Mindy is having a hell of a time with renewing Roy's passport. They have sent 2 different sets of pictures in via NY consulate and both have been returned from JA as not the right pictures......Walgreens & Wal-Mart. Good News Guys!!!

I called the same lady that had the room to rent to ask her if she knew anyone else renting and she said...SHE WAS GOING TO CALL ME...she changed her mind and wasn't gong to be bullied by some jerk! I went over there and gave her 1st month and deposit...walked out with the keys!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Then I came home and was READY to book my Baby's flight...everything was SKY HIGH!!! I checked this website called 'Lastminute.com'....Guys...I found a NON-STOP flight STRAIGHT TO JFK for $199...TAXES INCLUDED!!!!!!

As horrible as my Good Friday was...my Saturday was truly blessed!!

Does anyone have any experience about a crewmen's visa's?? I friend of mine is married to someone who came off of a cruise ship. he was told that he could never get an AOS because of the type of Visa he had...but can he file an I-130. He is here and doesn't want to go home for her to file, because that could trigger a ban. He knows of someone who also came off his ship who has successfully gotten his greencard through marriage, so we know there is a way, just not sure how.

This was in the NY Times last week. Apparently she had an interview with him for her greencard and that was when he asked her for he cell phone number and started calling and harassing her asking for sex. When he met up with her her family was close by for fear that he would kidnap her. She was threatedned with deportation if she did nto comply and when she refused he forced her to do oral sex on him. She recorded the whole thing but was afraind to go to the authorities and went to the NY times and they alerted the Queens DA. mad.gif

A friend of mine who lives in Jamaica, has been married to her husband since 2004 and he filed for her in 2005 when he was a LPR. He became naturalized in January 2008 and their petition was upgraded. She is now at the NVC stage and her DS-230 was generated on March 17th. She has all of her documents and will apply for her police certtificate on Tuesday, then will DHL/Fed-ex the package to her husband to mail off when he gets the NVC letter.

My question to the Yardies whose spouses have already had their interview in Kingston. What type of evidence of a continuing relationship does she have to provide? She did not take a lot of pictures but her husband visits her in Jamaica every 3-4 months. She has an ATM card where she has access to his account. They have a joint credit union account in JA.

Can she take the banking info, copies of his passport entry and exit stamps and whatever little picture she has? What other evidence do you guys think she will need?

This process is so stressful on their marriage as it is on eveyone else's and I am trying to give her some solid advice and well as reassurance and support. She and I know that her marriage is real, but you never know what the immigration officers will request. I am trying to make sure that she has everything they could possibly ask for and more. I know there would be no reason for denial, but you never know. After what happen with Jason and Marla, I am kinda skeptical about the Embassy practices and their requirements (even though we all know they are ridiculous).

I want my girl to have a pleasant experience and get approved without any hitches, so all the advice and info that can be given will be greatly appreciated.

I think the things you mentioned will suffice. They know that without a social security number here in the US, there can be few, if any joint accounts and bills.

Add:

Marriage certificate
Wedding pictures and receipts

And, what she has, and that should all be fine. Especially since its' been an ongoing thing for the last 4 years.

Hey guys, I have a question.

A friend of mine who lives in Jamaica, has been married to her husband since 2004 and he filed for her in 2005 when he was a LPR. He became naturalized in January 2008 and their petition was upgraded. She is now at the NVC stage and her DS-230 was generated on March 17th. She has all of her documents and will apply for her police certtificate on Tuesday, then will DHL/Fed-ex the package to her husband to mail off when he gets the NVC letter.

yeah, I even forget to introduce myself to people with my married name....its so hard. My last name is as important to me as my first in the way that its always used so its very hard to switch up from it. So I'm still debating on how and when I'll change it. Even at work, my email siggie and business cards all have my maiden name and i really don't want to make them pay for new cards for me already so I don't want to change the siggie and start confusing people. Then I was thinking of hypening my name but to introduce myself as Mrs. name-name is wierd too. I may just never change my hame til I have kids.


