Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)visa status administrative processing

the confirmation window told us that we are approved thats was sep 10, the consular didnt ask any other documents for us.

They didn't ask your documents because your papers are sufficient to full fill the process. If they need any more documents or you've missed some papers sure they will contact you for the papers which they need. so you don't worry about the status.. u'll get the visa..

United Kingdomhave we run out of time? London Embassy! help!!!!!

First find your case number and check the status in website. Then try to collect all the proof you have for K1 visa which you applied then contact the consular office. Try to explain why you couldn't follow the visa progress correctly and show your medical records too..

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusPolice report translated into english at for the Russian Consulate?

I have heard otherwise, but I will probably get it done just to make sure.

There will be authorized translation center for translating these kinds of Legal documents. If you did translation over there It'll be more helpfull for you to know about other formalities like notarization..

I'm about to file our AOS for my mom's petition. I have no income, my husband filled up the I864A already, he's in the military and we have joint income taxes, I know it's common sense but I need to make sure, in my I864, do I need to put in the tax year and total income? And should I also submit two copies of our taxes? It's a little confusing for me, I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

hi alizeyah. thank you so much for sharing your experience. that makes me feel so much better. i sent you a PM by the way.

thanks for the encouragement babybebita. i'm keeping my fingers crossed.

My psych exam is on July 24. I was just wondering if I would have to postpone my interview on August 4. The lady at the counter said, "no". But she also said that the results will come out 2-3 business days after July 24, so that makes it July 29 - 4 business days before my visa interview. That's cutting it too close and I'm worried my medical results might not make it to the embassy in time for my interview. WHat do you guys think?

Just a quick note: The SLEC will be the one who will reschedule your interview, just in case your result got delayed like another convention comes up hehehehe smile.gif so you don't need to call the embassy for another schedule or notify them that you won't be coming anymore and that it has been moved.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)What is in a i-601 Waiver for Fiancee?

Hi,

Check USCIS Website to get the information .

**now my questions is anyone who has already done a I-601 waiver for a fiancée, (Canada)

1. what other documents does one need? do you need to have originals of any forms/paperwork (police records, citizenship, etc.)

2. do you need to also acknowledge why the fiancée was denied (moral turpitude) do you need their police records, statements, letter from them?(originals/copies)?

3. does the USCIS only care for the extreme hardship the US Citizen would incur in that portion of the packet, since the fiancée is already denied for having a charge involved in moral turpitude?

Please anyone who has done a I-601 waiver packet via attorney or on their own guide me so I have all the paperwork. Please give me any input.

My main concern is putting the packet together properly and also having legitimate proper format for the hardship letter.

I consulted with 3 attorney's and unfortunately the fee's are extremely high, which I cannot afford at the time. I learned from my research the I-601 waiver is kind of like a k-1 visa binder.

You need to be organized, good grammar, to the point and sincerity and have the following in the I-601:

use fasteners or a folder with two prongs on the top.

tabs should be on the bottom

1. a brief explaining a bit about the relationship with your fiancée abroad

2. a letter explaining the hardships you will incur with the most extreme hardship first to show emphasis. Along with the hardship you must have proof.

Qualifying hardships include: illness, if your a caregiver, anyone dependent on you, education, work, debts, property, your spouse that cannot get into U.S. country is not a good place for your future.(need proof of them)

3. affidavits/ letters from mom, dad, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, community, work, doctor

4. any documents like taxes, property docs, statements of credit card, copies of checks that may prove you help with anyone dependent on you.

5. photos of you with your family

6. photos of you with your fiancée

7. basically any strong ties to the US that will enable you to move to another country.

PLEASE, give me your feedback as it will help me.

My fiancée was denied due to a charge of moral turpitude and the waiver is our only option for him to get approved and get a visa so we can get married.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Administrative Processing...day 50

Hi,

Most administrative processing is resolved within 90days of interview. When adminstrative processing , it may vary on depending of the case. You can call to the National Customer Service Center to know your case status. But USCIS Strongly recommends applicant must wait atleast 60 days.

My fiance went in for his interview in New Delhi on August 27th (K1 visa). He had all the documentation they asked for and after the interview was over, they gave him a pre-printed paper with his name on it stating that they were going to do some mandatory background processing. The woman interviewing him said he did a great job, told him they were keeping his passport, and that we'd be in Administrative Processing. She said it would take 2-4 weeks. We check the CEAC site daily, and they've only updated our case twice (the last time being Sept. 12).

It has been 50 days now.

What can I do? What are our options?

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)Visa Approved- when do we get it?

