Nothing new here either...but I'm having big hopes for next week
Who knows? I know this waiting really is hard, and what makes it even harder is being so far away from each other.

John was supposed to get here in two days for a whole month, but with this ash cloud hovering all over Europe, the chances are very low :crying: ...oh well, holding out til air traffic is up and running again....hopefully SOON!

Though I'd love to think that we'll be next (our sending date and NOA1 are exactly the same as JR's) sometimes I think there is no rhyme or reason to who gets approved. It will happen when it is meant to, I suppose. Surely we'll start to see more approvals within the next week or so.

Definitely; it happens when it's meant to be...good luck with your NOA2!

do RFE's appear pretty quickly in the process??

the way I am picturing things is they get my packet, deposit my money and take a look at things to see that there are no glaring issues. If at that point they find nothing obvious they then proceed to do all the background checks and send RFE's at that time if they are needed. So I picture two critical times that RFE's will be issued before a NOA2.

yeah, that's what i'm thinknig, too. I don't think we're in the safe zone yet, unfortunately. But let's keep our fingers crossed!
Good luck to y'all!

Hello, I'm new here! Hoping everything goes quickly for all of us. I hope those H-1B applications don't slow us down.
When is everyone planning on getting married? We have already set our date for mid-November, I hope that's not too early...

I just noticed in your timeline that you guys are getting married on my birthday!! This is awesome :)

Uh oh, what kind of mistakes did you have? Hopefully nothing major.

I hope they won't notice ;-)) In John's letter head, we accidentally put my old US phone number instead of his!!! :bonk: :bonk:

At least, the one in the I-129F form is the right one. I just pray that they will use that one and completely overlook that mishap!

And I put my secondary residence in the G-325A form, but my primary residence and mailing address in the I-129F, which is not really a mistake, it might just confuse them having two different addresses listed... :crying:

Pray for us and cross your fingers!!

I don't think you get any email notifications until you create a login account on USCIS.gov. I put my email address on the I-129F but they didn't email me. It was only when I saw in my online banking that the check was cashed that I went to USCIS and looked up our case number and created an account (and selected to get email and text alerts). So now any future updates will be sent to me via email/text and mail.

Oh, okay. That makes sense. Thank you for the info. :-)

I am not sure but I think we already received our NOA1 ?!?
Is it the one page thing that we receive by mail ?

Here is why I got confused !
People's timeline said :
" xx/xx/10 NOA1 received"
" xx/xx/10 Hardcopy NOA1 received"

What is the diffence between those two things ?

Check was cashed, We received a notice of action with our number that start with WAC. Is that paper the hard copy ?!?

thx

Yes, exactly, that's it. Hard copy just means that it is not virtual or oral, but a real piece of paper.

So, congrats, you have it :-) And the WAC number is your case number with which you can check your status online, etc.

People seem to get it both by email and hardcopy, but I don't think John received an email; he just got the hard copy. I have to ask him, though.
Does anybody know how it works in detail? Does everybody get both email and hardcopy?

Yes, Don't worry !
Sometimes it's faster sometime it's slower ! There is nothing we can do about it ! I decided to stop thinking about it because it stresses me so much. Plus I am pretty sure your case is very easy and common ! I read some crasy story on VJ where people have to deal with more than just waiting like us for NOA1 to get there !!! At the beg I was stressing a lot because I overstayed last year ( less that 180 days). Now, I am like : We won't know unless we try !!

Look at Travelbugs, their already got the hardcopy of NOA1. (Congrat's by the way !) Ours is gonna come soon birdygirl185 !!

Thank you, Soph! :-) Now it's all about waiting for NOA2....I wish you guys best of luck! I'm sure it'll be there soon, Birdygirl85! The hardest part really is the waiting.

Yesterday my boyfriend saw that they cashed our check. I am hoping today for a NOA1 in his mailbox ! I think, soon, I will get on his nerves if I keep bothering him :bonk:
From now I don't care if I get an RFE I just want to hear from them !!!

Okay...I can't wait to receive it to find out...Tell me ! What is exactly the letter/NOA1 that you received : Is it just one piece of paper? is this a big file ? What the next step when you receive it? I134 or just waiting for the NOA2 ?

Whoo, that is exciting. Congrats on them cashing the check :D
I'm crossing my fingers for the NOA1 in his mailbox. I've been bothering my boyfriend, and he's soon gonna get mad if I keep on asking him the same thing every day ...haha... :bonk:

I know, I just wanna hear from them, too, so I know the process has started.

We haven't received the NOA1 yet, but I remember from getting it when I got my work visa a little while ago that it was only a one page letter in a small envelope. I assume it's the same for the K-1.

