I am not really worried about actually getting the visa. I know we will not be denied.. am worried about being put in AP and having to wait another 4-6 months and... family pressure at home is going to get worse the closer we get to the interview or to his actually leaving. Just want it over, done with and have him here :)

Don't get me wrong about the "family pressure" thing... his family loves me.. but this is a traditional country, where arranged marriages still happen and the the oldest son still moves his wife in with the family.. and she helps his mom with the housework while he supports the family. It doesn't happen everywhere anymore.. but he comes from a very traditional family. We have some obstacles to overcome besides the visa.. He's not just the oldest child.. he's the only son. Stress is high, but I am trying to keep positive.. and reading everyone's good news helps with that :)

But.. having to delay things by being put in AP will be really rough.. so I just keep praying that doesn't happen ( but Ankara seems to be handing it out like candy lately). I just checked and the last couple to go through Ankara still has not posted their results.

Going to try not to stress too much over the next few weeks.. will just focus on Krystle and her good news to come :)

Most consulates will go ahead and extend your NOA2 date as long as the reason for the expiry was not that you didn't send papers in on time, but was only because of scheduling. Since you've gotten your interview date I'd say that you're in the clear, but you may want to check with the Consulate where you are interviewing and maybe post the question in the Nigeria forums. I'm sure that someone who has interviewed at your consulate would know the correct answer, as I'm only speculating. I know that Canada automatically extends dates, but am not sure which other countries do, or if all do.

I'm gonna go ahead and assume that you should be just fine.

Our interview is also after our NOA2 expires. I called DOS and they said it was no problem, the Consulate will automatically extend it. I emailed the Embassy in Ankara, and sent them a letter requesting an extension, just to be safe, but have gotten no response from them.

I have read two posts on here of people who were denied, because the petition had expired.. but I am sure there are some other circumstances with that. There are far too many people who end up with interviews past the 4 months expiration for it to be a problem.

But.. not taking any chances and going to email them again. If I don't get a response I will probably call.. It can't hurt to make sure nothing stands in the way :)

Krystle.. glad to know you didn't fall off the face of the Earth or that we had not stopped spinning on our axis :)

Karen.. I take my mom on at least one recruiting trip a year. Last year I took her to China.. this year we had already planned to have it be my recruiting trip to Turkey and it just happened that our interview fell not only on the day we met, but during the time I would be there for the recruiting trip. But yes.. her main reason to go is to meet Fuat.

Luis.. Welcome back and congratulations!

Oh.. and that couple from the Turkish thread still has not posted the results of their interview. It was 3 days ago.. so hoping that does not mean bad news for them. She didn't go over for the interview, or else I would think they are just too happy celebrating together to be able to worry about getting on here.. but.. I know that's not the case.

I really hope things went well for them.. and if things went well, then I can stress a little less about our interview and being told we are being put in AP

24 days.. and I leave in 19 days! :)

My mom gets on the plane to Istanbul in 24 days ! She'll come to Istanbul the day after our interview and meet Faut for the first time :):)

Everyone have a great day!

No.. left work early and jumped on a plane to Michigan. Was with my mom last night, out at a great restaurant where two guys were trying to pick us up :) It was pretty funny.. and my mother made sure to get a chance to mention I have a sweetheart who will be coming here soon :) THANKS MOM :)

I didn't get the Happy Meal to celebrate for A & D.. opted for a nice salad and some mahi mahi :)

Now I am sitting at my mothers, getting ready to go out and celebrate my brother's birthday.. and.. wondering if I will make it home tomorrow night. Richmond is buried under snow and no flights going in and out right now. Hopefully by tomorrow night it will be fine. Kayla.. enjoy the snow :)

Krystle.. I am getting excited for you :)

Jenn whereare you? I wanna know about that coouple who had their interview today....

I've been busy at work.. and they haven't posted their interview result yet. Not a good sign I suppose, but maybe she is busy at work today too and hasn't had a chance to get online.

