IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDivorce

You allege a marriage for immigration benefits and yet she has your baby? That leaves a funny taste in my mouth since a baby is typically not what a woman that marries solely for immigration benefits makes part of the equation.

hmmm... not really. I've read somewhere that some women planned this to the extent of getting pregnant because no matter where she runs away without her husband, she doesn't need him anymore since the baby is an american citizen and can make her legal anyway. BTW, these women always report of "spousal abuse" even if they weren't just to stay legal.

USCIS Service CentersPetition Sent to NVC

Has anyone from CSC that's been approved in March already had their petition sent to NVC? Mine was approved on March 9th and I know they say to give them 2-4 weeks to get it there, it just seems like it shouldn't take so long. If I can send something snailmail and get it to them in 2 days why does it take a month to mail something?

Miranda, Our noa2 was approved march 10, 2006 and we received the hard copy in the mail march 17... it should be at the NVC now!! grrr!!! Where the ?$%!*?! is it????

That's great news!!! Mine hasn't even arrived yet.. it's been 9 days since my interview date, and my status is still "shipment received at distribution center" whatever that means. My friends who had the same interview date as mine had received their visa 3 days ago. I don't know what's going on... :( The consul told me i was approved though.. Anyone got a clue?

United KingdomHas anyone asked for a temporary work visa?

Yes, it does seem that JFK is the only port of entry that still gives the EAD stamp. That's what we're trying for when my fiance comes here, so he's flying into JFK first and then on to California.

Asia: East and PacificTrip to Phillipines/Gen Santos

Chris,

Listen to your fiancee as she is the one living in the area and most aware of the situation there. If she is concerned for your safety then I would suggest that you meet up somewhere not as dangerous as General Santos. Mindanao is unpredictable and there are a lot of armed groups there.

If your fiancee can take time off, maybe y'all can meet in another location, perhaps Cagayan de Oro or Cebu or Manila.

I agree! Gen san is not safe especially nowadays.. it's wise to meet in places like cebu or manila.. I'm from cebu so I know this place is very safe.. we have plenty of tourists here esp. koreans! Goodluck!

Asia: East and Pacificquestions on I-134 Evidence
My fiance is also having a hard time with bank letter. Finally they released something i think it's a certificate when the account was opened, account number, and very plenty information on it that costs $10. All i really wanted was a bank letter stating that he has an account there, when it was opened, The total deposits for the last year and the present balance. This bank letter is short and to the point it needs nothing else. So many information can lead to so many questions which i do not like.

Is this certificate considered as a bank letter?

Asia: East and PacificThe big day is Saturday, but I am nervous. It's been tough.

Thank you all for your well wishes and support. There is much advice beiong given here that is worth my time to think about and use. Things have been interesting since I started this thread. Last night I pretty much put my foot down about everything. I said what I would and would not do and told her what I would and would not accept and if she didn't like it, the wedding is off. I sent $500 to Vietnam and made it clear not a penny more will come from my pocket until we move to North Carolina and even then it will be a while because I have to get settled. In detail I explained cost of living issues here in CT and what I make, what is taxed, what I spend on my mortgage, insurance, etc. She was shocked and admitted that because she has never had the responsibility of taking care of herself she just could not understand these issues. Last night was an excellent breakthrough in communication.

This morning we had our third meeting with the pastor who will perform the ceremony on Saturday and it was very useful, like the first two. The pastor is very open to non-Christian beliefs and Anh feels very comfortable with him, though not in talking about certain subjects of course.

Afterwards she said to me that she treated her ex-boyfriend much in the same way and that all they did was fight. She apologized and talked a great deal about how she thinks she needs to grow up and become a woman. Long story short, we had an exceptional dialogue, one that really made us feel better about all of this.

This afternoon she asked my father to walk her down the aisle, something that surprised me because she is so shy. But she wants to be closer to my family, so I am thankful for this.

As I write this I am being called to dinner. She's cooking up a storm right now, so I need to go. Just know that things are moving forward. I feel OK. I think we will get married on Saturday. Hopefully I can post back here Friday, but it's hard to get onto the computer. I will keep you all posted.

Thanks once again for all the well wishes. :)

I am very glad (and proud) of what you did. You were very mature in handling the situation. Wishing you a happy marriage!

AArghhh! I still didn't get any response from the NVC since i emailed them 2 days ago and I didn't get any mail from them yet (the NVC case number). National Visa Center (Dept of State)how accurate is the automated system??

Hi,

You should ccall again tomorrow during business hours, and speak with an operator personally. The automated system is great for some things, but in this case-do speak with someone. You will get more answers. Everyone I have spoken with at NVC has been very. very nice and helpful.

Good Luck.

-Rose

Hi Again,

Almost forgot, use your USCIS case number for now.

Ours took about 2 weeks to get there from Vermont. I think they send over in bulk 1x a week.
The NVC case number will be on the DS-3032 upon receipt.

Give a phone for peace of mind.

-Rose

HI.. I called the nvc this morning and finally got to talk to an operator. Luckily, they told me that they received my case and that they will forward it to the embassy this week. He also gave me my new nvc case number since i have not received a hard copy from them yet. My question is, What is DS-3032 and will I get that with the nvc hard copy? What else should I expect from the NVC? How long did you get yours? Any reply
would be very much appreciated! thanks again Rose.. :)
