They don't process anything really other than filing your submissions away and checking to see when all has been received. Nobody is evaluating your answers. They never RFE like USCIS does.

Administrative processing is what they call shuffling papers, and filing way your things, and waiting on scheduling. It doesnt only mean the dreaded AP where you dont get a visa until a year after the interview.

It's a holiday week and also a busy time for travel and student visas. They might not have opened your DS-2001 letter yet.

Good idea. The guy spoke asked if it was an Immigrant or a Non Immigrant Visa. I found this peculiar as the other times I have called up (about 3 or 4), I have just given my Case Number. I even asked him if he could tell me when it was last 'touched' and he said he couldn't see that information.

 

I'll give them a go in a bit, as they're 5 hours behind us. If I'm not successful I may look to call that extortionate number. Or I wonder, since I have previously been assigned a number from the Embassy to email them, if that code would work now... I may try emailing them and asking.

I did. We put down 9th August. I hope to hear from them about it soon. I check CEAC everyday. My last update was 5th July. When I called up the DOS they stated it was in Administrative Processing.

Hi All,

 

Have a quick question I'm hoping someone will be able answer for me.

 

I initially sent off all forms related to Packet 3 (with the exception of the DS-2001 and cover letter) and it was received by the Embassy on 3rd June. I then needed to finish gathering together all supporting documentation and the Embassy didn't receive my DS-2001 and cover letter until 1st July. My question is, would the Embassy have started processing my application when they received the first set of forms or would they of waited until they received everything? I'm trying to guesstimate the wait time as I'm keen (as I'm sure everyone is) to get an interview scheduled in for as soon as possible.

 

My medical was 24th June and was received by the Embassy on 2nd July.

Just called up the DOS number and found out that I have an interview scheduled for August 6th at 6.30am. Very early in the morning! the woman on the phone just said '6.30' and asked if that was AM or PM and she confirmed AM. At least things are getting set in stone. Very happy right now. :)

Congrats. They received my DS-2001 and medical results on 1st and 2nd July respectively.

 

Am hoping to receive something very soon myself.

 

 

Deanna called the NVC again today asking if an interview date has been issued, as she has been everyday this week, and we HAVE A DATE!!

They received the medical results Monday 8th July and It's the 11th today, 3 days to issue a date! I did state our wedding date of 17th August, so it may or may not have been a factor.

Now to plan a trip to London from sunny Anglesey!!

What wedding date did you specify in your cover letter? I am about a week ahead of you in terms of when the Embassy received results and forms so we both should hear about an interview about the same time.

I had my medical on 24th June and sent my DS-2001 form off, which was received at the Embassy on 1st July. I am just waiting to hear of an interview date now.

 

Looking at others signatures of the time between the medical and the interview I really hope not to be waiting too much longer.

Just a general question to those that had their interview last week and were approved. Has your visa been issued yet, according to CEAC?

 

I had my interview, and was approved, last Wednesday. On July 25th there was a 'New Case Creation' and 'Status Updated Date' but my overall status is still 'Ready'. Just wanted to see if anyone else from last week is in the same boat as I am veeery eager to get back to my fiancée.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionSending off Packet 3 (London Embassy)

Hi All,

 

I am shortly going to be sending off the contents of Packet 3 to the London Embassy but had a quick question regarding the DS-2001 form.

 

Is it OK to send this off without having yet gathered all the evidence? I ask this as I would like to send everything off in one go to save as much time on this whole process as possible. I have gathered most of the documents that is requested but am just waiting on a few things (e.g. I have requested my full Birth Certificate, so am just waiting for it to come in the post). I am yet to have my medical (scheduled for mid-to-late June time) and can definitely say that by the time I have my medical and the Embassy receives the results, I would have everything needed ready for my interview.

 

Have many others done this?

I have just emailed the NVC and requested a change of address. Since they have not yet received our petition from USCIS I am hoping they will be able to change it at this stage.

I received my NOA2 this morning (hooray!) and need to get this changed appropriately in order to receive the necessary paperwork from the London consulate. Who would I need to contact (USCIS, NVC or consulate) in order to receive this?

The same happen to me , no text or email I just got the letter for rfe in the mail and is also expecting the same with the response, I remember when we went for our interview for AOS , we got a text around 10pm the following night , best day of my life.We raced downstairs and check the update , it clearly states the petition was approved. This was on 12/22/2010. wow time goes by fast.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNew I-864 version

We are about to submit our application and since I read about this problem with the new I-864, we decided to send the old version. Hope to send the packet on monday, the 17th.

I wonder if they will receive it until the 23rd.

Just in case, should I include the new version as well, and explain on the cover letter?

You can get a "Verification of Non-filing" online actually, comes in very handy: http://www.irs.gov/I...onfiling-Letter

A lot of the forms are generic as well since you could be doing an AOS for a parent or someone else depending on what process you're on which is why they don't say "spouse". Heck yours wouldn't even say spouse since you guys aren't married yet smile.png. 