And Krystle, I am not being negative :).. but, with two visa denials already in our history it makes it a little difficult not to be prepared for the worst :) While being put in AP wouldn't be the same as an outright denial.. it would not be a good thing for us, and since his name is so common.. I am trying to be prepared for the very real possibility.

I meant to stay the fiance lived in the US for 22 years.. not the petitioner. OF COURSE the petitioner lived here :) I will definitely post when I know what happened with them.

Kenyth and I both play WoW and Aion!!!...Mostly just Aion now though Lol...what server?!

I played video games with this guy for years, he went off to boot camp - he was in the marines for awhile and came to visit me in Canada last year. He had this marine friend transfer WoW servers to ours, introduced me to him... it was Kenyth and that is how we first met. On Laughing Skull from a mutual friend. lol

Oh ..we're dorks =( lol

Well, the more I hear about these games the more I start thinking I am the dork because I have never played them :) Haven't ever even touched a Wii, Gamebox, Playstation.. my sister was really into a lot of these online games.... one of these days I will have to give it a try.

Anxiously watching the Turkish forum today. One of them had their interview today and waiting to hear the outcome. It seems Ankara has been handing out AP to majority of the males. Not the females though. Waiting to hear what happened and if they ended up getting AP. The petitioner lived in the US for 22 years, and has been with the USC for a while.. if they get put in AP I am going to really stress. If we get put in AP I don't know what I'll do :) That would add another 4-6 months wait.. and time is not exactly on our side with a lot of things.

I really hope they have good news!

We're heading into another weekend with a snow storm. Strange for Virginia.. but I am leaving for Michigan tomorrow, so I guess I will miss it. Of course, I am going somewhere even colder with MORE snow.. so maybe I would be better off if I just stayed here :)

I only qualified for it since my motheris unemployed buy when october hits and I turn 24, forget about it coz I'll be on my own..

Well.. things may have changed since I had financial aid, but it used to be that once you turned 24 you were considered "independent" even if you lived with your parents.. and THEN.. they gave you even more money.

My advice to anyone who will listen. DON'T TAKE IT. Take only what you absolutely need.. don't buy $500 razor phones.. or ( in my case) go on an insane shopping spree for clothes because guess what.. You have to pay that back some day. Oh, and if you go through an exit interview at your university where they tell you that financial aid payments will be between $50-$100 a month don't believe it.. and then when your first bill comes in at $350 ( and you are unemployed because hey, you just graduated).. send the bill to the exit interview person who told you to expect $50 - $100..

and then.. if you do take all the money they give you ( sometimes $2k to $3k a semester more than you actually need).. what you should NOT do if you can't afford to pay the bill is take a deferment. That interest really adds up and by the time you actually get a good job that will allow you to actually be able to make those loan payments... and still buy food and put a roof over your head...well, by that time you owe twice what you actually borrowed and will be lucky to have it paid off 20 years after you are out of school...

Oh.. but I digress..

Just wanted to say hello to everyone and check to see if there was any news from A & D :)

Not sure if you're referring to me but my question was if & when he passes the interview if we could marry while I'm there before he comes to the states but the answer was no.
Me & Glenoi are most likely going to marry within the 1st month. It's going to be very small & intimate because the people who I'd love to invite would only come to pass judgement & criticize. So I'm only inviting people who I know for a fact is going to be happy to see me get married.

Ooh on the Mr.Mc... I love burgers but to me McDonald's is sweet so nothing like a good 'ol homemade burger fresh off the grill.

I almost forgot, honey is on his way to do his medical.

Yesterday we were blessed w' a wonderful day & I hope today and the next upcoming months will be filled w' as much joy & success as yesterday. Everyone Have a great day!
16 Days Til Our Interview!

No, it was Maggie who was asking how long it would take before someone could leave the country..

