So whats the difference between the 2 igor lists?? The one on here says i'm 244 & the Berkley one says 239....I'm confused...lol Excited about the Nov approval though...getting closer

I have no idea what the difference is. I have only ever looked at the one on this site.

That Nov approval has me all excited...maybe the wait wont be much longer for us..but I am not counting on it.

Things seem to be moving (on Igor's list at least) :D . We've moved about 10 places in the last week so I guess that everyone else has too! Yipee... I'm suffering at my job because it's awful so I can't wait to be able to tell them where to put it and move over to be with my lovely man!

I had noticed that Igor's List was moving too...we have jumped 14 spots this week..that has been the bright spot in my week. My son is in hospital and will be there for the next few weeks...at least it is passing the time until NOA2 arrives :)

From what I understand your fiance also needs the NOA2 for the interview, which you receive after the 129-F is approved here in the US...correct me others if this is wrong :) So if you have someone who can send it to you if you are leaving soon :) Best of luck.

Monica

Hey & Welcome!

You also need to provide all the relevant paperwork for the Affidavit of Support that your fiance will need at her interview. So before you leave you might want to get that all in order.

I went and got my Police Check started here in Australia today...it should take 2 weeks to get back to me. Eric is off to his bank tomorrow to get the relevant statements & papers ordered from them.

Now to finish packing up the house *groan*

who me? lol...i'll admit it,,,i probably won't be able to avoid it...i have too much time on my hands unitl we r back together.

I check once a day here -- though in between I go nuts

We have chosen a tentative wedding date -- by rough estimations it would be a month after I get there...but fingers crossed we dont have to change our date at all & the CSC moves in a timely fashion.

I completely agree...lol And I just read a denial out of CASA with a couple who thought there would be no problems...sent tons of evidence & the interviewer said they didn't like their packet...now i'm kinda freakin out...what didn't they like??? ugg And we r just getting started...hopefully I can relax some about it once I get back to morocco...53 days left till we r back together.

I have read some stories similar on here too. Luckily our of Sydney there have only been good stories thus far...fingers crossed it goes smoothly. We front loaded our petition with some of the evidence, (like photos, boarding passed etc) and I have a binder file here that I have indexed our evidence in. Being patient & calm on the day of interview is the key as well as having all our paperwork in order...still doesnt make the time pass any quicker & the stories gone wrong on here dont ease our minds any.

It does count as a touch.

Nothing short of no internet access will stop my browser from heading to the USCIS website to check the case...What can I say -- I am an instant gratification kinda girl :innocent: :innocent:

How r ppl knowing their application is touched before recieving the NOA1 hardcopy?? Or have dates prior to receiving the hardcopy? Is there a way to see it before receiving your case #??? Thanks & hope all is going good for everyone :)

Monica

The only way you can see the status of your case is by using the case number on the NOA1 OR on the back of the check sometimes you will see a WAC followed by numbers...this is your case number. You then have to register on the USCIS website.

I spend so much time refreshing the page there willing them to start on our cases...I will send myself nuts I am sure checking the site every day  Am I the only December CSC filer who does this? Hoping for that small miracle to say NOA2!

Hey December Filers,

We had a wonderful last Christmas here in Australia. Lots of laughs but also lots of tears. I keep watching Igor's hoping to see us move up faster but its only been 3 weeks since NOA1 lol. Yep seriously impatient here.

The holiday season is hard on all of us without the ones we love and the only thing that keeps me going is that next year I will be with Eric & it will be a wonderful life we are building. We keep ourselves occupied looking at paints, tiles etc so we can start to redecorate once I am there..mini projects to pass the time. I move back to my parents at the end of January as my lease expires early February and there is no point renewing it. So I am beginning to clean things out in preparation of them being sold.

Hope you all had a great holiday season...hope to hear from you all soon

Yeah skype webcam is what we use as well...and I also logg all skype chats and yahoo messenger chats as well....Im sure by the time of her interview we will have plenty, lol. Anyone know of a good way to contain all of the chat loggs? A binder would be to small..possibly some sort of document box or something Im assuming would work.

