So I asked my employer for a new one and they say "it could take some time to get a copy" ... What would you do? I have the paperwork from H&R Block - its just the actual W2 that I am missing. I have been working for the same company for over 10 years and have a letter from them saying that. (The affidavit letter). Do you think this W2 is something I absolutey have to have? Thanks! Cat Cat, don't panic. Call the IRS anf order your tax transcripts. You do not need to bring a copy of the actual tax return and W-2 if you have the transcripts. They are more concise and that is what I sent with my AOS. Go to the IRS website and get the number and call them. Mexico, Latin & South America	Yardies, at home and a farrin' (Part 6)	Well here is my contribution for discussion for the day. Alittle background before. I was married to a Ja man who filed a fiance visa for me waaay back in the 80's. We were married for 13 years and had two children with him. Then he punched in in the face and I left him. He is a CPA with a good job with the NYC hospitals system and very intelligent. He is so into politics and he ran for NYC councilman last year but lost. He thinks he is all that. LOL While we were married, I used to work as the assistant to the president of a woman's org. I always wanted to be a nurse so I went to nursing school and worked part-time. We had previous discussion about me not working , because I was required to be in school fultime to complete my clinicals. He was not as supportive as he promised to be. I kinda figured him out and that's why I decided to struggle and have a job while going to nursing school fulltime. I was very successful in completing school and getting my nursing license. I started as a psychiatric nurse and whenever I wanted to work overtime to make some extra money, it became an issue of my acting like I was a single woman and a lot of other complaints. The marriage deteriorated from there. When I left him, he vowed to destroy me saying "I made you and I will break you." We had a terrible divorce which I sheltered my kids from. I got full exclusive custody of my children and signed over our house to him (that's what he wanted). After that I was able to buy my first home and had a very successsful job. My relationships with men have not been the same, couldn't trust them. I found that I always levitated to non-professional men. The last relationship I was in was with a barber. He tole me one day, I heard you are seeing a barber. Why don't you find a man who is a professional like you and meets up to your standards?" My reply was "He is a professional barber and what does his career have to do with our relationship? As long as he treats me with respect and love me the way I deserve to be loved, Why does it matter what he does for a living? The convo ended right there. Last week he called me again, not to talk about my kids but to inquire about my personal life. I used to always shut him down, but decided to go along with the conversation. I told him that I was not in a relationship at the moment and he went ahead to say why can't I find a professional partner who meets my standards? You are a smart intelligent and beautiful woman and you should not settle for less. Saying all that to get to my question. I hope you all are not saying "get to the question already" How do you all feel about that statement? Do you guys think that you should try to get with a man that meets you on that professional or educational level? Or is it more important to be with a man who loves you and treats you with respect? My thoughts on this are that as long as you are both compatable and you both love and respect each other, what he does for a living should not matter. Love has no boundaries. If you go out there looking for only that "professional" are you sure he will treat you the way you deserve to be treated. My mom was out of town and she is my grandmother's primary advocate while she is in an assisted living home. Anyways my grandma was having a lot of trouble so then I got to step in and play my mothers role alongside my aunt. Trust me it is disgusting the way the elderly are treated I just can't believe it. My grandma gained 10 pounds in 4 days and not one of the nurses noticed. Her belly was all extended and her ankles were the size of her thighs. This happened on Wed. so my mom threw a fit and got my gma on some new meds and the docs told the assisted living people that my gma was to be weighed every single day to make sure her lungs weren't filling up with fluid. Anyways I get a call on Friday night that my gma gained 4 pounds in ONE day and she was already on a double dose of the meds. Ugh it made me so mad. The nurses then tried to convince my gma that it was her fault because she wasn't going to the bathroom enough. She called my crying on Saturday telling me about how they keep telling her to go to the bathroom but she doesn't need to go. She was having all this trouble breathing