I'm heading back to Saskatoon March 5-14. Dan airlines!! price yesterday afternoon was a ttl of $443, last night and now, its up to $515! I'm sure it will go down again. I know one article i read stated the best time to book a ticket was near midnight on a Tuesday, lol

Got a sweet deal on Ebay for two genuine canon black ink cartridges for my printer, saved $10!!

The one thing I don't like about Custom House is they ask for a ton of personal information. They want two forms of ID. I'm not going to surrender that! They're not a bank or any entity that I trust. Maybe that sounds somewhat paranoid, but all I have to go on is a website that says stuff -- there are no physical locations.

Yes there is a physical location in Victoria BC! I personally have walked by it numerous times when I lived there! No it isn't a bank, its a brokerage company, and they require the information to ensure everything is on the up and up. I have used it since 2005 and NEVER had any problems! The customer service is top notch! They will walk ya step by step doing trades, they are very customer orientated! When I'm transferring money, I want to ensure they are a legit company! My biggest transaction was over $25000 (when closed out 1 RRSP acct) and it went very smoohtly

Hey guys, I'm signing up for the Custom House foreign exchange service everyone recommended. But it doesn't state fees anywhere on the site. How much do they charge to transfer funds to Canada?

Thanks!

ZERO!!! if you do it EFT (electronic file transfer) there are NO fees, NONE!! They also offer a wire service, but there are fees for that, but its faster. EFT takes 3-4 business days!!

Got to spend the day in the Emergency Room today (RN student, last semester) had a blast. Not a level 1 trauma hospital, so nothing to gross, which I find cool, lol oh well. Still was fun and got to see some cool stuff. On the softer side of things, got to hold a baby for a bit, always fun to hold, even better handing back to mom, lol

I just watched online. I was quite impressed with the quality of the video stream. laughing.gif The Peace Bridge segments brought back fond memories of home and I was intimately acquainted with that room they had that runaway senior in. laughing.gif It was good, Jill. Thank you.

Glad you enjoyed it!! I almost cried when the Mexican lady was trying to get into the States with a perm res card that wasn't hers and they sent her back and she said she had no family, nowhere to live.... They banned her for 5 years. I know it's her own fault for trying to do something so stupid but I still felt so bad crying.gif

Well, you can stop feeling bad now because that only applied to the city they were returning her to. She had to make her way home from there. lol. I felt terrible that she had a tooth pulled just to try to get past immigration. sad.gif

I have yet to watch the show!!! But had a interesting experience going through USA customs back in the late 90's from Tijuana Mexico to San diego. We Were just coming back from Tijuana, in line to go through Customs, and these 2 Mexican fellows are like bent over, walking past everyone, they in stealth mode (lol) get up to the desk where the POE officers, and think they can just rush by the guards, not a chance. They got swarmed on by a pile of POE officers. Interesting to watch.

Still in line, we see 2 or 3 Gentleman running for the fence outside, with the POE officers in chase! Saw them climb the wire fence and get over, and thats al we could see from our viewpoint, but most likely they got caught as this took place in mid afternoon.

My wife is taking the day off. Fed employees can come in 3 hrs late, so why bother, take it off. Ice walks around our place are pure ice. I could put my skates on and go for a workout. It is interesting watching people trying to scrap off their vehicles, as many do not have a simple scrapper. Saw a lady yesterday shoveling snow with a small dirt pan!!

Yep Customhouse is the way to go!! Takes a bit to set up, but the service you get is top notch!! They have a secure email server, so you can scan and send in the required information which speeds it up! First thing you do is sign up online, then you have to send in something to verify it is YOU, ie photo of ur drivers license, passport, etc, they will tell you what they want. As well one has to send in your banking information, and they will do a quick telephone interview, they will call you at a time window you provided when you initially signed up!! Really doesn't take that long, if you can scan, then email. You can fax it in as well, or send i via snail mail! Nothing bad to say about CH, always have provided excellent service, and very good exchange rates, and its FREE if you do it Electronically (EFT). They do have a wire service, but there is a fee! And to do a $$$$ transaction it is very easy, and they are more than happy to help u over the phone, take u by ur hand and go through the steps with ya. And when u start the transaction, you wil see the rate they are offering, if ya don't like it, you just cancel, OR hit refresh button (which is by the rate posted), the rate may get slightly better, stay the same, or worsen, so almost like ur now in Los Vegas, lol. Info required from the banks, is your banks transit #, acct #, banks address, this of course is required for both banks!! Sounds like a lot, but is very simple. best of luck

After my muscles have gone dormant I wake them all up at once with an intensive event:

NIA!!!

I went to a special class yesterday with the founders of NIA who were invited to share their teachings in Chicago.
They are on a world "Spirit Tour".
I love it!
They use my name...hahaha!

Oops digressions...

the class: it is amazing. A melange of dance, yoga, martial arts and general playfulness and love.
It is fun and it is not serious.
The music: fun!
The moves: easy and fun!
FUN!!!
It is a mind blower when comparing it to exercise classes as it is suited to all and you do what you can.
It unlocks blocks in one's body, mind and spirit.
I have seen people cry in classes (not that I have done many...I love to observe people).

It was so fantastic that when I left, I fired up the iPod and was singing and dancing all the way to the grocery store, through my shopping and to the potluck I was heading to afterwards. I could not stop smiling. I hardly felt the brilliantly sunny cold.
People flirted with me everywhere and I flirted back!
Wow!
That is always good for one's well-being.
The founders spoke with us before and after and what they had to say was so sweet and loving and connected.
I liked them instantly.
What they have spread around has been so healing.
And the room had great synergy....so many wonder-full people brought together...over 100 from all over yesterday.

The founders have been doing this for 25 years and they have teachers in 30 countries. Pretty cool.
I see this and I wonder to myself: why didn't I "invent" this?
Hee, hee.
It is so me!

Many people there asked me where I teach. I told them this was my 3rd time ever at a NIA event/class.

I need to get my act together.
I have been dormant for too long...researching, learning, observing....it's time for some solid ACTION!

Can you feel the inspiration???
