Great news, guevon!!!

Heina: Best of luck to you. I've seen your name around here on VJ often and know that you've had a rough time. Hope everything works out for you!

Simple solution, Ronin...they sell folders that are similar but with NO metal parts on them. Cheaply, too.

I just separated and put tabs on everything so my husband would be able to find everything. We went through the package several times.

But a fin de cuentas, he got so nervous at the interview and was making such a mess of the paperwork, that she had to take the whole thing from him and take out what she needed.

Well, since you kind men have gone there, I'll go there too.

If your wife happens to take oral birth control, she can skip the fourth week of pills and start immediately on her new pack and she won't get her period. I know that I'd feel uncomfortable in that situation, although I'm sure that they deal with this all the time.

KitKat...saw that some approvals from the end of 2006 are coming through! Here's hoping that you're next!!!!!!

They didn't even bring it up with Edgar at the medical. He was a bit panicked that he was the only one without the white sheet on his Xrays, but I now know it was because he was one of the few applying for a nonimmigrant visa.

No worries...and good luck!

El guevon...you also need to print out and complete the DS156K, which is specific to K1 visas. This is in addition to the DS156 which you already have listed.

It's astounding that they managed to pick up the pace of the approvals yet now take so long for the pick up. At least that wait will have a finite end!

Congratulations Monica and Edgar!

I'm glad to hear that Juarez is taking care of the problem, vismaster. Must be a relief.

My father has kidnapped Edgar and taken him to his house. I have no idea when he's going to return him. He's stopped calling me and only calls Edgar now.

Juarez doesn't require the I134, but a lot of people use it just for ease of organizing the evidence.

I also used a co-sponsor (my income for 2006 was sufficient, but not prior to that) and my mom completed the I134. I didn't because I totally spaced it and was overwhelmed with paperwork. But the agent didn't even look at my co-sponsor's info, but only took my last two years of tax returns.

So basically, fill out the form if you feel it'll be easier for you to keep track of everything but it;s not necessary.

I'd email them first. Perhaps they can tell you how without your paying for the call. They might not even have received the packet yet, but at least you can get a heads up on what you'll need to do.

Nope...don't need the DS320 for Juarez. There are a couple of things that other consulates require that Juarez doesn't, and I think that's one of them.

I could be wrong about needing the NOA2, but I brought it along anyway.

I'd definitely look into that name thing. Is it that way on your NOAs as well? I don't know where or how you'd have that changed, so hopefully someone else would chime in.

Hey vismaster!

No G325A required. Don't forget the NOA2 and copy! There's also a supplemental form in addition to the DS 156 and DS 156K for men, which you can find on the Juarez Embassy website. It's the DS157 if I remember correctly. I could be wrong, but I think you also need to provide another letter of intent to marry from you. Same thing as before, just with a new date. Otherwise, it looks good to me.

I'm really not sure what exactly they ended up taking because he was shaking so much she had to take the folder from him and look through for what she needed. And, he also answered a couple of questions wrong at the interview! :) She asked how long we'd lived together and he said three (it was five) and where I worked and he totally blanked (I've been an ESL teacher for 7 years, and he also took my class in Mexico).

We just got back from the SS office...went smoothly, although we did have the same problem that many have, the people there don't know that K1s are eligible for SS# and don't need to provide an EAD. They were very nice about it, and didn't get pissy like I heard many have. Luckily, I had printed out the public notice record I found on VJ and showed it to them when they asked for his EAD. Turned out that earlier that day, they had turned away another K1er because they didn't have the EAD (the memo states that the I94 can be used in place of it) although the other person also had an expired K1, which I think made all the difference. But I think they woiuld have been turned away regadlress because of lack of info. The woman said, "well, I doubt Immigration will verify that he can get a SS#." To the contrary, he was already in the system and the dude had no problem verifying that he was eligible!

Only snag was my forgetting the marriage license so I have to go back to change my name. Typical of me, especially since I ran back into the house to grab my passport which I didn't need.

Thanks, Allie and Lucy for giving info about what it's like AFTER they start working!

Edgar was soooo happy after his ESL class last night. He SCREAMED in the supermarket in English, "I'm very happy I had my first English class!"

Too funny, Allie. It's definitely a hard balance between only having one income and wanting to show them around and also GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!

Lucy: his GC came pretty quick! I think we'll have a longer wait since we're filing through Vermont, but asi es.

