Try this number:

202-663-1225
press 1 then 0

I believe that is the number that gets you through to someone at Montreal. I've never tried it... but I've read about it on here.

Just so everyone knows though, the above number is the number for DoS in New York, not the Montreal Consulate smile.gif

CanadaI need some kind of clarification
I just want to stick in here, all I put for educational instutions was my University. I've already gotten P4 and my interview date, so no RFE from it?

Grade school is public education (unless you went to private), any post-secondary is considered an "institution". But if you want to put all to be safe, I'm sure they're not going to have an issue with it

Oh sweetie...

Good luck though! It's very exciting that you are going to be activating your visa biggrin.gif

my father scanned it at his office today with a better scanner - it wasn't too large, and it was within all the other requested specifications...

It was the fact that the error said "license is either incorrect or expired". That isn't a problem with the picture I wouldnt think.

I will attempt the new pic upload and let you know the results smile.gif

Hey guys,

I"m just about to send off my 160 form and the only thing that is holding me up is my attached picture. I test the photo on the website and it comes up with an error saying that " the license is either incorrect or expired"...
License for what? I have no idea what they are talking about, and there is no where on the site that tells you what to do in case of this error sad.gif Anyone have experience or ideas??

Welcome to VJ!

My advise would be the same as the others...do the research on the visa types and along with asking questions here in the Canada forum, dont be afraid to post in the specific visa forums as well - people there are also very knowledgable smile.gif

Congrats on your engagement, I hope whichever you decided, that the process goes well for you. I can't say it's an easy time, to wait all those months, but it's so worth it. I thought I would lose it there a couple times, but I made it, and talking to people who are going through the process at the same time, or who have gone through it already are really nice to talk to. Like Spirit said, if you can keep yourself busy, the time will pass much quicker smile.gif

I hear ya. I loved Keith's beer, all I ever drank in N.S. When I got here I tried many different brands searching for something close to my beloved Keith's.
After many variety packs, Lorry's daughter introduced me to Killians Irish Red. It's very similar to Keiths in body and taste. Very nice beer, give it a try if you can get it in N.C. I think you'll enjoy it

Hehe..I was so confident up to this point, now I'm worried that I haven't filled out something to their specific taste, so here are all the things I'm taking to my K-1 interview on Thursday:

Copy of my I-129F package
NoA1 and NoA2 (plus copies)
My BC and my Fiance's BC (original and copies)
Police CHeck
I-134 form (and Copy) - I have a question though...For Question 11, where it says "do you intend/not intend to support the person", Bo put N/A, but did not put "(K-1 visa application for permenant resident)" as it does on the example form does on this site...Will that be a problem??
Letter from fiance's Employer, letter from bank, Bo's bank statements
Fiance letter of continued intent (dated Nov 20th)
2 passport pictures
copy of DS-230
Barcode for Form DS-160
Medical envelope and immunization record
Evidence of ongoing relationship: plane tickets, pictures, phone bills, engagement ring proof

Anything I'm missing?

CanadaOrder in which Montreal processes interview requests
You interview isn't based on your NOA2 date. You aren't put on the list until you send back your completed P3 packet. Even then it's not necessarily exactly in order, but it's more based on the date your checklist is recieved.

Hope that helps!

QUOTE (SapphireDreams @ Jan 18 2009, 09:48 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
In terms of timing, if you're not in a huge rush to actually move, I would just delay sending back your packet 3 slightly and then aim for a late May interview.

I actually have a work thing that I cannot miss on March 2, so I'm waiting impatiently to see when my interview is. I'm REALLY hoping it is any day but that day (or the week before since its a huge event we're planning). If i'm not lucky and that is my interview day, I'm going to have to reschedule, which will probably slow things down a couple of months... so we shall see... I'm in a similar position...

I may also have to travel for work to the US before I move with a K1 in my passport, so I hope that's not a problem either...

Sapphire, I would look into this...for some reason I dont know if you can do that. Maybe someone else has had experience with it, but it would seem like an iffy situation?

