I am feeling horrible about it too. If you want to call London's extortion line and pay $16 they will tell you what to do to request a new date. sad.gif

I was hoping Dave could get an interview around our moms birthdays which are Dec 10th & 11th. Originally I wanted it Dec 5th.. if we dont have one until January I am going to freak out and bawl. As though I havent been doing that enough today anyways. crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif

JewelX

I will have John call the extortion line (lol) when he gets the packet in the mail next week. Hang in there Jewel, it's only a couple extra weeks from when you wanted your date.. we can get through this!

I think they may be able to get earlier days, but only on a last minute basis, when people cancel or don't show up. That's my guess. And interviewing is an all day process just to get to London and back from Nottingham, I don't think that will be possible for Riggs.

Riggs sent packet 3 by Royal mail, with a tracking number for £0.75 extra. I don't think they need to sign for anything.
Also he went to the regular doctor today and got jabbed... poor guy...
Official medical is next week!!! His first trip to London in a long time!!
Lets hope he doesn't get too travel sick on the trains...

I'm feeling pretty frustrated with the London part of the process right now. They have now started the policy of needing you to get the medical done a week before the interview. Since my fiance lives in Edinburgh, this is NOT an easy thing to do. It means TWO trips to London...

*grumble grumble grumble*

I don't see why they only allow ONE company to do the medical, nor do I understand why only the London embassy can process these visas when there is an embassy located in Edinburgh. It's not as though the London embassy does things quickly either.

Sorry for the rant, it's just seeming like such a pain in the ####.

On another note, anyone that had their P3 sent out on Modnay receive it yet?

Since when do they want the medical a week before the interview????.. we were told on the website it was good for a year.. is this something new??

I think they mean *at least* a week, not exactly a week... They just don't want people getting the medical 3 days before the interview. Maybe Knightsbridge is taking too long to send results or something...

Hello smile.gif I'm an old timer who posted often in this UK section and have been through the whole thing now. Relax you guys that are so nervous. Mail in those forms as soon as you know they have recorded your file arrival. You don't have to wait on a letter of instruction because you know the instructions already from your friends at VJ. Waiting on a letter is for people who are clueless what to do next. You are miles ahead of that.

What to take to London:

They really, really, really don't care for any proof of your relationship.
They have told you what to bring. It's on the checklist.
  • Passports--The UK citizen only (and any UK children going to the US)
  • Birth Certificates--The UK citizen only (and any UK children going to the US) LONG form showing parent's names.
  • Adoption Certificates--if the UK citizen was adopted
  • Military records--if the UK citizen served in the military
  • Court & Prison Records--if the UK citizen has any sort of arrest, crime, etc so you can show how it was handled, dismissed, whatever.
  • Photographs--TWO US sized passport photos
  • Evidence of Support--I 134 from USC with proofs of income like Tax return+W2 form, 3 months pay stubs, employer letter, bank statements. Just pick one or two things besides the tax return. Make sure the photocopy of the tax return has been signed by the USC.
  • Marriage Certificates--of UK citizen if ever married before
  • Divorce Certificates--of UK citizen if ever divorced
  • Notarized Statement--from the other parent giving permission if the UK citizen is taking a child out of the UK.
  • Deed Poll--to show any name changes the UK citizen may have intiated (not a change because of marriage)
  • Police certificates --from UK or any other country where intending immigrant has lived
  • (and translations of any documents if not in English)

Take a photocopy of any document you want back like your birth certificate. They will look at your originals and file the photocopy you provide. If you want your pay stubs or employer letter back for use with AOS, then provide London with a photocopy to keep in the file. If it's something you don't need back, then you don't need to have a photocopy. Just a thought, but having the actual police certificate in the US could come in handy if maybe an employer wanted to do a required background check. There wouldn't be much record of you in the US, so offering a clean police record from your native land might be a nice touch. We kept the original and gave a photocopy for the file.

Most people take extra copies of the DS forms that were mailed, just in case they say they misplaced one of those, but that rarely happens.

