the CO told him that as long as we get a joint sponser he will get the visa!!! The CO told him my income would have been fine if I had been working for a whole year at both jobs but since its only been 8 months, they can't rely on that. rolleyes.gif Basically then, that whole current income thing is not the only thing they are looking at, it's also the length of time earning the income. Anyways, already got a joint sponser lined up so I'm not worried about it. It just kinda irritated me a bit because I don't like asking someone to do this for us. {it's why I started working 2 jobs, I didn't want to ask} I owe my uncle bigtime now. So, it will put us back a couple of weeks, but what is a couple more weeks when we've been waiting this long right? laughing.gif Anywho...I'm happy and relieved they only wanted a joint sponser !!!

Well congrats anyway. Just get the darned thing to them ASAP so your SO can join you sooner rahter than later. Did they give a date where he can submit the required info?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow many W2's with AOS?
QUOTE (Jamericanlove @ Apr 28 2008, 11:13 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hey all,

How many W2 forms should you include for each tax year if you chose to send those? All of them obviously say the same thing. Should we include copies of them ALL or just the 1 relevant to the FEDERAL tax return?

Hey girl;

If you send the tax transcripts, you do not need to send the W2's. If you send the copy of the tax return itself, you have to send the related W-2's with them (however many there are). I think the tax transcripts are better. They are more concise and are considered official, since the return was already review by the IRS for accuracy. good.gif

QUOTE (DaniAndEnrique @ Jun 12 2008, 09:01 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This is the question 33a from DS-230 Part ll and my husband checked answer 'NO'.
Do you want SSA to assign you SSN.....we checked 'Yes'.

Now my question is, will my husband receive his SSN after his entry to US or he needs to apply again? And if he so, how long will take to receive it?
Thanks in advance!

Hey all. My husband and I finally got the ball rolling on my I-130. It got to the Lockbox over a week ago and they finally cashed the check and sent out the NOA1.

Thing is he included an expedite request with the application and to my knowledge we haven't gotten a direct resopnse yet as to what they are going to do (he doesn't check his email regularly).

What's really odd is that based on where he's from the case should go to Vermont, but it's gone to California (info on USCIS).

Do expedite requests get sent to CSC? I'm a little confused. huh.gif

Don't have an answer, but wanted to wish you good luck on this journey. Just be prepared to have tons of patience and not to stress yourself too much. good.gif

I received our appointment letter 3 days after I found out the interview date and my husband in Peru in 10 days.

That's great ! So there is no hard and fast rule for letter receipt devil.gif

I can wait for another 10 more days until my wife goes to Chennai for medical.

Then we should print one - as outlined by James Shortcut barcode printing, just kidding star_smile.gif star_smile.gif star_smile.gif

Loto; Miek had the same problem with the mail on Jamaica. I emailed the embassy and expressed my concern about him not geting the appointment letter in time for the medical and got a response to have him come to the embassy taking said email and they will have a duplicate packet for him to pick up. Maybe you can try emailing them with your concerns and see what happens in the next 10 days.

Good luck. and by the way even if they tell you they mail it out, it could be sitting in their mailroom. I was generated 3/24 but not mailed out till 4/7 mad.gif

Thanks clairern !

My wife visited VFS (It is needed in India for passport delivery after the interview) office today and here is her findings. Please note that, this is for Chennai (India) U.S consulate and it may differ to other consulates.

She has to come back to VFS on 06/17/2008 because they expect applicant not earlier than 15 calendar (not business days) days. VFS office is actually close to our home in India.

If interview letter is not received before 06/17/2008, VFS will give a receipt stating so. Then she needs to print out the July (her interview is on 07/03/2008) list of appointments from Chennai U.S consulate (where her interview happens) website to proceed for medical and interview. Also, she needs to download medical cover letter and social security information sheet from consulate website as part of packet 4.

Also, she needs to complete a new DS-230 form to submit to the VFS, in addition to the one submitted to NVC.

