hello

I had my medical yesturday and thought i let everyone know what happened

.

Woke up at 3.30am to get ready i didnt really feel nervous jus scared i might have left something, but lucky i didnt

. My dad was driving me down to london so the hole family came too lol. We set off at 6am we got half way down an stopped at a cafe for some breakfast. We arrrived at the underground at 11 am which was in woodside park london, we left the car there and got the underground to Bond street. I had a hour and a half before my appointment so me and my family did some site seeing of london, I hadnt been to london since i was a little girl so it was great, we took the underground to oxford circus, had a quick look round there , then we got the underground back to bond street, from there we went to marylebone lane which took us up to bentinken street, at first we walk straight past the knightsbridge doctors, they is no sign out side so nothing stands out, anyways i got there at 1pm, i was buzzed in and it was the door on the right ( flat 4 ). I went to the reception, i told then who i was , the lady asked me for my passport, questionnaire, vaccination records and photos, i then was asked to wait in the waiting room, about 5 mins i was asked to fill out this questionnaire which was the same as the one i brought with me just set out a little different and i had to sign also to say i agreed on having the blood tests done. I was called at 1.30pm and taken to discuss what vaccination i needed, which was the MMR and and HPV, the lady asked me if i wanted to have them done there or wait, i said i was going to wait,( as the MMR i can get for free on the NHS), so she jus said she sign me off, she then took me to another waiting room which i was in there for about 10 mins then i was called and taken for my chest x rays, i was asked to take off my top and put this gown on, then i was told to stand agaist this metal plate , had my elbow stuck out and and my hands pushing in to my waist ( abit like a chicken lol) then i had to hold this thing in my hands, then he asked me to take in a deep breath and hold, after that i was told to keep the gown on and go back to the waiting room, i was waiting for about 15 mins then a female doctor called me, she asked me about the questiones i answered yes to on my questionnaire, i had answered yes to question 1, 4, 12, 20 so she asked me alittle on Q1 & 4 and then she moved one to Q12 which was about when i was caused for being drunk and disordly in 2004, she wanted me to explain what happened so i did and then she said because i had this incident and it involved alcohol and america so hard up on things to do with alcohol ( which made me now nervous on what the embassy is going to say and do), that i had to have extra 3 blood tests to check that i didnt have a drinking problem ( not that you couldnt tell by just looking at me lol i dont really drink so much any more) which cost me extra £40 for the extra blood test, she then told me the limit for a women drinking is just 1 drink and that it also gose on your height , she then she was asking me how much do i drink a week? how many do i drink when im out? dose my fiance drink and how much? when was the last time i had a drink? she kept going on about how u shouldnt drink alot and telling me not to argue with the police ( which i had not argued ) so i was confused why she was acting like i had done, she was more interested in this caution then anything else, she then asked me my height and told me to weigh my self ( i had to tell her, she didnt get up off her chair to look ), then she told me to lay on the bed, she checked my heart, blood pressure, looked down my throught, shined a light in my eyes, looked down my pants lol and she said yes you are a women thats good lol, then she took the blood samples. that was it over and done with, then i had to go back to the waiting room , then the receptionist called me to pay, she gave me back my passport and vaccination records, she gave me info on the vaccinationes i needed, i asked for a copy of my blood test results, i paid £230 got a receipt and then left.I came out of the knightsbridge doctors at 2.30pm, after that we got something to eat then went more site seeing to few places like leicester square, piccadilly circus, trafalger square then we got the underground back to woodside park to where the car was and set off back home. we got home about 10.30pm , i was so glad to be home my feet was soo sore i could hardly walk lol.

Total cost of the day.

- Petrol £50
- Underground Tickets £5 each that was for the hole day .
- Medical with extra blood test £230
- Food £15

I found the medical to be rushed and its way to much money for what they do, the doctor was ok but she could of been more polite, but the overall day was good:)

also on the DS-157 Q 9, i have to list all the countries i have entered in the last 10 years , i went to germany when i was at school but im not sure which year it was, im kinda in between 1998 or 1999? im unsure what to do ? how accurate do they want it. ?

Definitely take all documents like the subject access to the interview.

They probably at least want the right year. Is there anything that you can remember that would help you? Maybe some news stories that you could google? emails you would have sent to people that you could look up?

iv asked friends who went but they aint sure they guessing 1998 to 1999. iv no pictures . iv put in 1999 but im frustrated if i should leave it or do it again. im soo sick of these DS forms the amount of times iv filled them out, iv a folder full of the ones that iv found mistakes on lol , its driving me nuts

well i hope so anyways seen as im traveling from north yorkshire to london, which is about 5 hours drive. I have photos but i dont really like it was thinking of getting them done again. dose any body know good place in london to get photos?

I hope not, i have my vaccination records and my doctors just attached a compliment slip to it. It has your name, DOB, NHS Number etc etc so it doesnt look like something you can just fake.....plus my vaccinations go all the way back to 1983 how the hell would i remember these!

