Congrats...you should get a case complete any day now...when did you send in your DS230???...I should receive all my hubby's docs tomorrow...had him mail it to my job so as soon as i get it i can go to the post office and send it next day delivery so they can receive it by Friday...I really want an early July interview...I hope i get it.... innocent.gif

I sent it all by mail on last wednesday. They finally received it in the office on Monday cuase they originally delivered it on a Saturday and of course they are closed that day. If you don't want to pay to the next day delivery you could just send it Priority mail for abot $5. NVC won't really work on your case til Monday anyway if it gets delivered Friday.

wow.gif Marlita, you took off like a bullet girl. laughing.gif You are almost at the end of this long and dreary road. Doesn't it feel good? Next week you will be jumping for joy and have us all up in arms about hearing your case complete. good.gif

I'm hoping the JA nightmare will be quick. I am so glad that NVC handles all the paperwork and interview scheduling. Jamaica is just a hot mess when it comes to organization.

Now I need to figure out how and where my husband can get his vaccines for cheap in JA, cause the prices for the medical are really high.

Marlita, he can go to any health clinic. Remember that JA now has fre health care. Mike got his from the clinic and did not have to pay anything. Depending on his age he will need the MMR, Tetanus and probably the varicella. Don't let them give him the polio. It is for babies. Good luck.

Go to the department of state wesite and search for immigrant vaccines and you will see the list. I will try to get the link for you. I had gotten it from JaTam but I think I deleted the PM she sent me. You can PM her for hte link too.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC Automated Line Drives me CRAZY!!!!
QUOTE (Marlita @ May 5 2008, 08:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I called NVC automated line today....hadn't called in about a week....it said that" The NVC has reviewed your packet of forms and found information missing or incomplete. The NVC has sent checklist letter on 4/30/2008...." So this sent me in a tizzie!! Thinking I had some missing info on my I-864 since that was the last documents I sent and the stickie above listed this messages as an AOS RFE. I started panicing about what tax forms I didnt send or not writing my case number on forms or blah blah blah. So I call NVC, get and operator and she tells me only thing missing is my DS-230 and the AOS packet and forms were all cleared and complete. JEESH!!!! So I guess it was what you guys call a "false RFE". The DS-230 was sent using the shortcuts and arrived in Portsmouth today so they will soon register that they have it.

I'm just so over all this paperwork I don't know what to do. I really was ready to go crazy thinking that I was gonna have to scrounge up some extra financial information.

Whew!! Ok so moving on.....

Marlita;

I am so sorry that this has happened, but I am so very thankful that you are at the stage you are right now. Hopefully soon you will hear a case complete and leave the NVC nightmare behind and enter in the Ja one laughing.gif . Anyway, goodluck with the rest of your journey and all the best.

Much love

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Just got DS-230 Coversheet Online!
QUOTE (Tiane @ Apr 16 2008, 04:57 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I was able to print out my coversheet online today as well, I am still waiting on the hubbys ds-230 and documents to get delivered tomorrow so it'll be ready to go then. I just received my I-864 barcode sheet in the mail yesterday and mailed it. Do you think if the ds-230 is approved before the I-864 is reviewed it could cause a weird RFE? I don't think NVC has had this situation yet, where the IV fee bill and ds-230 are submitted at the same time or before the I-864.

One should not affect the other. As per the NVC flowsheet these two items follow two tracks. The DS-230 is generated by paying the IV fee bill and the AOS is generated after paying the AOS fee bill. Your case will be completed after both are received and reviewed. You should not get a RFE if the DS-230 is received at the same time or before the AOS.

Good luck and quit worrying. You're one of the lucky ones who are able to pay online and get your barcode online instead of having to wait for the mail to some or having to generate your own. good.gif good.gif

QUOTE (Tyrobe @ May 14 2008, 08:37 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My wife's interview will be on June 5th! Geez, this is totally unexpected. I just gave NVC a random call this morning and decided to talk to an operator about when should I call in order to inquire about the interview date. She said I got an interview date for you now. I only said, "wow!" I was expecting the rep to tell me to call back later this month or even next month to find out. After all, my case was just completed at NVC on May 8th and HCMC post is well-known as one of the busiest post.

