Title says it all...God, or whomever you want to believe in MAY be looking out for me..

Mine is one of 5 flights the whole day that is NOT cancelled yet tongue.gif

Amazing...

I still have 35 mins before boarding though...and the plane hasn't arrived from NY yet, so it's still a guessing game.

The CO that did my Visa was nice though...At first I thought she was going to be nasty as all get out, but she was making jokes with me by the end...most likely because I've been one of 12...15 people that have gone through customs all day? tongue.gif

Can I ask a question though, what does the Temp 1-94 stamp look like? I have two stamps, but they are the same..I dont think that is what it is, but I was just wondering. I had read in another board that the rules for getting the Temp work stamp have changed anyway...

Anyhoo, just thought you would all get a giggle out of my weather-luck...One last storm before I go to the land of little snow I guess LOL..I'm SO not going to miss this tongue.gif

I put my fiancee as my contact in the USA as well. I would think that this would be completely acceptable, as they could be the only person you know down there smile.gif

and yes, according to the DS160, your fiance/e DOES count as an immediate relative ( most likely due to the fact you are going down to marry them, thereby they become a spouse, which would be an immediate relative good.gif )

Always go by the instructions on the form if they're there smile.gif

From what I understand, if it's any type of denial, you have to put it down. They ask the question, they want you to answer. This will unlikely hinder your visa though. At the interview they will ask what the situation of the denial was, you can tell them and you'll be on your way smile.gif

A lot of people get turned around at the border, so don't worry about it, but don't lie! Put it on your 160 and I'm sure you won't have too many issues with it. good.gif

Yup, I put my MTL # as well...I'm already down here on my K-1 (my visa was approved 3 weeks ago), so it's safe to say it was right smile.gif

I put 75 years, although it's probably an exageration...I dont think they care, it's just so that they know you plan on stickin around for awhile smile.gif

I know Ryan and Chantel were able to pick it up the day AFTER the interview, but they did have to ask. Sometimes they say they are unable to do anything but mail them, I think it depends on how busy they are. I do know that you can't get it the same day though.

I think you can pay for parking in the parking lot owned by LaTour.....I think it's open to the public during the day...its on

Wait, gotta pull up Googlemaps...

Rue de Bleury..which runs parallel to Rue Alexandre, which is where the door to the consulate is located...if you're driving up Rene-levesques ouest, you want to turn DOWN rue de bleury to get to the parking, and the consulate doors are turning UP st -alexandre..

I am the worst at giving directions!

this link will show you the consulate corner, hopefully you can see what I was talking about from there?

I think there are parking garages close by too, but I know this parking lot is open air.

Hey Angie,

I had taken pics with me - they had asked me to bring two. I know a lady that I spoke to while there had hers taken there. It was 5 days after that I got my Visa...I'm curious as to why they didnt ask you for pictures. I would email the consulate and see if they know anything - it may take a few days to get something back from them.

Hi All,

This may be an silly question, but I have a nervous bladder at times and was wondering if there are washrooms in the waiting rooms during the processing for the k1 visa at the Montreal consulate? While reading through people's personal stories of their K1 interview, i saw that in vancouver there wasnt a washroom...freaked me out since waiting for hours and being nervous would not be fun!

Thanks to anyone who answers this odd question.lol

I did my interview about a month ago, and I'm almost positive there are washrooms, as well as snack machines, and a coffee machine smile.gif You should be alright, and I was out of there in about 2 hours anyway smile.gif Just make sure you get there before the door opens smile.gif

Quick question, it's ok to get the shots without bringing a letter of approval from NVC to the Dr's office? I thought we had to bring that letter and that all shots were to be taken within 10 to 14 days of interview? Am I wrong? or did you get a interview date already. Just wondering.

No what Marlita husband is doing is getting his vaccines at a clinic before the interview medical...you have to pay like an arm and a leg if you do vaccines at the listed medical panel the embassy listed....it's much cheaper if you do it at a clinic...just make sure you have the vaccine card and I think the nurse who gave you the shot has to sign next to each shot they gave you and the interview medical panel will accept that....my husband will be taking his vaccines at his local clinic thursday...he went last week and the nurses told him all he need his two DTP shots but he has to take them 6 weeks apart...they didn't tell him anything about Hep B, MMR or the varicella....

Hey Girl, you do need the MMR, Varicella and tetanus vaccines. Depending on the age of the applicant, there are certain vaccines required. I found a link and posted it in the VJ thread. I think what is happening at those clinics, is that they are trying to make money off the applicants and taking advantage of their ignorance.

