Peter'n'Jamie - Definitely keep calling and speak with an operator! I know it's been busy today, I haven't been able to get through! Before my DS-3032 was generated it kept saying "the NVC received your petition on....(date)...please all 6-8 weeks for...yadda yadda". The NVC was closed yesterday, so hopefully by today or tomorrow you'll have your DS-3032 generated!

Moosker, thanks for informing me that the phone message does in fact change. I was getting paranoid. I keep calling the phone line but no luck yet. I hope to hear something from them within the next couple of days.

That's true but I thought the NVC ONLY scheduled interviews on the second week of the month. So this was a complete shock to me to get an interview before March 9.

I think your out of luck. Earlier dates are filled first. Try calling your embassy in Naples Italy to change it to an earlier one. It can't hurt.

Look at that link and go to the section Step 2 (I-864). It tells you all the documents you need. Then simply print out the coversheet from the online AOS payment and mail the whole thing off. No need to wait for NVC letters.

Have you been checking the status of your petition on the USCIS website? You might have been approved and they lost the letter of approval. I would say call them and check the website.

Nope, I would not worry about it at all! You have the NOA 1. Now you have to wait for them to approve it. Some people never get any touches.

Did your passport have your maiden name during your interview?

I processed all of my paper work in my maiden name. All of id's still say my maiden name. As everyone knows an American woman does not have to take her husband's name. So I really don't think this is an issue at all! I think the most important thing is that you have alot of evidence of an ongoing and valid relationship. I thought about changing my name during the process but didn't want to have deal with the headache of having two different names during the process. I read somewhere that the USCIS, NVC, and the embassy's expect or understand that but I thought it would be easier to wait until my husband is in the United States. My husband's interview is tomorrow so I guess I will see!

Interview Package Email. Where is it?

We got our Visa Email to both my husband and my email address. I think this was because we submitted the Choice of Agent via email because that is the only way I can think they got it. If you didn't give them your email address on any forms than they probably didn't email it to you. Check the spam box also.

The email we got came from NVC Inquiry <NVCInquiry@state.gov>. You can email or call the Embassy in Lima. However, I don't recommend you email as I have emailed them twice and did not get satisfactory results. You can only call between 2-3 for immigrant visas.

The embassy won't send you any packages. The only thing you will receive is the email. I called the Embassy and varified this yesterday as our interview is in 2 days. http://lima.usembass...ns-contact.html Call them and tell them you did not receive the email. I think you can go and pick it up and then schedule your medical. Do this ASAP as it takes two days at least for the medical exam, maybe more depending on the results. Also, my husband highly recommends Dr. Nora Lari as she is professional and charges a fair price. Good Luck!!

If you haven't already done your taxes do them asap. I saw a few people get RFE for them at the NVC and of course they are asking for them at the time of the interview. If you don't have tax transcripts call asap. It takes about 2 weeks to get them. Just read the guides and ask questions on the forum if ANYTHING is not clear and you will fly through the process!

First, you have to create an account on USCIS website, and after you have your case# you can add that case # on your profile. After that, you can see when was the last time USCIS updated your case. Don't forget to turn on your e-mail notification, sometimes the notification through e-mail is more up to date.

Congratulations on the speedy approval! I am sure you where not prepared for the NVC right now. So the very first thing that you must do is begin collecting the documents from your husband! It takes about a week for the NVC to receive your case so if you are quick you can get the documents from your husband by the time you need them.

Get all of the documents that are listed on that webpage. Every day call the NVC phone line with your USCIS case number until your case is entered into the system. Once it is done email your DS-3032. I highly recommend you doing this because if you email it once you receive your case number then it speeds up the process. Also, providing an emailed DS-3032 will ensure that you receive an emailed version of your interview letter (at least it did in our case). Make sure that you read everything 4 times and check everything!! Take your time but be prepared and you can get through the NVC in a couple of weeks to a month.

Sorry to hear about the denial! So long to wait to hear bad news! But if I was in your shoes I would contact the embassy to find out exactly what happened from their point of view before trying to figure out what to do next. Make sure you have at least 20 pictures. That was the only thing they asked from us. I had a ton of evidence to prove our relationship was bonafide but they didn´t want any of it but pictures.
