You're still required to file taxes in the US, even if you don't pay.

http://www.irs.gov/b...d=97130,00.html

I've filed this way for the last 3 years... with the help of my accountant. Because he did all the 'work' (the $100 I spent with him was well worth it each year), I'm not quite sure how to go about it... but hopefully that's a starting point, and someone else can shed more light?

Hi all,

So, situation here is that when I lived in The Netherlands I was a Nanny, my employers told me they were filing the taxes and taking care of everything. They're American citizens so I thought okay cool. Well, with going through this process I had them email me the tax information from 09 and 10. When they sent me the stuff she wrote on there that these are payroll taxes, NOT income tax. That they never filed those. What the heck am I supposed to do now?! I did pay social security to the US both years, which is what I was required to do, and they told me that I didn't owe the US any taxes because I had to pay the Dutch government. I don't know if I should be really, really worried about this? Or what? I've never gotten anything from the IRS about not filing and had no clue about this until yesterday. Is this going to throw a wrench into this K-1 process? Any suggestions/advice would be awesome! Thank you in advance.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134/I-I-864
Unfortuantely, a co-sponsor's income cannot be combined with the income of your wife. Your co-sponsor would need to meet the income requirement of $23,162 on their own.

Hello,
I'm a british national wanting to move over to the USA with my fiancee. She is currently a USA citizen and living in florida she also has a dependant her son, i understand from the I-864P form that this would require a annual income of just above $23,000, with a household number of 3, which naturally includes me, her and her son. However my fiancee only earns approxmitely $12,000 a year; i understand i would require a co-sponsor on this ground. My question is could i get a co-sponsor who earns $12,000 a year and combine it with my fiancee income to create a total of $24,000 which would put my fiancee just above the line. Would this be possible or would the co-sponsor have to be earning over the requirement on their own? Could a joint income of a family be used such as a husband and wife both sponsor me with a joint income of over $23,000 would this be possible?
I expect this question has been asked many a times and i'm completely new to all this, the forms themselves don't look too hard, but the I-134 and I-864 are concerning me a bit, because i really don't want to make mistakes then have to wait an insane amount of time while those mistakes are fixed.
Any information any person can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Andy

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIs this a possible RFE? Opinions please.
I can only comment about the birth certificate bit... my husband's birth certificate didn't have a 'back' either. We didn't even mention anything about the 'back' and everything was fine. I think they were intelligent enough to know that all the pertinent details were on the front. (Then again, might just be luck of the draw and who's looking at your package.)

If there is a problem with your birth certificate later down the line, you can always order certified copies online.... we had to do that anyway, as my husband only had the short form, at first. The copies came out great - nice and dark and all clear!

All the best on your journey :)

Hi all! :)

Just joined after stalking the website for quite a few weeks! I sent my 129-f package on the 21st and just now noticed 3 things. Figures after I sent it 2-3 days ago! Hah. ):

Firstly, I only included boarding passes and pictures of us together with dates on the back. I did include a passport photo but it unfortunately didn't dawn on me I should scan all of the pages, is this something that could be a issue given the evidence I've already submitted?

Another is with the G-325a form, I made a mistake that I just caught by looking at the scanned version. I misunderstood what it said with, "City and Country of Residence" for my parents and had put "N/A" (thinking it meant the current residence) for my father and somehow that's all I managed to put. So for that entire box it just says "N/A"! Can't believe I missed that..! I think I kept checking so many times over it that when I saw a box filled out I instantly looked elsewhere..

The last matter is with my birth certificate. It doesn't have my fathers signature as he wasn't there, and there was no back to it at all so I said so in the cover letter and.. put a sticky note on it just in case. My mothers signature has also faded a bit.

Would be grateful for any opinions on this matter, I wasn't sure of the seriousness for the things that I described that would cause a RFE.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT ( I - 134)

KRISTIN, THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE. MY FIANCE GETS PAID DIRECTLY INTO THE BANK ACCOUNT AND SPENDS THE MONEY ON BILLS AND OTHER THINGS. ALSO TAX RETURNS WAS BASED ON THE INCOME.