Check out the link I posted in the yardie thread.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)New Vaccinations Required?
Marlita, he does not need to get the MMR if he was already vaccinated. That is for life. He will need the tetanus and varicella. The Hep B can be given when he gets here. It is not required for immigration. Mike only got the MMR, tetanus and they also gave him the polio even though it should only be given to children. The panel doc told him he did not need to get the varicella.

Hep C is not a vaccine, it is a disease. You get a hepatitis series that covers you against Hep A & B.

I hope this helps but there is also a link I will try to send you if I can find it about the required vaccines by age. Do not let them give him anything he does not have to have. The series of hepatitis will not be able to be completed in JA and he would have to start over once he gets here. The series is over a year long.

If the operator told you what is missing and you have a copy of the barcoded letter that you returned with the DS-230 you can send it in to them with a copy of that barcoded letter if you don't want to wait.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)TRACK ALL DS-230 TO INTERVIEW
Jgay, I am happy that you have finally gotten your case completed. Not to put a damper on your mood but I want you to be prepared for the inevitable.

At the rate that things are going right now with Kingston, you might have a little longer wait on your hands. My friend's case was completed on April 25 and I know there are two more yardies with case completed April, 15 & 18 and none of them has gotten an interview date as yet. There are at or almost at the two months mark. I called DOS this morning and was told that Kingston is backlogged and that this a very busy time for them. NVC also told us last night that they are done scheduling interviews for July and to call back the second week of July to see of she got an interview date for August.

I am so upset right now and am not even in the process. If someone for the embassies would post on their website the process of them scheduling interviews so we all could understand, maybe we wouldn't be so fraustrated with the process if we knew what to expect.

I, however, wish you lots of luck with the rest of your journey.

I called the NVC line and it just kept telling me that they have no record of our case. So I finally waited patiently... twice because the first time it hung up on me! When the operator answered, she was quite rude to me. Apparently the system isn't working tonight and she told me I should be able to check my case online... well I don't know how to do that. So I logged back into the fee website and this is what it says:

Sign In Failed
Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please click on the Contact the NVC hyperlink if you believe that you have received this message in error.

Has anyone else ever gotten this message? What does it mean??

Thank you!

I see that your case was completed yesterday. Maybe your case was forwarded to Kingston. After it is forwarded to Kingston, the NVC no longer has info on your file and you have to direct all your questions to Kingston or the DC office.

Just an update. The automated system still has the above message although the letter that I received was requesting the IV Fee which apparently crossed each other as indicated by the NVC operator when I called. To this day the message remains the same although the DS-230 was generated on 12/3 and mailed on 12/19 and I have now received the packet #3. It seems to me that the system takes forever to be updated.

Claire honey, don't worry; it's holiday time, so things may be slowing up in snail mail. Just tell Mike to get the police certificate done (can't understand why these men must drag their feet mad.gif, they know what we are up against in Jamaica), so that it can be sent off as soon as you get the check list letter.
I am not sure if your question on checking if the MO was cashed is still valid, but if you still have the stub that has the 800 number for the MO company and the actual MO number, you should be able to get info on whether it was cashed.

I am keeping you in much prayer my dear. smile.gif

Thanks my dear Tam. In regard to the MO. When I spoke with the NVC personnel, they told me they had received it but not whether it was cashed. I have a copy of the MO and stub so I will so as you suggest and call to see whether it was already cashed. I also spoke with Mike today and he told me his job will be closed for the holidays after tomorrow and will re-open Jan 2. His dad had spoken to him a couple of days ago and he told his dad that he would be looking about the police cert. during that time. I only hope he does the 3 day service and not the 21 days.

Thanks so much for your reassurance and prayers. star_smile.gif star_smile.gif

Can anyone speculate (I like to) what that could/would be? Could it be the DS-230? I would be so happy. But then again maybe not as Mike is dragging his feet with the police report. Yes, for some reason, NVC doesn't actually send you the DS-230, just instructions on where to download it. They call this letter a "checklist letter." Most definitely, they are ready to receive the DS-230 with the letter they sent.

I don't know what to think anymore about the things they tell me. When I spoke to them on the 12/13 they told me a letter was mailed out the previous week. It has been two weeks now and nothing. I think they generate the letters then have them sit there before they are mailed. I remember a letter was generated on 11/29 and was never mailed out until 12/4. It's best to call NVC and ask which from the 3 is the true message.

I think there is more verification done up front for the K-3s so the process goes a bit slower. Other than that I have no clue

My simple opinion is because the K3 is more like an Immigrant Visa, the process takes longer and as the OP states more documentation and more to review. unsure.gif unsure.gif