As for burgers, I don't really like them.. which makes it very strange that I would go to McDonalds sometimes. Only once have I ever craved a burger and that was after my trip to Hong Kong at Thanksgiving. I got off the plane, looked at my friend who was picking me up, and said "please get me to a McDonalds asap" :)

Maybe it was the chicken's foot for Thanksgiving dinner that did it :)

I hope today is as great a day as yesterday was.. one thing would clinch that. A post from A & D with an NOA2

Great I can have guide that knows Jamaica :) We might take you up on that offer. If we do we gotta go to the falls I love water and that placed looked great in the pictures.

I love Poland.. one of my favorite places, but so cold this year! Krakow was my absolute favorite city until I went to Istanbul ( Sorry Seb..but I loved Krakow so much I took my mother there)

I had a chance to go to Jamaica on a business trip, would have been leaving this Friday, but my brother's birthday is this weekend.. so going to Michigan instead. Well.. he will only turn 50 once and I can go to Jamaica another time. Tried to take him with me, but silly guy wanted to spend his birthday with his wife and kids. Imagine..

Someone asked about AOS a few posts back. Once you file for AOS, you could have your travel authorization within 2-3 months. It generally comes before the AOS is complete. So, if you didn't want to take a honeymoon right after the wedding it is still possible to do it within 2-3 months after you start AOS.

A&D we are all rooting for you. I know we all hope that you get approved and have your interview quickly.

My gosh, I've just read so much good news.. I don't know where to begin and don't want to miss anyone. If I leave someone out please forgive me.

I am SOOOO Happy Kayla and Maggie have their interview dates... Maggie, maybe you will get your April 25th wedding after all :) and Kayla.. fate has a way of working things out. Now you can be there for both the graduation and the interview.

I am so happy for both of you right now I think I could cry.

Krystle, you are right.. with the way things have worked out with most of our interveiws, and the dates everyone is planning on having their honey come in, it looks like we will all be doing AOS around the same time ( Unless someone is waiting close to the 90 days to do the "official" marriage part)..

It's raining here today too.. just started with the thunder and lighting. First storm of the year. I love storms.. so going to actually leave work now, so I can see some of it.. and to celebrate for all of you with good news today I am going to NOT cook dinner and take the lazy way out. Going to... McDonalds.. and I almost never do that!!

A & D.. when you get your NOA2 I think I am going to be so happy I am going to have to order a Big Mac AND a Happy Meal :)

( I can hear my arteries clogging at the thought of it)

COME ONE VSC.. One more left.. you can do it. I have faith... give us the great news this week. PLEASE

paciencia y fe, my interview is on March 29 and as far as the financial support is conecerned I will have by then my w-2 and financial transcripts for 2009, paystubs for the last 3 months, a letter from my job stating the natur of my work and how much I make a year ($32,000), a letter from my bank stating how much I have deposited within the last year, and a letter from a live insurance policy that I have from my job in the amount of $64,000.00. Do you think that will suffice, or should I also take with me the taxes from 2007 and 2008 also, plus bak statements for the last three months? Thanks in advanced for you answer!

When I sent in ours, I sent in the Tax Transcripts for 2007 and 2008 as well. You can get tax transcripts free, by calling the IRS 800 number. I had mine within 3 days. I can't find the number, but I know someone on the main threads would have it.

I think the form only said you needed one year if you met the guidelines, but I sent three just in case.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSeptember 2009 K-1 Visa Filers

hey jenn, i'm not sure what your particular "strikes" are, but i was worried about a few things for our interview as well - we're both divorced, my fiance has kids, and my divorce was not final until way after we met and even after he proposed. (not sure if anyone else has gone through divorce but it takes a long time).