She also needs to pay Rs.365 for passport delivery charges and they will give the receipt for the same. They assured her she can get her passport back by courier in 2 business days after the interview (if visa is granted).

For immigrant visa applicants, there is NO counter collection of the passport after the interview. That's only for non-immigrant visa applicants.

Good luck guys!
Loto

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-130 previously filed
Hi guys/Gals:

I am a lurker on this wonderful and informative site. I am planning to file my I-129F sometime next year. (I realize that tghe fees will be estra high, but due to certain circumstances, I have to do it next year April). My question is this.- My fiance lives in Jamaica, and his father had previously filed an I-130 for him in 2000. The petiton was approved and sent to the NVC to await a visa number. You all know that it takes years for a visa numbe to become available, especially for a beneficiary over 21 yo. I was wondering if filing my I-129f petition would send out any flags seeing that he is already in the system. Or should I wait to see what is gonna happen with the previously filed I-130? I do not want this to affect or delay my petition. You have all been through this journey and know how fraustrating and overwhelming the whole process is. :help: Any advice would be greatly and highly appreciated. Thanks

QUOTE (Jesse G @ Nov 27 2007, 12:28 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Actually, they are sent by llama.

Sometimes the llamas die of starvation or get lost, especially those travelling cross-country from the California Service Center. Other llamas just get distracted by a tasty lilac patch, and a few get hit by the DHL trucks that are hauling important documents....

Seriously, though... I've seen reports (just on random posts on VJ) that the service center is having issues with the courier, and that is the root cause of the delays. Some people believe that one BIG shipment a month is all that's getting sent to the NVC. I don't know if any of these are true.

Just be patient, and don't fret over it! It will get there! good.gif

We're hoping he can get his visa in hand and be here before Christmas. I know that he won't get his visa today - but hopefully he will get it quickly.

Thanks again for the support,

Hi Pam, hope the interview will be quick for Len, I know you will be smiling Later. please lets us know what happen after you have finish jumping ok biggrin.gif

Thank you - Len was approved! I'm still thanking God. His appointment was at 11:45, and he called me at 1:15pm, after his interview to give me the good news. The representative at Airpak told him that his wait for the visa to arrive could be anywhere from 4 days to a week. I've read on here that it took some VJ's longer to get the visa in hand. I hope it comes soon.

Good luck with your upcoming interview. Words of advice that Len stated was take your time with the CO, don't let the CO rush you, be honest, and have all your supporting evidence, pictures, and documents in order. The CO really love organization.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA prayer for those still waiting.....
QUOTE (rupa @ Feb 24 2008, 02:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi Folks,

it breaks my heart sometimes to read some of the stories and situations posted here on VJ. I myself am just starting the procss of waiting and have already begun experincing the emotions that can debilitate and sap your strength as we stumble through this process. I felt compelled to say that the love that we share with our SO's is something that is very precious and worthy to be upheld, nurtured and protected. Origionally I was going to post about how tough this week has been, but decided that instead I should offer up a prayer for those still waiting and those struggling in the process, who have had their love and patience tested.

Father, please hear my prayer.

You say to us Lord that the things that matter in this life are faith, hope and love and that the greatest of these is love. For each and every person who has started this proces of immigration because of the love they share with another, I ask you for your protection over their lives, their family and their relationship. Please grant them grace for the moments when their visa's are held up and the waiting becomes stressful. Father I pray for each couple who has hit a snag that you would watch over their communication, help them to deal with each other in understanding, being patient and encouraging even when it is a struggle to find the stength. Father I pray that their defered hope would not make their heart sick, but that you would grant them a special reprive, in some special way, a break from the stress and frustration of waiting. I ask that you would use this process for the good of their relationship and not for harm, and that you would intervene where the immigration process has treated them unfarely or where mistakes have been made. Pease father bring those people who are waiting too long for their loved ones together soon, bless and strengthen their love for each other and guard their hearts from despiar. Please make their homecommings a sweet sweet moment and watch over them as they build thier new lives together in America.

Amen

Amen!!!
