Im not sure--I didnt have a "real" job I was in the Cdn Air Force, lol, so not sure how the civy world operates. But to qualify for EI, one has to have a certain amount of insurable weeks, which I assume get translated into hours?? I'm in New York at the moment so dont have my ROE available to look at. On the EI website (google it) I'm sure on there it states on how many weeks (or hours) one must have to be able to qualify for EI. Dont just take their word on it, check into it on the website, (and on phone) as they do make mistakes!! As well ensure your ROE is correct. Hope it works out. Here is one site i quickly found, not sure if its worth much:

With regards to EI, i think once you file initially, the EI people start sending out those weekly forms. I know I got them right away when I initailly filed, then my case was denied! Its as if they dont varify ur info right away. Hopefully you can get things straightened out right away. But you should be able to figure out how many hrs youi have and what they require??? Best of luck

damn that wasn't good spanish!!! lol My in laws WHOLE family speaks Spanish except for me!! They all worked down there one time or another. Wife was actually born in Chile. This yr for Xmas they bought me Rosetta Stone Spanish tutorial on CD.
This past semester at the hospital (I'm a RN student) I was working with this great Technician, she was awesome, but it seemed every time i went to assist her, she required help wiping someones butt. The next week I was prepared!! Got my wife to teach me some Spanish. My opening line to her went along the lines " Hello, how are you, I'm ready to wipe some a$$ today" She thought it was pretty funny!! Were hoping to move to South America for a few yrs when i finish school.

That warranty can be useful at times. Normally I dont buy it, but a few times at bestbuy they offered the warranty to me at a discount price, and just my luck, the MP3 player broke. Was a simple exchange.

Not that I know anything (1st yr RN student) But I aint going to sign off on another medical procedure (physical) that some one else did, simple as that. I have no clue what is required for the AOS, as I was a CR-1, but I can see why a Dr would not simply transfer over physical results completed by another DR. he didn't do the work, thus he can't sign off on them. Again I'm not sure on what u guys require, I'm just chilling, lol

CanadaInterview Consulate
Is it impossible NO! In the past (not recently) a few have had success in changing their consulate from Mtl to vancouver. To do that one has to have a valid reason--as your now working in one of the western provinces that goto Van for thie intyerview, and you would need a Address to back thjat up! And yes, some of those people "made it up or fabrcated their story" and were successful in getting it chnaged. One can always ask to switch consulates, and they canalways say no,lol

no one else from Manitoba yet.?? ..lol I am feeling lonely

I'm from Manitoba. Grew up on a farm but our "hometown" was called Glenora. Population 26.... yes 26 people not 26 hundred or thousand. I actually went to a small two room school house. It had no gym or library and the principal (one of the two teachers) actually had a hand held school bell that he rang to end end recess. The one room had grades 1-4 and the "big" room had grades 5-8. Some grades may only have one person in it and one year there was a grade that had nobody. We had a big class with 6 kids. After grade 8 we went to a "larger" town for highschool. The school is now closed but did survive to see it's 100th anniversary. The town itself is actually a neat and tidy little town and everyone takes much pride in it. It has one store called "the Mall" which is basically a general store. It also has a community hall and a very active curling club - which still uses natural ice and not an artifical plant.
So did I move to a bigger community when I moved to the US? Actually, NO! The place we live right now has a population of 12 full time residents. It's basically, a dumpy little North Dakota town that died years ago. Only thing remaining here is the bar - which is a dumpy hole in the wall but is very popular in the area.

Love towns like that!! I think it s a staple in the prairie communities--a curling rink, lol

CanadaHometown Canada
Born in Prince Albert Saskatchewan. Resided for 6 months in Uranium City (about as far North in Sk as u can go), resided in LA Ronge Sk for 3 years, but majority of my first 19 yrs in PA. After that my permanent residence for 10 yrs was primarily Victoria BC, but thanks to Navy courses, spent considerable time in Halifax. Transferred to the Air Force, so resided for a bit in Winnipeg, then posted to Greenwood NS. Parents now reside in Saskatoon, so no going back to PA, which is fine, the city has really gone downhill and is rather "dirty" looking.