THE EMPLOYER (GOVERNMENT HOSPITAL) SAID THEY DON'T GIVE LETTER BUT THERE IS PAYSTUBS / TAX RETURNS EVIDENCE.

WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST ?

THANKS

OK - got it. At least there is record of the money :-)

Get a hold of recent paystubs from your fiance. Several months should suffice in showing consistent employment. If your finace calls the IRS, he can get free tax transcripts that provide employment and money earned. There is an automated number he can ring... if you just search 'tax transcript phone number' or something of the like here on VJ, it will show up. Some people have the number in their email signatures, too. They are free and super easy to obtain. Just takes a few weeks (1 - 2), unless your fiance has access to a fax machine and can receive them straight away.

Is your fiance paid in cash... or does he get paid into his bank account, and then do other things w/ the money?

Does he file tax returns based on his income?

If he can get a letter from his employer and/or paystubs/tax transcripts, you should be in good shape.

Dear VJ members,

My fiance does not have money in the Bank Account but has a good work and makes over $2000 a month. Can my fiance get the bank statement without having money in the Account to use for Affidavit of Support or what ?

Thanks for the anticipated response.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPolice Clearance from Abroad
I am sure that the government has a way of finding out everything.

I am sure it would have been much easier to get police certificates from those countries instead of having to explain why she lied?

Living abroad and traveling abroad are two different things though. If she was 'traveling' (like a lot of people do following uni), then that's one thing. But if she was living (like properly living!) in Oman, then she will need to get a police certificate Better to get it now then to be asked for it in the future and to not have it.

With regard to the whole aspect of lying about living abroad... I'm not quite sure. It's not like she could say she 'forgot' she lived there. :-/

Good luck... and here's to a smooth rest of your journey!

Hello Vj's

This Topic is about my friend who is currently on process for K1 Visa. She is from the Philippines.
First of all I start it how she process her papers..she filed up the G-325A form and everything needed to send here in USA. Her fiance started the application recently and all the documents already sent in INS. But the main concern she have is..on her G-325A form she didnt mention of travelling abroad for at least 5 years she put on NONE in the application. Is that gonna effect on her visa? are those immigration find out oneday that she travelled abroad. She did that so she said she dont need to get police clearance from other country and she said that her passport now is recently renew. But I think that is not going to work and she probably deny on her interview if they find out that she been from other country. She work at Oman for 4 years and she just get back last year.
Please Vj's I need your opinions regaring this matter....

Thank you all

So, as others have stated: You will need a new co-sponsor. They will need to meet these income requirements, based on 'family size' (inc. your fiance): http://www.uscis.gov...form/i-864p.pdf

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCo-Sponsor
Your financee is the sponsor, so she will need to complete the I-134.

Since she has an income shortfall, your co-sponsor will also need to complete the I-134 and provide necessary supporting documentation. I'm not sure exactly what's required for Canada but previous years of tax transcripts, recent paystubs and a current letter of employment w/ salary is usually a good place to start.

Your co-sponsor's income will be any of his/her dependents + your finace.

Edited: No, the co-sponsor's income does NOT only need to 'make up the difference' for where your fiance is short. The co-sponsor's income must be enough to exceed the entire level of 'poverty' for his/her family size + your fiance. (Apologies if that isn't clear.. it's a bit on the early side here still!)

Hello all,

Well it looks like we're going to need a co-sponsor. Lucky for us my fiancee has great friends and we found one. We just have a few questions about how we go about this. Basicly how does this work? Is my fiancee the main sponsor and her friend just makes up what my fiancee can't? And whos family do we use to figure out the poverty line we have to meet?

Thanks for any and all help!

Adam.

