As far as I understand whichever candidate wins the most electoral votes wins. Popular vote doesn't really matter. In 2004 Kerry won the most popular vote but Bush won the electoral so he got presidency. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure that is how it works.

This slays me mad.gif mad.gif Why do we vote then?? If the pop vote is not important? mad.gif

Speaking to Jah'love; her voice is strong and she's feeling much better.

Claire was right. She's hoping to be released tomorrow.

So happy to hear she is doing ok. Just tell her for me that she has to be very careful, because it can happen again. You know how we women push things aside and ignore signs that could really mean something detrimental to our health. I know she has a new baby, but she also needs to pay attention to her own body and the messages it is sending her. I hope all goes well from here for her though.

When i had my second son, the epidural person poked a hole in my back cause she went to deep, well after i delivered my son by emergency C section i stayed in the hospital for 3 days when they sent me home i had a headache so bad i could not sit upright, and the boys dad had to take care of my son, i went back to the hospital 2x after delivery before they figured out the problem. I had to have a spinal patch to get rid of the headaches, as my spinal fluid was leaking out causing my brain to bump around in my skull giving me those headaches, HAving a baby is no joke no0pb.gif

I'm never having another baby crying.gif

Don't say that!!! Just don't let them go digging around in your back or make sure your anesthesiologist is not a newbie and practicing on you. What happen to the old fashion way of having babies??? No epidurals??? Those are really dangerous if the wrong person does it. On the other hand I have had two co-workers have them and chose their anesthesiologist and turned out fine.

I am wondering if JaLove has postpartum pre-eclampsia. I had taken care of many women who delivered normally and are sent home only to be re-admitted days later with this excruciating headache and blood pressure through the roof. They have to be given magnesium drip and have a couple days stay in the ICU. I tell you, having a baby is not easy at all.

I am just so scared for her. I hope se is doing alright. I feel like I am going to cry right now. I can't deal with this type of news about someone I know almost like family.

Love, I am praying diligently for your full revovery and hope these seizures you had have no long lasting effect on you.

Is this caused because they send the mother home so soon? What's the normal stay after delivery?

If the delivery was uncomplicated and all is well you are sent home ASAP. That does not necessarily mean you are 100%. Those pregnancy harmones just does not go away. Pregnancy induced hypertension and diabetes can happen after you deliver. Maybe her blood pressure was elevated and no one check it before she was sent home. There is no one set length of stay for birth, it is all individualized. It is absolutely terrible what the insurance companies forces the hospitals to do because this is what happens when you generalize healthy births by giving a length of stay for hospital stays because each person and their illness should be treated differently. This is making me angry so I am going to stop right now.

Please pray for Ja Love. Her husband called me at 1:00 AM. Yesterday, she complained about having migraine headaches. I told her that if the problem worsens to go to the emergency room. To make a long story short, she had two seizures. The doctors are trying to determine if she had placenta remains inside of her. Her baby is only a week old. Her mother said that she is having a cat scan. Hopefully, they can figure out what's wrong. As soon as I hear from Chris, I will let you guys know.

Hey Clairern! Good ole JACHO! LOL I never saw the point in inspecting things when people know you are coming...what I want to know about is what you do when you don't know I'm coming. devil.gif

Yeah, when they come they announce it over the speaker "Code Rex is in effect" over and over again and we just laugh. The thing though like I said you never know what and whose chart they are going to choose to review and I got picked.

Claire, I hope all goes well with you'll JACHO inspection, I have seen first hand what can happen to a hospital if they fail this inspection.

Roxcie

Girl, Rox.... whistling.gif Guess who they chose to interrogate? Whose patient's chart they chose to review? I got pulled into the conference room with my orientee and our pt's chart and got put through the ringer but I came through it with flying colors. We have had that pt since he was transferred into the ICU so we had a very broad knowledge of his whole care and every aspect of his chart that was being scrutinized we hit the nail on the head. My manager and the director of nursing and our pharmacist was in the room also and they kept telling me after it was over that I did really well and how proud of me they were.

