Middle East and North AfricaMedical Exam
They check for communicable diseases such as HIV, Syphillis, Hepatitis, TB etc. They perform a routine medical exam , blood tests, vaccinations, and a chest x-ray to check for TB. It is all very simple. Nothing more than an annual physical with a chest x-ray.

Hello Ella, I am sorry your fiance received a 221g. However I am confused because you say that the K-1 was approved.... if you have received a 221g stating it was under further review, that means it wasnt approved and more than likely sent back to your service center. Administrative review and administrative processing is different. When Samir went for his interview, he was in administrative processing for 2 weeks while they did the last security checks. This is in Algeria, so it may take longer in Morocco. It sounds like to me you might want to call your senator or congressman, and fill out a form so they can inquire about your case. Calling the USCIS is a waste of time really. I was impatient and tired of waiting and called my senators office who fortunately is Elizabeth Dole and got approved 2 days later. Try that and see if it helps.
Best of luck,
Shannon

Middle East and North AfricaIssues you may need to discuss with your MENA SO

wow i saw the title for this forum and thought it might be interesting and like old times it is nothing but a bunch of nonsense.......you know alot of people on here used to bash me all the time, taling about how i was sooo intolerant and when Samir gets here he will be so unhappy because of my christian views, and he has been here 3 mos, not one fight, we get along great, the people at his mosque like me, and we think we might be expecting our first baby. If I would have listened to some of the so called RELIGOUS people on here, who knows what could have happened. I suggest people dont spend too much time on here, as I dont anymore, I have my husband and family, along with work and school, and find that much of what goes on in here is just negative and can bring out the worst in you. There are many so called religous people on here who will not hesatate to bash you and there is no point in even disgussing controversial talks on here because most of the responses you get are either irrational, biased, or prejediced. Why bother over and over disgussing theses kind of issues ( like about Jews for example) when you know that mean things will be said? It isnt productive at all and makes no sense.

Christina also when you make you decision i think you need to read the book of Matthew in the bible and the scripture thats quotes Jesus saying "the only way to the Father is through me".

I have to say thank you all for this information and resources that you have shared. I was talking to Hasan and was telling him that i ws reading for more knowledge and reminded him that I am not considering to convert but want to know more. I only throw that in cause I would never want to get his hopes up and then let him down. I am not sure how happy he is cause I have many questions and I think I may have offended him when I asked why he drinks alcohol when it is forbidden. Please believe me I am not trying to judge I am only trying to inquire so that I know. He said he was not offended. He response to me was do all Catholics pray. So I told him never mind I will just read and not question at this time until i gain more knowledge.

Ok I am still curious and know that there are many clubs in Jordan and alot of alochol is consumed and Jordan is 95% Muslim.

I try and only look for te simularities and not the differences but i really want a deeper understanding so that i can be a great wife to my future husband. I want to be able to understand and comform as much as I can so that we can be better for one another. Am I not seeing this the way I am suppose to or by only trying to be the most I can is that not what is right. I am not sure but only want to grow in my knowledge and understanding in Islam. I have seen from many of the resources here in this topic that i am getting alot of useful knowledge. I am now kind of afraid to ask many questions but that is the only way to learn. I can only hope that I am not offending anyone by my ignorence on this subject but I will only try to better myself from the knowledge I gain.

Thanks again.

Sure you want to be a good wife to your husband but, if christian women were not good for muslim men then their Quran wouldnt allow them to marry us. dont change what you believe in to conform to someone.. you do it for God. I will not convert and my fiance has accepted it and we love each other and respect each other for who we are.

Middle East and North AfricaCoverts?

I know this is a little off topic, but I'm wondering if there are any Muslim converts (reverts) here that would be willing to speak with me? I am very interested in Islam (my fiancee has sparked this interest) but am having a really really tough time since my return to the states explaning this to anyone, friends or family, and even finding any kind of support system. Also, they are not supportive at all of my engagement (which I understand as they have never met my fiancee being that it is IMPOSSIBLE to bring him into the states).

Just feeling like its me and him against the world, and its difficult when we are so far away, with no end in sight.

Any support would be apprecaited.

Thank you
Christina

I am not a convert but my fiance is a muslim.. i do not believe in islam because i believe Jesus is the son of God.. but thre are alot of similarities between the 2 ... my fiance is aware that i do not want to convert and respects my wishes. no matter what do not let someone pressure you in your decision.. one misconception is that when u marry a muslim u have to convert .. for some reason this is true but only with muslim women.. a muslim man can marry a christian woman or a jew.....

Middle East and North AfricaWhat is a MEAN girl?
Seems some people want clarication of what a MEAN girl is.
Those same people who have asked that question also have been advertising being members of this group that they claim they dont know what it means. even in certain forums have tossed around sighns and slogans for their group.
A MEAN girl is a girl from the MENA forum who is in association with those who like to belittle others and publicly show their intolerance of people who do not fit into their group. mostly consisting of islamic converts like to publicly insult people who are married or engaged to muslim men, or dont agree with their religion. they also like to make rude postings and claim that other people are intolerant. i myself am an example of falling victim to this group. i suffered from their rude and degrading comments for months untill i got sick of it.
so is you want to know what MEAN girls is you all named YOURSELVES THAT. so when i say mean girls dont twist it and say i am calling you mean. i am calling you the name you called your group.