Where are your husbands working? How's their English?

Luckily there are English classes for the summer at the community center I work out of, so he's in there right now and I'm "working."

I'd definitely change your mailing address to your mom's address. The only thing that they'll send to Mexico is the fiance letter that goes to the non-USC. Everything else must be mailed within the US. As kitkat says, most fiances never receive anything at all, but my fiance seems to be one of the few who did. And it wasn't the complete packet, just the invitation letter.

Congratulations, Monica and Edgar! I take it you're getting married in NY?

We got married in Santa Fe last week. Unfortunately his ring (that we picked out in Santa Fe) is a piece of #######! Oh well, we'll get another sometime.

We didn't have any problems at POE...a lovely woman named Paez took care of our paperwork. She did question us a bit, but it seemed to be in the form of a conversation...I told her that we were headed to Rhode Island and she asked Edgar if he'd ever been there. Obviously trying to get info, but it was no problem. I told her that we were going to tour around AZ and NM, and she recommended White Sands and printed out a map for us. Edgar's sense of geography sucks, and she spent a couple minutes with us looking at a map of the US on the wall and chatting.

The guy we paid the $6 to was a bit brusque, but no real issues.

We also got stopped at two checkpoints, one on I10 after Las Cruces and another just north of Nogales. The guy at the first one was a d%ck and seemed to be about 13 years old. He was also a ####### to me, not just Edgar. The other one was polite and respectful and sent us of with a smile and a "Have a nice day" after checking his visa.

Do the transcripts have to be mailed. My husband has his interview on Monday , Sunday night our time?

A bit short notice fo them, you wont have them in time, stick with the 1040 + Schedules, and other evidence supporting income.

If you have access to a fax machine, the nice folks at the IRS will fax them to you immediately.

Hello shaman goddess,

I think some more clarity and information is needed before anyone can asnswer your question. You state you are returning to the US, so are you an United States Citizen? If you are filing an I-130 for yourself, how are you doing this from inside the US?

It is a little late to file a K3 after your I-130 is approved. If you are planning to take the K3 route it is best to send the I-129F petition in with your I-130 or as soon as you recieve the NOA1 from the I-130.

It is still possible to file for K3 if your I-130 is approved right? Several of us are in the same position that going forward with the K3 brings about a much shorter wait than if we opt for IR1/CR1. Wish I knew that they were going to approve my I-130 so fast but I can't complain its still progress.

Hey all, I just got a letter..rather..a packet in the mail from the Dept of State NVC (Portsmouth, NH). The packet indicates an AOS (Affidavit of Support) Fee Bill. It says that I must send a money order or cashier's check (no personal checks allowed) in the amount of $70.00 back to NVC (St. Louis, MO) before they can further process my case. They emphasize that I do not send my I-864 Affidavit of Support forms with the payment as it will cause delays in processing. They gave me a new case number too that begins with MNL (I'm presuming Manila) I bring this up for two points: 1. Is this a product of the USCIS trying to speed things up a little? 2. Has anyone else received this notice or am I the only one? just curious smile.gif

Our I-130 and I-129F applications were approved 4 Sep 2007. I received the e-mails late last night.

To note, I did send letters to every office of my Representative and two Senators, about 13 letters in total. My Representative's response indicated they didn't do much more than I could have from their feedback; however, one of the Senator's very well could have made a difference, after some specific prayers for approval.

Good luck in your continued journey. At first I was in minor shock and disbelief, along with a lot of joy. Now I'm focused already on what is next.

God bless,

Woohoo! kicking.gif I just the email from CRIS saying that they sent the notice today. G&A please update smile.gif

Davejaz42107,

Congrats. VSC does it again. Any word on your I-129F?

Also, are you a "standard" applicant, or do you qualify for any expedited process such as military deployment?

Others reading this thread,

If you have received or do receive approval and you are on some type of expedited track, please note this in either your timeline comments and or your signature or post on this thread. This will help with the majority going through a "standard" process. I have seen on some threads people get upset and overreact because someone is way faster then they are. There can be reasons for this. A simple comment of "Expedited process for military deployment" or other similar note would be great.

Thanks,
Robin

Thanks Robin,

I am a standard applicant. I have never been able to view my I-129F since it was sent out. I did get a notice a little while ago telling me that it had been transferred to VSC as well to expedite the process. I'm not military though, just a lonely husband seeking to get his wife here as soon as humanly possible smile.gif