If your mother didn't submit an I-864 with 1d checked and everything else indicated that seems likely to be what they're referencing. Others may be able to provide more information.

You already filled out an I-134. They just want the letter from the IRS stating you did not file taxes. They want an I-864 from your mother, just like they stated in your 221g. Sometimes when the USC petitioner has zero income, they want an I-864 from a joint sponsor to try and ensure the government could get paid back if the beneficiary receives public assistance. The I-134 is not legally binding, but the I-864 is. They are wanting a joint sponsor that is willing to sign an I-864. Be sure to read the I-864 form instructions so you include everything needed with it. She will need most recent tax transcript(and need to list Total Income amounts from last 3 years on the form), letter from employer and/or most recent pay stubs, plus proof she is a USC or LPR.

I provided my mothers 2013 tax return, 3 recent pay stubs, letter from employer, proof that she is legal permanent resident, and a W2. My fiancee said that the lady kept those documents along with everything else required for the interview. So I have my mom fill out form I-834? Im guessing I-834a isnt required? Do I need to fill out anything? I just want to make sure. Also, should I send the tax returns and pay stubs and everything else again along with the form? Thanks so much for the help. I really appreciate it.

Okay so my fiancee recently had her interview on March 12th at Montreal Consulate. We made sure she had everything and even at the consulate a lady checked all her papers to make sure she had all necessary documents so she can be allowed to proceed to the interview. If she was missing something, they wouldve told her to come back once she has all documents but that wasnt the case. It turns out that at the interview, the lady told her she cant be given the visa because she didnt have my 2013 taxes. I filled out 2 form I-134. One from me, and one from my mother who agreed to co-sponsored since I currently an unemployed and didnt file for taxes. My fiancee explained I was unemployed and didnt file which is why I had my mother co-sponsor but the lady said that she needed a letter from the IRS stating that i didnt file for taxes. My fiancee was given a letter that says Immigrant Visa 221(g) Refusal Worksheet. It says

 

To complete your application, you will need to submit original copies of the following document(s) through our courier:

2013 taxes for petitioner

I-864 for Joint Sponsor

 

 

The thing is, when I looked at the packet 4 checklist, it doesnt even list I-864 as a requirement for K1 Fiancee Visa . Only the I-134 which was provided. We emailed the Consulate but of course it will take a while for a reply. In the meantime we decided to just fill out the form I-864 and also get a letter from the IRS stating I didnt file for 2013 taxes so that she can mail it out (we honestly dont know whats the correct address to mail to either because no one told us where exactly O__o ) . I already got the letter from the IRS but as for form I-864, I want to know which do I fill out since I know there is form I-864 and I-864a. I looked at form I-864 and it says for sponsor to relative. Doesn't even say spouse. I want to make sure what form it is that I have to fill out and also what form it is that my mother fills out. Please help and thanks!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMontreal Packet 3 HELP Please & Thanks!

So my fiancee is currently awaiting packet 3 from Montreal. She has already filled out form DS-160 online.

 

I was looking into Packet 3 which i came across on the consulate website.

I called DOS 2 weeks ago and they said packet 3 was already sent but when I called a few days ago they said they no longer handle Fiance Visa cases. Instead of waiting, my fiancee wanted to just go ahead and do packet 3. Now we wanted to know if she can just do the instructions that are on the packet 3 pdf which is emailing the 3 documents, OR does she need to mail DS 230, 156 and 156K along with the packet 3 checklist. On the link it says DS 160 replaces those forms. And on the pdf it says to email DS-160 confirmation along with copy of the checklist and biographic data page from her passport.

 

I tried calling DOS but they say they dont handle fiance visa cases anymore that the NVC does but when i call the NVC they say they don't go farther than letting us know when they sent it out to the consulate so I dont know what to do. We don't want to wait for packet 3 because our approval expires in march so we want to get this over with.

 

We were gonna just email but wanted to make sure first because from what I read in the forums everyone is still mailing the forms. Has anyone recently gotten packet 3 from Montreal or emailed the 3 documents like it says on the pdf?

You use 0 for income and put n/a or none in the appropriate fields. Don't just leave it blank because they may think you overlooked a part, rather than have no info for it.

 

Your mom needs the same info (tax returns, pay stubs etc), plus proof she is a US citizen or greencard holder.

Hi my fiancee and I are currently awaiting NOA2 approval. As far as I know, she was assigned an alien registration number. We wanted to prepare in advance but I have a few questions. For the affidavit of support, I'm supposed to fill it out but the problem is that I have no income and I have never worked before. But I heard that I can have a co-sponsor, like a family member (my mother is willing to do it in this case). I wanted to know how would I fill out the affidavit since I have no income?