Matt

We use MSN and Skye when MSN is being a pain in the neck. We have saved all chat logs and I have printed 3 random ones from each month for the last 12 months as well as the Skype logs. Also printing out some of the emails from over the time as well. I have it all in a binder folder tabbed so that the Interviewer can see them easily.

When I started this thread on 12/04/09 I was a little stressed at first but as our team developed with such positive and educated posters such as.....

Mapt. Reddstars, Mark and Carol, just to name a few we have turned this into the best Forum for the second half of 2009. A and J stated that the Dec.VSC forum has kept them positive .......and Jared and May injected that poem to my Team Cap't ...... Mapt..

It's like a tight group here that sticks together and don't sling mud at VSC or each other....

Keep it up people.!! This is why we are here.. Not to act childish.. But to act mature and positive.. This will get us through the next 2 months or hopefully before for the day we get our NOA-2's.......

I love popping into this thread & reading how the VSC K1's are going...the positive attitudes make it much better. I have seen some of the other threads descend into back biting etc over a process that none of us have control over...sure we could all get angry at others jumping ahead in approval but what does it achieve in the long run? Not a darn thing!

So hold your heads high Dec VSC you guys are awesome!

HI All-

I have not posted to this topic before but I got my approval...Petition was approved 02/12/10. Received text and email today from Vermont Service Center..At least the text alert does work!!! Quite schocked when I got the text and email this morning..

I did not expect to get approved so soon and was resigned to the fact that itwould probably take at least 4 months..

I am excited but not prepared..

Good luck to everyone and I hope everyone in December starts getting approved and November filers.

HUGE Congrats!

I am a December filer through CSC & was just poking my head in. The upbeat attitude you guys all have is inspiring to say the least. Here is hoping the VSC & CSC get things moving so we can all be with our loved ones Stateside

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNames To Be Included In Paperwork
Hi there fellow VJs

My fiance & I are in the process of filling out all the paperwork to file for our I 129F. We are gathering our proof of relationship and we have run into something that has us scratching our heads.

We know that all previous married names must be included BUT the thing that has us stumped is this. My name is Theresa, but I am called Terri by everyone & even my email headers say Terri B...so all our emails back & forth are from Terri B not Theresa B. In some instances they are from Terri H from when I was married. My question is this: Do we need to include Terri B or Terri H as names I go by considering they are not names on any legal paper work it is merely a shortening of my full name?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Tezzaa :
My daughter already has her own passport because we travelled to Miami this year, so the attorney said it's a good thing she already has her passport because he can't block her from travelling.

As for the paperworks, I'm not sure how it's going to happen, he already wrote me a letter a few years ago when I travelled to Israel with my child, and I still have this letter, but I doubt I can re-use it for this case ? On this letter he wrote that I could bring my child abroad and didn't write any country, any dates...

May I ask you about the content of the letter ? like what your ex husband had to write exactly ? so I can already think about asking her father about this letter ? When is the best time for him to write the letter ? now that my fiancé and I haven't done anything yet about the visa application ? or just before my interview at the Embassy ?

He would need to write in the letter that he gives you (full name) permission to take his daughter (full name) to live permanently in the USA. It must be signed & notarized...along with a copy of his photo ID attached.

Like I said I have mine already as I knew my ex husband would be difficult in regards to getting it to me in a timely fashion...so I was prepared long BEFORE we filed....but your ex husband may be different & do it quickly smile.gif

Hope this helps.

what does the embassy really ask about the letter ? and when do i have to ask her father's to write it ? and what if he refuses ?

why do you mean by "do not put any effective dates or windows of travel" ?

We are submitting our K1 next week & I have already asked for & received the letter from my children's father giving his consent for them to travel & relocate to the USA with me. It must be submitted with all YOUR paperwork at the Consulate.

Also I had to get him to sign the passport applications to allow me to get their passports, but the law may be different there.

If he refuses to sign a letter you may need to seek legal advice as to what your next step would be.

Best of luck to you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan I apply for K1 Visa whilst in the US on Visa Wavier?
To file a K1 Visa you must return down here to Australia, you can't reside there while it is in process. Rest assured you are not alone in the process as we are all at some stage of the visa process.

