Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionsending off our I 751 today..... quick check
Yes, the filling out of the 751 and evidence required is very easy!! One just has to sit down, and take some time to do it. I'm a guy, and even managed to do it on my own without my wife's help!! Yes, pretty amazing!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 to Vermont-blue letter-What is next?
I went through vermont in the fall, and yes, the biometrice letter came later by itself. The NOA took me nealy 2 months to receive, and was close to 3 weeks, maybe a month, before I got the biometrics appt letter, with the appt scheduled for about 2 weeks later. Some people get the NOSA and Biometrics in the same letter I belive, or shortly after, but not all!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionApproved!!
Congrats!! Took me about 6 months from start to finsih going through vermont. I received the actual card 5-6 days after I got that email. Congrats

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionApplying for I-751?
yep, like the above stated, so if you mail inthe 751 right away within ur 90 day timeframe, you should have the NOA prior to u departing!! iguess then one has to copnsider when the biometrics appt letter will come!! Not a big deal if you have soemone that can check and open ur mail, and if ur going to be away, just follow the easy instructions included on the letter on how to reschedule!! For me was simple as checking the box on the Biometrics letter and sending it back to the address provided. Best of luck

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionaffidavits
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affidavit (yes wiki, not the greatest source, lol)

So, if one goes by what an 'affidavit" is, it has to be notarized to be an affidavit!! I just sent letters (not notarized) from a couple of friends. It had there contact info, so if Immigration wantyed to contact them, they could. I sent piles of other evidence as well, so the "letters" were just a nice to throw in item. One doesnt have to send affidavits or letters, all up to you!! With al the evidence I had, i didnt think it was necessary to go get the "letters" notarized. I received my 10 yr greencard with no probs. And yes others didnt send in any letters or affidavits and were improved. Other evidence such as both names on leases, bills, life insurance, are most likely more important. Best of luck, and yes do a search, lots of info.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCONFUSION ABOUT THE FORM I-751

hi VJ's. im back here at the website. i just got here at US since nov.20..and i tried to post my timeline, but i cant get through coz of some internet problems with my pc. i'll update this soon.

anyway, someone can help me understand about the Form I-751? as far as i know, only the couples which have less than 2 years of marriage can apply for this I-751(removed of conditional status), but me and my hubby married for more than 2 years since i approved and received my 2 year resident card. do we require to file this form? and is it right to receive only 2 years of resident card instead of 10 years? and also,it said that the expiration date indicated on my 2 year permanent resident card, will be our 2nd year wedding anniversary, but the date indicated on my card is nov.20,2011,its not our wedding anniv. our wedding anniv is july and it is for 3rd year?

someone help me to understand.. i appreciate it in advance.. thank you.

anna

When you applied for the cr-1 visa way back when you were not married for 2 yrs or more, thus you got the cr-1 visa, correct? Now the basis of the 10 yr green card is based on when you entered the usa and activated that cr-1 at the port of entry! You should have your green card, correct? on it there is an expiration date. 90 days before that expiration date you can file the I-751. doesnt have to be exactly 90 days, just within 90 days and NOT before 90days! Again that expiration date has to to do with the date you entered the USA,NOT your wedding anniversary. Simply---go by the expiration date on the green card!!

very nice house. pay wise for RN's varies throughout the USA. As low as the high teens in some parts of the country. Dc area it starts out around $25 plus shift differential and believe me right now, there are a fair # of unemployed RN's in this area, so there is no dickering with salary, its take it or leave it, as they can get someone else. Enjoy the house

Yes, I used to be big time poster on All Nurses, but with a select few people on the International site that hate Philippines Nurses I stopped posting there.

Nursing is hurting in some areas of the USA, Mainly Northern or Western.

But Texas has felt very little of the recession, and they are letting my wife work about as many hours she wants per week, She was working five 12 hours shifts per week.

Nurse Shortage is still alive and well around Dallas / Ft. Worth Metroplex.....