CanadaFor those who had Gardasil
The pharmacy may have it on file, as they would have to scan it before you buy it. if nothing else, as long as you have a letter from your doctor saying you have had the two shots, i think you would be good smile.gif
Jenni and BoFemaleCanada2009-01-19 20:45:00
CanadaFor those who had Gardasil
Dr. Doane in Halifax had asked for a letter from my doctor, on the Doctor's heading, to be faxed to him from my doctor's office. The secretary had no trouble doing it when I asked. He wrote it down in my immunization book as well, but as you said, anyone could write it in. He wanted the date, which dosage (needle 1,2 or 3) and the Lot number from the actual prescription. This guarantees that it actually was given smile.gif

On a side note, when i got my 2nd needle, the doctor put it into my file *same info as above* for when i get the file transferred to the US - in case they need proof for my AOS interview.

CanadaPackage 3 has finally made it here!
[quote name='Rob and Mel' date='Jan 13 2009, 10:43 AM' post='2550157']
Hey all!

Montreal has finally managed to get my Package 3 here this time! (they sent out the first one Nov. 7th and it never came....)

Anyways, I have some questions regarding the DS-230 part 1....

1. The instructions in my package only request the DS-230 and the DS-160.... Does that mean I don't have to do the DS-156 and DS-156k??? (eventhough they put a DS-156k in the package....)
From what I understand, the DS-156 is no longer used because of the 160 - but since the DS156K is the one you sign in FRONT of the CO at your interview, I would fill it out just in case - It goes with you, it doesn't get sent to the Consulate

2. For question #14, Name of Spouse, etc.... Do I put my fiance's name in there or do I just leave it blank..... Also on question #9, Marital Status, I know I pick divorced, but underneath it talks about present marriage, so should I put 1 or 2 in there???
(I know this should be obvious, but I dont want to do it wrong....)
If you are divorced, you put "divorced' - it is talking about your maritial status going into this marriage. and I put "none" for the 'Name of Spouse', as he is not my spouse yet smile.gif

3. For question # 25, List dates of all previous visits in the united states.... Do they want a supplemental sheet included??? And also, it won't let you put in the days you were there, only the months.... Do they just want it to know how many times you were there or for how long you were there???
I filled mine out by hand, but I did include a supplimentary sheet and listed my last 10 visits. they are not looking for specific lengths of visits (on the DS 160 they will for your last 5 visits though). So when I went down for a week in april, I just wrote in "from 04/08 to 04/08"

I hope this helps!

Exactly what is that suppose to mean....the information I gave was correct.

Actually hun it is not correct. You only need one check done, as long as they are able to do A CPIC (Canada-Wide check). Local police as well as RCMP are able to do this.
I've lived in Miramichi, Halifax, and Lower Sackville...I only got my police check done from the local Miramichi police, and they did a CPIC check, thereby running my name through a Canada-wide check.

If you have lived in other countries, you would need checks from them, but not from different towns/cities in Canada.

QUOTE (Wis-Can @ Jan 27 2009, 03:28 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yes, if you are going through individual police stations (local police) you will need one from each place you lived. However, with the RCMP there Police Clearance Check covers the entire country. For people in Canada its best to go through the RCMP. FYI for others, a Criminals Records Check and the Police Clearance Check are two different things I found out today when I went into the office to get mine.

I had my police check done by the town police (town of less than 20 000) and asked them to do a CPIC search, and it was all good (got my Visa last week). Flames is right though, make sure you check with the station first, although MOST should be able to - they would never be able to cross reference names for cases for other crimes if they did not have access to CPIC. I had to get one done every year for my jobs, so I knew they could do it (and Chief of police was one of my regulars when I worked at Tim Hortons LOL)

Hope that helps A&M!

Depends on the service centre and how fast petitions are going through them, and then it depends on what Consulate you go through, Vancouver or Montreal.

We filed in May through Vermont, and interview in Montreal - took a little over 10 months to get my Visa in hand.
