Sounds interesting, but I don't know. But if these people don't have to get an appointment, it might open up more interview slots.

I am so sorry that this is happening to you but you have to keep calling them until you get some results. You can also try emailing Kingston and the NVC and if they have your case in Kingston, they will respond to your email.

Good luck on getting some results in your favor good.gif

I called the NVC at the 603-334-0700 # and they said the case # that belonged to the I-130 is being sent to JA

embassy. So, since the I-129f wasnt sent to JA do that mean its a CR-1/IR-1??

What sould be are next move?? Can I kicking.gif a little?

Congrats Bailey. kicking.gif I wound dance too.

My question to you is, why did they tell you that the case is being forwarded to Kingston, when NVC does the document collection and processing and assigns the interview date? This really puzzles me.

AnywaYy, not to worry. Just start collecting you documents for the DS-230 and get your financial documents ready. You should be able to pay your fee online which makes things go faster. This online payment will speed up your case by about 1-2 months. Goodluck to you and yours.

Maybe I kicking.gif alittle!!

But, I still a little stuck on what I need to do since the game changed on me. wacko.gif

You can go to the embassy info on top that gives you a little info. You will need to pay the NVC $70 for the financial info and then e-mail the DS3032. This is all after the systems says they were generated. Do not send anything to them before the systems says geenrated. The next step would be to submit the I-864. The petitioner can download the form and fill it out and get tax transcripts for the last three years to include with it. Then next the IV fee bill for $400 and after that is paid and entered it will generate the DS-230. You can also start preparing the DS-230 and documents to submit with it--original marriage cert, birth cert (new long one), copy of bio page of passport, police record. This is all for the beneficiary.

This NVC Flowchart will help to guide you. Goodluck

Kimmy's right. I was actually thinking that too. I am SURE that question is going to come up.

Well well here goes as the post said "Just CURIOUS" My husband and i got married in July 04 he was then a LPR he we fileed in Oct that same year, was approved in Sept 05 (waited a long time for I-130 to be approved). He became a USC in Jan 08, our status was upgraded hence i have just completed our case at NVC April 08............thats why the wait i hope it is much clearer now.

I have his British passport with his entry and exists out of JA every 3-4 months (5 months is longest he has stayed away star_smile.gif he cant keep his hands off me i guess) . So i hope this answers any doubts you may have about our marriage being ligit.

Photos, phone cards, greetings cards, Western Union'bill (i got them all) ooh better than that i have his bank card so i take money directly from his account when i need it.

I was only curious of what might happen at the interview....you never know (from being here on VJ anything is possible)

got to go

thanks anyways for your insight and info

Kimmy's right. I was actually thinking that too. I am SURE that question is going to come up.

There is no reason for them to ask her why they waited so long to file. If you look at her timeline you will see that they got married in 2004 and the petition was filed in 2005.

If you guys remember when she first started to post, she did mention that when they got married, her husband was a permanent resident and he just got his citizenship in January of 2008. He had filed for her since 2005 and because he was a PR at the time it was taking longer. After he became a USC his petition was upgraded hence why they are where they are right now--case completed.

Like she also said she has lots of proof. He visits her every 2-3 months and her name is on his insurance and they have a joint bank account in Jamaica.

She was only asking a hypothetical question about possible denials and what the denial was for. She did not say she did not have proof. She has more than enough but was just curious.

Totally offtopic45vn.gif Here goes.

How are interviews scheduled anyways? Do they set aside certain amount of interview appointments for K-1, K-3, IR-1, CR-1, visitors, working visas? Or do they just randomly schedule them, as the applications are approved? Any thoughts or ideas on this for you experienced ones?

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaHOW ARE INTERVIEWS SCHEDULED???
QUOTE (Marlita @ May 10 2008, 01:30 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hopefully you'll hear something next week. So how do we find out when the interview is in fact scheduled? Do we have to call them all the time or do they email you, or send a letter? Also....when is the medical scheduled? After the interview is scheduled or is this a seperate letter we need to look for?

Lita, I continued to call until I got the date. They will, in fact, send you a letter (pkt #4) which will give you the interview date and time and instruction on scheduling the medical and getting it done. The medical needs to be completed at least 10-14 days before the interview date. As soon as you get your letter, let Evan schedule the medical for 2 weeks before the interview. If he doesn't get his letter and you are not sure, you can either fax a copy or send it DHL to him. He absolutely needs the letter (either the one from NVC or one from Kingston) with the interview date and time in order to get the medical done.

Mike has not gotten his letter from the NVC. I had emailed Kingston when it was getting close to his medical appointment and they responded with a date for him to pick up a duplicate of the appointment letter. He got the letter from Kingston one week later, but I had already faxed and DHL all the info to him.

Good Luck. It will soon be over.

I think she's a CR1 or IR1 since she filed an I-130. Thats the only visa that goes with that application alone.