Hi,

Entering US on the intention to get marry is not advisable. For mariage, you have to file Fiancee Visa. Hope that is not a issue for you. It is better to Call to the USCIS officer & explain them that ypu have planned marriage.

Hello all,

Starting to worry a bit.  My fiance had his interview in Naples 2 weeks ago today, and they told him he was approved but there was still some work to be done on it, and he would get it in 2 days to 2 weeks.  They kept his passport.  Yesterday he called and they said to look out for an email with a tracking number, but they didn't give him a timeline.  I know you shouldn't plan anything until you have the visa in hand but due to family pressure we have already planned the wedding for less than 3 weeks from now and bought his flight for less than 2 weeks from now.  So I'm starting to wonder exactly how long can they keep his passport without returning it to him?  Most people in the Naples reviews say you can get the visa the next day or sometimes it comes a week later.  Anyone have any ideas why it could be taking so long?  I am going to call today because I don't think my fiance asked them enough questions, but does anyone have any other suggestions?  Thanks all!

USCIS Service CentersComparing Processing Times - How Does This Affect My Application?

Hey, My name is Robert. I am from Scotland. This is my first time posting.

Myself and my fiancé submitted our K-1 visa application on 2nd April and it was received / filed on the 15th April. At the time, the waiting time for the California Service Centre was roughly 200 days. By my estimate that would have us receiving our first reply/answer roughly at the start of November. Since then I have seen that the waiting times have been going down and down since then. Currently, for people submitting their application the waiting time is 132 days, which is great news. Again by my estimates that puts their rough time for receiving their first reply/answer from the California Service Centre at the start of November. My question is, is this how it will work out for both submissions and the first reply or will the fact that waiting times have went down since we submitted ours at the start of April mean that we will have a lesser waiting time than what it was projected to be at the time (6.5 months/November).

I know this may seem like an obvious question, but I just cant make up my own mind as to what this means for our application timescale and thought someone could help give me a better understanding of how this affects us.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Robert

Geeh, can I ask what you put in the box that asks for your 'post assigned appointment date' when you were signing up/adding applicant on the usvisa-info.com website. I have no idea what this is and where to get it.

Yeh cheers nich-nick, you are a really helpful wealth of information.

I still don't quite understand how some people have been able to pay their MRV's since/after the new system came into place without their interview date, but I am definitely more knowledgeable than I was a couple of days ago.

vantasticvoygeMaleUnited Kingdom2013-08-01 17:42:00
United KingdomFeeling anxious and worried.

So this following is how I have decided to tackle the rest of the process after reading every bit of information (contradictory or otherwise)

1. sign up for account on www.usvisa-info.com

2. attend medical

3. wait for (and receive) letter with interview date

4. 'add recipient' in my account at www.usvisa-info.com (using interview date to complete the 'post assigned interview date' section previously holding me back)

5. Pay for visa

6. Choose delivery option

7. Attend Interview

8. Receive visa in the mail.

all going well of course!

Does this sound about right? am I missing anything? Am I right (as a k-1 applicant) to not have any further involvement with the CEAC website from this moment onwards?

United KingdomNew development in MRV fee payment for K-1.

I definitely see what you are saying nich-nick. It's a bit of a worry. Could it possibly be a new feature of the new system/process? it was referred to as a k-1 visa throughout the whole process of paying the $240 MRV and scheduling the new date. Also, everything on the website as of now refers of a nothing but a k-1. As far as I could see my old appointment date and time was not on the website where it once was (since i received my appointment letter in the mail) when they finally informed me there was an option to pay the MRV online and had no option but to complete what it was asking of me. I think i am well and truly in the centre of all the transitions in the process they are going through. I might turn up at the original appointment first, just incase.

United KingdomNew development in MRV fee payment for K-1.

Thanks for the info and advice. As always, many thanks.

Also, I got my letter with my appointment date and time and gave me all the instructions to follow. After a whole loads of trouble paying my MRV online, I finally was given the option to do so and did. However it made me choose another date and time on the new website. So now I have an embassy sent letter one date and the website says another. My print off from directly after paying for and scheduling that appointment also says the new date. Therefore  don't have a letter from the embassy with the new date. Will they accept my print out from the website to gain entry?

vantasticvoygeMaleUnited Kingdom2013-09-17 16:35:00
United KingdomNew development in MRV fee payment for K-1.

I just paid my MRV fee online and printed out the instructions it provides directly after this. In the instructions there is a section entitled 'general required documents - for all visa types'.

Within this it states that I must take a 'non-immigrant visa application form DS-160 confirmation page' to the interview.

