K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	HELP!!!	I Guess now when you call them, they update case status. Icey.........I don't know what to say. But If I can sum it up this way.......I felt like a "virgin petitioner" at the CSC until I got (using Ulings favorite term - fondled!!!).......all I know is that last night after I received the email that I was touched..........I almost needed a cigarette!!!!!!!!!!! Since they won't answer your questions and you can't call them or anything, try to relax a bit. You'll get something in the mail soon, I think. I realize that...but I am getting conflicting info...I need some local expert advice. I got the exact same email today too. I called CSC yesterday to find out what the foo was going on and they told me I had to wait 61 days from the date the received the RFE (absolute garbage, getting penalized for an RFE that had to be sent because of their screwup). I checked my email this morning and got the same one you did, three times in a row. Case was touched and had the same canned message. The only thing I can say with absolute certaintity is that CSC is from another friggin planet. Best of luck to ya, hon. I contacted Congressman Edwards last week and he sent me a reply this week stating he was in contact the CSC and would report back to me shortly. So as far as communication goes, Im pleased. I was ambivalent about involving a state rep because there is so much confusion as to whether or not it will help or hinder. I know some folks have gone from bad to worse by involving a state rep, and some have had fantastic results. I suppose its dependent on who the state rep is and whats going on in his/her office. But if you used the new I-129F you wont get the IMBRA RFE (at least I hope CSC isnt stupid enough to think you need one). Dont feel too bad hon, alot of us are suffering because of USCIS's stupidity and we understand how irritating and unnerving the wait can be. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Complaints on USCIS	I called the USCIS number 800-375-5283 for the enth time since we filed our K-1 and I got the absolute rudest rep. I was expecting a long hold time and a generally canned message, but this woman was a witch! After I had enough of her smack I asked for her supervisor and I was disconnected! What the f**k??? Does anyone know how to get ahold of a supervisor at USCIS, CSC, or anywhere? Maybe an email address? Any contact info is greatly appreciated. On August 31, 2006, an approval notice was mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours. Thank you very much. It looks like California finally got some work done!!!! Question my paper work is now being sent to the NVC, we will be notified when they receive the papers and send them off to the embassy or do we have to call to find out about the papers where abouts???? As far as I know you will receive a letter from NVC when the forward everything on to the consulate. Congratulations! Wonderful news! We got approved Sept. 5...after exactly 6 months! Maria Yayyyy! One thing to consider when you're looking at going the DCF route is how it will effect that transition once ya'll move back to the States. Will you have a job waiting, a means of supporting the new immigrant, a place to live? How much more difficult will it be for you both to come home and have to scramble to get everything set up? I know at least in my situation, with an arab husband, it was essential that I had things set up here so I could ease him into life in the US. I could focus on getting him settled and not have to worry about getting myself settled in again too. One thing to consider when you're looking at going the DCF route is how it will effect that transition once ya'll move back to the States. Will you have a job waiting, a means of supporting the new immigrant, a place to live? How much more difficult will it be for you both to come home and have to scramble to get everything set up? So true!! Having lived in my fiance's country for one year, and then returning to the US, I would absolutely caution about trying to re-establish in the US. You can't get a job without a telephone number and a place to live, and you can't get a telephone number and place to live without a job (not to mention all of the lump sum cash deposits that you will need). Additionally, auto insurance companies will charge close to an additional 50% for not having had recent coverage. And then there's also the fact that you still have to prove your financial stability in US dollars ... which is hard to do from another country. I had thought about these things, too. But my company will hold my job for me, so Im not too worried about that. But having a place to live is a tad more complicated. Ive been living with my aunt and uncle for the last year and a half, and if I leave I would be leaving most of my effects in their care and still receiving mail at their house. Upon return to the U.S. we would need our own digs ASAP, and I havent yet figured out how to accomplish that while overseas. Alot to consider. I guess the main reason we are considering the DCF is because being apart is really hell on our relationship. Any thoughts or suggestions? Anyone else contemplated this craziness? Aside from starting over and paying a new fee, what are the downsides? Ive read the DCF guides here, searched the forums, and a few other sites, but I figured it was time for some good 'ol fashioned VJ experience. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. Not only did it take them 3 months to start issuing IMBRA questionnaires, they left the freakin' questionnaire out of the envelope they sent me! Got the RFE letter, got the letter explaining the new law, but no questionnaire. Believe me, you're not stupid, just anxious to have your honey with you. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	I don't get it!	Sorry to vent out my frustrations but I don't understand how some people send in their applications and get a NOA2 so quickly! I received my NOA1 on 8/16 and that's it, it hasn't been touched or anything. Then I come here and I see that there are people who get like a NOA2 a week or two after their NOA1!!! What's the deal? What am I doing wrong? Don't feel bad, you're probably not doing anything wrong. CSC usually takes awhile to get things done (and calling them doesnt seem to do anything but make you upset). We got our NOA1 on March 22 and NOA2 didn't come until September 6. We didn't even get touched until June or July. You're now a member of the CSC waiting club.