They may not be hiring around here but there is still a lot of OT to be worked if one wants it! They rather have ya work OT then hire new staff. I prefer my time off,lol

Middle East and North AfricaVISA IN HAND ( AFTER 2.5 years of waiting )
I have read on VJ (so not 100% reliable) that if you enter the USA and activate the visa after 2 yrs of marriage (like u plan on doing) you should get the IR-1 visa (10 yr greencard) Thus if that is true, would be very worthwhile to delay ur coming to the USA. Best of luck!! I do recal another in a similar situation where they did enter after 2 yrs, but only got the cr-1, but they made an infopass appt, and I belive got it switched to the IR-1, but I could be mistaken!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresTampa attorneys?
Well for one there is NO AOS for cr-1!! 2 yrs (minus 90 days) u file the I-751 to remove conditions. And there is NO requirement for a lawyer at the Interview in Montreal. Who is payinf rot he plane ticket from Tampa to Mtl?? We had a lawyer, what a waste of $$$,lol YOU still have to get them the information, and get all the documents (divorce cert, long form birth cert, etc etc)
If i were you, get ur other half to come on VJ and save urself some $$$$$$. A lawyer doesnt have any "ins' with the staff. Hell my wife worked at the State dept at the time, and talked with people that worked immigration, lol and they didnt pull any strings. Not the info you wanted, sorry, lol

As I said I had a lawyer, and guess what they are in most cases--an expensive proof reader. We still filled in the documents--they dont know ur personal information!! Sure she was nice, but not worth the $2500 plus filings! Then she emailed us and said for a measly $1000 she would do the 751 for us,lol Took me all of 5 minutes to fill out that 1 form!

There are examples of filled out forms on VJ under example forms!! What more do u need than VJ, seriously, lol Put the $$ towards a holiday. Now if ur cases was complicated, that may be another story, but from ur previous posts, i don't think it is. Best of luck

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting the U.S. during the I-130 process
This issue gets brought up on a weekly basis here on VJ. Canadinas seem to be a bit luckier than most, as we are neighbors with the yanks, and if you do get denied, its not a major hassle as it could be with other counteries.

Many Canadians have travelled to the USA while the visa process was ongoing and never had aproblem, and there have been others that have been denied. I travelled monthly to DC and never had a single problem. All seems to come down to the POE officer. And I would assume it matters how you carry yourself. Dont bring tons of luggage, look presentable, try not to be nervous and answer the questions honestly, but dont add a lot to them!! Thats just my experience. Andf have a plan if you do get denied entry! Do a search on VJ and i'm sure you will come up with other experiences. best of luck

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresa question about the interview in montreal
Up to about MAy or June 2005 you used to get the visa the same day (even cr-1) but like others have mentioned, its either a prepaid express post envelope or you drive back (or wait) til Monday/Tuesday to pick it up! But thee have been a few cr-1ers that have gotten lucky and received it the same day!! Maybe shed a few tears, lol One could always have the envelope ready and ask to have it the same day, all they can do is say no!!

k1 and cr-1 is different. for the k1 Mtl sets the date, and for cr-1 NVC assigns the date. Even though MTl wont be assigning you the date, I would email and ask them what are your options.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDo you get a choice of interview dates? (Montreal)
NVC sets the interview schedule for cr-1/ir-1 in Mtl. Probably easier to push the interview back, then vice versa. Why not email mtl and ask if they can do it, and how to go about accomplishing it, if it is possible. best of luck

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresa few questions after getting packet 4
Better to have some evidence just in case. I brought a few pics, letters, plane tickets, but MTL never asked to see any of them. And Better to wait on booking your ticket. Never know what could go wrong, Murphys law tends to point it ugly head from tiem to time!! Computers may go down, etc etc! Staff there are great. Do a search here and you wil find a lot of info regarding the MTL embassy, hotels, what not to bring, etc etc Best of luck