Gathering all those skype logs, scrapbooks, emails may do well for the Filapinas or Nigerians where relationships are scrutinized, but London figures if USCIS approved the petition, the relationship was proved with that. The Embassy is under DOS, not USCIS, and their job is mostly making sure you are not a criminal, have somebody who can support you, and that you have no prohibited diseases or mental illness (as reported by Knightsbridge).

Relax and spend your energy making sure the DS forms are spot on perfect and you have a good proof of the financials shown on the I-134.

Thankyou for this post!

Another random thought for everyone - Besides MARM waiting for her Desi that is a student in the UK, is it mostly USC women waiting for British gents on this thread right now? If so - Our poor guys, missing out on the awesomeness we have going on between us!! I have to remind myself that my SO doesnt have as much support. I am starting to learn I can't get mad at him when he stops wanting to talk about the process. sad.gif

Yes, I am also learning that I can't get mad... but its so hard!!! Its all I think about, and he gets upset when I bring it up first thing in the morning before my tea... he thinks I've got issues because my mind starts racing every morning before giving sufficient time to have a cuppa and wake up.. lol... I just want him here! I think that's a big thing.... our guys may not be the quickest at getting forms done, but when they drag their feet, it makes us feel that they don't want to get here!!! well, that's how I feel, especially when I get looks from friends and co-workers that know I've been waiting so long, and its all in his hands... grrrrrr....

^^ just so you're fully aware, in two years time, you have to apply to remove conditions to get a 10 year green card, which are more fees...check out the guides for more info.

$545 is manageable when I've got 2 years to get it! I just wish I had looked more into AOS, 90 days isn't very long when your life savings (and life credit limit) is already spent with just getting him here.

well, Riggs has an appointment with his GP on Nov 11th to get his immunizations. He still needs to call Knightsbridge to make an appointment after 11/11. One form is left to be completed for packet 3, plus having the medical date on the checklist...
I also have recently learned that once he gets here, we have 90 days to come up with $1,010. I had no clue... I wanted to cry. I can cover the cost to get him here, and pay for his K-1 visa, but once he gets here, I can't afford a wedding. I've got a co-worker that will marry us for free, we'll probably hike out to a waterfall somewhere. But I thought a wedding was all I had to come up with, now with the news of the $1,010, I feel lost. I'm trying to sell stuff on Craigslist. Its all up to fate once he gets here to whether or not he can stay... I've been stressing ever sinse.

I would get a couple of sets atleast. My fiance has already been through 2 sets and still needs one more for the interview. He only had one left. From the medical to the police certificate to the embassy forms, he has used quite a lot.

Just a side note: UK passport photos can be used for the medical. They are less expensive.

Now hold on a second.... where would Riggs find American style passport photos? Can't he just use the picture booth in Morrisons every time??? So far that has worked... even for the I-129F, we both had pics taken in that booth, used the time and place stamp on the extra 2 pictures as evidence of being together (technically in the same place at the same time innocent.gif ) as well as the picture for the 325A or whatever... that 5 page thing was.

Did I miss something? How do we get interview dates by e-mail?

You don't get interview dates by email, but if you use the email code (by first calling the extortion line and managing to convince the operator that you need one) and email the embassy first regarding your interview date, then the CO can give you the information via email about your scheduled interview date if they have it on file and you have emailed them at the time when they have already scheduled it and have or have not sent out your packet 4 yet (meaning either they are going to send one out now that they have given you an interview date or that they have already sent it out and you haven't gotten it).

The best way to figure out if you have an interview date scheduled and when it was scheduled is to call DOS. You don't get charged like the extortion line charges you and you can call as many times as you need to.

Thankyou!!! I will call DOS a few weeks after Riggs sends in the packet 3... Whenever THAT happens.... wacko.gif

Riggs has had the P3 for almost 20 days now. He is still waiting on some information he needs from the council to complete the forms, hasn't even sent off the correct request for his Police Certificate. I guess he sent off the request that cost £10, not the right one that cost £30. He doesn't have a working printer, and this is seriously driving me insane. Every time I talk to him and hear that no progress has been made I feel so frustrated, I'm never in a good mood when we talk anymore... Anyone have any advice for me? I feel like I'm at the breaking point, and my dream of picking him up at the airport is floating farther and farther away from me. unsure.gif

Then I go Here, and it lists "none" in the K-1 section.