and was turning blue - while on full oxygen. She asked if she should go to the hospital but the damn nurse told her there was nothing the hospital could do that they couldn't and she just needed to go to the bathroom and she would feel better. My gma was so distraught she called me and told me she was going to drown. I was furious. I channeled my inner Gill and went and had quite the talk with those nurses How dare they make my gma feel bad for something she can't control. I can't believe the treatment she is getting and my family is paying so much for her to be in this place. Can you believe it is one of the top facilities in our county?!? Imagine the care she would be getting elsewhere...unbelievable. So if you could all keep her in your prayers that they can find a way to stop this fluid from collecting in her lungs that would be great. I know she probably doesn't have a lot of time left on this earth but I at least want her to go out comfortable and well taken care of. Thanks So anyways that is how I spent my weekend. Not what I expected but glad I could be there for my gma. Hope you all had a good weekend. Hey Yardie, sorry to hear about your grandma. How could these professionals be so cold and uncouth? Why are you in the healthcare business if you do not have compassion for older, sickly people. That is what is wrong with our society today--no respect for our elders. It is all about making the money without fullfilling their obligation to their clients. Telling her to go to the bathroon if she can't? Bwoy I tell you. Some people Yardie, not to scare or frighten you. If she has congestive heart failure, maybe it is at it's endstage. You say her ejection fraction (the pumping ability of the heart) is low. Even if they triple her diuretics (water pills), it might not make a difference, because your heart has to be able to pull that fluid out of your vascular sytem and pump it to your kidneys and then the kidneys filter out the watse and it comes out as urine. Is she being evaluated by a doctor? Whenever people are on diuretics, they are supposed to get daily weights. How could she have gained 10 lbs in four days without them knowing? What kinda of system do they have set up to moinitor fluid intake and loss? I am so mad right now, I might not be too sensitive right now. Not directed at you though, just the system. More and more of these facilities are being exposed for the slackness that happens there. They treat these people like trash. Can you imagine what happens to those people who have no family? I know this situation suck really bad, but you guys have to keep closer monitoring on her. Light fire under their asses and let them give you what you are paying for. I do not know what you guys schedule ia like, but you all should take turn and pop in and see what else they are neglecting. I am so pissed right now, me head hurts. I cannot go to Isreal and tell them to keep stores open on saturdays so why should they be allowed to say American cannot have school prayer...and it wasn't just them..don't want to seem like i'm picking on a particular group...everyone gets all caught up in the whole seperation of church and state thing..when this country was supposedly founded by a regligous group or colonized I should ...talking about the Puritians...who established schools with prayer in them...I'm not even saying everyone needs to pray to god "let everyone pray to their god" and the atheitists can stand and think about nothing as they belive in no hell or no heaven. uummm just realized I got a bit heavy for a Monday evening...but just my views... Jengs, I totally agree with you. Jamaica has changed so much. Remember the days when everybody had to go to church, whether it be Saturday or Sunday. Your grandmother made sure you did. We had devotion in school every morning before clas and it was instilled into us growing up. You take prayer out of school and the kids go bad. When they shoot up the school, what is the first thing they do? They fall on their knees and call upon the one person they should have taught and intsilled into these kids. They have no salvation, so the devil does his evil work through them. We have to teach these kids about God and prayer and bring back prayer into schools--to prevent these tragedies from happening. I use to light up the grill and fry it outside in a huge frying pan. When I fry it on the grill outside I let the oil get extremly hot drop one scoth bonnet pepper in it a run...then I go back and fry the fish. I'm done in about 10 mins or so...and that's frying about 6 or so fish. I hate to cook. I'd rather clean a house all day long. I love cleaning. I love the smell of BLEACH (diluted)...maybe mi mad, but mi just love house work. Mi wi iron, vacuum, wash, you name it, but mi no like fi COOK! Worse if I have to fry something. I always put on LONGSLEEVES Mi we cook, but me hate housework. I do it because I have to but more time I wish I didn't have to.