After that, I believe you have to start gather everything for your interview like the I134, etc...but I saw a list here on visajourney with all the info...http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

I find myself checking my bank account every day to see if they cashed my check! Haha... They still haven't yet, but I know it can take some time... Tomorrow will be one week since I sent my 129F package at the Post Office.

We're in the same boat...sent out our I-129F on 03/11/10 and I am getting more and more nervous every day...it's not even been a week though!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical Exam

I was wondering if anyone has gone through or know of anyone going through the embassy's medical exam while having HIV. My understanding is that it was removed from the list of diseases that would deny entry into the U.S. and that they don't test for it as well. My wife's exam is coming up in acouple of weeks and she is very worried that it will still barr her from getting the visa.

I don't know if this is true, but I read some reviews on medical exams in Germany where apparently, starting Jan 2010, HIV is no longer tested for. But this is just hear-say. Hopefully, someone else with more insight in this topic can give you more details.

Good luck!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPay Stubs - Originals or Copies

I wish to send my Pay Stubs in with my 864 package.

My question is should I send in my original Pay Stubs - or would it be fine for me to just send photocopies?

Since you can send copies of your tax returns, W2s, bank statements, etc I am assuming there is no REQUIREMENT to send in original pay stubs, correct?

My desire is to retain the original pay stubs and carry those with me to the interview instead.

I just returned from my K1 interview in Frankfurt, Germany, and they did not require the original paystubs. I had them with me just in case, but they said copies were fine. They didn't even want to see them.

But maybe someone with CR-1 experience can help out.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureshow to check case online before NOA1?
Is there a way to check your case status online before receiving an NOA1?

I've been reading this in several posts, and I am curious now cause I would LOVE to do that too :-)
Don't I need a case number or something?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMove of beneficiary after NOA1

They don't - nothing really to do until your petition is approved.

Once approved, you'll be able to get your (new) NVC case number - with this number, you can contact Frankfurt with your new address (so they'll know where to send things to). That's what we did at least.

I have another question concerning the whole address situation of mine...since I am enrolled in school here in Germany, only 3 more months to go, John and I decided to put my parents', i.e. my home address on the I-129F (Babenhausen, my official main residence and mailing address), not my current address for school (Regensburg, my official secondary residence) since this is only transitory (til June) and not reliable for me to receive mail. However, on the G-125A I put my current address for school because that's where I am residing at the moment (Regensburg).
In hindsight, this might confuse USCIS...do you think this might pose a problem?
I mean, I am not lying to them; my situation is just a little complicated right now.

Does anybody else have the same problem? Or has anybody dealt with the same situation?

Hey you guys,

I (the beneficiary) just moved into a new apartment after we submitted the I-129F package around 3 weeks ago (and received NOA1).

My question now is: does my fiance have to update this information with USCIS?? :help:

Thank you all for your help!! :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGERMANS: Erstwohnsitz/Zweitwohnsitz
With the whole visa application, I have started thinking about my address situation and how I have not updated my "Zweitwohnsitze". My "Erstwohnsitz" has stayed the same since birth, since I have been moving quite frequently, spent a lot of time abroad, etc and wanted to be sure that I have one reliable address in Germany.

Now I realized that I have not updated my "Zweitwohnsitz" since 2006, which means it does not correspond to my data in the G-325A...how is everybody else's situation and experience? Are they checking that during the I-129F process (or are they even allowed to check within the German system)?

Moreover, since I always use my main residence as address and mailing address, we put this in the I-129F form, whereas I used my Zweitwohnsitz, where I currently and temporarily live, as current residence on the G-325A...

:bonk:

Was that stupid? But it's the truth...I just hope they are not gonna fuss about it or get confused...Any thoughts? Danke :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F NOA1 taking way too long

OK maybe I'm way confused. I did get a letter and it is a I-797C. It is basically saying that they received my I-129f and cashed my checked and they are in the middle of processing my petition. I'm actually looking for a notice that is stamped NOA1. Is the I-797C the NOA1 notice?

Yes, that's it. So you're good to go :)

So, J just got the news that he might get deployed by the end of the year...Of course, we don't know if the visa will be through by then or if there will be enough time to get married and file for AOS etc.
Since we've started the process now, we don't want to withdraw. We wanna start our life together now.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWEDDING
We are not booking or planning anything. Once I'm there, we're going to have a small civil ceremony, and once all the paperwork is completed, AOS is through, GC there, we'll have our 'real' big wedding with family and friends in my hometown in Germany.

We both decided that this is just better for everybody, since it's so hard to make plans and you don't want to have your family and friends book flights when you can't tell them exactly when it might happen.
Plus, we want to plan and organize everything together, and this is hard from across the ocean.