I havent yet got my police clearance bk, its been a week since i sent it.

I could be wrong but if it is not on your police clearance dont mention it unless the embassy does, take the info you have just incase its needed.

My interview was on Thursday 5th November 2009 at 9:00am apparently....

So on Wednesday I checked my forms about 100 times, got my Mum and Dad to check them, got my American boss to check them, faxed them to my lawyers to check and also to my fiancee....Phew!

Around 7:45am. Get on the tube and get to the embassy around 8AM by which time I am feeling less sick and have managed to eat a cookie and some water.

Headed over to the nice lady with my letter and passport, and was waved in to Security. There were about 10 people ahead of me. I enter the actual embassy about 8:15AM and try to read my book, but its no use....I am just staring at that screen for 2 hour.... Honestly I didn't move. When I did get called up I almost had a heart attack "I-856 to window 13". Handed over my documents of which I had 2 of everything and photocopies... And got a "Good girl"

from the embassy personnel. Paid for my visa at the window next door and sat back down with my pink courier sheet. *Sigh*

By this time its 10:20 and I am running through in my head all the interview questions, and trying to adjust my outfit so its perfect.... by 11:20 I am feeling very hungry and am still staring at that screen, haven't even touched my books! All the I numbers were called up...it got till 12:20 and I was about to go ask someone what had happened and my name got called over the intercom....Needless to say I almost feinted thinking there was something wrong, and as I walked up to window 15 I was going over everything in my head. Only to be greeted by a nice red haired lady to asked me to swear everything was true, after taking my fingerprints, to which my answer was "Yeeeep!".

She asked me the following questions
"Where did you meet online"
"How long have you been together"
"What do you have in common" God....I couldn't of picked a worse response "Sleeping with one leg out of the bed and a fondness for Maltese dogs"...She laughed at me and in my brain I was thinking *KATIE...shut up....just stop it!*

"What do you plan to do for work" Key answer here "WHEN I GET MY WORK AUTHOURIZATION I plan to become a personal trainer and nutrition specialist, since I like the gym...And food..."
"When was the next time you met"
"Why did he leave the navy""What did he do in the Navy" My reply was "He was fireman trained, and also worked with computers...Were both kinda Geeky.."
"What does he do now at Best Buy" Replied with "Hes a computer sales specialist"
"When is he planning to go to college"
"Did he join the navy right out of high school"
"What are you doing about the wedding" to which my reply was "Hes planning it" and she looked at me shocked.
"What kind of dress have you got" And my answer was "Something from my own wardrobe which I can wear again as I don't see the point in spending money on a big wedding or a big dress when half of my family cant come, for the moment its a small romantic ceremony, and in a few years time we will have a renewing of vows and a big wedding with all my family when we have the time to come up with all that money for a wedding..."

She laughed and said "Yeah I agree, there's no point spending £5,000 on a dress you will only wear once"...

She then asked about if we had a house and I told her "Not yet, I am really fussy about wardrobe sizes since I have a lot of clothes and shoes from my modeling work.... So I have to be there to see the wardrobe" And she laughed again....I honestly didn't know what was coming out of my mouth but it kept making her laugh so I just kept going!

. I think its my Nerves....

Then she said "Well I am approving you visa, you will get it in about 3-5 days, you can go and pay the courier"

And then I asked her where the nearest phone box was as I needed to call my Dad to let him know, as he was walking by the embassy every hour to see if I was there, or in a Internet cafe!

Paid the courier and skipped out, to find my dad near by! Yayy! Turns out he now knows all the guards at the embassy as he was coming by every 45 mins looking to see whether I was out

and gave them a wave goodbye and we were off to the Spaghetti House!

Fantastic food, highly recommended for a celebration after visa approval.

As for any tips I have:

Dress smart, I felt so much more confident knowing I had a nice dress on, Bright purple tights, some very nice pointy shoes (They did hurt but it was worth it) and a purple leather bag. Everything matched and because I felt good, by the time I hit the embassy it started to make me feel a bit more confident.

EAT! I wish I could of eaten more. The food place in the embassy closed really early

Lastly, realise it may be a long wait, but it goes by so quickly, I think the magic screen has hypnotic powers...

The medical is good for a year, so you can book it and get it now, The Docotrs will notify the Embassy direct of your results. Good Luck on your journey!

hey yorkshirerose22, we had the same problem as you. We received our NOA2 in August and never received packet 3 either. My UK fiance called the embassy last week and they said ours was sent sept 15th but he never got it. I'm guessing the postal strikes (grr!), so he was given the internet link to get to the forms. I'm sure that was the case with yours as well.

Hello, I have already filled the forms out, jus waiting on my police clearence n paperwork from my fiance. Im worried if we didnt recieve our package 3 and it to do with the postal strikes, what else are we not going to get. plus we have to send out forms n stuff to them , they may not recieve them either. Its very frustrating the problems it may cause. is they any other way to for the embassy to get our forms??

