National Visa Center (Dept of State)I-130 For Mother Approved, Package shipped to NVC after three weeks?
Another brutal wait at NVC after months of brutal wait for USCIS to approve petition. These people need to made aware of the emotional cost of waiting. I sure don't know how. Good luck to us all.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)How do I change an answer on DS 260?
One of the questions posed on the Form DS 260 is whether my wife has taken vaccinations according to US laws and I answered yes thinking that my wife takes vaccinations each year. I just realized after taking to her about it today that she has not taken any vaccinations since she became an adult. How do I change my answer from yes to no?

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Now what:

Click on the portal tab and then consulate information. The medical information is there Q is best.

There is no advance medical. Your wife will not be able to have medical until she has interview letter in hand.

Well you say you sent in AOS package. What about your IV Bill and IV package?

The extra evidence you know you could add to your IV package that way the CO has in there hands before interview to review with the rest of your evidence. You have no guarantee that a CO will even loo at anything you brought to interview.

I already paid IV and sent in the civil documents to NVC. I thought of including the evidence but did not. My wife will take the additional evidence with her and I expect the CO will look at it.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Now what:
NVC has received my AOS and civil documents. I was told by the NVC rep that it would take 30 days to review the documents. I hope it does not take NVC that long to review the documents and let us know whether they need anymore information. Me and my wife are just tired of being apart from each other. I have gathered more relationship evidence for her to show the CO at the interview. Unfortunately I can't go with her to the interview. Just got back a few weeks ago from visiting her. We are both from Nigeria. I know we have more hoops to jump to get this visa. I wish I know where to do the medical ahead of time and would tell her to go and do it and get ready. What else can we do to get ready while waiting for NVC?

it might take up to 4 weeks for them to review your updated Affidavit of Support.

I hope it does not take them that long to review it.

Oh well I corrected it and mailed back another Form I-864 to NVC today after receiving a checklist from them that I did not check on part 4 what my residency status is in US or whether I am in the military or not. Damn, how could ommitt completing this part? It is corrected now. It took NVC two weeks plus to send me this checklist and I am sure it would take them longer than that to review this new Form i864 submitted to them today. It is my fault. Just have to wait out the delay. Good luck to all in this process.

It does not show any fee for me to pay. When I log in, there is no box for me to click and pay. Hopefully this is normal. I tried calling NVC to find out what is going on and line is busy.

How do I know that NVC received my AOS docs and looked or scanned into there system? I mailed the AOS supporting documents immediately to NVC after paying the AOS fee.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Question?

The Visa Interview is about you proving you are in a bonafide relationship. Her being pregnant is no grounds to prove otherwise. No she will not be denied just because she is pregnant.

Do you see all the people posting pregnant just had babies.

Had babies before interview or visa or after interview and receiving a visa?

Hi guys,
this morning 09 of april 2014. We received the barcode cover sheet and the IV showed as PAID, we received instruction to fill out the DS-260 online and submit supporting documents to the NVC.

My petitioner my husband sent the AOS package yesterday and tomorrow will send out the IV package as well.

My concern is, can I go ahead and fill the online DS-260 while the packages both AOS and IV are on the way or wait until they receive them at the NVC?

Complete the DS-260 now if it is available. After completing it, print the bar code and mail it along with the civil documents to NVC asap.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Frustrating..... even more when their is nothing you can do
I am not the first person to say this on here. This whole immigration process is starting to turn my marriage into a mess. I try to stay strong and tell my wife that we will be together soon and this is how immigration process works. I don't think it is getting through her. We got good news recently that she is pregnant and should focus on it and this is not helping out. To get my mind off this nightmare called immigration, I am focusing on work and putting the place where we will live together. I told her to find something to do that will keep her mind off this process. She understands but still. I am having arguments with her. Yesterday, she asked me if I regret marrying her. Honestly that question caught me off guard. I don't know what made her ask me that question. I have thought of moving back to Nigeria until this process works out and she said no and asked where will we get money to live off if it runs out. Some of the arguments with her in the past is to due me and the stress of work and this process that we are going through. I just hope I don't get short end of the stick after spend money and time to get my wife to join me here. My wife did mention to me in that past that I was not her first choice. Talk about being open with your husband. Damn imagine how mad I was. I still looked past it and continue because I love her. After she asked me this question yesterday, second thought is starting to kick in. I am assessing this situation. May be this immigration taking a long time may turn out to be blessing in disguise because I can withdraw it If I find out I am involved with someone with a different purpose in mind. How do I find out?

I don't wish anyone to go through this immigration process. Someone said on here that it is worth it because you will be with your love in the end. I doubt it spousal visa is worth the stress and emotional costs. This govt does not deserve to see us in pain if that is why they make this process take a long time. Someone did comment on here to go through the K1 route and I encourage it. Anyway, I wish anyone involved in this process all the luck. You will be with one you love soon.

Good luck to all in this process. I paid my IV bill today. I mailed the civil documents to NVC today. It will be delivered to NVC tomorrow. I was told by the NVC representative when I called that Form DS 260 will generate when the IV bill shows as paid. The rep said I can mail the civil documents to them and complete the Form DS 260 when it generates later which I am hoping by this Friday.

About how long from now can I expect the IV Fee to be available and the DS-260?

Same as you. I paid my AOS fee two days ago. I checked my account today and it is withdrawn from my account. I mailed my AOS packet yesterday. I think it will not be for long before we get the IV bill. A friend of mine told me that he got his AOS and IV back to back when he petitioned for his wife. Good luck in your journey.

How and when did you get your residence in the US  the only issue I can see is if your path to the US was shady

It is not shady at all. Please look at what I wrote from the point of the petitioner. I immigrated to the US when I was seventeen years old. I became a US citizen on my own six years after I immigrated to the US. My mother who was a citizen by that time petitioned for me.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDo you think we will be put in AP?
A family friend introduced my wife to me in November of 2012. We spoke three times before I visited Nigeria in December of 2013. It was in December of 2013 that I asked her to marry me and she said yes two days later. I knew within me she is the person I want to be with when I first met her. We continued talking everyday until March 2014 when I visited Nigeria again to pay for the bride price and traditional wedding. Only family friends attended the traditional wedding. Three days after the traditional wedding, we registered our marriage with the local government and obtained our marriage certificate.

Form I-130 was filed in May of 2013 and approved in December of 2013. Case was completed by NVC on April 11th, 2014. Interview date is on June, 2014.

I visited my wife again in January of 2014.

Besides what is requested on the interview letter, additional evidence my wife will show at the interview is:
More statements from family and friends who know about our relationship.
Statement from the family friend who introduced me to my wife
Itineraries and passport stamps showing trips I made to Nigeria
Additional pictures
Whatsapp messages
Phone call records
List of bridal items that I paid her family
Text message records
Brief email records

I did not know my wife or date her for long before getting married but it is a genuine relationship with its up and downs. I am a year older than her. We practice the same religion. We are from the same ethnic group. She is four months pregnant.

With what I said above, do you think she will get the visa?

USCIS Service CentersOutside the 5 month process times
I have called about once a week for the last two weeks and Monday the 7th I tried to put in a service request. They said I can't because we are inside the 15 days (our NOA1 is July 31st and they are working on the 17th) so "technically" we should have a response before the 15 day window an officer has to contact us about the service request. I told the woman that made no sense because I know they won't be on to July 31st by then as they have been working on July 17th since the 3rd of January. It is just frustrating that there is no straight answer to when this initial process will be over. Our July 6th wedding is quickly approaching and I am stressing out that there might be no groom!