I called my wife and her heart was pumping very fast heh. We are both vere excited right now. The funny thing is that I already scheduled and booked my flight for a vacation to see her from May 30th to June 16th. Right now, we're still deciding whether I should take her home with me on this trip or wait until September trip for her to relocate to US with me as we have planned. Anyway, thanks VJ community for all the resource and guidance. I would not reach this point in this journey without that help!

Congrats to you both on getting an interview date. That is awesome. I wish you goodluck and hope for a successful interview and that she can come home to you soon.

from what I gather after talking with the embassy and then getting my interview date I think NVC contacts the embassy the second week of the month for interviews and then the embassy submits a interview date. NVC will post this date as soon as the information is sent to them. LOL some embassys respond within a day or two and some take a week or two to respond I have my fingers crossed for you by the way your post are a joy to read

Congrats on your interview! I know your excited. I am hoping for a date in July still. If we dont get one, I will just go to visit in July and then my hubby will have to do interview without me. Its always harder when the spouse is not at interview so I really wanted to be there. Good luck to you!

Hey JA Tam; was waiting for your opinion on this subject since I knew that you were one of the first batch of interviewees since Kingston became an appointment post. Do you by any chance know if a certain quota of interview dates are set aside for each visa type?

Claire I just realized you were in NVC for a LONG time! Almost as long as the complete process for some folks, so I can see why your freakin out on the interview date time.

I read on the embassy site that they schedule certain types of visa on certain dates only, so it is not a free for all, they have some sort of system to it. i am guessing cause of the nature of immigrant visas or family based visas, or work visas, or visitor visas, they just want the CO to be able to handle it. On average it was seeming like at least 2 months after NVC approval to get the interview date. I think they interview Mon and Wed only or something like that. Thats why the K1's were tuesdays and thursdays.

Marlita, Mike's papers have been at the NVC since 2000, so that is 7 years sitting on a shelf until his priority date was reached which was in July of 2007. Now I have read somewhere where the embassy takes 2-4 months to schedule interviews. That is freaking crazy. Dimples' case was completed on 11/28/07 and her interview appointment is 3/18/08. That is almost a 4 month wait, yet K-1s get their interview appointment really fast. Shouldn't it be the other way around? Boy I tell you, these people drive me absolutely beserk wacko.gif wacko.gif mad.gif mad.gif

How are interviews scheduled anyways? Do they set aside certain amount of interview appointments for K-1, K-3, IR-1, CR-1, visitors, working visas? Or do they just randomly schedule them, as the applications are approved? Any thoughts or ideas on this for you experienced ones?

CR-1/ IR-1 interviews are scheduled by the NVC. On the other hand, the Embassy in Jamaica schedules K-1 & K-3's.

Mrs Scott, I understand that immigrant visa are scheduled by NVC and non-immigrant visas are scheduled by the US embassy in Kingston. NVC has to make sure an appointment time is available for the interview before they schedule the interview, because other visa interviews appointments have to be taken into account when an appointment is scheduled. What NVC has done is they have taken away the additional paperwork review from Kingston. They review the paperwork for them.

My query is whether the embassy sets aside certain amount of appointment times each month for each visa category. For example, 5 interviews each day for each category. I hope I am making myself clear. wacko.gif

Even if NVC schedules the interview appointment, they have to make sure there is an available time that particular day for that interview. I am sure they would not like to over book and cause over-crowding.

well I'm not sure but I thought I would share when NVC completed my case on 11/28/08 and case transfered to Kingston on 02/04/08 and I did not get appointment/interview date notice until the february 6th for interview date 03/18/08

Dimps, looks like they took about 3 months to forward your case to Kingston and 4 months after case complete to give interview date. I can't believe this. Mike waited 7 years to get to this point and now he has to wait 3-4 more months? That is utterly ridiculous, but who am I to complain? I did not file his papers, but I want him here with me sooner than later. mad.gif mad.gif

I hear you Marlita, but now that NVC schedules the IR-1/CR-1 appointments, I do not think those Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs exclusions apply. I think JAtam was one of the first whose interview was scheduled bu NVC and that did not apply. Let wait and see if she has any input?