Have you tried calling the embassy? I know it's expensive, but it's worth. Did you ask then when it had been sent off? Cause if London sent if off in September, it could be that they are waiting for you. Packet 3 is only a letter with links. It used to be called Packet 3, cause they used to send you the form you need, but now you can download them on-line, this is what they expect you to do.

I suggest you call DOS again and ask if the packet has been sent or not. If it's been sent out and they are waiting for you, just go ahead, fill out and print out (how ever make copy's you need to send) and sent it. Get your LND case number and get the medical booked. In UK medical is valid for 12 months.

I know how you feel, I called DOS everyday until I received my packet, it took 14 days I think?

I have filled the forms out and im waiting on my police clearience. we jus got worried becouse we hadnt heard anything or recieve anything. my fiancee rang the DOS n they said my package 3 was prepared to be sent on september 16th so sounds like they recieved our I-129. but iv not recieved anything. But if we can do it anyways with out the package guess it dosent matter.

if DOS says that London sent you packet 3, you don't need to wait for it to come in the mail (sounds lost!) It's just the link that is on the embassy info page here. Once you have everything, go ahead and book your medical and send things back.

Its been months since my I - 129 was aproved n sent to london and i still havent received my package 3 . My fiance rang the NVC and they said the package had been prepared to send on the september 16th and that i should have recieved it.. so something has gone wrong somewhere. we are haveing alot of postal strikes, dont know if thats something to do with it? Is anybody else not recieved there packages yet?? we now have to do some chasing up at the embasy.

Its so frustrating waiting

Hello to all you lovely ppl

This is my first time posting and all new to me

. Iv a few things im unsure about.

Is the receipt number our case number? on the nortification of application readiness form it ask for date of travel, date of wedding and date of medical. whats if u dont have that info?? also in the list of documents is say deed poll.. what dose that mean?

I have filled out the DS forms ready for when i get my package, and on my employment section i have fill out that im unemployed but in the last week i have got a job but still waiting on my start date.. Do i have to refill out the form to say iv now got a job?

I would apprieciate any feed back if possible

Just have to finalise our wedding plans which we only have 2 months to do it in lol oh should i say my fiance dose bless him.

Its so exciting carnt believe we have done it, we got past this stage and now can be together

, one point never thought we would get hear , so much waiting ect.

Visa Journey has been a great help, everything went really smoothly we havent had any problems along the way.

Wow, just got back in town and it's so nice to see the new approvals and interview dates! Congrats to all

Just a quick POE review for everyone...

First off, the flight from Gatwick was okay, and there was a bit of excitement We sat on the tarmac for an hour as 2 passengers were removed from the plane then we were off for home. The winds in Charlotte can be quite brutal and I nearly lost my lunch as we were touching down, and I fly a lot. The cabin was applauding the crew, which I've never seen before. Wow...just, wow.

POE - We both queued up in the non-USC line and filled out the 'White' I-94 form while in line. The people on the plane kept shoving the I-94W 'Green form' in our faces and wouldn't give us the white one, saying we didn't need it. Grrr...

There was a woman checking documents at the front of the queue and I explained that I, the USC, was escorting my fiancee back from England and was hoping to accompany her through immigration since I was the visa sponsor. She agreed to allow me to move to the booth to check in with my fiancee. The officer took our passports, asked the standard questions about what we brought in as he was looking at the customs forms. We explained that my fiancee was entering on a K-1 visa, he didn't' bat an eye and took the xray and brown envelope then handed the xray right back. He opened the envelope to verify it's contents and told us that if anyone asks why it was opened to tell them he did it. At that point I noted his name badge and booth number just in case. She was fingerprinted, photographed, given a number and told to exit to to an area and present the number to an official there. He took my fiancee's passport and envelope and sent them off with someone.

We both were allowed to wait together with our luggage in this area while everything was being processed. During this time I was called by name and asked why I was there. I said I was traveling with my fiancee and she said ok, then disappeared around the corner. Then another man walked by and congratulated me on my marriage and I said, thanks but we're not married yet. He laughed and said, oh right!

Another very nice woman called us over and explained the one entry bit and recommended we file for AP and a SS card for her asap, went over a few more things and told us we could gather our luggage and proceed out. We smiled as we realized that was it, we're through! A very good experience overall, no hassles and very professional people, especially the last woman, she was just as nice as could be and very informative. The queue was quite long and the whole process took about 1 hour 45 minutes. The worst part was the landing in Charlotte. Luckily our connection wasn't for another 2 hours after that, so I treated Claire to a pulled pork sandwich with slaw on top (Carolina style) and fried dill pickles which she loved!

We're home now and catchin up on sleep!

Reading this is helpfull, soon it will be my turn

now i know what to expect.

I hope it gose smoothly me , ill be so nervous lol. I i was nervous just when it was for a vacation lol

hello every one

I recieved my package 4 today, it says if any body coming with u like your fiance you have to send them your fiances full name so they can get access to come in to the embassy.

Has anybody else done done the same? Im unsure how im ment to send his name?
Should i send it back on a copy of the package 4 letter?