To the best of my knowledge during the whole K-1 visa process, I have never been instructed to fill out a DS-160. Also, after checking since reading this I still cannot see any k-1 instructions telling me to do this. Should I do this prior to my interview? has anyone else?

P.s. is a k-1 visa technically a non-immigrant visa since you are doing all your adjustment of status stuff once you are in the country and married?

Thank you for any help.

Robert

United KingdomNew development in MRV fee payment for K-1.

I have been informed that payment of the MRV fee for K-1 applicants has changed. Can anyone confirm the following?

If you are at the stage of waiting for your interview and have your date, you DO NOT pay your fee PRIOR to the interview. You attend the interview at the embassy, during which you are given instructions on how to complete your payment. It is now not done even on the new website in addition to not over the telephone.

This information came from an employee working in the MRV payment department for the embassy. Can anyone let me know if they have heard, been told, ACTUALLY DONE the same as this.

I live just outside of Edinburgh and want to avoid going all the way down to London to be told I should have paid before I had my interview at all costs.

Thank you very much for all your help.

United KingdomLondon Medical Examination

Thanks very much for taking the time to get back to me, I really appreciate it. My medical examination is on the 8th august. I scheduled it as soon as I received my letter from the US embassy confirming our approved petition and my case number etc.

I just posted another topic relating to all my DS forms that I now have to do being at the stage that I am, do you mind if I copy and paste it for you to read and if anyone has any info that could help, I would definitely appreciate it aswell. Thanks for your time...

"I am at currently at the stage in my K-1 visa process where we have had our petition approved, it has been sent to the NVC and then sent on to the London embassy. I have now received a letter from the US embassy stating all of this and giving me further instructions on what to do next. However, there seems to be a lot of different instructions coming from a lot of different places within the embassy website and on the paperwork itself. Can anyone who has done this part of the application please answer a few questions I have?

Do I send the DS-230 part 1, DS-156, DS-156K and DS-157 to the visa immigrant unit or is it now done through their new immigration visa website that they started last week?

On the DS-156K it asks me to send my birth certificate, evidence of engagement, evidence of financial support and police certificate attached. Do I do this? and if so should it be the originals? Other sources including the FAQ on visajourney.com states that I should NOT send anything prior to the interview. Also the original letter i got from the embassy states that I should not send anything unless requested to do so. is the ds-156k requesting me to do so or does this not count? if I do have to send it with the 156k, will I get my original copies back in time for the interview?

Also, do I sign any of the form when I send them to the embassy or do I leave them all blank until I get there and sign it then?

I would really really appreciate any info anyone has, as I am at a complete loss and don't want to make any move incase its the wrong one. Thank you for your time.

Robert"

United KingdomLondon Medical Examination

Hey, I was looking for a little information on my upcoming medical exam. I was wondering if anyone could help or advise.

I noticed that part of the exam is taking height and weight and BMI and blood pressure etc. I am fairly tall. 6 foot 2 inches but am a little heavier than I should be, and my BMI is a little higher than it should be as a result. I have never had any problems that I know of with my blood pressure in the past but I was just wondering if carrying extra weight/BMI can be a reason for failing the exam?

Thanks for any insight/info.

United KingdomWhere to get Police Records in England?

Errr, you need one only if your fiancee was born in the UK AND has lived here for more than six months after the age of 16. If it is not your country of birth, AND you lived here for 12 months or more, then you need the certificate. As per the London Embassy website on whether you need a certificate:

To the OP: is your fiancee a British national?

No ... Turkish. So if I understand correctly, we only need to submit one if she resided there for 12 months ... which she didn't.

Info on police certificates in the U.K.

This is directly from travel.state.gov:

Immigrant visa applicants who have resided in the United Kingdom for six months or more since the age of sixteen are required to obtain a statement from the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) Criminal Records Office.

Hope this helps!

Suna: that is why you ask for BOTH the CURRENT records (going back 6 months) and the ARCHIVED (arsiv or anything that is older than 6 months)...if you don't ask or make it understood you will get what looks like the attachment above that Elisa has provided...it looks almost the same, but has an easily overlooked added sentence regarding the archived part...should say "yoktur" for both records as in there is no records, meaning essentially they don't have a police record either current or archived ( recent vs. old or "archived" or arsiv in Turkish the S with the tail of course, but my keyboard is not Turkish lol)..

Hope I made it so you can understand it guys and you are not more confused lol

We're just starting this process and trying to get ready. Do the Turkish police records come in English, or do these have to be translated into English?