Im flying to jfk on thursday for my poe (virgin changed their air miles prices and I could only afford to get to jfk!). Then on friday im flying from philadelphia to orlando. Will I need any documentation for the transfer flight from philly? Will I have to go through poe again once I arrive in orlando?

The more the better! The recent letter of employment OR paystubs show that employment is current.

My guess is that if you just try to use tax transcripts, there is a chance that person could have lost their job, changed to a lower paying job, etc. Paystubs / letter of employment keep things current :)

does my joint sponsor need employment letter, if she has 3 past years of tax transcripts with the pretty consistent salary around 34,000...????

or is the employment letter only if you dont have tax returns??? i dont see it anywhere in the instructions???

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPLEASE HELP - Co-Sponsor I-134
If your friend has a good job now - as it looks like from the below - your friend may be able to co-sponsor the i-134 for you. It is current income that counts - so check here to see if your friend's income suffices: http://www.uscis.gov...form/i-864p.pdf

Your friend will need to provide a letter of employment from his employer - stating how much he makes - and provide recent paystubs.

I know how hard the whole co-sponsor thing is; we've all been there at one point or another. :-/

If for some reason your friend cannot sponsor, have Brandon go back to the US and seek a better-paying job? Assuming that he doesn't have any other dependents, the income requirement isn't very high. A near-minimum wage job (full time) would almost be enough to suffice.

I suppose I'm also a bit confused at whether you're applying for a K1 (as with the talk of the I-134 and your profile), but you mention that you have a wedding planned in Brazil, which would mean you're going the CR-1 route? Apologies if I've missed something.. it's (again) early in the morning here and I'm not full force yet ;-)

In all honesty, I think it is very rare that you'll find someone on here to act as your co-sponsor. It is a big committment for someone who doesn't know you... and besides that, everyone on here already probably has a sponsorship of their other half.

All the best and I hope you guys find a way to make everything work!!

Hey Visa Journeys,

My name is Renata, I am from RJ, Brazil. Me and Brandon have known each other for a long time, he came down to visit me on my birthday and then spent 3 months in here with me. We fell in love like I never thought I would be able to love somebody. We applied for our K1 Visa and he went back to the US, when he arrived there, he asked his parents if they were willing to co-sponsor and they said yes. He didn't make enough money last year because he was working only part time because of college. After two months waiting for the Visa, Brandon bought my engagement ring, my wedding band and everything, we were preparing everything for the wedding, I had some money saved, he had some money saved and he was looking for a job, actually he had a job that was pretty much guaranteed, then we went talk to his family about the paperwork since our visa was getting approved soon. One more week goes by and nothing, his dad says hes going to work on it and does nothing finally he sits to talk to them about the visa and to ask what is wrong and what is going on, if maybe he could help them with details and stuff. That day they told him that they were not helping us, after making us wait for two months nothing could change their mind, they said no. Then we started asking everyone we know, he asked all his family members, friends, close friends, co-workers and EVERY single person we ever had contact to. All of them said no and the only two that were willing to do unfortunately didn't make enough last year or don't make enough now.

