Hey y'all

Thanks to Yardie for starting part #5. good.gif good.gif You sure are smart. jest.gif jest.gif jest.gif

We sure can talk. In regards to the previously asked question (though not directed at me), Mike is a gentleman by all means. Yeah, I take him things and he accepts them and is very greatful, but he has never asked me for anything. I sent him money once and he was like, "What is this for?". I told him to do whatever he wanted to do with it. When I went ot Ja last month, he drew the money our of the bank and handed it to me. It brought tears to my eyes. I gave it back to him and we spent it together on ourselves. When I was leaving he went out and shopped for things for me to bring back home. I told him he did not have to do that and he said, "you bring things for me that I did not ask for, so why can't I give you something to bring back home?" I am paying his Visa fee because I want to. He does not know that I am. I told his father I wanted to and he told me it was okay with him. I plan to send whatever I can to help him with the expenses he will be incurring. I consider this a small investment for someone who I want to spend the rest of my life with. dancin5hr.gif dancin5hr.gif dancin5hr.gif dancin5hr.gif

hi everyone ...

I am not sure where is the best place to post that

I'm really new in here, but something is not new, it is almost two years that I am with Mark , and most of this time, we were away, yes we talk on msn, skype or any other way, just it is so hard not to be together.
I am so very happy that I have him in my life, but everyday ...I am a little bit more sad.
How you all do to manage this time ?
I am almost done with school, so I'm supposed to be busy during the day, but I can't think about anything else than being near him.
I really hope I can get some help and advice
Thanks and good luck

Yes it is hard being away from the one we love. I married my wife 1year ago and today is her interview and it has been a very long and hard road. But I know the only way I am able to do it is to rely on my God. I know its hard to believe this but being away for so long is a good thing b/c if you can stay together through this you will be able to make it through anything. The time has strengthened my marriage.

Just stay in prayer to God and He will give you strength and stay connected to your husband as much as possible and give each other all your love. The day will come when you will be together and the time will make it so much sweeter.

Hey Jason, how are you holding up? I know you must be nervous as heck right now and very anxious for this day to be over with. I have you and Marla in my thoughts and prayers. Goodluck. good.gif good.gif

Thanks for replying Kimmy, my husband will call them, i hope something good can come out of this, its soo stressful dont know how long i will be here before we can finally be re-united as a family lawks it hard, if the baby is born here another stress with paper work again.

Hi Stacy;

Welcome to VJ and congrats on your preganancy. Like Kimmie says, nothing try nothing done. They can either say yes or no. If your child is born in Ja and the father is a USC, all you have to do is a consular report of birth abroad and the baby is automatically a USC. I think that is what it's called.
Don't stress yourself too much for the baby's sake. Just keep the faith and keep praying.

Good luck with the rest of your journey and have your husband call the NVC and find out about your paper work good.gif

Kimmy made an important point. Make sure to tell your friend to get her husband's W2 and/or tax returns for the interview. They may not ask for it, but it's better to be safe than sorry. They asked for mine at the interview, but I told them I didn't have it, but she let us through regardless; her comment was: "We'll make it work".

Thanks Tam;

I sent her a PM last night directing her to this post. I will reiterate it with her tonight when I speak with her.

Hey guys, I have a question.

A friend of mine who lives in Jamaica, has been married to her husband since 2004 and he filed for her in 2005 when he was a LPR. He became naturalized in January 2008 and their petition was upgraded. She is now at the NVC stage and her DS-230 was generated on March 17th. She has all of her documents and will apply for her police certtificate on Tuesday, then will DHL/Fed-ex the package to her husband to mail off when he gets the NVC letter.

My question to the Yardies whose spouses have already had their interview in Kingston. What type of evidence of a continuing relationship does she have to provide? She did not take a lot of pictures, because who knew that you had to provide these types of proofs that your marriage is genuine. Her husband visited her in Jamaica every 3-4 months until recently when they decided to try to save some of those expenses.

She has an ATM card where she has access to his account and there are transactions on the account from JA. They have a joint credit union account in JA and the couple pictures from their wedding and a few random ones from some of his visits.