I was nervous the whole time and then my day went downhill from there. Admitted a pt who came in with a little GI bleed but had a long cardiac history and I worked my butt off from 2pm to 730pm to save him and make him stable before I left. I just came home and crashed.

Now I am sitting here drinking some beef soup that I made this AM and catching up on what I missed yesterday.

####### STAND

A Priest has a number of hens and one rooster.

One Saturday he goes into the coop to get some eggs, and can't find the rooster...
This bothers him because he knows that some people in the community engage in ####### fighting and may have stolen the #######. The priest figures he can find the culprit at church the next day.

On Sunday, he gets up in the pulpit and says;

'all of you who have a #######, stand up'!

ALL THE MEN IN THE CHURCH STOOD UP.

'No, no!' says the priest, 'I mean all of you> who have seen a #######, please stand up'

ALL THE WOMEN> IN THE CHURCH STOOD UP.

No, no!', says the priest. 'I mean, all of you who have seen a ####### that doesn't belong to you, stand up'.

HALF OF THE WOMEN IN THE CHURCH STOOD UP.

'No! You still don't understand. All of you who have seen my #######, stand up'.

ALL OF THE NUNS, HALF THE ALTAR BOYS, AND ONE GOAT STOOD UP.

Well guys my husband got his visa!!!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif ...sooo excited and ecstatic all at once...well here is the run down of the event...

He was scheduled for 7:30am...he went through the metal detectors and a CO checked his name and took his interview letter...he was given a number and was told to sit down...he waited about 2 to 3 hours before his name was called...when he went to the first window a lady asked him for his medical records and his passport pictures....she also asked him for his visa but then gave it back to him...he was then told to sit back down and someone else will call him in about 5-10 mins....he was called within 10mins by another lady....she did his fingerprints and she asked him the following questions..

When we met
When did we get engaged (he told her we never did the engagement thing just started planning on getting married...I'm not sure if that was a wise thing to say in my opinion)
When did you get married
Do we have any kids together
Were either one of us ever married before

And then she asked him if he had any pictures and he showed them our pictures...he said she did not say anything while looking at the pictures and he said she looked at all of them...

She then said ok and gave him a white slip (thought it was suppose to be pink) and told him were to go to pay for the delivery of his visa....she also kept his passport....she also made him sign on some form...he said it was like a stack of forms but he only had to sign one part...he also had to write his name and address on a yellow piece of paper....

He had to pay $750JA for his visa and they took the white paper the lady at the embassy gave him and then gave him a receipt and told him that he can pick up his visa next week Wednesday in New Kingston...there is also a spot in Mobay but he is going to stay with his sister until the visa is ready to pick it up there...

Overall he said it was ok...the lady wasn't rude but she wasn't smiling either...he also said it was jammed pack in there...He said most visitor visa people didn't get through but majority of family visas got through except for those who were missing something....

Thank you Jesus that this is finally over!!!!!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif star_smile.gif

Congrats kicking.gif kicking.gif Sounds really easy. Remember do not buy his ticket until he has the passport back in hand. good.gif

I was really going to consider the lawyer but i think i'm gonna just do it myself to save money..Thanks for everyone's input so far..I've read the guides and it just seems like soo much to do..but i guess getting started is the hardest part. I'm hoping to start in January. If i need help or questions about anything i will defiently let everyone know ..my SO is from Morant Bay , St. Thomas. We met back in April on my first trip there and i recently visisted him and my family in Nov. Well i have everything from the first time i went as far as letters, phone bills, flight iteneries-confirmations, passport stamps, and pictures. So i'm not worried about that part..the only thing i'm really concerned with is the 134-form ..I'm a full time student and i know i'm not gonna be able to sponsor him..and both of my parents don't work sooo..their might be some issues where that is concerned..can anyone suggest anything ?? Thanks..

Welcome to VJ. Visit the yardie thread and post all your questions there. The ladies on there have been through or are going through the process and can guide you along the way. As for the I-134, what you need is a co-sponsor. Seeing that you are the petitioner, you still have to fill out one form and your co-sponsor fill out the other. The co-sponsor does not have to be related to you nor even live in the same state with you.

Again, welcome and good luck along the way. good.gif