So we talked about our options and then we decided that we could maybe try living in Brazil, he returned the rings, bought a plane ticked and did all he could to be able to get in here. Brandon doesn't know any Portuguese but I could try working hard and living with my parents until we can do something. He arrived here, August 8th and we started the paperwork for our marriage. My parents were never happy with each other, they fight all day, almost every day, my mom is unhappy and makes our lives a hell. I always lived in this battlefield and I wasn't happy in here but I was okay with this situation. When Brandon 1st came down they were calm and I thought things were going to be okay but now that he came down for real, they are fighting every day. Because of this we tried to talk to his parents and friends again, we tried to explain the situation I go through and hope that maybe somebody would understand and help. Since we knew that his parents wouldn't do the I-864 we tried to talk to them and convince them to help just with the I-134 (which is not a legally binding contract) so that I could get my visa approved then Brandon could go back find a job and I would fly there only after that. I work with YouTube videos and I get paid over the internet so no matter where I am I can still get paid so that would also help us in the US. I have up to 6 months after my visa gets approved to fly there, then by that time i would have some more money saved and he would have a job, then I would arrive there, get married and wait out of status until he could file his taxes and sponsor me himself for the I-864. We talked to a few lawyers, we got all the evidence to prove to them that they wouldn't be signing a legal contract, we showed them all our plans and how much we would have saved by then, but they went to a different layer and they said that nothing we said and nothing in visa journey is true and simply denied us again. Now his mom doesn't even talk to him anymore. Today after one more fight from my parents, things went really bad, my dad beat my mom, he said he is leaving tomorrow and my mom is a teacher but she doesn't make enough to keep our house and everything. I really don't know what will happen to us. Our wedding day in Brazil is set already and also my visa interview is still set for October 18th. We got a friend that might be willing to help but he has two kids and last year he was still married, last year he made barely 20k but now he has a great job and makes around 4k a month. He can get a work letter but since they ask for the past W2 I don't know if he would be qualified.

So guys, I am desperate, I never had health problems and in the past week Ive been through so much stress that I went to the hospital with tachycardia and high blood pressure, and I am only 23. Brandon never got any help from the government, he can get a job easily if he goes back there (our friend can get him a job) and I can keep my job from the Brazil. I don't want him to live in this place, I love my country but the life my parents live is not a life, its surviving only, they have no respect for each other and nobody can be happy in here. All I ask from you guys is if anybody, from the US, that ever went through something like that could help us, that would mean the world. We only need someone for the I-134. Please guys, I have a YouTube channel that anybody can check and see that I've been working with that for years, I can give you guys all my documents and Brandon's documents, we never committed any crimes and I never ever got my bills late. If anybody out there would be willing to co sponsor for the I-134 only which is not the legal one, that would change our lives. We are desperate and I believe that maybe someone out there could help.

Thank you very much,

Renata P. da Silva

Joandjo - this is incorrect! You CANNOT work on a K1. One must have filed AOS and received either EAD or green card to work. Harpa's previous post explains this very clearly.

Don't wait to get any false hopes up of working straight away (though it would be nice...!)

Also note that K1 Visa holder can work BASED on your K1 Status!!! You will NOT be required to show an EAD. All this info is on this site! Good luck to you.

Just so you know... you won't be working two weeks after you get married :) You will have a bit more time than that.

You will need to wait for your EAD to be processed and approved.

I will be very busy for the wedding, I am sure I don't want to work right after I set my feet in the US or even 2 weeks after marriage. I am thinking of like my 5th month there until I get my Green Card.

Just to confirm, you grandfather and uncle are 'licensed' (I don't think that's quite the right word though...) to perform marriages?

You can work as soon as you file AOS and you receive EAD. If you choose not to file for that, you can work as soon as you get your green card. It will be less than two years.

Yes, your finace can visit you in the Phillippines. Might be a good idea to ensure that someone is able to check his mail, depending on when he leaves. You want him to be able to respond, if you would happen to get an RFE. Make sure he's able to get all of his financial documents in order, too, for the I-134.

My fiance can't stand waiting for my visa to be released. He's mailing the application this week everything looks okay, still just finishing things up.

He wants to spend Christmas and even months here in the Philippines until I get my fiancee visa, would that be okay? Does he need to be physically in the US to anticipate any mail or notification from USCIS?

We are planning to get married in San Francisco, CA, because I have relatives there that could help us get married, (my grandfather and uncle can lead the ceremony, he lives in Cleveland, OH), should we anticipate extra paperwork or a little problem if his residence and the wedding venue are on different States?

I still don't know If I will like it in the OH after marriage. I cannot work for 2 years and that's extremely boring for me. OH is very cold and I can't handle coldness and boredom at the same time. Can I move back to the Philippines after marriage and still waiting for adjustment of status?