Can she take the banking info, copies of his passport entry and exit stamps and whatever little pictures she has? What other evidence do you guys think she will need?

This process is so stressful on their marriage as it is on eveyone else's and I am trying to give her some solid advice and well as reassurance and support. She and I know that her marriage is real, but you never know what the immigration officers will request. I am trying to make sure that she has everything they could possibly ask for and more. I know there would be no reason for denial, but you never know. After what happen with Jason and Marla, mad.gif (requesting proof that an I-130 was filed and approved) mad.gif I am kinda skeptical about the Embassy practices and their requirements (even though we all know they are ridiculous).

I want my girl to have a pleasant experience and get approved without any hitches, so all the advice and info that can be given will be greatly appreciated. good.gif

I replied to the other post already. I did not send my husband the approved notice from USCIS. ?what way is friend filing?

I guess they are doing IR-1 since they have been married for more than 2 years.

QUOTE (JA Tam @ Mar 23 2008, 04:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi Claire,

I hope you do read this post. Aaron and I were married for a little less than 4 years when he finally arrived here on the I-130. The proof that I brought along with me to the interview, were pictures that we took over the years (they didn't even look at our album); we only had our wedding pictures and a few pictures from when my sisters visited and when we went to visit my grandparents in Lucea. I can tell you, the album was only half-full with pics. If her husband can go to the interview, it will go a long way with the Consular officers. They asked me how we kept in contact and I told her that we spoke to each other everyday (I had copies from the Western Union card that I used; she didn't look at that).

I think if she brings proof of the joint credit union account and pictures, as well as any information that can show how they keep in contact that should work. I can see no reason that they will deny them, because Aaron and I didn't have any joint accounts together until he moved here.

Hope that helps, Claire!

Thanks JaTam; I will direct her to this post and your replies. Good looking out good.gif

Congratulations again Baby Sis! I'm happy for you and my brother-in-law.

Guys our job has been kicking our A$$ for real! I went overnight from managing a team of 17 to a team of 34. It is a loooottt of hard work, but it feels good to see my department performance on the up, and I don't have to share the success with another supervisor. I will be headed to Canada in about a week. So, I may not get to update the story for a little while yet, but when I get back I will have a lot to add. Wait a minute, let me back up...I won't have a lot to post...but I will try to fit writing in when A goes to work. LOL

BTW...thanks for all the well wishes for my divorce. I can't believe that I have finally shed that dead itchy skin...I'm ready for the future...one step at a time.

Hey Jawi girl, welcome back to the yaad. I am glad you are going to get to go see A. I hope you have a great time. How has your shoulder been? How is the pain? I hope you are well.

Mind you, I am very happy and supportive of all who have had progress with their cases, but at the same time I am a little down in the dumps cause I miss Mike so much and I'm not trying to plan a trip to see him. I am trying to conserve my funds because I know that when he comes, it's gonna take a while for him to get used to the place and find a job.

I love you all so much and that you for all the sincere support that all have proveded in one way or the other.

Sorry for the vent.

Thanks SJB. This is what I was missing these past couple of days. You guys make me feel so loved. blush.gif blush.gif Thanks a million you guys. luv.gif

I am sitting here at work reading you guys posts and just feeling so overwhelmed right now, I am actually teary-eyed crying.gif crying.gif I have no-one to talk to who understands what or how I am feeling. Well......

Hey Claire.....
I am patiently waiting like you.......We were approved 12/13/07 and still waiting for a date.....However, just a bit of info......We got an RFE due to a date on one of his places of living.......I listed since the age of 17 not 16......but they told me that #20 was wrong.....I again changed it.......and sent it back in.....it only cost us 2 weeks.......but that could have been the difference between a Feb date and March date....
Hopefully good news will come soon!

Peace & Love,
Tonya

Thanks Tonya for your concern. I really appreciate your concern. Has your case been completed? How was your visit to Ja? I hope you had a great time. good.gif

Whats a family policy? Family policy versus what?

sorry, it`s a `household` policy I meant....covers your spouse and dependents in the house....Not sure if you have to have full coverage in order to have it.