Frangellico Bread Pudding

1 large panettone, about 2 pounds
1/2 cup sugar
3 cups whole milk
Zest of 1/2 lemon
4 extra large eggs
1 stick butter, melted
White Chocolate
Cream
Frangellico Liqueur

In a saucepan, bring the milk and lemon zest to a simmer, remove from the heat and allow to cool for a few minutes. In a large bowl, mix the 3/4 cup sugar with the eggs. Gradually stir in the hot milk. Add Frangellico to taste – about 1.5 ounces.

Trim one slice of panettone so that it fits into the bottom of the souffle dish. Spoon 2 or 3 tablespoons of melted butter over it and then enough of the custard mixture to cover the panettone. Let it absorb the custard, adding more if necessary to cover. Repeat with additional slices of panettone, melted butter, and custard until the dish is filled to the very top. With each slice (and especially the last), use your palm to hold down the panettone until it completely submerged and saturated with custard. Do not compress the panettone, or the pudding will be too dense. Drizzle any remaining butter over the top.

Place the souffle dish into a larger pan filled with enough very hot tap water to come three-quarters of the way up the side of the dish. Bake for about an hour and a half. The top should be puffed and brown, the pudding should begin to pull away from the sides of the dish, and the internal temperature should rise to between 160 and 170 degrees. Allow the pudding to cool for at least 15 minutes.

While cooling, melt some white chocolate in a saucepan over low heat. Add some cream and 2 ounces of Frangellico. Pour over individual servings of pudding before serving.

What temperature oven? How much sugar? (1/2 or 3/4 cup?)

I know how you feel. We also had a RFE. My letter did state what I sent that they didnt approve and what they wanted. Along with our baby girls birth certificate I also sent pictures of the three of us! Good Luck!

in my letter it just seems very generic. just asks for birth certificates of any children, lease or mortgage agreements and anything that will show our marriage is bonafide. doesn't say anything except that our evidence was insufficient. I honestly don't remember what I sent the first time... I'm sure I included a mortgage statement and an ultrasound of a little 7 week pregnant baby blob ;) oh, and insurance document showing both our names.

I don't want to say that we have been using unemployment, you know? It looks bad... I got fired when I found out I was pregnant and started forgetting things.... I was with the company for a long time. So far what I will send back is;

copy of DL's showing same address
baby boy's birth certificate showing we are mother and father
copy of the front of credit cards showing same number with both our names
overdue bills showing my name and his name (none were allowed to be joint, but a gas bill in my name and an electric bill in his name both for the same house)

I'm going to try and get the mortgage agreement... the first time I sent a mortgage statement with both our names, but there must be some other type of agreement contract thing...

A letter stating we haven't filed taxes, and our w2's for 2011 and 2012

Anyone have any other ideas that would help???

Thanks... I thought I was in the right one, I just started seeing more VSC filers, and CSC wasn't in the title anywhere.

I am lost... I cannot find the any thread that's made for the California Service Center K1 Filers for this month. Feel free to move me somewhere, or post a link to the right topic. I've posted in other threads, but I think they're all VSC... unsure.gif

Woot. The real or imaginary UK AP curse seems to have been broken. Ours was in on the 21st and out on the 23rd!

Yay!!!! I'm very happy for you!!

And Allie!!! You got packet 3 and didn't tell me!!!

Simon got it a while ago, but he still hasn't sent it in. Someday it will happen, right? I can't do everything for him.... this is really driving me nuts.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC AP for the UK!
So, he sends off the police report request on the 11th. Then he realizes its the wrong form, it was supposed to be £30, not the £10 we put in.. apparently we got a different kind of police thing. Anyways, now he just got his birth cert back, and he's got to get a new form (with no printer) and another £30 together to send off the request... I swear, this is going to be a long long wait. I try not to stress, but now I'm thinking I need to print up every form and send it to him. They don't have a working printer, and I guess libraries aren't free in the UK... I can't think of anything to do. Plus those forms I print out need to have all the info on them already, so this is going to take a long time. Plus I still don't know how I'm going to pay for all this. Maybe at the end of the year I'll get a raise or something... I was really hoping to get him here for Christmas. How is everyone else doing?