If I ever get married again, I am going to keep my maiden name. Too much problem to change. As long as my man knows we are married, not changing my name should not be a problem

I called the DOS today and the lady was just going around in circles thinking she was dealing with a fool. she was trying to justify the reason why I did not get it yet and told me that only the petitioner and the beneficiary gets the pckt 4. I don't talk alot in here......but 3 years ago my 18 yo son was killed in a car wreck.......He was my first born........We have been in the court system over this wreck for the last 2 years......One of our cases was ruled against by the circuit judge.......We have asked the Supreme Court of WV to hear our case......They voted 3-2 to put it on the calendar......Last week, we went before the Supreme Court and they voted 4-1 to hear our case........I was up at 1am on Tuesday morning last week, praying to the Good Lord.........It is not a easy task to get a case heard in front of our Supreme Court......On Thursday morning, I got the call.......4-1 to hear our case!.........GOD IS GOOD!!!!!!

Goodnight guys;

Just finish catching up the three days I missed. You guys are a God send in my life. I miss reading all the good news and encouragements and especially the prayers. I have been going through a rough spell lately and need you all to pray for me too.

Been working a lot since Friday to Monday (48 hrs) straight and every night I come home all I could do is crash. Been taking care of two patients that are actually brain dead and the families can't let go. One of them is one of our anesthesiologists. It has been an emotionally, mentally and physically draining couple of days. I broke down and cried today at work. Everyone rallied around and thanked me for the hard work with these two very difficult patients and each of his colleagues thanked me personally. My day ended better after I realized that even though I was the primary nurse for these patients, everyone had my back.

Well, back to me and VJ stuff LOL

I got Mike's interview date on 3/25 and got an e-mail to that effect on 3/26. To date I have not received the letter in the mail amd Mike has his medical scheduled for 4/16. He has already gotten his vaccinations and needs that letter for the interview. I am planning to send it to him DHL, and hope he gets it in time.

Can anybody tell me how long it took to get the letter from the NVC or if they are even the ones who send it out?

I need some guidance right now, as time is speeding up and I feel like my hands are tied.

JA doesn't have to worry about paying for the meds anymore, Kimmy. All the fees were waived as of April 1st. I guess we'll see if they can keep up with the demands now!



I've also been thinking about epidurals and whether or not I should get one when my time comes. I read somewhere that they make you so numb you don't even know when its time to start pushing. Is that true? Also, what are any side effects?


There are risks more than side-effects. There's a lot of action going on in a part of your body you can't feel any more so there is a higher risk of you tearing, a risk of you not knowing when to push or when to stop pushing and that has the possibility of causing problems with baby, It makes some people feel lethargic and that can mean that they have a harder time nursing and bonding with baby right away if they want to. And then there are risks associated with how they put it in. If your anesthesiologist messes up it can cause chronic back-aches or worse - after all it is a needle inside your spine.

IMHO if they are pumping you full of pitocin or otherwise augmenting your labor then it's not "natural" anyway and I'd jump into an epidural with both feet. But natural births aren't necessarily about bragging rights. Some people just don't want to the effect of being immobilized and dissociated from such a big event for the body. Rather than being about who does it better I really believe its about each person checking in with themselves and their partner and planning and having the birth experience that is right for them. Feeling good about your decisions and experience is way more than deciding between having drugs or not.

You can have benadryl for the itch. That is a protocol order for everyone on any epidural and they also put narcan in the iv fluids to stop your legs from getting too numg after giving birth good.gif

1) how much is the AOS fee?
2) I read on the USCIS website that the SO birth cert. has to have BOTH parent's names. My husbands is the certified long form but it does NOT have his father's name..... does this mean i am going to have trouble??


I thought you didn't have to go through AOS if you file IR1/CR1. Thought it was just for K-1/K3 visa.

In the CR1 route AOS means Avidavit of Support...not Adjustment of Status.n the CR1 route AOS means Avidavit of Support...not Adjustment of Status. Don't ask me why you have to PAY to tell NVC that you can support your spouse, but its a $70 fee. Got mine waiting to be sent off right now.



Lita, the $70 is the processing fee to review the AIS forms/package.