Middle East and North AfricaRaising bi-cultural kids

Multi - cultural is one thing, but inter religious is another. Any one who gets married to someone from another religion, Whatever it may be, needs to discuss these things before the marriage.

What you raise your kids as is one thing, But you owe them they learn about both or all religions and find there truth.

I have know couples whos marriages have broken up over this. Any religious muslim man will not allow his kids being raised anything but Muslim. After all that is the faith, that is your afterlife.

Rahma - It is more important for you to raise your Children as Proud Good Muslims that in a Cultural way. I myself refuse anything that is said to be "cultural" and follow what I believe to be good. They can take the good of each culture and dispose of the bad.

100% agreed to things in bold :star:

I dont care what people think .. if i did samir and i wouldnt be together... the way i see it this forum is biased anyway cos it is mostly muslim. newsflash not every muslim man marries in his faith! and it the same thing for me also. we fall in love with who we fall in love with. i think this forum is biased. and you know what? i am sure the same women that are biased were once christians themselves. as far as my afterlife goes well certainly islam does not judge me. God is the only one who judges me. I could say every muslim isnt saved because they dont believe jesus died for their sins.. but i dont. God is the only one who has a say in it. I say this now and will always say it ... i am sure that there will be christians , jews , and muslims in heaven. God will judge you how he sees fit. it is a shame that so many people use their religion to feed hate and bitterness. i think all of us on this earth have it all wrong.

Samir is very religious but, he aslo respects my religion. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY RELIGION. Samir isnt any less religious becuase he would allow our children to be raised christian. He has never said he would allow it but i am saying i want it. Samir and I wont hve a problem cos of respect. I want my children to know Jesus. If Islam says thats wrong then there is something wrong with that. I can raise my children with good morals and values in christianity. I wont let it become a war between us. Thats why the world is the way it is. People get cuaght up in the RELIGION thing. Samir loves God I love God and my kids love God. That is what matters. Also we have talked about this many times. He wants his kids to be muslim but he said we will talk about it when the time comes. We have a very loving relationship. As far as i am concerned, I dont owe Islam or christianity anything. I answer to GOD not religion.

Samir and I plan on having childen. and i cant wait. I have two beautiful girls from my previous marriage and we cant wait to give them a little brother or sister. Our children will learn about Algerian culture and their heritage but as far as religion goes.... we disagree. It will work itself out when the time comes, but, my children are baptised as christians and i intend for our baby to be baptised a christian also. He knows this , and doesnt like it, but he knows i am honest and just say how i feel. he is patient with me i give him that lol that is what the hardest thing will be is two religions in one house. but he is sooooooooooooooo worth it. there isnt a man that is sweeter to me than he is. thank God for Samir (L)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresLetter to congressman

girl 37-how is asking a government official, if there is anything they can do personally for me, or directing in a better avenue, asking them to be corrupt? This is why their elected. Acutally, if you check out Senantor Harry Reid's website, he in fact states, that he's happy to help with immigration issues....check it out for yourself! http://reid.senate.g...es/casework.cfm

samir shannon- do NOT accuse me of being "clueless" in this process. you don't know what i know... I am very much aware that it takes at least 90 days...in fact, i don't anticipated my husband actually coming here until January of next year.....i'm only trying to be prepared now.

like you totally are having a rant lol draaaaaaaaaaaaammma

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresLetter to congressman

You know, this isn't a debate for me. I simply was asking about the content in the letter itself. Not wheter or not you agreed with my aproach, or whether or not it was justful. I have NO control over the government, and no control about what others, with serious medical conditions choose how to handle their petitions. Hopefully, they do the same as me, and hopefully, they're even bumped up in front of me, but I'm still going to try to get mine bumped up as well. Because the worst that can happen is that they'll say no, and then i'll only be in the same place that i was to start. I would have lost nothing. I can't control whether my government is corrupt or not- this doesn't effect that.

the reason i mentioned 90 days is because it takes usually at LEAST 90 days minimum to process the petition itself...... i think you should have researched all of this .. sounds like you are like totally clueless. newsflash .. the government doesnt give a ####### how much we miss our s/o. ok? they have a system and that is that. send the letter. your approach sounds desperate. i havent seen samir since feb. i am desperate too. goodluck.

samir shannon-I hear what you're saying, although this isn't about patience for me. It's just doing what I can-even if it doesn't work...it's assuring me that I did everything possible, instead of just waiting and waiting. I have to be proactive. And just to clear things up, I didn't file for a K-3. I filed an I-130, so i guess that's a CR1, right? which, i also heard is in fact, processing faster than the K-3, which was meant to bring our spouses here sooner, but in fact is not, so quite the oxymoron it is....

ok ... well do what you gotta do.... good luck to ya.

That's fine! Wow, there are so many cynical people on this site. You can just sit on your little throne, and do nothing, and wait and wait.... But me, I'm going to try EVERYTHING possible, including selling my soul to the devil if I have to, to get my husband here sooner. And if none of it helps, then so be it. At least to hell, I know I tried-that I did everything I could...and I can live that.

hey i am not being cynical... i am doing everything i can for my fiance.... leaving him in algeria was the hardest thing i ever had to do. we love our husbands/fiances as much as you love yours. you have to understand this is a process....... i have sent emails to CSC and i have talked to senators here and they will all tell you this process takes sometimes upto a year. also k-3 visa usually take longer than k-1 visas. that is one of the reasons my fiance and i didnt marry when i was there cos it would be longer before we could be together. be patient. i am still waiting on my NOA2.