anyway, yes they did ask me questions and it was a very good thing that i was there. i'll post in more detail a review this weekend, but i'll try to put the basics. My honey got called up to the interview window three times. the first time, we went up there and they guy at the window wouldn't let me stay with jose, he made me go sit down. i was worried at this point because i had put together all the paperwork - but luckily we had gone over everything the night before and jose luis knew where to find everything. the consul asked him just a few questions - what's my name, when did we meet, they asked if he'd been to the US (no), if he's applied for visitor visa before (yes), and if he had family in the states (he said yes, but distant cousins and he doesn't know where they live). the last question was important because it was info from his visitor visa interview and of course that had to match. the guy took jose's birth cert, marriage/divorce cert, police record, passport photos, payment receipt, medical envelope, ds-156 & ds-156k, and the affidavit of support stuff. i'll detail that out separately. then he gave back a few items from my original packet (don't know why) and then he asked if we had more photos. jose luis gave him the 3 books. the guy asked where they'd been made and jose luis told him i made them in the states.

okay sorry this is longer than i expected...the second time jose got called up, it was with the same guy and again i was not allowed to join. it was basically some followup questions centered around his kids. if he had kids (yes), how old are they (9, 13), are they coming (no), why not (they live with their mom) and then jose mentioned he hopes they could maybe come visit him someday in the US.

then the third time it was an interview with someone else and we both went up there. (btw both the previous interactions were in spanish). as soon as we got up there the woman asked jose luis in english what year we met. i think jose was nervous and not expecting to have to speak english so he didn't respond. the woman quickly asked again, annoyed, and then turned to me and said a bit angrily "ma'am, what year did you meet?" so then i jumped in and started answering stuff. she asked me what year we met, then what month. then she asked me if i speak spanish (i'm guessing she assumed jose luis couldn't speak english since he sort of froze up when she spoke it to him. i was definitely worried about this.). i said yes, some. she asked if we communicate in spanish, and i said that when we talk, it is usually in english but when we write each other it is in both spanish and english.

then she asked me what was the reason for my divorce. she asked jose luis the reason for his divorce (now she was asking him questions in spanish). he was not specific and she pushed him for more. then she asked him what countries we have traveled to together. then she asked me how many times i have been to ecuador. she asked me what our plans were for the wedding. she seemed interested when i mentioned wanting to get married on the beach so i babbled for a second more about that. then she asked jose luis first and then me if we had kids. (though she had already asked me that after the divorce question). she asked jose luis for a second time if he had family in the states. then she asked me what i do for a living. jose luis says she totally changed when I talked about my job (in a good way) but i didn't actually notice. after a moment or two she started shoving the enormous volumes of paper i had included in the original submission through the window slot, and then finally she said "your visa is approved" and gave us the wonderful purple paper. i was so happy i kissed jose luis and i think i might have finally seen her crack a smile.

i can detail out everything evidence wise we brought, if that helps. let me know.

as far as the financial support evidence, this is what they took (i had brought more than this):
- I-134 form
- all the paystubs i had provided (i get paid weekly, so i included all weeks of dec, plus the first week of sep, oct & nov)
- my w2 and tax transcript for 2008

please let me know if you have any other questions for me, i am happy to help!

i am so excited for you! everything will go great.

We had to send all the forms, I-134, police records and everything else before they would even schedule an interview for us. I plan on taking copies and figured I would probably take all my pay stubs since the time of sending packet #3. I sent 6 months worth with packet three, but assume I may need to prove to them I still have a job :)

I am worried about questions regarding the visitor visas we applied for, because Fuat just does not remember dates.. and the second time we applied a State Senator from Virginia wrote the invitation letter.. if they ask Fuat what his name is he is NOT going to remember :)

If they ask him what day we met, and he gets it wrong.. I am going to have to smack right then and there :) That is one of the great things about the date of our interview.. he couldn't possibly get the date wrong since it is the anniversary of the day we met :)

If they ask him what I do, he will NOT remember my job title but can tell them where I work..If they ask him what my actual job is.. I think he would probably say "She's the boss".. the concept of "HR DIrector".. he doesn't quite get that yet.