Your sister needs to get all the forms that Clairen listed above from her husband, as she will need to send them to NVC. In addition to the above mentioned items, your sister will need 2 passport photos of her husband. She will need to write the NVC case number on the back of photos and on the top right hand corner of all documents. Then she should make a photocopy of all the certificates and send that in too.

I am trying to get info for my sister who filed the I-130 for her husband. The IV fee was paid yesterday. We want to have the DS230 done in the mean time. However I am confused as to what part of the DS230 gets done here and what part for Jamaica. Does the beneficiary need to do parts I & II of the DS230 and send his police record and everything back to my sister so she can send it to the NVC? Or does he only do part I and send it back to my sister and she sends that to NVC and then the Kingston Embassy deals with part II? How does it actually work for Jamaica? Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome to VJ. You can also visit the yardie thread in the forums section and post your questions there. First of all it depends on what visa type your sister is filing for.

For a K-3 she will need to have the documents ready to present to Kingston as K filers do not send their documents to NVC.

If she is filing for a CR-1/IR-1 visa, she will need to collected all her husbands documents and send them to the NVC. She will need to have the following (an original and photo copy) to send to NVC:-

Marriage certificate
Beneficiary's birth certificate (long form)
Divorce certificate (if applicable)
Copy of the beneficiary's biographic page of passport (page with the picture)
Any military records
Police certificate from JA
DS-230 completely filled out with part I signed and part II unsigned

I hope this helps. That's all I can remember right now, but if anything else comes to mind I will re-post and I am sure someone else will come and add to this list.

Tell your sister goodluck with the rest of her journey and to go over the DS-230 keenly.

Claire.....there is nothing easy about this whole process. Sometimes I think they wait and wait and wait out the process, all the while us telling them how great it is going to be, and them doubting they will even be approved. Then, suddenly, it nears the end and they get so scared. Moving to another country is a scary thing. They are leaving behind everything they know.....everyone they are comfortable with. I don't care what age you are, it's scary. We tend to focus on the formalities, so we rarely show fear.

Like Marlita said, it's not like they can't go back to visit or if, God forbid, they hate it.

My husband was ready to come. All his life, his (other) mother was telling him he should go to the US. And, Andre was feeling like he was missing something in JA. He wanted to come. He's done really well. However, the transition was still hard on him and took some time.

BTW....besides trying to adopt Sean Paul, we are not going to have any children together. It's not an issue.

I think you need to talk it out with him. Yes he will have you when he gets here. And, if I remember right, some family. He will get a job and make new friends. If he chooses, he will not lose any of the old. He can still visit. He will have a lot of new opportunities. He can make of them what he wishes. Let him know that you are scared too. And, of course, you will be there to support him every step of the way.

Mindy's husband, Roy, is in his 40's. He's been in the US a little over 2 years. Roy has done really well at adjusting. You might PM or e-mail her. Perhaps she can give you some insight. Maybe Roy could even talk him through some of his feelings.

Thanks JG for the real great advice. I really appreciate it. good.gif

Thank you guys for your response. I stressed the same things to him. We are having some relationship problems, so maybe that is his way of dealing with it. His is in his 40's and I reiterated to him that he is not the first 40ish years old person to move somewhere new and start a new life. I also reminded him that he will be getting me as a bonus. lol. Anyway after I talked to him some more he changed his mind and is now planning to go take care of his business. Don't know how soon after he gets the visa he will come but at least he will have the choice as you guys have mentioned to see what life here holds for him and if it doesn't suit him then he as the option of moving back home.

I also think he feels that way because he knows that my life is already established and you know some men want to build a life with you where you can attain things together. I have all attained all the material things and am past the childbearing age (a lie dat) so all we can build together is our lives. I am physically unable to go through a pregnancy because of a heart condition that I have.

I plan to be as supportive as I can and have already been, but I can't force him to go against the way he feels. I want him here with me but as I stated before somewhere, he is going to spend some time in Florida with his dad before he joins me here. I am hoping that transition period will be enough to waken him to the realitiy of the situation that we have a life to build together no matter what.

Thanks again for your frank replies to my query.

Hey guys, just saw this thread and it grabbed my attention because when I visited Mike in Ja last month, he expressed that he was not sure if he was going back to the embassy this month. He said that a man his age has to pack up from the way of life he has been used to all his life and move to a new country to start his life all over. What do you guys think about this? I was dumbfounded when I heard this because of all the plans we made and what my expections were.

I don't know if I could give advice about this cause I'm impatient when it comes to this da** immigration stuff...i tried to withhold myself from calling but can't...i call like everyday to hear whats going with my case....i've been waiting over three weeks for just a case complete and still nothing...but anyway back to your question I would definitely start calling them next week since they say they schedule interviews in the second week of every month...you should be up to get an interview date next week...if you don't hear anything next week (hope thats not the case)...I would call once a week like every Fridays to hear if i got a date...

My thoughts exactly good.gif good.gif