Prince Albert has the distinction of having being represented in Parliament by three Canadian Prime Ministers: Sir Wilfrid Laurier in 1896 when it was the Saskatchewan Provisional District; William Lyon Mackenzie King from 1926 to 1945; and John Diefenbaker from 1953 to 1979.

CanadaWhy do I feel 2 inches tall
When I first moved down here, my wife put me on all our accounts (electrcity, TV, etc) as well on her credit cards! When dealing with credit cards, one has to be listed a certain way to get "credit" for it, at 0414 in the morning, I can't what that is,lol. Watching Suzzie Orrman a few yrs back, she stated that was no longer going to work--obtaining credit, by piggybacking off another persons credit! Not sure if thats the case now or not. Citi Bank used to have a credit card that was meant for "new" people that had just came to the USA. Think one had to pay a $20 yearly fee, but after using it for a bit and paying it off, you were able to no fee credit cards, and could just cancel that one. google citi bank credit cards.

Nadya Suleman says she tried for seven years to get pregnant before she successfully conceived with in-vitro fertilization at a facility – "and then I just kept going in."

In an interview for the Today show, the recent mother of octuplets – who has six other children at home – tells NBC's Ann Curry: "That was always a dream of mine, to have a large family, a huge family."

The desire, she says, stemmed from a dysfunctional childhood, according to the interview, with airs Monday with a sneak peek on Friday. (Dateline also will air a portion on Tuesday.)

"I just longed for certain connections and attachments with another person that I really lacked, I believe, growing up," she says.

Asked what she felt she lacked, she says, "Feeling of self and identity. I didn't feel as though, when I was a child, I had much control of my environment. I felt powerless. And that gave me a sense of predictability. Reflecting back on my childhood, I know it wasn't functional. It was pretty, pretty dysfunctional, and whose isn't?"

Suleman, 33, was interviewed shortly after she was discharged from Kaiser Permanente's hospital in Bellflower, Calif. Her babies – six boys and two girls – remain in the hospital all in good condition.

Disability Benefits
Meanwhile, PEOPLE uncovered new details about Suleman's medical and financial history, with documents showing she received nearly $168,000 in disability benefits.

Suleman got the payments because of injuries she suffered during a 1999 riot at a California mental hospital where she worked, leaving her with chronic back pain.

She was still receiving disability payments at about the time she was inseminated with octuplets, and doctors had precluded her from taking any job that involved "prolonged sitting, standing and walking," according to workers' comp documents.

While working as a psychiatric technician at Metropolitan State Hospital in Norwalk, Calif., she responded on Sept. 18, 1999, to an emergency alert called when 20 patients rioted.

Psychiatric Hospital Riot
"While she attempted to hold down a female patient, she was struck on her back by a desk that was thrown by another patient in the ward," says a document submitted last year to a state claims examiner. "She experienced the onset of immediate pain in her low back."

The State Compensation Insurance Fund stopped being liable to Suleman on Aug. 28, 2008, shortly after she got pregnant. As of that point, the documents say, she had been paid $168,000 in disability benefits since August 2001.

Doctors had concluded she had some permanent damage to the lumbar area of her spine that could become more painful "with heavy lifting, repetitive bending, prolonged sitting, standing or walking."

Doctors at the time noted that Suleman was already pregnant – and that her pregnancy might have been contributing at that time to any back pain. Doctors estimated that 10 percent of her pain at the time was due to her pregnancy, and 90 percent was due to the injuries from the riot and the car accident.

A Second Claim
The document goes on to say that in 2001, while she was leaving a doctor's office for treatment of the injury, Suleman's car was was rear-ended.

Suleman hurt her neck, back and shoulders, and filed a separate, additional claim for workers' compensation, arguing that the car accident would not have occurred had she not been going for medical treatment for the earlier injury. It was unclear if she received funds from that claim.
