Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCan I Staple the Docs together??
Big Binder Clip works too, anything that is easy to remove, the 2 hole ACCO fastener is recommended because USCIS uses the 2 holes to bind the case into a folder at the service center.
-----------------------

should the 2 holes be on the top of papers or at the side ( right or left side)?

I will do it one year later from now, get to send out my I-751 package next Tue. first.
I don't want to give USCIS more money from me and my home country allows us have Dual citizenship.
So, why not?

Why would he have to apply for a visa to visit the US with me? Where did this information come from?

I guess what people tried to say is it would be a little difficult for him to come back to usa to visit your family with you.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAmount of time it takes to cash a check for I-751?
thanks, RositaL

As soon as i woke up this morning, couldn't wait to check my bank account again. I was so pleased that VSC finally cashed my check~~ There was a hand writting dated as 03/14 on the front of the check, but it was cashed on 03/18.

At noon, I finally got the return receipt from the mail-man. Then I knew the reason why it was late.
Eventhough the package was delivered at 1PM on 03/13, but it was received and signed at 4AM on 03/14.
I guess VSC only pick up those once a day very early in the morning.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAmount of time it takes to cash a check for I-751?
thank you for your words, Kathryn41

I had checked the usps, it said " Your item was delivered at 1:11 PM on March 13, 2008 in SAINT ALBANS, VT 05479."
I only bought the green-card receipt but not the electronic one, so I couldn't see it online.
It's the reason why I worry about my case. Did they really get my package?
If they did, why VSC haven't cash my check since they have got it 6 days ago.
I didn't write my A-number on the check, will it be the reason?

hope it's going to be a clear sky for both of us wub.gif

Sorry but i have to say i would rather they cash my check right away...
I sent my package on 3/11,08 with a return receipt, so far(03/18) still no news, my check hasn't been cashed yet,
but RositaL sent his/her package on the same day, had already got the NOA
I felt so frustrated crying.gif
I am so worried about my case, it has been 5 days but i even haven't got my receipt from the post office.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussioni-751 VSC question
QUOTE (rajthebam @ Mar 20 2008, 03:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
we filed i-751 on March 3rd and already got the notice NOA1 to extend 1 yr GC last week.

---------------------------------------------------
rajthebam:

Does your NOA1 have exactly point out from what date to what date? Mine doesn't.

My GC will expire on 06/09/08, and the receipt date on my NOA is 03/15/08.
the 1-year-extension means from 06/09/08 ~06/09/09 or 03/15/08 ~03/15/09??

" Upon receipt of your ASC appointment notice, you could find the status of your case on-line.

You could find those sentences on the bottom of NOA.

Look for the following wording on your I-797:
"Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year from date of expiration on your Form I-551, conditional resident card.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That is strange. My NOA only say" your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year."
It doesn't mention anything about how this a period of one year counted. huh2.gif
Just mine? Other people seem have no this kind of questions~~~

Ashish said: The I797C/Notice of action explicitly extends the green card for one year. Does yours not say that?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have the same question,too!
I got the I-797/NOA today. It does say something like my conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year.
During the one-year extension I am authorized employment and travel.

But on this I-797, it doesn't say a period of one year mean from when to when.
I am confused about it's the I-797 was the extension letter that people talked about? huh2.gif

the number listed on back of cancelled check isn't traceable.
you have to wait for the bio. app. letter that will give you another set of number which is traceable.

You or your landlord can write the letter and the landlord should have it notarized and signed in front of a Notary Public which you can find at most banks.

1) Are you talking about this? (YES, one or each of the 4 listed items)
QUOTE
If you are applying for naturalization based on your marriage to a U.S. citizen, send the following four items:
  1. Evidence that your spouse has been a U.S. citizen for the last three years:
    • Birth certificate (if your spouse never lost citizenship since birth), or
    • Naturalization Certificate, or
    • Certificate of Citizenship, or
    • The inside of the front cover and signature page of your spouse's current U.S. passport, or
    • Form FS-240, "Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America," and
  2. Your current marriage certificate, and
  3. Proof of termination of all prior marriages of your spouse - divorce decree(s), annulment(s), or death certificate(s); and
  4. Documents referring to you and your spouse:
    • Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates of children, or
    • Internal Revenue Service (IRS) - certified copies of the income tax forms that you both filed for the past three years, or
    • An IRS tax return transcript for the last three years.

I read this to mean that you have to submit "1 to 4" not "any one of the 4".

from 1 to 4 connects with "and" in blue, so they are all you have to submit.

otherwise, "or" in red, just submit any one of them.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionsending the removal of conditions package
Thanks for sharing me with your information,Cassie.^^
Let me know something new.

For Taiwanese, we just walk in the Bureau of Consular Affairs office and ask for the name amendment.
It will be done within 2 days and free.
Because I had a passport with my madien already, so they stamped and sealed on the second page of the passport where added my married name . If I renew a passport in the future, they will put both names on the front page. But my current one is still good for another 5 years... star_smile.gif

If you have a valid green card, why would you need the other items??
My passport (needed to enter other countries) is in my maiden name, and my tickets are booked in my maiden name to match the passport.
My green card (needed to re-enter the USA) is in my married name.
My copy of my marriage certificate is carried in case I am asked why there is a discrepancy between the two.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why don't add another " also known name" on your passport, then you don't have to carry your marriage certificate to proof

that the maiden name and the current name are the same person. That is what I have done.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMy bio. experience
Just came back from ASC, the whole process was beyond quick. My appt. was at 1 pm, but I arrived around 12:30pm.

Once I arrived, I was asked to present my G.C. and appt. letter, then filled out a form that asked about my personal information, such as name, birthday, social security number, a-number, add.,phone number, parent's names, height, weight.

2 mins later, it was my turn to do those fingerprints and pic taken after finished the form.
I left that ASC even eariler than my scheduled time.

My husband could waited inside the office with me, not being asked to wait outside.

the coming days will have a lot of ppl do thier fingerprints, good luck, folks good.gif

I really have no idea how they do their jobs.
I just talked to a thai girl this morning.
She said one of her friend got her 10-year GC within 2 weeks after she'd done her fingerprint.
So she strongly believes that she will get hers very soon, too.
When I told her there were a lot of people waited for their 10-year GCs longer than 5 months, she didn't believe me at all.
Maybe some people just have super good luck. wow.gif