Copy of the NOA2

Tomorrow will be 11 days I think. If they don't show up tomorrow, I'm going to have to try and redo them I guess, as his interview is too soon to wait it out.
PS: Unrelated question - do I need to send the original NOA2 or will a copy do?

Oh, and yes, I did put his mobile number on the outside...

Cross your fingers!

If you do re-send, look into an option where you can see overseas tracking. I've used USPS & FedEx before and have always been able to see when things are delivered, signed, etc. overseas.

Yes, I got a tracking number. The track & confirm online only goes through its departure from the USA - and I called the 1-800 number, they said they'd do an inquiry, but that it would take 1-5 days (we dont really have 5 days).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1: Am I allowed to bring my dog?
Depending your dog, you can fly with it under your seat. Don't necessarily trust all the info on the airlines' web sites; better to ring and speak to someone directly.

In February of this year, you were still able to take small pets on board with United. (even though their web site stated otherwise at the time) I think it cost me around 80 GBP. Well worth it :)

Good luck :)

My dog is a Black Russian Terrier, a fairly large breed. But when I brought her home from Moscow, she was still a small puppy.I flew Delta and on that flight they allowed me to take the dog with me in the plane. It only cost a few hundred dollars. She was in a flexible carrier that fit under the seat. Of course she was in my lap for most of the ride. And many passengers wanted to pet her so she went around the plane for a few hours even though the attendants did not really like it!. when I got to JFK, I showed them all my papers, which were in Russian and they could not understand then, so they just told me to make sure she gets all her shots and let me go. Took about 10 minutes.

You'll also have to pay for a full vet exam for your dog in your home country. You'll also need a fit-to-fly letter, copy of jabs, etc.

I brought my cat; it was fairly straightforward. Cats don't require quarantine. I'm not sure if dogs do, so that's something to look into.

Yes you can bring your dog. An internet search will help you with the requirements. The airline will charge a fee to bring the dog.

You will still check 'allowed to work.'

When your SS card comes, it will be stamped with something that says 'Work with DHS Authorization only' or something of the like. You won't be able to work until EAD.

Thanks for your responses! So, what I'm hearing, Barbar, is that you didn't give a reason for needing a SSN and weren't asked for one?

Dave&Roza, I see that you said "On the SS-5 form you check legal Alien allowed to work when applying for the SSC." Did you mean that you checked that AFTER applying for AOS, EAD, etc? I didn't think K-1 visas allowed the alien to work until applying for an EAD? We're not getting married until the end of November and will wait to apply for AOS, EAD after that. My fiance's 90 days will be up about 30 days after the wedding (so we won't have his EAD) before the I-94 expires, unfortuantely...

Almost!

Once your case is transfered from the NVC to London, you will get your new case number (the LND number). You don't need to do anything to 'get' that case number... (besides call the DOS if you'd like to receive it earlier...)

Once London has 'issued' your packet three (the DOS can tell you this, too), you can book your medical. Don't attend the medical until your packet three has been issued, as you might not yet be in the system. You don't want your medical results getting lost anywhere :)

Just to clarify. I need to fill out all the paperwork, all the DS ones that they have asked for, in order for them to give me the case number so that I can the case number I need in order to book the medical?

Ive got my police document already sorted

Great!

Packet 3 for London is available online: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html The only thing that the Embassy will send you is a piece of paper with the URL to that link.

It would be a good idea to start filling out the forms there and getting the neccessary information from your fiancee for the I-134 (recent paystubs, tax transcripts, letter from employer).

You can call the DOS for updates; as soon as London as "issued" your packet three, you can send the forms off.

My fiancee and I have the initial approval from the USCIS and right now we are both just sort of sitting around and waiting. Atm, as I understand the process, the visa package needs to go through the NVC then onto the consulate in London (I am British), do London contact me once they have received the paperwork or do I need to ring them about it so that I can start the process of arranging a medical and getting an interview date?

Thanks.

Once he becomes a permanent resident he must register for the draft if he is between 18-26 years old. Nothing to it. google "SSS"

It was good for us as it earned our son a permanent deferrment from compulsary Ukrainian military duty.