Best advice is to read the Guides, most importantly, this one: http://www.visajourn...mp;page=k1guide

QUOTE (Bec&Ben @ Dec 16 2009, 11:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I'm a bit confused after reading this... my fiance in the USA is now in the process of getting some docs together to file the I129F, when is the letter regarding custody needed to be filed? I didn't think we needed a letter regarding my son's custody until at later date?

My son's father lives in the UK, I live in Australia with my son (he's nearly 6) & we have a verbal arrangement in place. He's quite happy to sign an Affidavit for my son to move to the States with me.

As for the "7 month arrangement".. if it's only verbal it can't be proved it was said, and Family Law is one of those things that can get really quite messy. I'd get the Father to put something in writing.. without specifying how long your child can stay in the USA.

You dont need the letter until the interview stage, but I got mine in advance because my ex is not prompt in returning things to me when I ask....plus he lives over in WA somewhere. I just wanted to be prepared & not have him hold us up.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMy fiancee can sign her 5-year-old's documents, right?
I am in agreement with Sundrop on this one. A letter from the biological father stating he gives consent for the move is the only way to go. We obtained that letter for my children for our I129F because we knew that without it there was no chance of them being able to join us there. That said, I now have the letter granting permission for my children & my son is opting to stay in Australia to finish his schooling.

What this has made me wonder after reading Gary's post, do we need an affidavit from my ex husband to grant permission for my children to travel outside of the USA once we go through AOS as well? If so, I better get him to do this ASAP before the packet reaches the consulate in Sydney.

QUOTE (JD63 @ Dec 19 2009, 10:51 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
How fantastic Skype is. I can't imagine how it has changed my life, my fiancee says every day we need to thank Skype (except when the internet connection is poor). I take it most of you all would say the same, I'm certainly not independently wealthy enough to afford two hours of overseas calls a night.....

I totally agree!!! We find MSN video calls to be probably a little better then Skype for quality at times but no matter what -- if not for these amazing tools at our disposal (for free!!) our phone bills would be disgustingly HUGE. We are lucky enough wtih Eric's work hours & my Uni hours that we can spend most of our days on web cam talking away...makes things much easier.

There is an option to export the files to your pc and print them that way...that is how we have done it as we use Skype and MSN video chats constantly.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDivorce Papers Problem
I have been reading this off & on all morning here. Surely the OP would have some kind of vague recollection of where they married even being 20+ years ago? We had to submit copies of BOTH our divorce decrees for the I129F petition as we had both been married twice before. Somebody in your family may have recollection of where the marriage took place & you could then search the records office there.

As Vanessa said, lying will only make it worse. I would call USCIS and ask them how you would go about the process from here. Social networking sites suck as Facebook, myspace etc are great resources for finding people.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPutting a child on the K1 but can't get Father's signature
Jamie I had to do the whole kid thing for this process. I rang the Family Law Court to find out what my options were because my ex husband has never furnished us with an address, he changes jobs faster then Child Support can catch him, and is in general a pain in the butt. I was advised that I had to make a concerted effort to find him -- think Electrol Roll, Family, Friends, last known employer etc. Once those avenues are exhausted you can apply to the courts for permission to take the children overseas for immigration purposes. IF you already have sole custody granted through the courts, you do not need the fathers permission. I managed to find my ex husband & got him to sign a Stat Dec stating he gives permission for me to take my children to reside in the USA permanently. If you get the stat dec make sure they also send you with that stat dec a copy of their photographic ID. You will need all of this for Interview stage....if you have to find him I would start now to save any headaches later.

You could also include copies of the bank statements HIGHLIGHTING those transactions that show you used that account there...We have printed off our statements & blacked out irrelevant transactions. As was said previous -- the chances of your account being used whilst there by someone else are pretty darn remote.

She needs to get a Statutory Declaration signed and witnessed by a JP or Notary, stating "I hereby give permission for (your fiancee's full name) to take my children (childrens full names) to immigrate permanently in the United States Of America."

The Father will also need to provide a photocopy of photographic ID, that shows his address, which must be witnessed also by a JP or Notary.