He can tell them where my family lives in the States and the name of my sister, but he probably would not remember my brother's name or my mom and dad's names. He will be meeting my mother, for the first time, two days after our interview ( She's coming to Turkey after the interview :)

He is so bad with dates that I always have to remind him when someone in his family is having a birthday :)

All these kinds of questions make me a bit nervous. If they ask me about his family, I can give names.. birthdates.. cities born.. I have a good memory for things like that, but I'm not the one they are probably going to ask these questions :)

I really hope they will interview him in English, so I can know everything they are asking.. but both times he went for the B2 visa interview they insisted in doing the interview in Turkish.. very bad Turkish according to him :)

As I am sitting here, I realize that one month from RIGHT NOW.. we will already have our answer and be on a bus back to Istanbul.

Eh, took too long to upload.
Jenn I'm glad you're happy that I can make it to the interview :star:
You have a mass amount of proof. Bring it all just in case. I was trying to print my call logs for the past 13 months but some bull ####### w' the computer and printer at my school so I called sprint to have copies of my bill mailed to me, I was told $5 per bill, that's $65 added to my bill just for stupid papers to show these people that me and my honey talk nonstop
I have no choice but to go ahead and order them though

Couldn't you go to a library and print them for free.. or a much cheaper price?

That's seems pretty steep for some phone bills, but you really should have them.

I've worked some ridiculous hours this week.. actually at home now and want to go to sleep, but have to make a wake up call in one hour :) Hmm.. think I'll go lay in bed and watch The Hangover on pay-per-view :)

Have a good night everyone... and a great weekend!!!!!

Hi all! Sorry I haven't been around much the last 2 days...the work trip has been ridiculously busy. but now this morning i finally have some downtime before my flight home.

Kayla - CONGRATULATIONS!!! You must be on cloud nine. :) do you know yet when he will come?

Gaynto - Congrats on the wedding! you look beautiful and very happy. :)

Jenn - nice you see you pop in! how are things going?

Krystle - you asked me if i was ready...mentally HELL YES! but in practical matters totally not. i come home from seattle tonight, have to work tomorrow and then this weekend is going to be all about preparing. have to continue to clean and i haven't figured out yet where he's putting his stuff! i know next week i will be so busy at work that i will not have time to do anything. so this weekend is my last chance. after that i just have to say, eff it. ;) but i also need to figure out how many days i might be able to take off to help him adjust. did you take any days? i'm thinking we will have the weekend and then maybe i can swing a day or two off, or partial days or something...not sure.

Maggie - can't wait for your turn! it's coming so soon! :) so when do you travel?

Seb - your lady is coming saturday right?? are you totally psyched? are YOU ready?? :)

So much to reply to... there are going to be at least 20 posts from me before I get off this page.

Seb... you have just a few more days...!! Karen.. he's coming next week and I know your next few days are going to be crazy ( but it will be tons o' fun when he's here.

Finally almost done cleaning. Just have the bathroom left and that's it. Going to clean that tomorrow so I don't over work myself. So how's everyone doing? Jenn must be busy cause I haven't seen her all week. I keep cleaning and then the dog keeps moving and so I repeat and the crazy cycle goes on. Gotta say the house hasn't looked this clean in a very long time.

I'M HERE! It has been so crazy for us this last week... and the park opens in a few days, so I have been crazy with work as well as with getting Fuat acclimated to Virginia and to the US.

WOW I have a lot to catch up on.

I really miss being on here every day and can't wait until I can get back into my normal day of checking in on everyone on VJ

Kayla: I'm glad you can now say you had nothing to worry about. I believed with everything in me that you'd pass.

Maggie relax it'll be a breeze!

Frenzy: everything will soon be all right! Goodluck!

I wonder where's Jenn?!?

I'm here.. I'm here.. We came home Tuesday night and haven't been on my computer since. Been pretty busy. I go back to work tomorrow, so will have more time to be on my computer. Just HAD to check in while I had a chance. Fuat is still sleeping, but we have another busy day ahead of us.

Now.. off to find some ice packs :) :) :)