I'm looking back at our copies... we didn't write an address on either of them (for K1 or AOS); I'm not saying that's 'right', but we went through the K1 all right...

I think they just care about getting their money?!

Hello everyone, I have been using the website for about a month now using the guides and reading the forums. We are about to send in our I-129F and I guess the nervousness that I made a mistake somewhere has finally gotten to me. So I wanted to check with you pro's about something before sending in my package.

I read all the guides, and the I-129F guide form. But when I purchased the money order yesterday there is something I am not clear on.

I know I pay to U.S Department of Homeland Security, and I know I put my name and my address on there. But directly under the pay to on the postal money order is a spot for another address. Its a very small line and I dont think I could fit The Texas Lockbox's full address there.

Considering I am putting this in the express mail folder with all the paperwork, is it even necessary to fill out that address?

Thanks for the help!!

A Very nervous man

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresExpatriating after the fact?
The UKBA web site has information on this... as well as uk-yankee.com

It's similar to U.S. immigration; the only thing that would make it 'challenging' is financial requirements. If you're both here, I would suppose it would be hard to show that you'd be able to sustain yourselves in the U.K. (I've heard it's not as strict... but haven't looked into it deeply, as I've personally had enough of the UKBA for a lifetime :) )

I wasn't sure how to name this thread because I'm asking a weird question.

My fiance and I are going through the K-1 Visa process and our I-129F was just approved. He's moving over here to the US, where we plan to get married and live for a good while, etc. My question is, if he moves here and becomes a citizen, will it be very difficult for us if we decide we'd rather live in the UK in the future?

I'm just not sure how all of that works or how to go about searching for that particular info on my own, so I'm curious. Any help would be appreciated. :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresconfused about G-325
I think you might be looking in the wrong place.

It clearly states G-325A here: http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide

Thank you very much.

but it says g325, g325a, g325b, then g325-c.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresChristian ceremony, symbolic not legal
If you are not married and it was not legal, there is no need to even mention it at.

You don't want to try to complicate your situation any more. If you want to include pictures of you (which are secondary), why not send others that aren't from that ceremony?

his answer.. maynot be the same for you.. he might be asking if its OK before he does it... if they say no.. then he won't..

you, have already done it.. hope this action of yours does not affect your application..

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVery Basic K1 Question(s) Regarding Affadavit of Support
I thought the above answers were clear.. but in case they weren't:

1. do I physcally send the I-134 at the same time with my I-129f package? NO YOU DON'T. YOU WILL SEND THIS TO YOUR FIANCE IN THE FOREIGN COUNTRY.

2. What is the difference between an I-864 and an I-134? MOST CONSULATES USE THE I-134. THERE ARE A RARE FEW THAT USE THE I-864 FOR K1. YOU NEED TO COMPLETE YOUR PROFILE SO WE CAN TELL WHICH EMBASSY YOU'LL BE DEALING WITH. :-)

3. Will I need to use both the I-864 and the I-134 at some point(s) in the future? 99% CHANCE YOU WILL USE THE I-134 FOR YOUR K1. ONCE YOU ARE IN THE US AND MARRIED, THE I-864 WILL BE USED FOR AOS.

Good luck! :)

Thanks for the quick responses... ! I must be really dense because I can't understand them.

Let me re-try my questions:

1. do I physcally send the I-134 at the same time with my I-129f package?

2. What is the difference between an I-864 and an I-134?

3. Will I need to use both the I-864 and the I-134 at some point(s) in the future?

All information is greatly appreciated!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVery Basic K1 Question(s) Regarding Affadavit of Support
1. You will provide your fiance/fiancee with the I-134 later on. Depending on your embassy, your fiance/fiancee will either 1. take it to his/her interview or 2. post it in with his/her packet 3. No need to provide at this time with the initial I-129F.

2. Most embassies require the I-134... I can't seem to see a country in your profile. You will need to provide the same evidence regardless of the form (letter from your employer and/or recent paystubs - both if you can and tax transcripts.) Basically, it's used to show that you can support your other half upon arrival. In terms of 'legalize', you will definitely file the I-864 for your AOS once you and your other half are married. That will be a binding legal document.

3. I've never heard of this. You will provide the letter of intent, as you mentioned, and evidence of meeting... but there's no requirement for that letter, to my knowledge.

Ok, I'm very new to all this and am trying to get a K1 for my fiancee without the use of a lawyer. Generally it seems straightforward, however I'm getting hung up on the Affadavit of Support. The flow diagrams here don't seem to mention it, and the USCIS Website doesn't provide much explanation. I imagine my answers are embedded somewhere in this website, but am struggling to find a clear answer...so here I am!

Questions:

1. Although the USCIS site for I-129f's doesnt' say it, I believe a K1 must be accompanied by an Affadavit of Support. So my question is: Do I send the Affadavit of Support *with* my K1 application, or does it get sent later in the process?

2. The USCIS site references 2 forms for Affadavit of Support(s): the I-864 and the I-134. Which to use? The I-864 is a little less stringent, for example the I-134 requires a letter from my bank and my employer. Doable, but a pain. I-864 just seems to want copies of everything.

While I'm at it, another unrelated question:

3. Someone mentioned that besides our Letters of Intent to Marry, I should include a longer letter expressing my love as well as a history of our relationship. That would be to supplement all my other evidence (Plane receipts, photos, etc). Is this a good idea? I'm taking a lawyer's approach, i.e. provide what's asked for and nothing more. Sometimes the extra stuff will work against you.

Any information will be greatly appreciated!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIm a muslim and my soon to be husband will file K-1
1. You need more evidence of having met in the last two years. You need something like boarding passes, hotel receipts, trip itineraries, etc.

2. I would never submit pictures of nikah. This can be construed as already being married. The K1 visa is for individuals who wish to move to the U.S. and THEN get marries.

3. If you want to get married in your home country, do that. Then file CR-1.

Have you met him in person yet?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEMPLOYMENT LETTER FOR K-1 INTERVIEW
I'm assuming you're the beneficiary based on how your questions is phrased - so no - nothing required from you. Just your fiance's (USC) employment letter/paystubs/tax transcripts.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPort of Entry
It really depends... for my at-the-time-fiance/now-husband, it took him honestly.... no more than 15 - 20 minutes (review in my signature). Other people... it's taken 3 - 4 hours.

You should be fine, but I think it will depend a lot on what terminal you're flying into, what time of day, if there are a lot of other flights landing around that time, etc.

Yes,,, it is more then enough time... Although LAX is my least favorite POE...
LAX as a whole is a royal inefficient pain in the ####.

Good luck!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBit scared now, advice needed
In terms of additional 'proof', as others have mentioned - not required by London. My now-husband came arme with a small briefcase full of stuff. They only cared really about the I-134 + paperwork, and asked him like 3 questions - so much stressing for nothing, he thought :)

Good luck xx

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS
VisaJourney.

VisaJourney is the web site you are on.

What is VJ?

sergnavi,

Was your fiance born in another country, by any chance? Even if she has UK citizenship but was born elsewhere, this could sometimes cause the person to go into AP.

Hang tight; hopefully not too long but there's no way of saying.

HI,
I am a U.S citizen and got engaged to my fiance who lives in London UK. I applied for her K1 Fiance Visa in Summer of 2010. She finally got her interview on June 16 2011. I went thru a good lawyer in Atlanta. After her interview she was told that they need more time "ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS". Its October 15, I have emailed the U.S Embassy in London few times via phone and email. We keep getting same reply back that it will just take time. I have moved here in London and our "patience" is so so running out. Does anyone know how long can Administrative Process take?? Is there anything we can do to expeditaite? Please Please help!! Thanks.
